MSRA:
Common guys! whats dis about? This is an online forum and people are free to post on it whatever! I'm sure the forum is moderated, but only loosely at best and thats the way it should be. We supposedly believe in freedom of speech but sometimes we merely pay it lip service.

The people that make the pro IBB posts know this is a forum that they can take advantage of because of its popularity with our age group. and they sure are using it (and Im sure we aint seen nothing yet, wait till the election heats up). I believe in speak and let speak: let everyone have his say and if u have a differing opinion, also have your say.

Why do the Punch and Guardian etc run advertisement for causes u can see in their editorials that they dont believe in? This thing called freedom of speech/expression is the bastion of  true democracy.

Having said that, I believe it is very unfair to levy those allegations against Seun. He is someone I  know very well which I am sure, is more than these his accusers can say else they wouldnt make this allegations. And thats all Im going to say to that. but anyone who has met him can say more abt his personality traits. And thats another one of our problems - making unfounded allegations.

And concerning IBB, what can I say? I think that philosopher said it best when he said "a country gets the leader it deserves". Till we can show in practice and principle, that we deserve better, believe me, we are only going to get leaders in the mould and ilk of this present crop of selfish, self seeking, self serving politicians. Why? Because we ourselves are by nature selfish and self seeking, so why should our leaders be better than us when we are no better than them.

The bane of the country is the dearth of self sacrifice and courage among ordinary Nigerians.
@MRSA
I agree with you. this is a forum where people are free to voice their opinion. but that said however, when only one aspirant has five topics on the homepage, all saying positive things about him and the other aspirants are rarely being mentioned, it leaves you wondering about the so much talked about LEVEL PLAYING FIELD. Yes, anyone can start a topic but you and I know that only "selected" topics make it to the homepage.

@ Poster

What is "complicated" about doing the right thing the right way?

You are setting yourself up for many, many sorrows and disappointments - Which could even start in the hands of your "agent". Time will fail me to relate experiences of would-be hustlers here.

The path of hustle is littered with the debris of several dreams that have been blown up into a million pieces.

PS: You probably do not have it in you to do the right thing - So, I wish you the name of Naija's Ag. President - Goodluck!

* Let the yabis begin!!!*
some people are just plain stupid. the poster was not asking if its better to do things the right way are not. if you dont have anything to say based on the topic, why not just walk away? as per The path of hustle is littered with the debris of several dreams that have been blown up into a million pieces.,if all you can see is failure , then you need to check yourself as there are still some who achieve their goals and even though it was not easy and it took a lot of preparations and planing, i can proudly say in am one of them.
Now, Bleep off with your pessimism.
Travel › Re: Plz, Help Me Choose Among These Countries! by Tcrack(m): 8:20pm On Aug 21, 2010
i have not lived in any of this countries but if i were in your shoes, i will chose Holland because:
1) there are so many nigerians there. if you find yourself in a country where you dont know anyone and dont understand their language, my brother, life can be hell (talking from experience)
2) the immigration policy there is better as in less strict
3) there is still room for hustling ( if you know what you are doing)
4)even though there is racism everywhere, holland is still better
finally, NEVER LEAVE HOME IF YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO SUSTAIN YOU FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS.

NOTE: 2,3 and 4 are based on stories i have heard from friends. like i said, i have never lived there.best of luck
Travel › Re: Angolan Visa by Tcrack(m): 5:52am On Aug 21, 2010
Fogman:
This was my thinking until my sib traveled to Angola early this year. My brother the stories i m getting from there is mind blowing. This is a place u can start making money the next day after your arrival. Although cost of living is very high, average apartment goes for $400 per month and on a good day, u can make $300. What trives most there is commerce, most Nigerian business men ship goods there and make minimum of 300%. A bottle of palm oil cost $50, gala, indomie noodle, etc cost 4 times its prices in Nigeria. And forget to tell u that the visa is more difficult to secure than european, US visas.

my brother, i can authoritatively tell you that the bolded parts above are lies.( as in BIG LIES)
this siblings of yours, are they your siblings from the same parents or just guys from the same town/village? how much do you trust them?
i dont know if you speak Portuguese or any other angolan language but if you dont, i dont see how you intend to make money the next six months. i hope you realize that nobody speaks english in angola. if i were you, i will prepare well and not just hop off to angola based on stories. one more thing, when you get there, if they say things like "bring your money let us invest it for you" or "let us invest together" my brother, run as fast as your legs can carry you. i wish you best of luck.
shalom.

I'm very happy that Ben Akabueze, a Lagosian of Igbo Origin is the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Lagos State. This shows that democracy in Lagos State is evolving. Ethnic bias and nepotism should be continually shunned in the appointment of state commissioners and Local Government Chairmen in Nigeria. Fashola has done well. However, I don't support the view that the Lagos State Government should provide uniforms for Students of Public Schools sad sad sad Let parents sort the provision of school uniforms out for their wards. The State Government should concentrate on subsidizing fees, renovating schools, school libraries, sporting facilities and restructuring the syllabus of our Primary and Secondary Schools. Cheers.

Haven't LASTMA given Nigerians enough taste of what it will be like if they were lagos state police? I use to support the clamour for community policing untilI realize what it could turn out to be.
as bad as the FG police we have now may be, the are still times better than what a state or community will ever be.
