Your figure seems exaggerated. Who spends 2m naira to get to Brazil? Brazil visa cost 36k, return flight from Nigeria to Brazil is less than 500k. You shouldn't spend more than 600k to land in Brazil if you follow the normal route. There's are still cheaper route people take throught Cape Verde and Ecuador. 80k minimum wage in Brazil with get u a stay in SP which I can break down for u. You can also do two jobs. A day that can bring you to double earnings. You can get accommodation for 350 Reais Unlimited home wifi internet for 50 Reais Light bill for 70 Reais (for stable 24hrs power supply) Water and gas bill for 80 Iptu 50 That's total to = 600reais. Which means a minimum wage earner can live alone comfortably in Sao Paulo state. How many minimum wage earners can afford unlimited wifi in Nigeria? Not to mention living alone on their salary in Lagos city? Despite the covid ravaging Brazil's economy they've managed their currency not loosing much value... If Nigeria had Brazil's present covid challenge what do you think the value of the naira will be right now? $1 was 360 naira a year ago it's presently #480 naira. Nigeria printed 60bn naira to share to states in March and no means to make it back. You can read more on it in this link: https://www.gazettengr.com/no-oil-money-again-fg-printed-n60bn-to-share-in-march-obaseki/If you have a good plan and you want to help your situation in Brazil, there are many digital skill that you can learn to earn online. Brazil affords you 24hrs light, cheap data, affordable yet comfortable accommodation and plenty of food and snacks. You don't even need a legal document to earn digitally in Brazil so take advantage. Maybe you don't know it's now more expensive to live in Nigeria than in Brazil cos house rent in Nigeria has doubled yet the living condition is halved. |

But Brazil is a third world country and thats it The present state of Nigerian makes Brazil feel like a first world. We hope for the best for the future of our country. |

Osasu007: My brother, pls don't even bother arguing with anyone, especially those who don't even know their way to international airport at Lagos. My purpose here is to enlighten those who are coming to Brazil for the purpose of making money. Think again! How sure are you that there aren't Nigerians in Brazil doing fine on basic pay? minimum wage in Brazil is 1000 reais( about 80k naira). We had a cleaning lady that cleaned our Airbnb stay once a week and she earns 150reais per clean. The longest time she's spent cleaning shouldn't be more than 3hrs There's opportunity in Brazil to work and earn a living but you'll need to be a legal resident first and then you need to know the language. We had work opportunity we didn't take cos were sure we will be returning to Nigeria immediately the flight restrictions were lifted. I also keep contacts with a Nairalander that's new in Brazil presently earning a living there and with a Nigerian that takes private English tutoring classes. If you're not looking to 'blow' or finding money wey 'choke' you will be fine in Brazil. |

oluayebenz: Nobody is comparing nigeria with brazil, brazil is far developed with good infrastructures but guess what, brazil is still a third world country...... If Brazil is 3rd world country then what is Nigeria presently? All the time I was at the Policia Federal office in Lapa we were all attended to orderly. Every one appllied themselves and the process was done smoothly. No 'arrangee', no 'padi-padi'. When I did my docs I didn't understand much Portuguese words so I couldn't follow the spoken instructions but the attendants didn't react harshly nor did dey bark instructions at me out of annoyance. Despite not being a citizen I was well treated I was in Nigerian Immigration Service Ikoyi office on Tuesday to renew my Nigerian passport using the self-service (Servicom) method and they kept delaying my process by dropping my files, replying rudely to enquire I made cos they were busy fast tracking almost 90% of applicants that paid double the amount I paid to agents. They kept frustrating me just to discourage what is supposedly the right method to apply for the passport. While I was in line to capture, light were outs for 2hrs and no fuel to power the generator so we had to wait in line in the hot office sweating. Imagine the immigration office having a 2hrs blackout and the whole office acting like it's not an issue. |

Soccer1920: Good Morning to you all... Justwise, Giselle, Alert and all gurus here ... I hail you all for the good work you guys are doing here.. Kudo to you.
I was a silent unregistered user not until this morning that I needed to make an enquiry... Funny enough , I followed the instructions on here as at when I applied for my UK Visa in 2019 and Visa was granted. Thanks once again.
My enquiry goes thus: I got my UK Visa in April 2019 and travelled in May for 10 days. Proir embarking on my second trip in September, I applied for a visiting Visa to visit my uncle in Trinidad and Tobago and Visa was also granted so I quickly booked a ticket from Nigeria - London- Trinidad. On getting to Trinidad I applied for a ministers permit and it was granted but during the process of applying for permit my return ticket expired and I had the plan to fly through other means. I am still gainfully employed with the company in Nigeria and was working remotely from Trinidad and my monthly salary drops every month into my First bank account .
Unfortunately, Covid 19 lockdown started here in February 2020 and till today there's still flight restrictions, Infact you cannot travel unless the government approves it.
To cut the story short, I wish to visit Nigeria in May 2021.
1. Can I apply for a UK Transit Visa or renew my Visa here in Trinidad so as to ease my stress of connecting flights ? If yes.
2. Can I use my first bank account where my salary drops for the Visa application here in trinidad? or I can just push some money into my Trinidad account here for the application.
3. Can I apply for 2 years Visa from here.
Hoping to hear from you ... Thanks . If you only want to travel throught the UK to Nigeria then you can apply for a Direct Airside Transit Visa. The visa allows you to board a flight in the UK. I used BA when I was coming to Nigeria from Brazil and that's what I used to board at Heathrow. I paid for my return BA flight ticket from Brazil to Nigeria then use the flight information to apply for my transit Visa and it was issued. The visa is also valid for 6 months |

Someone I know was recently denied entry into the UK, She was refused entry cos of covid test. The Border police said her Covid result is fake but she argued she did the test so I want to ask if she gets a suspension/exclusion from the UK?
If truly she did the covid test is it advisable she contest the decision? |

Nwebele: Do you live in Brazil? Is your submission based on practical evidencial facts or from theoretical research? I would not argue with you. I am just few months in Brazil and open to learning but I got my information from friends and family living here. Infact, a friend runs a salon here and she boasts that she is doing well. I have also seen brazilians patronize her business. I ran accoss another friend of a friend who owns a shop here and he is very okay. I know another who imports toys from US and other places and his shop is always busy. I gave my advice based on what those who live here told me, including an executive in the Nigeria community forum. My assertion is open to verification. Thanks I think it's best to ignore that guy. All his post on nairaland is on this thread and they are against everything the thread is about so you can see through the post to know who really is behind it. You dey Brazil dey see how e be and can tell if he's truthful. They are trying to kill the thread and they are very happy as the embassy is on break. Ijeamaka1: Congrats.
How's life in Itaquera? If you've been to Centro, SP or Centro, Guarulhos, how does Itaquera compare to both places? My first stop was Guarulhos stayed in an hotel for 3 days then I moved to Indianapolis, moema to stay in an air b n b for 10days with my family before I got an apartment at itaquera, itaquera is a nice and quiet place although it’s not Behind like moema where the nouveau rich stay but it’s safe , centro is like the hustling place From your description, it seems Itaquera is similar to Guarulhos. I stayed in Guarulhos for a month, though it's safe, quiet, relatively affordable though not as modern or highbrow like places I stayed in Sao Paulo city centre thus I'm looking for a city that's a balance between both Sao Paulo city and Guarulhos. Since you've stayed in both Guarulhos and Itaquera... What made u decide to settle down in Itaquera? Stay safe, I wish you and you family all the best of life in Brazil. *Pardon my many questions |

Plus my passport is still virgin If your enquiry was before covid I won't advice you to apply but now that they will ask you to get health insurance which is you commiting to healthcare cost before travelling that's why I suggest you apply. Everything else is your decision either you choose to apply or not. Alternatively, you can visit the embassy. The application period isn't fixed but I think it is faster now. Someone applied in September and was called for interview the next day while my interview last year was after a month from d day I applied. I'm not an agent, if you send me PM I can't get it... I'm only trying to help cause I got help here for free. I would say you visit the Embassy and make enquiry to know what is perculiar in your situation. |

Casserole: Sir please let us encourage people to do things in a civil manner although I encourage people to take their chances 100% but sum1 having a protruding stomach showing up at the embassy applying for tourist visa is just not right these people know whats up and aren't stupid they myt deny the app and cases like this becomes a problem 4the next person & soils the little reputation that we don't have left. All the best sir Nothing says a pregnant woman can't be on tour. The embassy now ask you to get health insurance which means you already make provision incase the need for healthcare while on your trip happens. The introduction of health insurance could mean that the tourist won't be using the public healthcare so the obvious pregnancy might not be an issue. |

Depending on the city and the type of accommodation you are looking for; If you want to live in Sao Paulo city in a kitchenette prepare about 1.5 - 2k reais outside SP city you can get 800-1.2k reais for similar space. It can get cheaper the father u move from the Sao paulo city centre and then gets high as you near the beach. |

I wanted to try this route for delivery but my delivery came around the corona virus time so traveling was out. Now I've given birth, my baby is 3 months now and I have an 8ywar Olaf and a 6year old. Can my hubby and I work to be able to survive with study visa? Hi mryoung16. I have seen your question since the first day you posted it. I was hoping someone will answer. Your question seem very simple but actually complex. Before i tell you what i know, i would like to point out that i am not a guru. I am just a simple person who was blessed enough to give birth in Brazil. Let me guid you to find the answer for your self.
Assignment: Simply go to the Brazilian consulate website and see the type of visas or permit they issue. If they issue Permanent residency then it is a yes to your question.
My little knowledge: Unfortunately, Brazilian consulates do not issue permanent residency. Only the Polícia Federal in Brazil can receive, process and issue permanent residency and you need to apply in person in Brazil.
So a simple answer to your question: No, you cannot apply for permanent residency at the Brazilian consulate.
Alternative: that does not mean that if you leave Brazil without applying for it, you are disqualified. I can guide you on what to do here on this platform but let keep that for another post. This is becoming too long already. Cheers I saw NL notification that you sent a PM. I don't have access to my registered mail so I wouldn't be able to reply it. On your question, I don't know anything on schooling in Brazil. I think the embassy in Nigeria assist people that want to come to school in Brazil as they provide Portuguese classes at the embassy. You can make your enquiry there or you search online for schools and their entry requirements. To get a job in Brazil you will need to have an understanding of the language. |

Adjo10: Hello Sonsynas, don't be confused. You are simply reading about a visa that does not exist anymore. “Permanent visas” which used to be obtained at Brazilian consulates Not “permanent Permit” have been stopped in the 2017 immigration reform.
Unfortunately a lot of info out there are in reference to immigration rules before June 2017. Check the date of the article. I’m sure it is in the past. You can get the best current advice from the many members here who have given birth recently. When you read immigration rules about Brazil online, also pay attention to the date of the information.
All the best in your journey.
Cheers So we got our PR... Thanks to all those that helped on/off this thread; @afelouz, @ajokeomo and others that has helped through the process Thank you @adjo10 @samuelsoma ... I say Muito Obrigado to you all. |
