Politics / Re: Bomb Explosion Behind Emir Of Kano’s Palace by tdade(m): 9:47am On Apr 18, 2013 |
ayenny02:that's because Christians don't point to th Bible as a justification of their course. But muslims? Oh, they'll tell you they did it cause the Quran says so or because they can't stand unbelievers or because they can't wait for the great Jihad or they can't wait for Sharia to rule the world or ALL of the aforementioned reasons. I mean, ARE YOU F**KING SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!?!?! |

ayenny02:but do they come out and say they do it in the name of Jesus? None of them are religiously motivated. And where is evidence that Hitler ever attended a church? What about Osama, Al-Anwaki, Abdulmutallab, BH, and your other muslim brothers who cite the Quran and their goal to Islamize the world when the come up with their antics? Just to name a few |

ayenny02:have we seen Christians going around bombing and killing people in the name of 'Allah'? Does the bible say you should kill unbelievers? No. It says you preach to them. You remember the plane bomber Abdul Mutallab, don't you?. When he got his life sentence in the USA. He shouted 'Allah told us to kill in the Quran'. Defend that. You lot are sick twisted extremists. Just check out Abdul's profile on wikipedia to see the true Islam. |

Rossikk:
The city.
the average wage of the city of New York is $65k and you can still live in the city with that amount Using your logic, Abuja should have a higher average wage than Austin, Texas seeing as its about five times the population. And Being bigger in size does not affect spectrum pay. If it did, Abu dhabi wouldn't have a higher average wage than most Cities which are bigger.
It offers nice clean parks, wide, clean roads that are well-paved, no stinking open gutters etc etc. How is providing an ideal urban environment a ''waste of resources''? Would you rather it was a slum?
No, I won't Rather it was a slum, but what exactly does it have to offer to the nation? Those things you mentioned are minimal to the survival of a so called capital. What is its GDP?
No it wouldn't. Do some proper research.
Pardon me, I meant in west africa. Lagos has a GDP of over $40Billion, second only to Nigeria(and Ghana but beats Ghana PCI) in west Africa With all the resources it has, why are there still slums in Lagos then? And why are you praising a place that's filed with slums while insulting a place that isn't?
I did not insult Abuja, I've actually commended the beauty if you read back. I just see it as a place for the Megarich and you seem to forget its a planned city! Lagos evolved to where it has gotten today, hence, the slums. |

CFCfan:Even if corruption in the states is higher than Nigeria(which I doubt it is), why do you think its not so pronounced? Because those guys actually do their work. If Nigeria was half as decent as the US, I won't give a bleep what the governors embezzle, cause I know they'd be exposed one day. 1 Like |

Rossikk: Housing scheme for the poor and middle class? There are probably more publicly funded housing estates in Abuja than in Lagos. It's really not govt's job to build such estates if truth be told. How many housing estates has Fashola built? Lagos is filled with slums and you have the nerve to mention it in the same breath as Abuja? Have you no shame? Housing should be taken care of by the private sector. If you cannot afford to live in Abuja, go and live where you can afford. Can every Englishman afford to live in London? No. Even teachers and civil servants find themselves having to live outside London and commute to work daily there. How many Americans can wake up and say they're moving to Washington DC or New York? Very few. Why? The rents are astronomical. But in Abuja you expect all comers to hve a nice affordable cheap flat ready and waiting for them. Better get real.Sir, I grew up in London and one thing that stands out is the 'average wage' in comparison with Abuja. All English men do not live in London, accepted, but that's not to say they can't afford it. London is the economical backbone of the UK, and it can afford to retain talent. What's the average wage in Abuja? And do you mean New York the city or New York the State? Because the average wage in New York is $60-70k and to get a decent condo would cost you circa $2000/month and with that kind of average wage, you'd see that the citizens can AFFORD it! Same goes for DC. Please, what exactly does Abuja have to offer as a city besides a few high rise towers? Its merely a waste of resources. With all the slums Lagos has, if it was a country, it would be Africa's second largest economy. Put that into perspective before comparing them both, sir. |

Eko Ile: The fact that with so much oil money pumped into the waste basket called abuja, the so called beautiful pictures ended on the first page, its very obvious that there is nothing meaningful or worthwhile in that place. This thread remains a disgrace and gross embarrassment.Exactly my point! No housing scheme for the poor and middle-class. Its like there's a sign there that says if you're poor, f**k off! Even earning 300k doesn't make you 'rich'. That's the dichotomy between Lagos and Abuja. Lagos is for everyone. Even without oil money being pumped into it, it can stand on its own. Take away oil money from Abuja-the so called 'capital'- and it has nothing. Even with oil money sef, its still dry. |

nne3870:KUBWA? You are mega deluded! I've been to Kubwa before and I'd boldly compare it with oworo shoki in Lagos. If you ever go to a GRA in Lagos, you'd denounce Abuja instantly. Abuja: a capital city that is exclusively for the rich, that has been built on oil money from other parts of the county. I won't deny, its beautiful to behold but, its beauty is nothing compared to VI,Lekki,Ajah,Ikoyi,Ikeja Banana island, and even the uncompleted Eko Atlantic city-and these only account for half of Lagos. Besides, most people like you don't even live in Abuja. They only go there to work seeing as the place is too expensive for them, they live in the bordering states like Nasarawa etc. |
Politics / Re: Boko-Haram Amnesty; Jonathan Betrayed Igbos? by tdade(m): 11:42am On Apr 06, 2013 |
First of all, I see no reason why this should be limited to ibos alone. Granting amnesty to BH is a travesty of justice. Why? 1) because we don't know them. 2) because they have not asked for amnesty, which means we are actually offering them amnesty. Re: BH's demands of islamizing Nigeria. By OFFERING(not granting) amnesty, the government is indirectly succumbing to that ploy. Why? Because they have not actually made known that they are ready to stop their acts of killing/bombing, hence, showing to them that the Government is scared of them and incapable of subduing them and thus, offering amnesty. I don't know why everything has to be ibo related. 90% of Nigerians have been affected by BH's antics one way or the other. Do they account for that amount of the population? This very move of amnesty, should it backfire, can split the country as we know it. |
