Mobile: 150Gb+unlimited national calls and text = £20 monthly Home: Unlimited WIFI + house phone + Cable TV including sports = £91 monthly (after discount for triple package).
Practically don't use the mobile data now as working from home and phone connects to home wifi. Home service provider said I used 116GB in April and that is mainly due to conference & video calls and work email attachments. |

The sudden surge in recent weeks, with an insidious newer variant possibly playing a role, is casting increasing doubt on India’s official Covid-19 death toll of nearly 200,000, with more than 2,000 people dying every day.
Each day, the government reports more than 300,000 new infections, a world record, and India is now seeing more new infections than any other country by far, almost half of all new cases in a global surge.
Together we shall fight and overcome this India

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Ever Been Offered A Job That You Rejected By Email? by Tats(m): 3:06pm On Mar 31, 2021 |
Yes, I have. I had worked for an international company in Nigeria and was moving to the UK while processing a transfer for the same company in the UK office as my expatriate boss from the US who was temporarily working in Nigeria wanted me to remain within the company and so he put in a word to the UK office. I eventually converted the transfer to a rehire process as the UK office were wasting my time on the transfer while I was in Nigeria and I wanted to resign and leave. Anyway, I resigned, moved to the UK, continued the process, was given an offer and then I declined it because they stepped me down from my equivalent level in Nigeria. I knew this because the levels were same globally. Anyway, I could easily reject the offer and did so via email because I had an offer at the same time from a competitor which was much better in terms of level, salary and company benefits. This was 14 years ago. To be fair to them, i was slightly changing department in the Uk but it didn't warrant the step down.
Rejection email below.
Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you very much for offering me the opportunity to work at xxxxxx UK . I have carefully considered the offer and unfortunately, I will not be accepting it as I believe that the career level offered is not commensurate with my skills and experience. I really appreciate that I was considered for a position at xxxxxx UK and that the organisation had confidence in me, which resulted in the extension of an offer. I look forward to any future engagement with the organisation. Best Regards.
Their reply.
Thank you xxxx for your email and feedback on the offer which was made.
I understand the reason for your decision and am sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations.
All the best with your future career path.
Kind Regards |

TheGreatIYANU: Justwise, you are a respected person on this forum and this drivel will not stop my respect for you. However see your quote in bold...
You accept the FACT that the OP has not mentioned anything. He keeps saying he will not state further details. He has stated his reason for opening this thread but naija mentality will not allow you people let him 'drop his cup'.
1. Do you know his current Country of residence?
2. Do you know his NATIONALITY(IES)?
3. If the UK police replied his email and he is asking for LIVING CONDITIONS in the UK, is this a CRIME? Has he scammed anyone?
I'm actually disappointed that you carried naija mentality to the land of the Queen. The little exposure I had there has made me open minded and taught me to ASK.
How about you simply answer his questions, wish him well or simply ignore?
Well I rest my case in this issue. OP, I have no interest in becoming a Police Officer whether in UK or anywhere else but I wish you well.
Keep us updated. Sometimes, one can make inferences from what someone posts. As per nationality, there are mainly three scenarios relevant here for the job in terms of rights to work. Either the OP is British, Irish or a foreigner with a right to live and work in the UK. These are the primary ways that you can work in the UK. If the OP was one of these, he could easily hop on a plane here and all the long story of processing travel easily as contained in the screenshot posted will not be necessary. I recognise that the OP was asking for information on what it is to be a Police Officer in the UK but the post generated no positive response to the question. Anyway, while it may be prestigious to be a Police Officer, it is not fun here and can be frustrating as many a times, they need to restrain themselves a lot in what they say to people or how they handle situations. I will give you an example with the Spanish police. I was watching a programme in which some UK lads went to Megaluf in Spain on a drunken spree and when one of them was misbehaving on the street, a Spanish police officer was cautioning him. Then one of his mates came to them and started insulting the Police officer. The Spanish policeman gave the British lad a very dirty slap and that was a shocker to him. He wasn't expecting it as no Police officer in the UK would dare to do that even in the face of being taunted. He quickly realised that this was not the UK and walked away and that was it. |

moonbender: Amen Amen. Thanks brother
Fact is that none of them can discourage me. To some people, there's limit to their success and achievements. But to me, there's no limit and I don't bad mouth anyone making a way for him or herself.
Once again, I appreciate your mention.
God bless As for me, I am not even remotely thinking that this is a scam. If you apply for a job via the genuine UK police website and they are in correspondence with you, it cannot be a scam. Most times, when companies or organisations here are corresponding with you after you apply for a job, they assume that you have the right to work. It is only after they make you an offer and your resumption is being processed that they ask for your passport or residency rights. Certainly, that is what happened to me when I got my current job. That is the aspect that some of us are sceptical about and are are not trying to dissuade the OP |

moonbender: I will state it again that I do not need to give all details as that is not the reason I created this thread.
If you know of any advantage or disadvantages, post it. If not, ignore the thread. People can't give constructive feedback to your post if it does not make sense to them. It would be like wasting time. Justwise lives in the UK and I also do. Why would we or others contribute meaningfully when your post doesn't make sense to us? If it is a position that allows Commonwealth citizens to apply, then that is a different case. |

I don't need your facts. Neither do I need the advise of the other boy called justwise.
Keep your fact and use it to achieve greater heights for yourself.
I think Nairaland is becoming useless day by day. Someone is requesting for A, and all he gets is F.
Its normal for you to think I am a scammer since this platform is its den already. All blames to Lala for not making his platform clean enough for sensible and legit people to work with. The issue is that you have not told us the whole story. Do you have any kind of residency in the UK? At least I do not think so. The screenshot your posted shows that you are likely still in discussion with them. You have asked them that they should let you know if there is a way that they can assist you to get your travel processes in Nigeria easily Your name also shows in the screenshot that it is G. C. or at least that is some of your names. |

I called her and I told her I was traveling and I would like to get her a gift while returning back.. She said okay... Since then, she's been calling to know about my welfare and at the end of the call we made tonight, before we bid farewell, I jokingly told her I miss her and I wish she was not married, that I would have loved to make her mine and she laughed and told me point black that, I should keep trying.. that maybe, I could win her heart... so, my question now is how can I go about it... mature minds please... She's very beautiful and has a wide hip... You do realise that if this develops beyond where it has now, you will certainly be caught someday. |
