Use a UGV, open the bag or either scan the bag for any thermal signal accross the spectrum before detonating. This could has stopped unnecessary detonation. |

Xbee007: ISIS have been using Drones to drop bombs on Iraqi forces with chilling and devastating effects. When drones are in the sky it can be somehow difficult to spot by soldiers locked in armored tanks and APCs. I pray BHT doesn't get to that level which is why we need to end this war decisively now! They're noticeable . Watch those ISIS videos and you'll see those soldiers running away. Our soldiers don't do escort in armored tanks . |

Stephandeswardt: Also we need to stop bombing with 250kg bombs.....the minimum for bombing runs should be 500kg bombs......sometimes when the airforce shows bombing runs and I see vehicles driving off.....I wonder if staffing by aircraft cannons and rockets aren't more effective. ... They don't drop one bomb. That's why two aircrafts are being used. Watch the videos and notice the other one changes to canon after dropping its bomb while the second aircraft bombs a designated area too. |

Stephandeswardt: Detect it how? Have you ever seen that thing fly in real life?it's super quiet and stealthy when it quite high....and what's to tell the Nigerianext soldiers it isn't one of theirs? Little careful deductions like this is what is lacking in our officer corps.....their mindset is what ever the big Ogas want is what they do..... Seen it fly? Things have done with a DJI Reversed engineered with FHSS capability Various modifications etc Heck I have seen that thing fly, I have made it fly.. DJI cant hide from the human eyes. |

Stephandeswardt: Have you all thought of the possibility of bht using drones and observing troop movements.......and might not even be insider information, I noticed most of you here just come and banter words and hardly do any in depth analysis. ........ and I must say the defence information office Isnt suited for that public relations job..... I think what army logistic is going is buying different armoured products from different suppliers and rotating them.....example seems the bmp 1 has no been seen often, it will get to another period they will be well used and another vehicle type retired for major overhauls, it guarantees that no supplier can hold us to ransom. ....but all very expensive, but it's what we suffer for a weak industrial based country Bokoharam using drone ? That's going to be a quadcopter at maximum. Which means the Shiit would have been detected a very long time ago. |

So @giles, we know NAF will surely report after this and tell us how she spent our money. Let us wait for an official confirmation which will likely be after the arrival of the aircrafts. |

Deway75: I'm not sure why some of us are supporting this deal. Its a complete rip off. Be reminded that this aircraft fulfills only one role - ground attack. For a cash strapped Nigeria we should be acquiring multirole platforms. Regardless of the inclusion of training, spare parts, aviation and ground support equipment, and hangar, facilities, and infrastructure required to support the program, this is awoof money to US industries. Cutievik says Iraq got 20 for $425m including all necessary accessories and support. It is my firm belief that our $600m deal will not be as juicy as the Iraqi deal and we will see this before our very eyes when they are supplied and start operations. This penchant for made in America weapons is bewildering. Again we have lost the opportunity with this deal to acquire air superiority aircrafts. Algerians and Ugandan SUs, Morocann F16s or even South African Gripens will run air superiority over Nigerian airspace and we'll do nothing but stare. THis is what happens when we shy away from open bid procurement processes.
Make we dey analyse something with open eye, leave unnecessary arguments naf isn't dumb to buy at an expensive price If there's no need. There's obviously a reason we don't know moreover. Hanger, training, life cycle and weapons and others should amount to up to 500m depending on configuration. Anyway we're all judging from internet source. Moreover without an official confirmation, it still doesn't make sense. |

It sucks Guided bombs. You know how much those cost? Those aircrafts won't be dropping dumb bombs all around. |

Fayose is a hypocrite. I pity people who take him seriously. Intellectuals like us would rather listen to Konga's raps than the rambles of the worthless hallucinator. Under the Nigerian constitution, it's not illegal for Fayose to wear a camouflage whatever as he can't be mis identified. |

nemesis2u: DRDO Pinaka MK2 MBRL with guided rockets
pinaka range is around 75km and each individual guided rocket is guided separately, with an on-board computer calculating its flight path, and a transmitter and receiver on the launcher sending signals to keep it on path. Every 20 microseconds, a navigation device calculates the rocket’s position and sends a path correction message through the radio link. Alot of military harrware from DRDO. haven't seen then pitching to the African market. Why is that so? |
