Hi guys, pls lets not spoil this PM thing for those that really need help and assistance fa. People should learn to be professional! When I reply a PM and all the person has to say is "Hello, my name is bla bla bla, how are you doing? I will like to know you better..." it makes me wanna puke! So when next I wanna reply a new PM I become extra careful. This is not a platform for pen pals. You ve got facebook and the likes of badoo for all that. Please let's respect and not misuse the tools available for us on this platform...#awordisenough! |

If they are gonna approve ur app, they will request for your result From the hospital. The first update is "Medical under review", then "Passed" then "pp request". You then get your PoE intro letter and application closed! Gu2015: |

It was because of the 5 working days thing i decided to do upfront medicals. I used them for my upfront, but didn't use them for my daughter. SeraSera: |
My guy! I didn't know you were going the Manitoba way o. I guess the Winnipeg guys are increasing. Yes UofM is close to UofW-Same city. sholay2011: |

Hands up! Somehow your Moniker looks like a female's. Please confirm your gender. judnele: |
It takes 5 working days for Consultant practice to send your results to cic. IOM on the other hand sends in 48 hours. For those who want to do medicals for their kids below 5 years, the exam in IOM takes few minutes and it's only 15k . It's only physical exam that is done, and your kid's result is sent to cic immediately (it might even be before you step into your car ).With what I experienced with my daughter's medicals, IOM is the way. I went all the way from the Island to Ikeja, but it was worth it. More space, more friendly and professional staff and quick turn around time! SeraSera: |
@OGreene my hands are up! |

First step is to register your child on the centralised wait list for the province you are headed. You will be able to select schools and add to her profile, that way she is automatically on each school's wait list, then you seat back and pray she gets a space before you resume. Each school will contact you when there is a space available for him or her. With regards to accommodation, you can either go for Family housing on campus or get an accommodation off campus. Check kijiji or rentbaord.ca Booskie88: |
I agree with u 150%. Making a first class was not easy ooo. Life in school was a triangle...class to hostel to church to hostel, but it was worth it in the end. I never stayed in d labour market for one day. I started working immediately after school even before i served 1 year later. The thing is some people with first class are only excellent in academics but lacking in soft skills. In the labour market you need both certificate and soft skills to get a decent job (I mean Multinational). You can make a 1st class all you want, but if you are not eloquent, articulate and able to think outside the box enough to wow your interviewers...sorry is your name o. But in all never rule out the power of favour! Crich: |
I am sure the school has Family Housing that you can apply for. Check the school "housing " website. Or u can also search for accommodation off campus using kijiji.com or rentboard.ca. Since your daughter will be using the uni's child care, the family housing will be a better option, as it is usually close to the child care centre...well in my own case it shares same fence with the child care. Has she gotten a spot at the child care, is she already on the centralised wait list? You need to be fast about it. I registered my daughter on the centralised wait list for my province in October 2014 for September 2015 and she only started getting spaces this month... nattie5: |

Yes. I mean if the total expense is 21,000, you should state that you have may be like 25,000 available for your stay and the amount in your sponsor's account should be more that the 25,000. You feel me? But make sure that the amount you stated as available funds ties with the amount your dad states in his sponsorship letter o (if at all he stated it; and he should state that the 25,000 is the MINIMUM amount per year). Since you have a little brother who is obviously over dependent on your parents, the VO does not expect your parents to spend all their money on you alone... It's good that you have submitted other documents to proof source of future cash flow. That shows that your parents can afford to cover your expenses in subsequent years. So you are covered. Graviton2: |
There you got your red flag. 1. I believe your undergraduate curse is 4 years. 1.5m in your dad's account is not even enough to cover your cost of living of $10,000 (1.6million). not to talk of your tuition and other dependents he has. Since he is a civil servant, i don't expect that you will be able to get significant amount in your account within btwn now and early July. Your best bet is to get a co-sponsor. Look for any relative or family friend of yours that has enough funds that can help. 2. Stating $10,000 as the funds available for you is another issue. If you have been on this thread before applying, you wouldn't have made this mistake. But thank God you are here now. 3. The amount you should state as available funds should cover at least your one year tuition plus living expenses, plus an amount for miscellaneous. e.g: if your tuition per year is $14,000 and cost of living is $10,000, what you should state as funds available should be a minimum of $26,000 to $30,000. This case the VO is sure that you will not be stranded. They don't want pple to become a liability to them. 4. Since you are going for undergraduate, apart from the one year available funds, you need to proof to the VO that your sponsor can afford to pay your tuition and living expenses for subsequent years. This might not necessarily be in form of liquid cash, but investments and any other source of future cash flow. I believe your dad and sponsor's business can cover that. Please add CAC documents for the 2 businesses, SOA's for the 2 businesses (even if the closing balance is Nil, so long as it can show frequency in transactions and cash flow), receipts of transactions, invoices, award of past contracts, share certificates, landed properties and all. 5. Make sure that when your sponsor writes his letter, he should state that he will make available to you a MINIMUM of bla bla bla....Please use the word minimum, this leaves the door open so you are not confined to the exact amount stated as available funds. 6. Also state in clear terms in your own SOP who is responsible for what. I suggest if your co-sponsor's account is more bouyant, state that he will be responsible for all academic related expenses and accmodation, while your dad will take care of other expenses like feeding, clothing and all. ...I think this will work. When I think of something else, I will update. Don't worry, you just need to be fast about getting a co sponsor once that is sorted, it wont be a bad idea to re-apply early july for sept resumption or you might need to defer your admission till January. judnele: |
I modified my earlier post. Pls go back, read thru and provide answers to the questions judnele: |
@Graviton2 Great! Please ensure that the amount you state as available for your stay is higher than your total expenses. Is it UG or PG? Do your parents have other dependent kids? Btw lol! Team12 definitely does not mean 12 children o ....lmao |
Who is your sponsor? And when is school resumption. Applying in July in kinda late, but you never know. The good thing is that financial reasons is the easiest to tackle. 1.How much was in your sponsor's SOA? 2. How much is your estimated expenses for a year? 3. Are you going for UG or PG? 4. What is the length of ur program? 5.How much did you state in your app as funds available for your stay? Please answer these questions to enable us advise u accordingly. In the mean time, if your sponsor is into business, I believe a lot more transactions has taken place since your last app, so his acct balance might be more than it was. However, if it is not significantly higher than before, putting a significant amount into the account for 3 days or 1 week and printing out for a new app will not be seen as lodgement but will look more like usual transaction. Did u add any property docs to ur last app? Docs like share certificate, fixed deposit, pension statement, landed properties can go along way. ***Modified*** judnele: |
