actually i do see orion almost every night if the weather is clear enough....its probably the easiest constellation to spot because its visible from every part of the world. Your picture is actually not orion but one simple way to find orion is to look for the belt, i.e the three stars that are properly aligned. Star gazing is a very beautiful thing , i wish i had a telescope

it is sincerly disturbing how some people would believe so much in something to the extent that some of them would literarily die for it but when a REAL challenge comes up they foolishly dodge using lame excuses we have been hearing since the begining of time. Sometimes i just laugh it off, but some times its really annoying. For how long would people continue to deceive themselves huh

See how quick it is for some of them to bounce in here forming miracle worker but just as a real challenge is presented they run away as fast as the speed of light. The truth is as hardmirror has said they know it in their subconcious that its as likely as impossible.

long stories short for all you miracle workers there is a challenge up you guys, no long story no excuses, just restore that litttle boys eyes.....im patiently waiting for those that are confident enough in the god they serve to take up the challenge

Sometimes I hope there is a God that cares and loves humans unconditionally.

For those having doubt and scared of their lack/shaky faith, I should tell u, "it aint easy." It aint easy to become an atheist/agnostic, it aint easy trying to clean up indoctrination, it aint easy questioning established concept/ideas,... It aint easy

But I tell u, after passing through this circles of disbelieve to self actualization, it would have been worth it.

bro, what youve said here is one of the hardest realisations to come to. Some people cannot just live without the belief that a skydaddy is there to pick their calls. Im also of the opinion that some people should just remain religious

so now the evolution theory describes how man magically transforms from a simple organisms to complex.

if you doubt it, its fine ....but if your explanations is that man in our current form was magically molded into existence. then goodluck prooving the earth prooving the earth is less than 4billion years....if you cant then i patiently wait for you to provide a 4billion year old fossil of man in our current form.....goodluck doing that!

your making it sound as if atheist here are evangelizing...trust me most atheist dont come here to seek converts to atheism.....with that said i believe everyone is free to choose what they believe in.....normally atheism starts with doubt of ones religion (as ive experienced) and most times solidifies with science..and one usual tactic in with theists use over skeptics is complexity, as you tried to do up there and i could help you with many other complex things in the universe which to you and many other theists is the strongest pointer to gods existence....

you should maybe know by now that if complexity were to conote design , then an infinte regress of complex designers would be needed to explain our universe....to sum it up god (as proposed by theists) has an equal chance of creating the universe as a toothfairy, what i mean is that god remains an assumption.....another problem arises when god/s as proposd by theists is properly dissected (by carefully reading so called "holy books" ) alot of logical fallacies, inconsistencies coupled with outright lies is noticed except if the reader conciously ignore some parts of those books.

For the purpose of saving this thread from further derailing i would conclude that the skeptic should keep an open mind, do proper research herself to seek answers to whatever questions she might have...do not allow theists bully you that if you dont choose their side hell awaits you...because going by that same logic hell awaits pretty much all of us because the gods in whch they dont believe in has their punishments for unbelievers too...

@op johnydon and loj have provided you sufficient answers but let me add this
most of the reasons you provided up there as to why the bigbang theory is a fraud is not what the theory adresses
before going further, in nature some things are facts, take gravity for example, its a fact that something causes objects been thrown up into the air to be attracted back to the earth, sir issac newton observed this and came up with his explanations in which he thought gravity was a force....his explanations made sense and was accepted in the scientific community. Fast foward a couple decades later einstein came up his explanation that gravity was as a result of distortion in space time, his explanations made more sense and was accepted in the scientific community......during this newton to einstein era did apples stop falling down?..gravity was a fact!

now are there some facts which the big band tries to address??

ofcourse there are.....expansion of the universe is a fact.....leftover light of the big bang(CMB) is a fact..there are many others also scientists are planning a search for the gravitational wave background of the big bang, if found would be another ++ for the theory

The theory doesnt adress the cause of the inflation but how every thing we know to exist came to be

dont think science to be a religous book which claims to have all the answers..its a work in progess, theres a lot to uncover about life and the universe

Anyways, I personally doubt the existence for Multiverses; the circumstances leading to this observable universe is so "dicey" (Der Herrgott würfelt nicht" that the existence for a multiverse seems doubtful to me.

On the other hand, what if, what if our choices/certain circumstances decided a part of the universe, our observable universe What if there is another branch, a parallel branch that holds a parallel you that took another choice.

So, in another universe, we have an hitler who never hated jews, we have a nuclear, ravaged, war torn universe from Russia and USA, and so on.

Problem is, I doubt it can ever exist.

is it necessary for a neighbouring universes to be in anyway alike?....considering the fact our universe has all the necessary constants for star formation planetory formation etc.....now if we have a hypothetical multiverse where every possible combination is tried in each universe and ours was that which was suitable for forming stars and planets is it likely that if atall theres a multiverse all universes within would look thesame?...would it be neccessary have stars and planets or perhaps somethings else ........ heh there's only so much we can know wink

^^of course the idea of god is a hypothesis that necessary doesnt need to be dismissed immediately.....but a reason why an intelligent designer is gradually been overlooked in science is...for one, some things which we humans believe must have been designed by a supreme have been observed to occur naturally, take for example observation of birth of stars. birth of planets...this things have been seen to just come into existence without any sign of a creator..............Also there is no concrete evidence for a creator.....complexity of the universe doesnt necessary mean the universe was intelligently designed...now assuming we live in a multiverse with each having different constants and the one we live in happens to have what is necessary for stars planets etc to form. Can we fully assert our existence to be as a result of a multiverse knowing it has not been a fully proven fact? ..no?......if no then maybe we should live god aside for now.

one thing u should know is that god/s has just been an assumption...if were to base science on god/s...do you not think the scientific process would be affected?

According to big bang cosmology, there was a period of accelerated expansion or inflation immediately after the big bang...now a consequence of this is as we know is that the universe is continually expanding or accelerating. However, due to the quantum fluctuations of space-time, some parts of the universe never actually reach the end state of inflation. This means that the universe might be eternally inflating.

But if space-time goes on forever, then it must start repeating at some point, because there are a finite number of ways particles can be arranged in space and time.

As the observable universe that we know expands as far back as light can travel in 13.7 billion years, maybe the spacetime beyond that distance is another universe

The op brought a real life challenge to you christains to prove beyond reasonable doubt the power of this god and youre here quoting the pages of a book.

if i recall correctly jesus said those who believe in him would do things far greater than he did, so if in the bible jesus healed a cutoff ear, we definately would have seen an overwhelming evidence of how fresh limbs miraculously began to form on an amputee by now......dont you think?
