PoliticsRe: Rivers APC Reacts To Supreme Court Judgment, Calls It Mere Academic Exercise by Tecno66: 5:31pm On Oct 22, 2018
It's a good ruling when it's favourable but an academic exercise when it's not. [qquote author=Upritman post=72317430]@SuanusBlog

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has reacted to today's judgment by the Supreme on the crises rocking the state chapter of the party in a matter brought before the apex court involving 23 aggrieved members of the party who alleged that they were unduly excluded from the party congresses.

In a swift reaction by the State Spokesperson of the APC in Rivers State, Chris Finebone, the Supreme Court Judgment was described as a mere academic exercise.

Finebone insisted that the Supreme Court did not set aside the congresses and primaries of the party.

The full statement obtained by Suanu's Blog reads below:

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, would like to state, for the avoidance of doubt, that the appeal filed at the Supreme Court by Ibrahim Umar & 22 ors of which the ruling was given today, 3 issues were canvassed before the Supreme Court one of which was that the Appeal Court did not act correctly by granting a stay of execution on the interlocutory orders of the State High Court. The Supreme Court agreed with them. However, the Supreme Court did not make pronouncements on the other issues since the State High Court had already given final judgment on them, an action that has left the present development a mere academic exercise.

The Supreme Court only granted the appeal in parts and did not make any consequential orders as that can only be subject matter at the Appeal Court when the appeal hearing of the State High Court judgment commences.

According to Counsel to APC, "The Supreme Court today allowed the appellant appeal which was against the stay of Order of Injunction of 11/05/2018.The Court said the said order should not have been stayed. The Supreme Court made no orders except to set aside the Court of Appeal order. That clears the way for hearing of the main appeal at Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt against the judgment of the High Court. Their prayer that Supreme Court should hear the pending appeal at Court of Appeal was rejected .The appeal is to be heard and determined by Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt."

It is important for APC faithful to ignore the raging propaganda by detractors that the Supreme Court set aside congresses and primaries of the party in Rivers State. That is a big lie from the pit of hell.

As things stand, all pending appeals at the Appeal Court are proceeding apace with some ongoing today. Furthermore, appeal and stay of the final judgment of the State High Court given on the 10th of October are being perfected and hearing will commence thereafter.

We call on all APC members to remain steadfast and refuse to be distracted as ultimate victory is assured. Those claiming victory and dancing in the streets are doing so either out of ignorance or out to deceive others".

Meanwhile, members of the Senator Magnus Abe led faction of the APC has been thrown celebration over the news of the Supreme Court Judgment which they interpret to be in their best interest.
Many of the supporters Abe, who is a frontline governorship aspirant tropped out to his campaign office in Portharcout this afternoon to celebrate the judgment with him.

You didn't get it. We in Edo are used to this. It's a recurring decimal since Oshiomhole era. I have lost count of the speakers we have had since Oshiomhole became governor. He thought he could replicate the drama at the National Assembly. He promised to remove Saraki within a week. It's more than 3 weeks now and we are still waiting for him to carryout his threat.

EducationRe: 10 Most Hated Mathematics Topics by Tecno66: 4:34pm On Oct 22, 2018
Numerical analysis.
girlfromafrica:
It is general knowledge that mathematics is arguably the most hated subject by students of all levels. Now, while that has become a generally accepted fact, what remains quite unknown is the most hated mathematics topics. Well, if you are wondering what the most hated mathematics topics are then you are on the right page. Contained in this article are 10 of the most hated topics in mathematics. If you are currently studying any of this topics or will do in the future, then it is important to know how dreaded they are. With this, you can give them just the right amount of attention.

The 10 most hated mathematics topics are;

Statistics
If a 100 students are asked why they hate statistics, a 100 different answer might come up. However, if these 100 different answers are looked at very closely, they all might mean one thing; “unfathomable”. Yes, a lot of students consider statistics to be very unfathomable. Unlike very regular mathematics which is supposed to have one right answer, statistics do not always depend on a right answer. Rather, it depends on the closest answer. That, however, is not all the problem that students have with statistics. Only very few people know the real applications of statistics in real life. As a result of this, lots of people treat it with complete disinterest.

Probability
At first glance, probability definitely does look interesting. Now, the truth is probability does not just look interesting, it really is very interesting until it starts getting really complex. With probability, you just are not allowed to trust your guts. Also, what you think the right answer is could just be very far from what the answer really is and since there is no real straightforward method to go about solving probability questions, you might never get it right at advanced levels if you lack the needed patience.

Ordinary Differential Equation
Ordinary differential equations is a topic in mathematics that a lot of people look forward to with keen interest. However, after the first few days of sitting in an ODE class, only a handful of students maintain the interest with which they anticipated the class. The other set of students get to a conclusion that ODE is dry. This is because, until the first day of class, a lot of students believe they will be learning some very beautiful concepts. However, most are usually very disappointed when they are faced with what they consider unmemorable tricks.

Real Analysis
Real Analysis to a very large extent is considered one of the most difficult mathematics topic at undergraduate level. It is usually considered a chasm of some sort. Real Analysis separates the real mathematics gurus from those that want to be considered math gurus but really are not. Now, this is where the problem lies; not everyone is a math guru. However, everyone doing real analysis is expected to pass it.

Real analysis is a topic in mathematics that does not have anything to do with solving problems. Rather, it is all about proofs. If you have ever tried proving anything in mathematics, then you will agree with me that it was not a path void of many hurdles.

Algebra
Algebra in itself might be considered an easy topic in mathematics. Nevertheless, a lot of students have developed a hatred for it. Now, it might be surprising that lots and lots of students dislike algebra regardless of the fact that it is not considered a difficult topic. Well, the truth is; the major problem is not with algebra but with the approach to learning it. Two of the major problems lots of students have with algebra are the fact that they memorize steps and also the idea that they do not need it and therefore do not give it attention.

Matrix
Yes oh, its both a movie and a subject in Mathematics. Matrix is not one of the popular math topics at the junior level. However, at senior and undergrad level, it is a topic that everyone that does mathematics has to go through. Usually, at the beginning of a class on matrix, there are two sets of people;

Those that understand the basic concepts and

Those that have no idea of what is going on in class.

As the class progresses, even those that quite understood it at the beginning might begin to feel helpless.

Differential Geometry
Differential Geometry is very much unlike your regular mathematics. It involves a little bit of everything and that is definitely a reason to hate it. Reason being; if you must understand differential geometry then you should understand a little of a lot of different math concept. Apart from the fact that this topic requires that you to understand a little of everything, it also comes with a lot of definitions. Now, if you are neck deep into mathematics, then you should be fully aware that no one in a mathematics class loves definitions.

Geometry
Geometry is one of the most misunderstood topics in mathematics. Although it might be quite interesting to individuals that have great spatial reasoning skills, those with not too good spatial reasoning skills have a big hatred for it. Also, one other reason why geometry is very much hated is because it is very unlike other topics in mathematics. As a result of this, if you cannot relate it to anything you know, it might be very difficult to fully comprehend what it is all about.

Permutations and Combinations
Apart from the fact that mistakes are easily made with permutations and combinations, it is considered by a lot of students to be time consuming. Even more annoying is the fact that it gets more complex as one delves deeper. Now, if one is not able to understand the basic concepts at the beginning of study, then all chances of getting to understand it might be lost forever.

Complex Numbers
Complex numbers is a topic in mathematics that is quite easy to understand if given proper attention. However, if one fails to understand it initially, then it will make no sense. One other major reason this topic is hated is the fact that it is very abstract.

These topics sure gave some of us a really hard time in school!

Since you have all these amazing facts, please write a petition to EFCC to try those you alleged to have stolen.
Just today,we heard how some of those against the PMB administration eventually admitted that he received $40m from Col. Dasuki for unspecified special duties so I believe anyone that has genuine evidence against appointees of PMB should do the needful.
You guys should grow beyond partisan opinion. Many petitions against Oshiomhole are before the efcc and nothing done until a court order is now being issued. The report of the judicial enquiry that indicted Amaechi was forwarded to the presidency and efcc. Till today, he is still a minister even though he has no immunity cover. If they haven't taking action on these ones how will people write petitions to them? Consider the examples given in this write up like the Adeosun case. If Fayose had escaped like Adeosun, I guarantee you that Interpol will be used to trace him and bring him back to face justice. In a nutshell this government should use the same yardstick for all irrespective of party affiliation and we will all be cool.

DaniRome:
I am very sad to say this but the APC government is a total disgrace to human race as a whole.

How can a president sit so comfortable fighting and arresting people from opposition party all in the name of corruption, and yet ignore the lives of innocent citizens being killed everyday.

How can daughters of peoples children be kidnapped for year with no trace of finding the culprits and yet they make innocent Nigerians feel the government is working by arresting common criminals just to showoff.

These useless politicians are busy collecting bribe in billions and also fighting themselves for their own political reasons with no attention to the fact that peoples children have been taken away for years.

If Zara Buhari is kidnapped by boko harram, I can image what the government would do about it. But now how selfish they all are trying to fight their own political ambitions than caring about the lives of their citizens.

I am so in pain about the way the government is run because now everyone is talking about election and who will take over, forgetting about innocent children that were taken away from their families. Does this mean boko harram is above the government? Up till this moment the government cannot take care of a group of people causing havoc in a country but yet the same government accuse one another over billions and billions of funds being misused.

My pain is just so much that I can't express it properly because I cannot see any reason why a group cannot come out with full force just as boko haram but with a genuine agenda to kidnap and slaughter all the politicians and useless godfathers in Nigeria including all the security agencies to fight for a good course.

God bless Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: EFCC Has No Right To Keep Fayose For Over 24 Hours _ Ozekhome by Tecno66: 3:24am On Oct 19, 2018
NAIJAHITPLAY:
Human rights lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), said efforts had begun to secure release of former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, from Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) custody.

Ozekhome said this in an interview with the Newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.

Fayose, whose tenure as governor ended on Monday, had on Tuesday reported at EFCC office in Abuja to answer to some allegations levelled against while in office as governor.

Ozekhome said “Fayose’s lawyers are already taking steps to enforce his fundamental human rights by getting him released.j

“Yes, his lawyers will go to court to enforce his fundamental human rights.

“The EFCC has no right to keep him for over 24 hours.

“If they have done that by obtaining a Magistrate Court’s Order that will be in the form of “holding charge” which has been declared unconstitutional and illegal by the Supreme Court.

“Holding charge is illegal. It is unconstitutional.’’

Ozekhome said that the section of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) permitting a magistrate to detain a suspect for 14 days was illegal.

According to him, any action outside the provisions of Section 35 of the Constitution which specifically provides for 24 hours, is illegal and unconstitutional.

He explained that the ACJA allowed for detention of a suspect for 14 days, but that Section 35 of the Constitution made it clear that a person could only be detained for 24 hours.

“So, when there is a clash between the statute, like the ACJA, and the Constitution, the Constitution prevails by virtue of Section 1(3).

“If they have gotten an order for two weeks from the magistrate court, it is unconstitutional,” Ozekhome stressed.

Recalls that Ozekhome was among Fayose’s supporters who accompanied him to the EFCC on Tuesday.

He had said that the present administration was governed by constitutionalism, and that it was a constitutional democracy.

When contacted for update of Fayose, especially on the detention, Head, Media and Publicity of EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, he simply said, “there is no update at the moment.”

And people like Amaechi and Oshiomhole are moving around freely and you want me to believe they are fighting corruption? Tell that story to the uninformed. What is playing out is part of the antics of tyranny and dictatorship which has zero tolerance for critics. The harassment that the late Gani Fawehimi passed through for speaking out against past military governments comes to mind. Get me right. I am not saying Fayose should not be questioned about his actions and inactions while in office but I will appreciate it if all former governors are turned in like this. Not critics of the government.

PoliticsRe: Kwankwaso Threatens To Leave PDP by Tecno66: 10:06am On Oct 11, 2018
Khed:
Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has threatened to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if the leadership of the party in Abuja removed any member of the Kwankwasiyya movement from the list of its aspirants.

Recall that Kwankwaso had held primaries for various elective offices in Kano which were allegedly won by his chosen aspirants, leaving aside other PDP members.

A source within the party confided to Daily Trust yesterday that the former governor sounded the warning of leaving the party during a meeting held at Legacy House, Abuja.

The meeting, which commenced at 3pm and ended around 5pm, was attended by many PDP stakeholders including Bello Hayatu Gwarzo and Ambassador Aminu Wali among others.

According to the source, the meeting was organised to review the list of aspirants from Kano State.
The Senator Mas’ud El-Jibril Doguwa-led faction of the PDP had also conducted its primaries where candidates emerged for various offices.

It was gathered that in order to have a unified house, the Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC) brought together all the contending factions with a view to having a win-win situation.

The source said, “Kwankwaso told the gathering that any move to remove any member of Kwankwasiyya from the aspirants list will lead to his defection from PDP.

“However, the Doguwa-led faction also threatened to dump the party if the leadership failed to review the list of aspirants.

The meeting ended in a deadlock…Neither Kwankwaso nor Doguwa faction agreed to accept the terms offered by the leadership of the party,” the source said.

According to him, the leadership of the party in its effort to reconcile the aggrieved members, resolved that the national and state assemblies slots be shared 50-50 between the Kwankwaso and Doguwa factions of the party.

He added that when the meeting reached its peak with no sign of success, the party’s presidential flag bearer and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, sent a former minister of Aviation, Mr Osita Benjamin Chidoka, to intervene on his behalf.

He, however, said the former minister also failed to reconcile the contending factions and the meeting ended without yielding any positive result.

Asked to comment on development, the Public Relations Officer of Doguwa faction of the PDP, Alhaji Musa Danbirni, said he was not aware of the said meeting. “I am not among the people that went to Abuja because I fell sick and I am still at home. So I don’t know what exactly transpired in Abuja.”

The spokesman of Kwankwaso faction of the party, Jamilu Dambatta could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report. On her part, Kwankwaso’s spokesperson, Hajiya Binta Spikin said she was not in Abuja. “It will be wrong for me to talk about party matters; the people that should talk on this are party officials,” she said.

Contacted, a strong pillar of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Aminu Abdulsalam, said he was not aware of the meeting.

Abdulsalam said, “The party’s chairmen, secretaries and other stakeholders were taken to Abuja by a different group with the sole aim of conducting a fresh primary election but to be honest with, the National Vice Chairman (North) told them that he has no mandate to do so.

“He told them it is beyond his powers to hold a meeting with them and he asked them to go back to Kano and await further instruction from the party’s national leadership. That is all I know about this issue,” he said.

PoliticsRe: EFCC Sets Up Special Team To Grill Fayose Over Corruption Charges by Tecno66: 11:50am On Oct 10, 2018
nurex01:
Kamarudeen Ogundele, Eniola Akinkuotu and Enyioha Opara

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has set up a special team to interrogate Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State next week, The PUNCH can confirm.

Fayose, who has been governor since October 16, 2014, will lose his immunity at exactly 11.59pm on October 15, 2018, thereby giving the EFCC the constitutional right to arrest, detain and prosecute him.

The governor is expected to report at the EFCC head office in Abuja to meet with the commission’s Director of Operations, Umar Mohammed, after which he will be grilled by a team of operatives.

Fayose is under investigation for allegedly receiving over N1.2bn from a former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), through a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

The money was allegedly handed over to Fayose during the build-up to the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State.

Fayose’s aide, Abiodun Agbele, and others had been arraigned by the EFCC but Fayose was excluded because of his immunity.

A source within the EFCC said, “We are expecting Fayose to show up at our office next week. He has nowhere to run to since he is under security watch and cannot leave the country through any land border, seaport or airport.

“We have also set up a special team of investigators that will interrogate him immediately after the expiration of his tenure.”

The governor is expected to be arraigned after investigations.

Apart from the alleged N1.2bn fraud, Fayose is also under probe for alleged contract fraud.

Speaking with one of our correspondents on Tuesday, a spokesman for Fayose, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, said his principal was ready for the EFCC.

Adelusi noted that the governor had written a letter to the EFCC indicating his readiness to appear before the commission next week.

He said, “Governor Fayose is an honourable man. He will not run away. He has already stated that he will make himself available next Monday once his tenure expires. He made this clear in a letter recently. Even when he was not under immunity, the governor honoured the EFCC invitations.

“The EFCC is not a court of law and cannot declare a person guilty. The governor will be available next week, no doubt.”

Meanwhile, Fayose has filed a N20bn suit against the EFCC for placing him on watch list and directing security agencies to arrest him, if he attempts to travel out of the country.

He said the directive against him despite being a sitting governor breached his constitutional immunity and exposed him to public opium and ridicule.

Fayose had in a September 3, 2018 letter by his counsel, Obafemi Adewale, given the EFCC 72 hours to withdraw the request/directive to security agencies and publish a written apology in three national newspapers and the social media.

A statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said the suit was consequent upon the EFCC’s failure to accede to his demands as contained in the letter.

Recall that EFCC had tweeted on July 16, 2018 through its official twitter handle @officialEFCC concerning Governor Fayose that, “The parri (party) is over, the cloak of immunity is torn apart and the staff broken, Ekiti Integrated Poultry/Biological Concepts Limited N1.3bn fraud case file dusted off the shelves. See you soon.”

In the suit, Fayose demanded among other things; an order of the court mandating the EFCC to pay the sum of N20bn as general damages to what he called “flagrant, deliberate, pre-meditated and reckless libel and unprovoked attack on his character and reputation and the breach of his constitutional right/immunity as an incumbent governor.”

He asked the EFCC to tender a written apology, which should be circulated to all security agencies in Nigeria and that same should be published in at least three widely read national newspapers and the social media.

The governor also sought a declaration that the statements contained in the EFCC’s letter of September 12, 2018, and addressed to all security agencies n Nigeria portrayed him as a criminal, a fugitive and a run-away from the law, and that the statements were not true, were malicious, and not fair.

He asked the court to further declare “that the EFCC’s letter placing him on watch list and directing his arrest on sight even while a sitting governor is unconstitutional as same offends the clear provision of Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) which clothes him with immunity against arrest and prosecution as an incumbent governor.”

“That the tweet by the defendant (the EFCC) through its official twitter handle, which was widely circulated through social media and published in Punch Newspaper (online) of 16th July, 2018, with the particular wordings pleaded in the statement of claim filed along with this Writ is not true, is malicious, is not a fair statement and presents the plaintiff as a fraudster thereby ridiculing him and reducing him in the eyes of reasonable and right-thinking members of the society.”

If only EFCC could set up the same special team to investigate Oshiomhole, we will know they are serious. A petition was written against both Fayose and Oshiomhole. They are so serious on Fayose's case while a court had to direct them to commence investigation on Oshiomhole's own. The way Oshimhole is quick to label people in opposition thieves makes his case interesting. He really needs to be interrogated to explain how he acquired so much as a governor. We all know the take home pay of a Nigerian governor.

Olalekan Adetayo, Abuja

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, were on Monday conspicuously absent at a parade organised to commemorate Nigeria’s 58th independence anniversary.

The strictly military event held at the Eagles Square, Abuja, was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

Recall that Saraki and Dogara recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Also in attendance at the parade was the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was also absent at the event attended by two former military leaders: Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.) and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.).

On arrival at the venue, Buhari first took the national salute before moving to inspect the parade in a motorcade.

He later returned to the VIP stand to join Osinbajo, Onnoghen, Gowon, Abdulsalami and other dignitaries.

EducationRe: Auchi Polytechnic Lecturer Injures Female Student, Flees (Photos) by Tecno66: 1:06pm On Oct 01, 2018
End time lecturers, end time students.
ChangeIsCostant:
Students of the department of Science Laboratory and Technology [SLT] of the school of Evening Studies, Auchi polytechnic in Edo state, reportedly fought a lecturer for allegedly injuring a female student of the department.

According to reports, the incident happened on Saturday, 29th September, 2018.

The Ecology lecturer was said to have accompanied his fellow colleague to assist in a practical course before the incident.

During an interview with a student of the department, One Miss Blessing , she said the lecturer came furiously to the class.

" He gave an order for the students that were unseated to wait outside while the practical would be on. At this time he backed the door to hit my course mate, Mrs. Dele Miracle, a pregnant woman. Although, we begged, after a little expression of anger", Miss Blessing said.

It was gathered that after some time, the lecturer went and parked his car somewhere outside the department, and came back to revenge the action of the students for backing the door against Mrs Dele.

Entering angrily into the class, the lecturer was alleged to have forcefully backed the door against another female student. At this time, he inflicted injuries on her face, leaving her bleeding. This called for the reaction of the students.

According to reports, the Ecology Lecturer later fled, after collecting some blows from the angry students.

PoliticsRe: 2 People Emerge Guber Candidate Of PDP In Ogun State by Tecno66: 9:02pm On Sep 30, 2018
Kashamu faction? I thought he has been expelled by the party.
Kavuki:
Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) on Sunday conducted two separate primaries and elected two different candidates for the 2019 governorship election in the state.
The Sikirulai Ogundele – led group conducted their primary at the Marque, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library(OOPL), Abeokuta, with Hon. Ladi Adebutu emerging winner – sole candidate, garnering 2,369 votes out of the 2,669 accredited delegates.

Capt. Mike Williams Hart (Primary Committee Chairman), Ms Barbara Aloma(Secretary), Emmanuel Ekpe (member), Anthony Agbetuyi (member) and Bukola Oyinkasola (member) from the National body, Abuja, conducted the primary that led to the emergence of Adebutu as a parallel candidate.

Another group loyal to Senator Buruji Kashamu and where Engr. Bayo Dayo is the state executive chairman, had theirs at the PDP State Secretariat on IBB Boulevard, Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said to have been on ground to observe the exercise.

At the end of the exercise with 1,994 accredited delegates, 1979 of them voted for Adeleke Shittu from Ijebu – Igbo, in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state, to emerge the gubernatorial candidate of the Bayo Dayo group, after Fatai Adeyanju had stepped down for him.

Speaking with reporters, Bayo Dayo maintained that theirs is the authentic primary conducted by the executive Committee deriving its authority from a valid court order since 2016.

Meanwhile, Confusion and apprehension suffused the air of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, and other parts of the state over the planned governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), prompting five of the governorship aspirants – Senator Gbenga Kaka (Ogun East), Otunba Bimbo Ashiru(Ogun East), Prince Dapo Abiodun(Ogun East), Jimi Lawal(Ogun East) and Abayomi Hunye (Ogun West), to raise alarm on breach of security and breakdown of law and order in the state.

The signed petition which was signed by the five aspirants and copies of which were sent to the Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security Service(DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), the army and other sister security agencies in the state, the petitioners cited Hon. Semiu Akintade of Olorunda ward in Abeokuta North who they claimed has been kidnapped.

They accused the state Chairman of one of the transport unions in Ogun State, of being behind the alleged security breach, stressing that even some security agents have been given lists their supporters for arrest on trump up allegations ostensibly to keep them out of circulation during the electioneering process.

Six persons – Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade(Ogun West), Senator Gbenga Kaka (Ogun East), Otunba Bimbo Ashiru(Ogun East), Prince Dapo Abiodun(Ogun East), Jimi Lawal(Ogun East) and Abayomi Hunye (Ogun West), are in a keen battle for the APC governorship ticket in a primary that has been shifted till further notice.

The petition reads: “We, the undersigned gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of All Progressives in Ogun State are constrained to write the petition on the unprofessional activities of some security personnel, who were actively engaged and poised to continue with their nefarious activities of intimidation, harassment, kidnapping and threat to life, such as the kidnapping of Hon. Semiu Akintunde in Olorunda Ward, Abeokuta North Local Government.

“It is noteworthy, that some security personnel have been given a list of our supporters to be arrested and detained on trump up charges so as to remove them from circulation during the electioneering process.

“In the circumstance, we hereby humbly request for timely intervention and immediate remedial action to prevent breakdown of Law and Order and safeguard the electoral process rescheduled for tomorrow, October 1, 2018.”

Why the contradicting statements from the U.S Consul? He earlier adjudged the polls to have been satisfactory so what gives huh

We must continually strive to make our elections as free, fair and peaceful as possible, regardless.

That said, congratulations to Governor-elect Oyetola, and to the APC for consolidating it's regional stronghold.

PDP only reaped what they've been sowing for years, hence the pains cheesy

When things like this begin to happen, it will come to a point when crisis will begin. These leaders will flee and we will be the ones to bear the brunt. Keep on clapping for them.
