ddooskie: As a prospective parent, a question I have been itching to ask people who give birth abroad is how they handle child care without help from a relative, you know that traditionally, in Nigeria, the mother-in-law comes over for the first three months or so to help cater for the new born and the new mum as well. I bathed my daughter, cooked our meals, did shopping, cleaning and all necessary as madam delivered through CS and shouldn't have to do any stressful chores atm. Youtube helped with the bathing, I even used palm-oil to bath her despite being a first time dad so I believe when you reach that hurdle alone you will learn how to cross it. |

Beautifulsenora: Hello Everyone, I am glad to be here, I would like to have my child in brazil and would like information on how to find a hospital as well as the cost breakdown of the hospital expenses. Thanks Search with google chrome for hospital in Brazil or choose a specific city you would like to birth your child and search for hospitals in that city. You would see several hospitals and their websites. Visit the website on google chrome and let it translate the webpage from Portuguese to English then check for their contact forms or email and send them a message stating your intentions. Most of the hospitals will respond to you with a quotation. I got this one from ILHA Hospital e Maternidade. You can search them too, they are a top hospital in Florianópolis/SC.

Not blaming anybody .. na me make the decision .. The person you quoted wrote a lie. He wrote as a wife that her husband applied for the visa on her behalf but his earlier posts reveal him as a man. Brazil does not have any thing like birthing visa on their site and they will interview you if they suspect your primary mission is to give birth there. The do have a medical visa and someone earlier wrote on this thread that he applied for medical visa so that his wife can go to Brazil to give birth and his application was rejected. *This is one of his post on NL as a man that he is so do not be deceived. His sole mission is to make sure you don't get the visa like him. I called his lies out but he never replied me to dispel it.

During a tourist visit, can I travel with my desktop computer or will it be a problem at the airport? I work freelance/remote for a living and leaving it behind is going to impact my earnings.
Looking forward to a reply. Articles online says you can travel with a desktop computer in a checked-in baggage as long as it does not exceed the weight limit but consider that it might damage or lost. IMO, I won't advice it cos I consider it a home electronic and it will give an impression of a potential overstayer at the POE and you can be questioned on why u need to bring a Desktop for a short stay. Once you want to start your travel lifestyle, try get a travel laptop that you can sync with your desktop to continue your work while away from home. |

dehiero: 2m not good enough? Return ticket to Brazil is like 550-600k. Add accommodation, transportation, feeding, covid screening cost and touristic acts cost which should be summing up to about 1M so you should apply enough money in your account to show that the tour won't eat everything you worked for. You have to do everything right to give your application an approval. |

I've read from page 1 and now I'm here to share my opinion
Many posters kept asking why the 6 SUVs pirchase matter to the case but I think it does.
The purchase of 6 SUVs in a day with cash will instinctively tell that the accuse is part of a snuggling or money laundering ring cos he couldn't have come into America with the cash used in the purchase so he definitely is moving money by converting them to accessories (SUVs in this case) and this helps the prosecutors determine the criminal nature of this individual. Due to this act they already profile him as fearless and boastful criminal that believes he can always get away with any criminal act cos how can someone visiting the US for the first time perfect tha act to smuggle a whole 6 SUVs worth of cash?
They would have also questioned his source of funds to these purchases and if he kept lying then they would doubt any argument he puts up against the rape allegation.
If the victim said a black guy raped her and there's a boastful criminal minded black guy there at time of rape then he automatically becomes a suspect and I'm sure he couldn't proof his innocence during trial and investigations.
Suspect profiling is really important and I expect Mr Bah to be able to give some back story about himself prior to landing in the US and while he was in the US till he got arrested but he has avoided answering any questions regarding what he does prior to his arrest while in Japan or in the US.
If you want us to help you let us know you beyond the Mr Bah that was convicted of rape. To me this is necessary.
Thanks |

mohims: Hahahaha I am here. I put it to you once more that Brazil is a third of country. This is a general fact and not an opinion. If you exclude Brazil from a list of 3rd world countries in a examination, my brother, you will fail. Take it from me. I posted screenshots of Brazilians talking about their country. You can't claim to know Brazil more than the Brazilians themselves. Please stop jonzing yourself and wake up to reality. This is a well known fact and not some baseless opinion. You keep shouting third world country, critiquing a country you've never visited. A visit in Brazil will make you aline with the OPs take on Brazil not being a third world. I've visited Brazil and I was really surprised on how things worked smoothly to the point that when I returned to Nigeria I wanted to sell off my car cos my experience in Brazil made me believe one don't really have to own a car to commute but the Naija reality is that you will suffer tirelessly if you don't own a car here. While in Brazil I just need to type my destination on an app on my phone and the apps directs me to the nearest bus-stop or Metro to join the bus or train and they always arrive promptly. I've used a Metro-Bus combination in Brazil and it's cheaper than what it will cost to commute same distance here in Nigeria. The healthcare system doesn't care whether you're a Brazilian, Stateless or an Overstayer. As long as you have your CPF you can go to the health centre and get free treatment. Sao Paulo is a well planned city and I've never seen so much sky scrappers in one place, Dubai don't even have as much tall buildings as SP has. The roads are wide, well tarred and always kept clean. Each road has walkways for pedestrians. Working streetlights and traffic lights than also indicate pedestrian crossing. Cops patrols every hood, there are bike cops, motor cops and house riding cops all patrolling the streets daily. The cops use a pistol holstered on their side, not like ours that carry Ak-47 to their chest like we are in a war zone making everyone tremble. Food is affordable and available... Everything is produced in Brazil Abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. I fat comot for Brazil cos if you like to eat good food then I can assure you that you go chop enough in Brazil. I will just sit in my room are order uber eats tire. Chai! I could also whatsapp supermarkets my order list and they will deliver my order to my place free. Brazil is what Nigeria will look like if our political leaders didn't squander all the allocated budgets funds. Now that I'm back in Nigeria and witnessing the state of things I wished I stayed back in Brazil. For the guy asking for non-studio pix... I've attached some.

But I have struggled to get a SIM card and call home, with it so they know I am fine. Getting food is hard, because I don’t know what to do also. I only have dollars with me, And still at the hotel. I have tried booking accommodation via Airbnb, but it keeps rejects my debit card. Hoping a miracle happens soon, so I rent an accommodation and leave the hotel honestly. It’s tiring You can visit the redeem church, there are Nigerians there that will welcome you. Here's the church address: Avenida Valdemar Ferreira, 4, Butanta. Sao Paulo, SP. I didn't have problem using Airbnb but I used my domiciliary account. Visit 'Shopping light' and ask for the "Cambio" you can change small usd to reais there. When you visit the church later they can share contact of Nigerians that help with money conversion in Centro then you can change the remaining usd at a better rate. Which part of Brazil are you staying? That will help me direct you to stores where u can get some food items. |

Carav17: ( Techspot 350 reais is under the bridge? It doesn't exist in Brazil). Unless it's a ghost town or favela. SO:
256 reais public transport (4 bus passes) 4 working days a week / month. value of public transport: 4 - 5 reais, depending on the city. it means between 16 to 20 reais per day of work to go and return. If you need more buses the price will be higher. At the end of the month the total amount will be 4 weeks and 4 working days per week = 256 reais.
internet package: 99 reais / month - claro, Oi 120 reais / month - tim both ask for a 12-month subscription. cell phone packages can be found from 20 reais to 100 reais / month.
rent for 2/3 people in a city like são paulo: 1,500 reais - 3,000 reais. Lower prices like (500 reais) only in regions that are extremely remote or shared. And in that case you need to take 3 or even 4 buses to get to the place of work. (Which often takes between 2 to 3 hours) source: https://www.vivareal.com.br/ on this website you can search for rental values in Brazil in different cities.
breakfast: 2/4 reais = 60 - 80 reais month. lunch / dinner in a restaurant: 20/35 reais. Probably before or after the service you will barely have time to cook this will be the place where you will have lunch / dinner, so prepare your pocket = 320 month. If you have enough money to buy a popular car, the average salary of an uber worker: 1500 reais. the value of a popular car in Brazil = 30,000 reais the value of a used car popular in Brazil = 10,000 - 15,000 reais.
daily rate: 100 reais on average. profit = 55 reais (- public transport, and if you eat the profit will be even less = 35 reais or even 25 reais depending on the place). If you manage to have apartments to clean the value would be equivalent to 85 reais. Remembering that Brazil is experiencing an unemployment crisis, and all people try to do this type of service, then, you will hardly be able to do this type of service every day of the week, the most likely is that you will be able to do 3 or 4 days in the week. If you are lucky enough to have 2 customers a day your profit can be 85 reais. Assuming you get 10 new customers a week, you would be able to get 340 reais a week, which would be 1360 reais a month. An insufficient amount to pay your family's rent. If you are single your costs will be lower, this amount will be enough to pay the rent, and have a basic food, but it will not go beyond that, in addition to having your whole day busy with cleaning work, which demands between 3 to 4h per day each client. Basically no future, and no study and no profession, no health plan, and other stuffs.
Light and energy water media for a Brazilian family of 3 people. water 200 reais, 150 reais electricity. Value of gas: 70/100 reais. Property tax: 300 to 500 reais on average. IPVA: The rates vary from 0.5% to 4% on the vehicle's market value, which is determined by Fipe. schools or daycare: 500 - 1500. Health plan: In Brazil, health is free, but hospitals are usually overcrowded, and the lines to perform surgeries take months or even years, in this case, it is important to have a private health insurance plan for your family. Worth 175 reais, and 300 reais for included members (family). source: https://www.planosdesaudetodosaqui.com.br/
Main source: https://agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br/
As you can see, things are not as pretty as they are painting here. So: - With 3,000 reais a month, you can keep your family, like an ordinary Brazilian, however if you earn only 1500 reais, you will have difficulty, and probably will not be able to stay in Brazil for a long time. 1500 reais is too little even for a single person. for a single person to live in Brazil the ideal would be 2000 reais, and 3000 reais for the family. Remembering that these values are minimal, many things cannot be paid with this salary. Its basiscally survive.
If someone disagree with this informations post me some source, and I will post my sources. And lets see: Kisses for those who hate me I didn't copy what I listed from a website... I stayed in Brazil for 8 months and changed accommodation 5 times so I did some house searching and I know what u can get in some areas. My breakdown is in extreme cases and those that will be ok with earning minimum wages. Their some apartments in Santana, where you can get cheaper rental and u can surely get something lesser in favelas. Claro and Vivo ain't the only home wifi service plan. My breakdown was all 600reais, u can still get the monthly bus pass ticket and you sure know minimum earners always have their way around food and they always know how to manage. Some of them use bicycles and I have some of those Uber eats guys using bicycle or trekking... You can get free health care, free education, exercise at open gym and apply for govt assist for low income earners. So it's practically possible to live ok with minimum wage in Brazil but you know it's not possible to achieve that in present Nigeria. If you get paid 30k a month, factor over-valued cost of housing in Lagos, so you know then only olace you can get private house is in a slum in lagos. criminally imposed estimated electricity bill, buying of pure water monthly as the water here is not clean, mosquito killers, area boys settlement, church offering. Almost all minimum wage earners are in one "alajesekun" group and are all indepted to one microfinance bank. |

Openpeace: Sir,
Please I'd like to ask for a favor from you, if you can explain the way to get into Brazil with 600k and through cape verde Ecuador. The official tourist application for 3 months visa to visit Brazil cost 36k naira. Flight to Brazil for June 1-30th shows 416k naira for economy seats on Qatar Airways. So I just added miscellaneous to approximate it to 600k. So u apply for visit visa to Brazil when the embassy resumes work. The other routes I saw on YouTube. I don't advice it as it is unofficial and dangerous but people go through it despite. The Nigerian I met at Lapa that helped me relate in Portuguese to immigration officers said he came in unofficially 3 years ago so people take those routes but I don't advice you do. |
