Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by TechRev: 5:29pm On Aug 06, 2012
@Kobojunkie

Mr Bakare has every right to worship his God how ever he deems fit. He is free to criticize the Government how ever he likes even he can critic DR GEJ as much as he wants, he can even try to replace GEJ governemt (through elections of course). Let him show up come 2015, lets see you come down from USA to vote him.
For him to feel urgency in his quest and decide not to wait for election, shows the height of his desperation and his conviction he wont get votes more than his church congregation, and maybe you from the US of course. Even now that votes count he still cant wait till elections?? LWKMD
The way he is going, am sure he sleeps and dreams of GEJ wakes up sees GEJ in the mirror every where GEJ GEJ. Its a very sad life to live.

Kobojunkie: So, Christ his Lord was against God anointing David to become a politician then because according to you, Christ His Lord said his kingdom is not of this world and worked all through his life on earth to prepare people for his kingdom. undecided undecided undecided undecided

So, going by your dissection there, Christ His Lord, who did not build Orphanages, homes for the destitute or skills acquisition centers is also against prophets who do so on this earth?

** shudders**
What actually is your point kobo??

Christ never tried to topple change the government of the day, and he did preach against the ill done by everyone, he never single out Herod or any particular person. As for those that build orphanages etc, Go read the 7 beatitudes.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by TechRev: 4:48pm On Aug 06, 2012
Kobojunkie: Um . . . Bakare turned his church into political launchpad? before or after the election? undecided undecided Cause Bakare has been doing this since the Abacha years -- we are talking not less than 15 years.
Did he turn it into politics ? yes or no? Later deal with when he actually turn it to so. If Christ His Lord said his kingdom is not of this world and worked all through his life on earth to prepare people for his kingdom, i wonder why Bakare is obsessed with GEJ government?? Now he is even going too far to mock and ridicle two groups of people, the Niger Deltans and nigerians that are poor. When even the bible said when you mock the poor you mock their creator.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by TechRev: 4:24pm On Aug 06, 2012
kingoflag: First off, hypocrite, Pastor Bakare is not Jesus.

Second, isn't it the same Jesus who (when he could no longer bear that People were as dense in the head as a lot of you) took matters into his own hands and went one-man-gang on those that had turned the Temple to a Market place?

So what are you trying to sell us, buddy?!

Nigerians, your temple has been desecrated and turned into a market place, and until you take matters into your hands, you will no doubt suffer in great numbers for generations to come!
If Jesus did this to ppl that turned the temple to market place?? What will he say to pastors that turned the temple to political launchpad? Was it Jesus that said my "my kingdom is not of this world" when the people expected him to liberate them from the Romans??

PoliticsRe: How To Properly Insult David Mark by TechRev: 10:29am On Jul 31, 2012
By Rudolf Ogoo Okonkwo

“We need to change our attitude on how we report things about our country and we should emulate the foreign reporters who never report negative things about their countries. – David Mark, Nigeria Senate President, complaining about social media being used to insult Nigerian leaders in a speech to reporters covering the Nigerian Senate.

I’m going to use some bad words in this column. If you cannot stomach them, please stop reading.

Right now.

Thank you.

I do not waste my thoughts on some Nigerian politicians. Despite their antics and cries for attention, I dismiss this bunch of political actors. Some are so rotten that I consider them irredeemable. Some are so insignificant in the overall reformation scheme that I feel they will wither away as soon as the cord of corruption is cut off. Some are nothing but stagnant balls of smoke made of sheer ignorance. Mr. David Mark was one of them. But he shouldn’t be.

On a second thought, David Mark is much more than all of the above. He is not just irredeemable. He is also contaminating. He is not just insignificant. His dirty fingers are scratching the canvas of Nigeria. He is not just a stagnant smoke of ignorance on Nigeria’s sky. He is also in motion.

In short, David Mark is a lucky bastard. And nothing is scarier than a government of lucky bastards in the life of a nation.

Mr. Mark went in front of reporters that cover the senate, men and women that he has pocketed, to complain that the social media is used by faceless people to insult Nigerian leaders like him. He grumbled that these disgruntled operators of social media have no way of retracting their stories. His solution: that the government should control social media to stop its users from insulting leaders like him.

What the likes of David Mark do not know is that social media does not operate in a vacuum. It needs content to exist. And social media content is provided by people like David Mark.

Social media thrives on the idiosyncrasies, excesses and stupidity of politicians and celebrities. Those in the limelight who do not wish to be in the spotlight of social media should retire to their villages and wait for death. For instance, nobody in social media is losing sleep over Arthur Nzeribe, who is currently at his Oguta home awaiting death. David Mark can do the same in one of his homes in Benue, Ghana, Caribbean, the US, Belize, the UK, Ireland etc.

For those unfamiliar with the pedigree of the senate president, here is it in brief. David Mark is a leader in that class of miseducated men and women who rode the wave of unaccountable leadership, looting and ruining Nigeria until the nation became a failure. These are the men and women who failed Nigeria with such a staged craftsmanship that the nation they failed works perfectly well for them. If Nigeria were a tree, these men and women cut the tree and told it where to fall.

David Mark is a lucky bastard. Not even one of the 400,000 people of his other country, Belize, will nominate him to be a janitor for their senate.

Even though he believes that a sergeant in the army is better than a university graduate, nobody knows if Mr. Mark can write his name. But we know that he can open offshore accounts in New Jersey and the Cayman islands. We know that is the place he hid most of the Gulf oil windfall for himself and his boss, Babangida. We know that is where he hid proceeds from NITEL deals he cooked up as Minister of Communication when he famously said that poor people had no need for phones and as such he siphoned the money allocated to his ministry. We know that he spent about 6 million British pounds sterling to purchase significant interest in the 18-hole St Margaret’s Golf Club in Ireland. We know he owns a 2.5 million British pounds sterling home on Thames River in London. We know he has millions and millions of pounds sterling in trust for his numerous children and wives all over Europe and America. We know this because his nasty divorce from wife number five, Victoria Preye, exposed some of his hidden investments.

Despite his enormous stolen wealth, here is what David Mark’s epitaph will say. “Here lies a man who admired the trappings of Western civilization but was ignorant of its tenets.” It is the same epitaph for Idi Amin, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida and Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga.

On top of David Mark’s head roves a giant question mark. When he opens his mouth remarkable gaffes gush out. It is a mark of complete genuflection of a nation that such a scion of corruption is at the head of the upper house of the people’s assembly. His bland mind marketed as diplomatic is impervious of his environment. Otherwise he would have noticed from his hospital bed that it was Israeli media that kept the heat on until former Israeli President Moshe Katsav was sentenced to seven-years for rape.

David Mark is a shameless hypocrite who has absolute disdain for Nigeria. That such an uninspiring character is angling for the presidency of Nigeria is a testament to the hopelessness of the Nigerian project. Put aside his pedigree, Nigeria’s number three man is as shallow as they come. Otherwise he would have heard that it was Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of the Washington Post newspaper that singlehandedly exposed President Richard Nixon as a crook and forced him to resign.

David Mark is old enough to know that “the only countries where newspapers are full of good news are those counties where the prisons are full of good people.” If David Mark is just ignorant, I won’t be scared. I will simply hope that soon, like other ignoramuses like him ruining Nigeria, he will die off with his stupidity and leave Nigeria to its fate. But David Mark is much more than ignorant. He is deliberately manipulative and mischievous. And that is dangerous.

David Mark is a lucky bastard. If an American newspaper places its searchlight on him for just 24 hours, as soon as the report comes out, Interpol, FBI, Scotland Yard, KGB, SSS, MSS, BNI, ICPC, EFCC etc will all be fighting over whose handcuffs will be on David Mark’s hands, legs, waist and ankles.

Mr. Mark hates a marketplace of ideas because he has no confidence in his own opinion. So he dislikes any media that challenges his opinion and tries to hold him accountable. He has been so used to being worshiped that any deviation from that is considered demeaning and insulting. For Mark and his likes, not appending to their names their fake doctorate degrees or their worthless grand commander of a corrupt and crumbling federal republic is already an insult in and of itself. But Mark is perfectly retaining his right to insult Nigerians, disrespect them and treat them as imbeciles who have no idea what one plus one is.

This is why David Mark does not like the social media. He cannot buy them over. He cannot pay them retainership to publish only favorable stories about him. He cannot get them to submit drafts of their stories to his office for approval before publication.

He cannot fly them to an expensive resort hotel and give them lectures on how to do their job as the Fourth Estate. He is mad because he cannot stop social media from writing what one of his six wives said in anger.

Mr. Mark loves the compromised media that does not ask him what he does for Nigeria for which he gets paid over N600 million a year. He loves the compromised media that will quote him as saying, “I will defend Nigeria’s unity with the last drop of my blood,” but won’t ask him why he renounced Nigeria’s citizenship to become a citizen of Belize when his investment in that country was threatened. He loves the compromised media that will not ask why he loves Nigeria so much but will rather go to Israel for a minor medical treatment.

David Mark is a lucky bastard. The best way to properly insult him is to ignore him. That is what I will go back to doing now that I have let out steam.

Chai chai Oyi n'atu m oohhh. Cold catshhhh me as i read am. Now where is that David Mark or his media assistant abi he no get media assistant??
PoliticsRe: Richard Branson- Nigerian Politicians Are Insane, & Dream Killers by TechRev: 6:34pm On Jul 29, 2012
@Billioniar, I agree with you. But I also think Mr Richard doesnt want to bend or modify the principles guiding him, or should i say he could not live with his conscience of having to go as low with nigeria politicians. The summary is that he made a mistake in buying Nigeria carrier, he should have partnered with a nigerian that understands the nigerian way of doing business, and he is even making a bigger mistake saying never to do business with nigeria again. Most of them know Nigeria is a gold mine, but the problem is how to mine the gold.
I have still admired Mr Richard for sticking with his principles.
And I admire most people like you (billionair) and I and all other Nigerian entrepreneurs, the tough skin no be small thing.

4reigningqueen: It all started last week sunday when he said this weeks message will be titled HOW TO CHANGE GOVERNMENT AND MAKE THE SOCIETY BETTER, the congregation, including the press, came with expection to hear how Pastor Tunde Bakare is going to cause commotion by leading the people against the government. He started the sermon by announcing that he was going to plead guilty to any charges that may arise as a result of what he was going to say.The sermon was divided into 4 heading which were who truly rules, purpose of the government, how to change government and the way forward. Before he started,he gave two of his prophesies that came to past,i.e Abachas death and that of sultan of sokoto, then came the bombshell: "THERE WILL BE AN ELECTION BEFORE 2015" which will lead to a change of government from that of Jonathan. He then added "dont ask me how its going to happen,it is God".Well, time will definately tell.
And so whats the big deal?? there was election in ogun state yesterday, there will be many elections before 2015. He didnt say presidential election. Useless noise!!

PoliticsRe: Fulani Herdsmen Attack Enugu Community by TechRev: 10:19am On Jul 19, 2012
namfav: this is a way to survive, i am confident that any herdsman will protect himself and his family but also when herdsmen are provoked and attacked it pains me but do not think that herdsmen are cowards, who are you to tell someone else to stop feeding himself? do herdsmen stop farmers from farming? do herdsmen have a negative impact on the agricultural sector of nigeria? on the contrary, herdsmen contribute a lot of positivity to the agricultural sector of nigeria, if you are threatening us that we are an endangered culture in nigeria then you are mistaken, go and ask the birom who thought killing innocent herdsmen will bring them security
they way you speak it is as if the herdsmen are provoking farmers, that is totally wrong, in the past we have heard of people accusing herdsmen of raping women to get people to attack herdsmen but when herdsmen retaliate and re act it is always herdsmen accused of being the side which started the conflict
Mr Namfav, you are doing a very bad job here. I have friends that are hausa/fulanis, i do business with them, the ones i have met are good people. But you are way out of point here, herds men dont prevent farmers from farming but they destroy what they would have produced after months of tilling. Its a pity you have to defend their behavior unreasonably. If they kept their cattle on the bush and not enter communities or farms i dont think there would be any problems of who killed who. Even if its your tribe that is wrong it wont hurt you to accept that they crossed the line. It is wrong to kill, but its also wrong to destroy a farmer's source of livelihood and show no apology or compensation. What baffles me is why your governors cant provide grazing fields for them. What are they even doing? Very very wrong. Enough said.

Foreign AffairsRe: Syrian Defense Minister Killed In Suicide Blast by TechRev: 4:46pm On Jul 18, 2012
Russia is secretly helping Assad and openly defending him, US is doing same for the Rebels. With the might of syrian army and the under equiped rebels one would think it will take very long for the rebels to topple the government as was done in Libya. I am really suprised the rebels could pull off what they did today. I suspect a mole in Assad circle. Three ministers wiped in one blow. In any case Assad is going down, its just a matter of time.

BTW image how life could be living in damascus right now. War! War! War! War! Its better imagined than to witness it. But then if you want long and enduring peace, you must be ready for War. Cruel world.

RomanceNigerian Women Are Most Unfaithful In The World - Why?? by TechRev(op): 11:47am On Jul 16, 2012
A survey conducted by condom manufacturer, Durex, in which 29,000 people in 36 countries were interviewed has ranked Nigerian women as the most unfaithful in the world.

According to the survey, Thailand men are the most unfaithful in the world, with 54 percent of them admitting to cheating on their spouses. South Korea came in second with 34 percent, while Malaysia ranked number three with 33 percent.

The survey revealed that the top two countries with cheating women are Nigeria, with 62 percent, and Thailand, 59 percent.

39 percent of Malaysian women also confessed to having betrayed their partners. Russian women came fourth at 33 percent while Singaporeans are fifth at 19 percent.

An independent survey also conducted in Africa by AE affirms the fact that Nigeria with a polulation of over 160 million tops the chart for cheating women. Corruption and a general distrust amognst citizens is largely responsible for this.

Why these kaduna ppl no dey carry last. I admire such brave act.
PoliticsYouths Captured Boko Haram Members In Kaduna by TechRev(op): 11:28am On Jul 16, 2012
Youths confronted three gun-totting Boko Haram members who invaded Mahuta, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis on Sunday. Prior to this incident, a 20-year-old innocent boy was said to have been killed by these Boko Haram members, and that was all that initiated the reactions of these furious youths.

The brave youths overpowered and arrested two of the terrorists, aged 17 and 22, who had gone to the compound of the District Head of Afaka, Alhaji Abdulwahab, in a bid to kill him.

The Boko Haram members were bearing an AK-47 rifle at the time they invaded two neighbouring Rigasa and Mahuta communities on a motorcycle at 9a.m.

According to an eyewitness, “The gunmen came and said they were looking for the ‘Hakimin Mahuta’ (District Head of Mahuta), disguising as members of his subjects. So, when they allowed them into the house, the ‘Hakimin’ was not comfortable with them, so he ran back inside.

“The suspects ran after him and shot at him severally, but their shots missed him, instead a small boy, Nura was hit. When they discovered that the ‘Hakimin’ had escaped through the back exit, they came back outside and picked their bike and trailed him to Mahuta.”

On getting to Mahuta, the three gunmen started shooting sporadically, but the youths dared them. They moved nearer, even as they were firing at them. An elder in the community, who identified himself as Mallam Abdullahi, said “the young gunmen came on a bike and started shooting, but having discovered that our youths were ready for them, they started withdrawing into the bush and the youths were closing in on them with bare hands”.

According to Abdullahi, “at a point, their bullets got finished and they loaded another round of ammunition, but despite that, the youths were able to apprehend two of the three gunmen, while the last one ran away.”
It was gathered that seven of the youths sustained various degrees of gun wounds but none of them died. They are said to be responding to treatment in a Kaduna hospital.

Speaking on the action of the youths, the Mahuta Ward Head, Alhaji Yusuf Muhammed Mahuta, said the community had long resolved to collectively rise up against terrorists and jealously protect every member of the community against hoodlums.
