Our policy makers are slow really, a frustration many share. These guys are capable of more with the right investment and not just them but others too. Where is Onu? He says the right things but always seems to be missing in action.
Depending on government will slow things down. They're into private investors. The company will find it easy to enter the Nigerian market through collaboration with others indeginous company. Imagine the vehicle model of the radio on proforce and innoson vehicles. The handheld radio in use with various government agencies etc. That's it.

Civillian models. I have no idea on their marketimg audience.

I guess collaboration with foreign companies and CE approval gives access to the European market.

Yes indigenous manufacturing but some part are being sourced from abroad due to the bad industry we have here. However those parts make less 35% of the product.

There's this radio too, it carries an inbuilt repeater and can be configured to extend the range of uav.

It works this way, if the UAV needs to move from Lagos to Abuja and then it's range is limited to something around Kaduna. If we any of the three branches of the military has a unit stationed along Kaduna to Abuja and has the radio, it's can be used to increase the UAV communication range therefore allowing further blablabla.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by tdayof(m):
Today, I talked about a Nigerian company with a manufacturing plant in Nigeria into Radio Solutions blablabla.

Had access to their brochure but I doubt I can upload here due to size.

They've got various types of radio communications devices, Jammers etc and most of their products have CE approval. The company currently has up to four patents with some pending approval.

They also have ToT with foreign companies with the company Nigerian specialist integrating their own special etc into the device.

They currently have sales in Germany with a Pakistani company being their current biggest cistomer.

I'll try and upload the remaining products details later.

*Encrypted DMR
*Trunking capability etc.

They are developing repeaters already to enhance and increase signals. It's making use of fiber optic blablabla.

They have various radios. There are plans to have their products being fielded among the Nigerian agencies soon.

Below is their first product. It has A DES capability and a new model with same design is being developed with AES integration.

Reason why we need those Yahbon UAV

After that attack, NAF was able to pinpoint those guys location. Follow them with the UAV undetected and get a location. This is just my own opinion as am sure the military definitely know where these guys are being kept. You just have to avoid civilian casualty.

HOUSE PROPOSES MARITIME FUND FOR THE NIGERIAN NAVY.

The Speaker added that establishment of Maritime Security Fund would provide the Navy with needed funds to effectively discharge its sub-regional duties of patrolling the joint development zone between Sao Tome and Principe and Nigeria.

Dogara also posited that security in Nigeria’s teritorial waters must be strengthened, with the Nigerian Navy and other relevant agencies collaborating to stem the tide of piracy and other attacks, while the parliament seeks ways to secure its territorial waters.

He disclosed these at a public hearing on a Bill for an Act to amend the Maritime Operations Coordinating Board Act, reconstituting the Maritime Operations Co-coordinating Board for effective control of all maritime operations in Nigeria’s territorial waters and the Exclusive Economic Zone, create the Maritime Security Fund and establish anti-piracy offences.

Dogara said that the importance of the maritime sector and its capacity to take Nigeria out of recession could not be undermined.

FOR JNL: The way we run our government isn't the same. People do not see things the same way.
Noting that poor funding has been one of the constraints of the Nigerian Navy in securing Nigeria’s waterways, the Speaker said the creation of the Maritime Security Fund will go a long way in providing the much needed fund to also effectively despatch it sub-regional duties of patrolling the Joint Development Zone between Sao Tome and Principe and Nigeria, and the Gulf of Guinea generally.

Christianity EtcRe: There Is No Such Thing As "GRACE!" by tdayof(m): 12:45am On Jul 16, 2017
OP: You have misconceptions about the bible.

What is a definition of God's grace?

ANSWER:

To learn the definition of God's grace, it is wise to understand the Greek and Hebrew words behind this term.

A prominent Old Testament word describing God's grace is chesed. This word speaks of deliverance from enemies, affliction, or adversity. It also denotes enablement, daily guidance, forgiveness, and preservation.

The New Testament word is Charis. It focuses on the provision of salvation.

Definition of God's Grace – What does the Bible say?
"This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:22-24)

"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace" (Ephesians 1:7).
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:8-10).

"For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" (John 1:17).

"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!" (Romans 5:17).

[s]I've just realised despite some screeching and finger pointing about African armies alleged underspending nobody has ever done a cost comparison in all the years of this thread;even on ToT.

Defence budget 2017 Personnel tri services %AGE OF gdp spend per soldier
Here's the SANDF 4 bn$ 80,000 0.9% 50,000$ per year

KDF 1.2 BN$ 30,000 1.4% 40,000$ per year

Naij 2 bn$ 160,000 0.4% 12,500$ per year

Uganda 900 mn 50,000 1.2% 18,000$ per

There may be some variation with changing exchange rates but the truth comes out with figures! Pay,welfare, housing, training, maintenance, operations and acquisitions is included in the per capita spend per soldier. I wonder where Naijj's money for the new buys is coming-most likely extra budgetary funds from a contingency account. Those who can draw logical inferences are ofc free to do so.
Which country's troops 2 years back were in such serious operational problems with proxy terrorists they fled the field of battle several times? The per capita spend isn't all;is each armed force developing doctrines, what the US calls TTPs,Tactics ,Techniques and Protocols to optimise their ToE in their respective threat matrix?
Very very few on this thread can answer that especially when none of us are fighting near peer enemies. Like I said earlier M23,BH and Al Shabaab aren't significant threats but one of those proxies gave serious problems to its foe-why??

I had a post earlier saying the RSA for its continental role really should have heavy lift like the propfan not turboprop, An 70,at least 3 pieces. It can carry 35 tons, 5000 km-wow! Also at least a 12 plane squadron of heavy twin FSBs like Su 30 ,though Saffers don't respect Vlads stuff so it'd have to be the 100 mn$ a pop Rafales.
Here's the thing:its well within their financial capabilities. They need boost their defence budget to 1.6% of GDP,well within their means with some simple scrimping and judicious scraping. Some of you've heard the single seat KA 50 was tried out here-thats true! 2 squadrons will arrive once the main N Kenya oil pipeline is operational, late 2019. Bookmark this post!
Point of all this being? Acquisitions and availability of warfighting equipment depends on not just your ready finance but financial capability.[/s]
Osheyyy awon ti minister of finance. grin grin grin

The issue with the Nigerian police is they're always armed but not always prepared for a sudden shootout.

You'll see an armed officer with his cap off, his uniform not properly tucked in.

If you've seen NPF responding to sudden shootouts, you'll observe those guys are always the love well kitted on patrol. The everyday black and black will hide his face and riffle and still do like nothing happened after such incident expect when there is a reinforcement already .
