XperienceNaija: In our last street interview, we felt that despite the bad narrative about Nigeria and the inconsistency of our government or leaders in particular, there are still some things that looking at other countries, Nigeria and Nigerians are by far performing best at. We've heard a couple of success stories from different sectors in Nigeria despite the hardship in the nooks and crannies of this nation. Then, we decided to ask this simple question "What do you love about Nigeria?" A lot of responses we got proved that Nigeria can still be developed if well managed by the right set of leaders. This is a 2 minute brief of what several Nigerians told us about what they love about Nigeria. In your own opinion, what would you say you love about Nigeria really?
2dominate: I think i get your point, but their achievements is not something religion can deter you from achieving.
To some point it can. Religion give people a kind of hope n comfort even in the mist of suffering. Alot of Nigerians has accepted their fate in suffering and believe they will get their reward in heaven. Mind you no one has proven heaven to be a real place.
Religion also teach us to obey the govt, even a govt like Nigeria should be obeyed that's why you don't see pastors like Adeboye n the rest never criticising the govt.
Secondly poverty in the land has many so many people weak n hopeless that instead of fighting for our right, we just pray about it even though in real sense prayer doesn't really work but religion teaches us to pray.
2dominate: And what have those Africans that have dropped it achieved?
I'm talking of Africa nations collectively. Nigeria has a population of over 200 million people but atheist n pan africanist are less than 2000. I'm talking of the country collectively, not some few individuals. But to answer your question, the likes of Wole Soyinka is doing well, the likes of Sowore is doing well n fighting for the country too.
Coronabirus: You're just talking ignorantly, do u really know how poor people do their weddings in the North? What did she do wrong? Refusing to wear Hijab isn't immorality but eschewing a law that won't in anyway denounce her faith; immorality, adultery, and alcoholic drink are what hisbah ban. Envy go scatter ur mind. Learn to tolerate people's choice of life. How do u compare the so called imposition of hijab in the North and banning of hijab in the southern schools?
Tirips: Christians forced to wear hijab in the north?
I don't think so.There are Churches in the north and members do not wear hijab to worship. My Church has branches there.
I have stayed in the north. When I say force I don't literally mean they are force at gun point to wear hijab all the time. But as a Christian going to a school own by Muslim will have to wear hijab, I'm not talking of Arabic school o, I'm talking of a normal secondary school. Secondly u can't build church randomly in the north like in the south, they literally have to allot land for churches. Like in jaga kebbi state, it's called church village, that the only place u can build a church in the whole local govt.
People that buy lion n tiger as pet what do u expect from them. When u have too much money u do silly things. U can just wake up one morning build a space ship n go to space.
fenibak: I don't agree with that part, if igbos break away, nigeria would crumble, the only people that might want to stay with the North are the ijaws, but yorubas would surely leave once igbos leave and this is the main reason why Fulanis don't want igbos to leave, igbos are the only tribe holding Nigeria together, I have not seen this kind of blood marriage, joining people together by force, blood has been spilled to keep this zoo one, and for what.. Oil and gas
Most of you don't really know anything about the country u leave in. Ijaw stay with the north, u most be delusional. Besides ijaw doesn't have the final say in Niger delta, they maybe the most vocal, but u have to remember a combination of edo, itsekiri, illaje, the awka ibom n cross river, infact they are lots of stake holders in Niger delta ijaw just happens to be loud. But still no Niger delta stake holder will stay with the north when Ibo leave .
babasolution: But the Edo people will not, they comfortable with the status quo
No one is, but what ever iPod is doing is definitely not it, it will only lead to death of their young men, do we still hear of esn, most of them have been killed n arrested. Look at how nk ended, people are planning and strategising because not everyone come out to shout like iPod doesn't mean they are scared or comfortable.
DOTian: I think people should Stop over criticizing these ones.. Their double standards approach to these things is infuriating but folks should ignore them...Recently some of their elites have started embracing modernity and liberal lifestyles. Go to Abuja and see the same set of people that used to advocate cave existence as the surest route to heaven now living in lavish mansions.. It should be encouraged! Rather than reminding them of how the poor in their society still lives, the poor should also be encouraged to join the new cultural trend.
What I have come to believe in, is that in the far North, cultural trends are set by the elites and the funny looking "royals". If the two groups of people have decided to jump ship and drop their talibanic robes for more "environmentally friendly" outfits, it should be encouraged, if not for any other reason but for the fact that such liberalizing behavior and worldview will actually get to other strata of the northern society and hopefully effect the mindset of those who prefer babaringas and dashikis made of time bombs and suicide vests! Odi egwu really.. .. Wouldn't it be good to see those ones dressed in jeans and T shirts too? Reason am naaah..
Just last yr they almost ate one pretty Fulani actress raw for dressing like this but now that it's an emir daughter, everyone is silent.
bewla: What proof has he present to make you guys believe it's real
To me until he invite me to his house and share his business idea
Na lie
Na yahoo boy na, him house na hk. Didn't u see him say he's housing 19 person. Does 19 persons are yahoo boys too.
They stay up all night texting rich old white vulnerable women. Or they outright deceive people to give them money to invest in crypto currency (binary) as soon as the person pay they block the person.
Jayblaze47: Thank you very much. Those ones talking that new doctors from medical school would replace them can't allow a student doctor give them injection not to talk of surgery
My aunt who's a surgeon told me how she use to be so scared as a young doctor, the with time she summon courage after working with the pros for some yrs.
Mcfi: Good for them ooo. More doctors will surely graduate
Is not by graduating o. They need the experience of the older medical doctors. A young graduate cannot perform surgery. Fear alone will kill them n the patient.
biafranrealson: sometimes, people daydream do you even have 16m , fresh graduate not more than 2 years, to think of MSC in Canada? for niaja jobs , are you connected, do u have 1;1 or 2;1 at most ? though its good to have faith and remained positive but life no easyooo
I don't think u need up to 16m to do masters in Canada.
donlet: As a fresh graduate in Nigeria after the NYSC, is relocating to canada through study Visa to do Msc and possbily getting a canadian PR after graduation better than trying to get a job here in Nigeria.
We all know it quite difficult to get job here but the cost of education in canada too is a factor one has to consider.
What is your take on this?
Let's share opinions.
There's no need to share opinion, the answer is yes
paulolee: killing a pastor inside a church on top d alter?? our GOD is a merciful GOD indeed.... this wickedness hardly happen to a common herbalist in his shrine... sometimes I think its better for GOD to strike them down immediately because this act is too barbaric.... what's d fate of his members knowing dt thier own pastor leader was killed inside the church on d alter of d lord??
