We all need to call out the governor so that his colleagues can call him and FG to action.

I hope you don't mean to cut off their joysticks. If that's the case, then that's very unfair!!! Rape is not women problem alone. Infact it is more against men if I am correct. 90% of men/boys who became sexually active at a young age were molested by an auntie or older girls and since it has to do with a child, it is called child molestation/rape. so if that happens, how do you castrate her?. YOU CAN NOT PRESCRIBE PUNISHMENT THAT CAN ONLY BE CARRIED OUT ON A MAN TO AN OFFENCE THAT CAN BE COMMITTED BY BOTH MAN AND WOMAN. That's inequality. Later you will come and be shouting gender equality. See dem Feminists promoting gender equality. Where una dey

It's really funny that a lot of people here are so sure it's the mother that was drunk, while others were sp sure that it's the daughter. The truth is, both groups are correct. The statement is contracted, thus became ambigious. If we expand the statement, then we can get the specific meaning. For example, these 2 statements can be deducted or inferred:

A mother beat hee daughter because the daughter was drunk

Or

A mother beat her daughter because the mother was drunk.
Forum Games / Re: Is This Murder Or Suicide by techJ: 6:53am On Dec 07, 2017

It's suicide. The idiot invested in the stock market, and when it experienced a dip, the trauma was too much on him so he scattered everything in the office, cursing and swearing and when he couldn't take it anymore he killed himself with a bullet to the head.

Nobody should argue with me pls. After all, I should be sleeping now.

You are correct. The man probably invested heavily in share/stock. The downward trend in the graph on the screen explains why he was frustrated after losing all his investment. He tried to drown his frustration with alcohol. after scattering his office for obvious reasons, he smashed the bottle on the wall and decided to end it all since he could not rid the pain, shame and frustration with alcohol. He then ended it all by shooting himself in the head at very close range. The running man outside was just an innocent passersby who, on hearing the sound of gunshot, took to his heels for safety.
Religion / Re: I Just Gave My Tithe To A Beggar. Was I Wrong? by techJ: 6:27pm On Oct 08, 2017
bedspread:

It's Wonderful to give to the poor... INFACT the Bible specifically talks about dt.

But Your Tithe is not a gift. Neither is it your money. Your Tithe is GOD's SHARE of your Money. And He Directs where it should be taken to. See Malachi 3:10

I think it is you who need to read about the origin of tithe, reason for giving it and who it is meant for.

Deuteronomy 14:22-29 specifically gave the principles that govern tithing. In fact it was emphatic on why Levites (I believe those are the people we regard as Pastors/Men of God today) are entitle to tithes which is because THEY HAVE NO INHERITANCE/PROPERTIES and they were even the ones mentioned last in the list.

@OP: I believe you have done as God commanded but you can read the above scriptures for avoidance of doubt. Our Pastors will never quote this place because it negates their claim to tithes. Stay blessed.

Religion / Re: As A Christian, Is Court Wedding In Place Of Church Wedding Acceptable By God? by techJ: 1:48pm On Sep 10, 2017
Cyynthia:
You must Wed in the church, any marriage that is not ordained by God through a priest is not recognized by God.

That is a big lie. "Church wedding" is a sham, and in most cases, a bold-faced lie, which is a sin against God.

why is it a lie? because there is no place in the Bible or history where it is an instruction from God, whether directly or indirectly, that a wedding should be officiated in the temple and by a priest. No! it is between families of the 2 people involved. So if your pastor tells you that church wedding is what you must do, it is probably because he want crowd in the church or he want more offering not because it is an instruction from God. Some even go as far as conducting it without the consent of the parents which is against God's law that backed traditional marriage customs (which makes it a disobedience to God's ordinance.

It is MOSTLY a lie and thus a sin because most church marriages are conducted with the IMPRESSION that the bride and the groom are "untouched", thus the wearing of white wedding gown, which we all know, in most cases, is a bold-faced lie. What makes it worse is that the lie is told in God's presence (the Church) and backed by a man of God. They even go as far as punishing a couple with a pregnant bride-to-be (but is ready to do the right thing by going ahead to marry each other) by not conducting their wedding and would rather join another couple with no pregnant bride but whose hands and white is not just stained, but drenched with the blood of aborted pregnancies just to do the "prestigious church wedding".

I am not against conducting wedding in the church, white to me is more of a Thanksgiving Service for a newly wedded couple in my opinion. Traditional Wedding is the one recognised by God according to the bible and according to biblical history. Every other after it is just an INSIGNIFICANT elaborate PARTY. Nothing more.

I don't even know what to say. I guess the expression a suspect remains a suspect until he's found guilty in the court of law doesn't apply to Nigerians. Anytime someone is suspected to have committed an offence, whether it's true or not, set them ablaze or beat them to pulp. A typical Nigerian doesn't have a single respect for the judicial system. Damn we got a long way to go embarassed

Before you all come for my head, I'm not supporting this animal (if he's guilty), but instead of taking laws into your hands, why can't you hand him over to police and come up with convincing evidences and witnesses that will get him jailed for 25 years to life

This issue of innocent until proven guilty by a court of law is indeed a mad saying. Someone was caught in the act and you are still saying he is a suspect.

I am sure this saying was brought up so that lawyers can eat and not out of concern for the truly innocent. That statement is really flawed. That is why you see so many innocent being condemned just because they don't have money for a good Defense Counsel and many guilty individuals (and those caught in the act with proof) discharged and acquitted because he has money to get himself the best Defense Counsel he can get.
Career / Re: Workers Accuse American Oil Firm Of Violating Local Content Act by techJ: 6:38am On Nov 28, 2016
Something needs to be done about all these foreign companies coming here to shortchange Nigerians. This is the 2nd time I am reading about this on Nairaland. First it was Huawai and now its Weatherford International. This injustice should be investigated and the company sanctioned if found guilty.

What is the job of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, what are our Labour and Trade Union doing about this, what happened to all our Human Right lawyers (I guess all they chase after are cases that have the potential of giving them publicity).

This needs to stop. Our House of Reps and Senate will not order an investigation into this, all they care about is Constituency projects money and allowances and make empty noise on the floor of the house.

Nigerian youths need to wake up and fight for their rights as citizen. These people should not treat us as trash in their country and get away with it and still come here to treat us the same way in our country and still get away with it.

Nigerians, wake up!!!!!

How come Saudi Arabia is not in recession

Because (1) their oil facilities are not being destroyed by militants thereby destroying their source of income as a nation, and that's besides the fact that their crude oil desposit is more than Nigeria's.

And (2) The amount of money people (pilgrims) take to their country in the name of Hajj (tourism) alone is another reason; to mention but a few.

No pun intended please, it's just a straight answer to the quoted question.

It is the Niger Delta Republic that is turning to Somalia even before its creation.

You see, those asking for secession in Nigeria can never be trusted!!

They are doing so for selfish reasons and not for the common good of the people they claim to fight for. Take all the Niger Deltan past War Lords and Militant heads for example. They are now very rich at the expense of their people.

Remember that 5k promise by buhari? This is the same thing. You all don't ask sensible questions when policies are being proposed. In a normal society, this bill will be awesome when and if passed, but this is Nigeria. How are they going to fund it is the first question that comes to mind. How are they going to ensure that corruption does not overtake it's good intentions? Nigerians, for God's sake, ASK QUESTIONS. Don't let poverty cloud good judgement and common sense.

This is not a promise, but an action that is already in process. It is done in the UK and other developed countries to help citizens who can't really afford proper education. In fact, it will even compel government to create more jobs since you can only pay back when you are working and paying back means the funds will be available for others who also need such facility.
