Let him send accra cic an email. They will send the attached form (did same thing for my daughter).

This people sef, for some people, they will attach only stamped passport data page, for some only unfilled medical request form, some only filled medical request form, while others both filled medical form and stamped passport page... In all the most important document is the "filled medial request form".

Aussie4me:
Congratulations for the medical call, My brother got same too yesterday he submitted on the 9th of june too

but there was not medical form attached to the mail as they indicated in the mail

what was attached is the stamped copy of the passport

do you experience same?

if not house help what is he going to do?

can go for the medicals without the form?

Thanks for your prompt response as he is on way to lagos now

l advice him to use IOM

aye! I am a withness grin (Most of my updates dropped 12:30pm-12:47pm ish)

btw guys, there are times you need to check your cic account even without a notification email o. When I passed my medicals, I saw the update on my cic account a day before I got notification...

tnuola:
Who else noticed that the mails drop from like 12noon?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Team12: 3:30pm On Jul 07, 2015
Fear not! It has always been like this. It has always stated "Lagos" for study permits, but in practice ACCRA it is...

MisterMightyone:
If this information on the CIC page is anything to go by (Updated June 25, 2015). It seems TRVs are now processed from Lagos office. Nigeria is no longer on the list of countries served by the Accra office, except for applications related to permanent residents. This may explain why paper route is getting faster lately.

And there is now an email for Lagos office through which general enquiries can be sent. It may be helpful for those who want to send an email.

Actually its within 2 days. I am yet to see anyone that a week b4 pp request..*I stand to be corrected*

berexio1:
it takes abt a week after medical passed to pp request, so u will hear from them before the week runs out.

Cheers!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Team12: 8:17am On Jul 07, 2015
It's Tuesday. I have a feeling that all those whose application is in the 8th week will get a response today. I pray it is positive! Good morning my neighbours!!!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Team12: 2:04pm On Jul 06, 2015
True!

MisterMightyone:
Maybe, maybe not. My friend submitted paper route since May 28th, and no reply yet. While someone who submitted online a day after that has been called for medicals. I think it depends on the VO handling the application. But faster route or not, it will end in goodnews for us all.

...or lady who is also a make up artist and knows how to fix weavon... grin

AriseOCompatrot:
Chairman, I find it odd that you and Tinu are now jumping on Chrigo's post as if it is in consonance with what you guys said earlier. Tinu said categorically that people should not travel unless they have all the money complete. You (justwise) said anybody who travel without tuition and living expenses is PURE MADNESS. I even asked you if someone has 10k out of 15k tuition on a two year course, whether he should travel, you categorically said No! Your positions are at variance with that of Chrigo.

Jengetiele said people can travel with incomplete money and make a lot of money legally. Chrigo is disputing Jengetiele's claim as to how much people can make without breaking the law but Chrigo ended by affirming that people can make upto $10,000 a year legally by just working full time during the four months long break. In other words, Chrigo is saying that people can come with part money and work hard to make up the rest. Whether the stress of the work will tell on them or not was never the argument. It was whether or not they should venture out without complete tuition and living expenses.

And @justwise, I still dispute your claim that there is no other way of making money legally except through the 20 hours a week system or even the full time work during long breaks. If someone is gifted in designing websites or creating apps, whether or not the person is studying I.T. there, if that person works 20 hrs a week and can by the side use his software skills to design products that organizations there find useful, is that person engaging in illegality? If a lady who does accessories (beads and the likes) here in Nigeria, goes over there, takes up the 20 hrs a week offer, but on the sides is able to do beads she can sell to people of all races and creeds, is she breaking the law? If someone who writes scripts for Nollywood goes there and in spite of his course load and his 20hrs a week earnings, is able to sell a script for a short film to be aired during the toronto film festival, is he breaking the rules? Or someone studying engineering in Canny but in his spare time paints oil on canvass and sells as art work? I can go on and on but i'm sure you get my drift.

I am not in Canada yet so I am open to education from those who are there on whether the examples I have listed above are illegal. I have mentioned just four out of many other hands-on or intellectual gifts people can use to generate income outside of paid employment. My question is, would it be legal to do so? Let people knowledgeable and experienced with the Canadian system respond.

In any event, Chrigo, a well respected veteran of this thread, has swung the argument in favour of those who say that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE ALL TUITION AND LIVING EXPENSES COMPLETE before you apply to schools or for TRV or eventually travel.

Opposing views are still welcome

No one is reading between the lines....

This is a battle between the option you have or ure planning to execute based on your situation and the truth.

If so so person writes in your favour, you're quick to be happy and concur.

I just believe nothing is impossible...and my candid and final opinion is..
Without people in canada telling you this, you can do the mathematics.
If you're gong to have 3 semesters in a year...it won't be as eaasy as someone having 2semesters.
If you have coop it'll be easier than someone without.

Get you full tuition for your first year and maybe 6months accommodation at the least.
Then others can definitely be sorted out.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Team12: 10:52am On Jul 04, 2015
But @tnuola your point is different from @Chrigo's point. What you said is you don't advise anyone to leave Naija without the complete tuition for their program...what every other person (including those in Canada) has been saying is that you can work it out with at least 1 yr or 2 semester tuition and not necessarily the entire tuition for your program...

tnuola:
Lmao.. I'm tired of telling the harsh truth.. I won't even talk about it anymore, they don insult me tire... You done did it.

I dont agree with you.

I got confirmation from the Lagos cic office through email that ALL Stduy visas (Paper or Online) are processed in ACCRA. I had earlier emailed them(Lagos VO), as the text i got after biometrics stated that my application has been forwarded to Visa office in Lagos, but they directed me to ACCRA VO, and there i got my issue resolved.

Btw, just an addition, the 51 weeks processing time on cic website does not apply to us. If you notice, it says "Processing time by Visa office". So since it's ACCRA that processes all study visa, the maximum processing time is 8 weeks even if you apply from Lagos. Little wonder why no one's application has been delayed for more than 8 weeks (except for @Chrisviral whose case was unique grin)

DaRocha:
PLEASE IF YOU WANT YOUR CANADA VISA QUICKLY IN NIGERIA, DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF APPLYING ONLINE. YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE SENT TO ACCRA FOR PROCESSING AND IT WILL TAKE MORE THAN A MONTH TO PROCESS.

PLEASE DO PAPER-BASED AT VFS, IF YOU ARE APPLYING FROM NIGERIA. IT WILL TAKE LESS THAN 3 WEEKS TO OBTAIN A RESPONSE. IN ADDITION, IT WILL BE PROCESSED IN NIGERIA AND NOT IN GHANA.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

She does not need to do another medicals unless she is asked for a further test. Same thing happened to me- I did upfront Medicals and yet they still sent me the request for medical mail. All I did was call the hospital and the result was sent same day. Q-life is just making things difficult.

These VOs are humans and they also make mistakes - At some point, my daughter's account was showing "Medical under review" even when she had not done medicals! But I used email to chase them and it was resolved immediately.

Graceee:
@Ivylane
in your online platform, did they send fresh medical request mail after they replied and asked you to go to a panel physicianhuh?, if yes then go get a fresh one from IOM and not Q-life and then upload.
but if there is no mail on your online platform asking you to upload medicals , I think you should do fresh one with IOM and attach to their email and send.
This is just my opinion since they are requesting u go to a panel physician.
As for my friend he only sent them mail that says
" my medicals has been on review in progress for several weeks please should i rescan and send to you" after which he added his umi, application number, passport number, dob and name.

Whether you like it or not, they will know he or she is a US citizen. Remember there is a place some where in the application package where they ask if you are a US citizen or Permanent resident? So there is no hiding place. My advice, use anyone that suits you. But if I were you, I will use the US passport.

Supermum:
Hello house,

For a baby who has dual citizenship (Nigerian and American) whose parents are Nigerian and intend to study in Canada, what passport is most advisable to use for visa application.
Does it matter if baby uses her US pp while parents use their Nig pp. some pole have advised against this.
Gurus in the house, what do u advice

I don't know who the person is, btu having a relative in Canada does not stop your TRV. I have an Uncle that is a citizen and i mentioned it in my application...So i guess you are good to go.

favour0011:
Hello house.... I can remember reading here that someone stated on her sop that she'l be living with her relative in canada altru the lenght of her studies and she eventually got the trv despite the strong ties in canada thing. Pls can anyone remember this persons moniker or can share a similar experience. I need some kinda motivation here as I plan on doing same.. thanks guys!

I don't know what you mean by "seep rate form", but you will pay the application fee for visitor's visa and also do medicals for him/her

Supermum:
Hello House,

Team12 and other members who applied with their babies did you have to fill a seep rate form for their visa application? Did you also have to pay for the application and medical fees for them.
Baby is less than a year old.

Thanks

All you need do is submit the request letter and your international passport at the "Pass Back" Counter at the VFS office. Although you will be told to come back in 3 to 5 working days, it may be less than that- mine took 2 days. You will get an email and text that it is ready for collection. Go back to the same counter @ VFS and collect it shikena!

PS: you don't need to pay a dime for passport transmission if you submit your passport at the same VFS where you did your biometrics.

Chars1289:
thanks mam.Can you give me a break down of the process.do I submit and come back for it?

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Team12: 12:24pm On Jun 29, 2015
So there is always an exception to every rule Mr @HayqinsBfX. I have my reasons for posting that statement. There are just some things that are not necessary. Of course you know that every case is different and some VO's don't even care about what you say in your SOP. But you never know whose hands your application will fall. Your friend's TRV is one out of many and I don't think it was the fact that he mentioned strike that convinced the VO as to why he needs to go abroad. There are more matured reasons you can give, always write positively!

I remember seeing it in your SOP and I think I deleted it (except you re-added it), because you had a better reason already stated for studying abroad and the strike thing was not really necessary. More so, you are not going for an Undergraduate program.

At Graduate level, your reasons for furthering your studies in a particular field should go beyond strikes in Nigeira....

In my Opinion Sha. No one has to agree. I just thought to mention it.

hayqinsbFX:
@team12 I agree with yuou to an extent on that.
But when you're going for a program that isn't an obvious progression from your previous studies then some bad words are allowed.
You hav to tell them why ure not satsfied after goiing through almost the same thing here in your country
Thiss would make the know that you're really pained about the state of the educational system and you solely wannnaa go abroad and develop yourself.

I stole a paragraph from a friend that got hs TrV wheree he says the incessant strikes is a major factor of wanting to school aabroad.
Do you think that's paaintng nigeia bad?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Team12: 9:55am On Jun 29, 2015
Hi all,

I just thought to say this on the floor of the house. So people can learn while drafting their SOPs.

I have noticed that people try to paint Nigeria as a lesser country than Canada, by stating that Nigeria has a poor standard of living and education, the country is this and that, bla, bla, bla.

Please even though we all know the state of things in Nigeria, it is not wise to state it in your SOP. It is fine to paint Canada as the best place to study and all the good stuff as a reason for your choice, but leave it at that. We all know that Nigeria has issues and the VOs know it. But don't let it come from you.

Most times we wonder why some of us are denied because of "Home tie", but it might be more than having assets or a family back in Nigeria, your perception about your country matters a lot. Westerners love PATRIOTISM to the core!

If I were a VO, and you tell me bad things about your country in your SOP, I will deny you based on home tie, even though you have assets and family, because as far as I am concerned, why will you want to come back to a country that you think is poor in everything??

My advice is, when stating the reasons for choosing Canada just stop at raining down praises on Canada's economy and standard of education. NEVER say ill about Nigeria....
