1st pic medical kits saline bottles

2nd pic the army had to tow the vehicle so engines or something else was disabled / destroyed . interesting the windshield wipers r not in their usual position

3rd pic is same vehicle of 2nd pic and has a impact point on the windscreen, bullet ? r the windows bullet proof ?

4th pic the rear door of white car is interesting, looks like sign of burning fire was internal and the flames came out, the bumper damage is interesting maybe it was struck/cornered

overall view

no targeting of the vehicles in general by gunfire

the law enforcement vehicles r disabled and had to be towed for recovery except the white one

on the unfortunate day was it raining hard or very dusty conditions ?
Thanks for your analysis. The vehicles are among those that encountered an ambush.

It's obvious the vehicles were not targeted at all as there's no trace of RPG fire/ sharpenel or bullet holes.

************

Bidexii another thing that comes to my mind is that, the guys might have gone down from their vehicle to provide fire for their partners. I guess during this, they got shot.

It's NA. I hate that vehicle as it offers ZERO Protection.

Can't we put Proforce APC in use in NE? It's better at least. Occupants are safe and can come out immediately to return fire while the gunner also suppress.

Most of these things are what could have been avoided.

No bullet hole still! Even the CJTF and the army truck has no bullet hole.

So what happened to the occupants of those vehicles?

Car TalkRe: Benz Vs BMW – Which Is Actually Better? by tdayof(m): 2:44pm On Jul 31, 2017
BMW has great cars .

However, the Nigerian mentality has been configured into mercedes = boss/luxury just the way some people feel about IPhone to Samsung.

To Nigerians, it's not just about the design but the brand. Put a Mercedes logo on a BMW and Nigerians will go for the BMW with Mercedes logo (same with the Apple and Samsung issue.)

Paystack has a good customer service. Simplepay customer service can be damn annoying while vogue us has a nice customer service.

The advantage Paystack has is they know Nigerians and they know the best way to get to Nigerians and respond in a Nigerian mannered way.

Thank you for posting. There's a publication I faulted but made no comment on. The rubbish write up talked about how NAF sorties and operations were not coordinated and some rubbish reports.

It was mister by patches or who. Moreover, I read the whole write up but the report on NAF makes zero sense for someone or an organization that deals with defence info. The information and report makes zero sense.

This video is a proof.

You are 100% correct about initial RPG but I am sure there were no (or very few) MRAPs in that convoy and too few soldiers to go super suppressive.
There is a stupid culture in the NA of going lightly armed on guard/ escort duties. They always underestimate opposition. Very many such incidents in the Niger Delta

Also the people Boko Haram throws into this kind of thing are programmed to die. Possibly many fighters were involved so a ratio of three to one is bad odds. The only good thing is that they probably exposed themselves too much on this and suffered devastating losses in the hundreds.
Yes they're programmed to die and they are very much. Did you watch the video on NPF and NA convoy?

Those guys have zero tactics. It's just spread and attack.. They were very much too.

NAF was so helpless to strike on some neeccerary positions and I guess that was due to hostages already. The main thing is during ambush, get so defensive until back up comes. The best idea, fall back as you don't know what's ahead so fall back and draw a defensive fire. (this gives the air backup (especially when the backup is by a helo) to come from your back and strike BHT location.

We've been loosing enough soldiers to ambush, so I feel there's need to review the way our guys respond to ambush.

Very intelligent comment. I agree with you. The NA is suspecting same I am sure. The problem is that it was all so predictable that many people should be fired for this. Even a kid should have anticipated this.
Look at something. CIA has her own drones. Why? You don't trust someone from the military not to sell you out when you need to do some covert operations.

NIA should have some neeccerary equipments. I'm sure they knew about such high profiled convoy. Then sweep the area with UAVs looking for some thermal signature.

I'm sure the ambush came with BHT launching RPGs On the military convoy then bringing the security capability to something low.

I'll also suggest this guys don't drive too close to each other again. 10M -20M is enough while maintaining a steady and perfect speed. If BHT attacks a single car before moving 20M, other vehicles in the escort already know how to react. Get the radio man to report to the command and ask for a air backup. Then you guys need to move into a tactical formations and start suppressive fire against BHT. 10-15 Minutes, DHQ or the theater command has eyes on you from the air and then you know what next.

PS: I'm not saying abandon the first vehicle but go damn suppressive. Go super suppressive and BHT won't go near that first vehicle that ran into a Rocket fire. (Occupants by then will be doing their best to go into safety position and luckily for them If it's just a gun fight, they'll return in a professional manner.

Winning this war isn't just about having military on ground at NE. It's about DHQ, NIA and others acting super smart.

Well there is more to it than what meets the eyes, SSBN can tell you about how Nigeria was meant to acquire anti ship missiles from north Korea to defend us from any ship Bourne attack in a case were got in a fight with Cameroon and France decided to step in to help them.

Powers that be pressured federal government to Kill the deal, infact generally a powerful Nigeria is not in the interest of many superpowers, remember the French government openly supported Biafra, we have not gotten that kind of support from them in the fight against Boko Haram.
The issue is we've been depending on all these western super powers. Best way to find out way out of this shiit is get the Chinese and Russian as close ally both economically and militarily.

The issue is that the government knows one Shiit and then US stops buying this and that and the economy crashes.

But hell no let go this way, get so close to the Chinese and they'll but your oil. Those guys are ready to loan u money and help diversify our economy. Then give them a reply by making a $2BN military equipments deal. UCAV, SAMS, Fighters, Naval ships. (Make this a one time order). When purchasing, use your head. Get the J-10 from the Chinese to perform it's role and then go for a minimum of 18 huge flankers from the Russians. su30, su35. Get some some naval vessels or submarines too.

This shit is cheaper than getting a nuclear capability from north Korea. Cheaper and faster. We gain two powerful nuclear countries as friends.

Median and long range SAMs and anti ship missiles all from China.
Tdayof as online advocator-general for the Nigerian arms purchase commission I expect you to be doing this.
Those guys at DHQ don't reason the way we do. I don't know if funding is the issue. Can someone tell me what we are doing with those revenues generated by the Nigerian custom service?

We should know defence is very critical. We're talking about buying naval assets and air assets but no one is talking about SAMS.

Why are you guys always posting ignorant stuff?.
You guys are showing that Northerners have more sophisticated minds when you post beer palour, public transport discussion stuff on social media
Boko Haram is being defeated massively that is why they are doing desperate things to feel relevant. The NNPC is to blame for this by deploying to the field without security plans.
100 soldiers escorting 20 civilians on a road trip is a stupid security plan.
The guys should have been ferried by chopper from place to place . The same dumb mediocre behaviour in government is the same dumb, brain dead thinking on social media. SMH

And yes, the Nigerian Army only freed a few of the captives

Its only a pity that some soldiers and an officer paid a supreme price.

Thanks to the military authority for acting swiftly.
They died protecting the civilians. What I feel now is bokoharam seems to be attacking high profiled convoy with little security.

In as much as 8 military personnel seems much for 9-15 civilians. That means 2 military hilux and little fire power.
I even doubt If the hilux might be armed (as seen in the video in which bokoharam attacked NPF convoy )

So two vehicles means whatever diversion bokoharam has to use will be on the military vehicle. RPG, RCIED etc. Now the first vehicle military vehicle is down and BHT has to deal with the remaining one.

Problem
1) (the soldiers can't quickly ID where BHT is firing from)
2) Protecting the civilians.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Question
How does the military route get exposed ?
Is someone fielding bokoharam with informations?

Solutions idea.

Since bokoharan has been attacking convoy nowadays, why not create a team with the airforce and then send the AFSF guys on some rubbish task or unreal escort mission.(NB: They don't know the mission isn't real so whoever will sly and spew information to BHT Will do that). Then after the UN-existing mission, have the airforce sweep the area and detect any thermal signature along the route the convoy has to pass through. (I need armed recon for this Shiit) fire on those bastards on sight.

Damn, do this up for some weeks and BHT will stop attacking the military convoys.

UPDATE ON SEARCH AND RESCUE OF NNPC STAFF

Nice one from the Army and AFSF. You're special for a reason.

A major general once told my dad that if the military had reacted under 24 hours in which the chibok girls got kidnapped, they would have been rescued.

Now, you might know where they are but going in is very dangerous. LaLandmines etc.

Moreover, I feel at the peak of BHT, intelligence was very low.
