unclesuruoffi: Aisha Yesufu, the fiery co-convener of BBOG has revealed that she wonders how Buhari became a General considering the state of Nigeria's insecurity.
Recounting the intimidation she has faced over her involvement in the BBOG campaign, Aisha Yesufu who revealed that she wonders how Buhari became a General over the current state of insecurity in the country, added that some of their members have died. She told Punch;
"Sometimes I wonder how Muhammadu Buhari became a general considering the level of insecurity in the country. This is an incompetent regime. There was a time I went out for a march and slumped at the gate of Aso Rock Villa and they had to take me away. I had a series of health issues and it took me about a year before it dawned on me that since the time I was sprayed with tear gas, I had not been fine. I had to travel out of the country for a medical check-up when I realised that my nails were falling. I’d been to Nigerian hospitals and they all said I was healthy. I have had failing health issues. Some other members of our group have been attacked. We have been beaten by the police and they have removed our chairs from the Unity Fountain during President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. During Jonathan’s time in office, we were beaten, attacked, and taken to the police station. We have faced a lot of persecution from Nigerians, the government and even terrorists. We have been called different names but the beautiful thing is that we have been consistent."

Ratello: APC is out of the race already. The Supreme Court rules in clarity on this case and going by the voided votes of APC by the highest ruling body in Nigeria it is very clear that a rerun can never be and the issue of requirements clause of 25% is not needed in PDP's case as they are the legitimate runners up in that election. Simple as ABC. From the judgement, APC was not supposed to even show up on the ballot papers and so their votes are cancelled. The new total votes cast is the former total minus the 534,541 of APC. From this new balance, PDP is likely to score more than even 75% of votes cast. I hope we don't see another abracadabra on Monday otherwise it will go back to the Supreme Court. |

1 Governor 3 senators 7 House of reps members 24 House of assembly members. I think before the PDP candidate can be declared, he still needs to fulfill the constitutional requirement of having one third of the votes in two thirds of the local governments of the state. I doubt if that was met because of the dominance of APC in the state. |

UmuEri: with this latest judgment, how does PDD and APC stand in the national Assembly in terms of number.?
note; zamfara has 3 senatorial seats and 7 Rep members The difference is six. Assuming APC had 60 senators to PDP's 40, the difference is 20. But by removing 3 from APC and adding 3 to PDP, APC now has 57 to pdp's 43. The difference is now cut to 14. |

candygist: The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress has suspended the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, for anti-party activities,Saturday PUNCH has learnt. The party’s NWC had on March 1 resolved to issue a query to the governor over what it described as glaring anti-party activities. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Isa-Onilu, after a meeting presided over by the national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, the party had said the governor’s anti-party activities “greatly affected the fortunes of its candidates in the recently conducted presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.” Isa-Onilu had, in a recent interview withThe PUNCH, confirmed that the query had been sent to Akeredolu based on the directive of the NWC. A member of the NWC, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, however, confirmed to our correspondent on Friday that the governor had been suspended. The source said the decision to suspend Akeredolu was hinged on the fact that his case was similar to the allegations levelled against his Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun, and that of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, for which the two governors have been suspended. He added that the NWC was also aware of the governor’s claim that he had not received any query from the party and therefore mandated its National Vice Chairman for the South-West to make it available to him. He said, “Yes, the governor has been suspended by the NWC. He claimed that he has not seen the paper (query) and we asked the National Vice Chairman from the South-West to make a copy available to him.

KarlWhyte: Justice Oathman Musa of an Abuja High Court sitting in Bwari Area Council of Abuja on Tuesday Nullified the nomination of Senator Ademola Adeleke as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the September 2018 Governorship Election in Osun State.
Adeleke, who represents Osun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly was the PDP’s candidate in the 2018 governorship election in Osun state.
Two Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wahab Raheem and Adam Habeeb, had in 2018 barely few days to the governorship election in Osun State had dragged Adeleke to court, accusing him of not possessing the requisite educational qualification (secondary school certificate) to contest for the office of governor.
They prayed the court for an order to disqualify Adeleke from participating in the Sept 22 governorship election in the state on the grounds that he does not possess the requisite educational qualification.
Delivering judgment in the suit Tuesday, Justice Musa annulled Adeleke’s nomination on the grounds that Adeleke offended section 177 of the 1999 constitution as amended. The section stipulated that candidates for the position of governor must be educated up to secondary school level.
According to Justice Musa, while the court’s findings showed that Adeleke entered secondary school in 1976, there was no record to show that he actually graduated as his name was no longer seen in the school’s register from 1980.
Justice Musa further stated that the result Adeleke attached to his form CF001 which he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was fake, as it was found to be different from the one presented to the court by the principal of Ede Muslim High School, Ede, Osun State.
Meanwhile, Adeleke’s lawyer Nathaniel Oke SAN has faulted the judgment of Justice Musa on the grounds that the judge erred in law by going out of hiy way to source for evidence to arrive at his “unjust conclusion”.
He submitted that the court erred particularly when it ignored WAEC evidence that Adeleke was educated up to Secondary School level as required by law.
Source: https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/04/02/court-nullifies-adelekes-nomination-for-osun-guber-polls-over-certificate-forgery/?amp Very good. Now that we are considering certificate issues, I hope they will now look properly into Buhari's school certificate issue so that we are sure the president we have has the basic requirement to be president. No sentiments, please. |

Hahnemann: Rivers State AAC Deputy Governorship Candidate withdraws from the 2019 Governorship Election, defects to the PDP The Rivers State Deputy Governorship Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) , Chief Akpo Bomba Yeeh has withdrawn from the 2019 Rivers State Governorship Election , defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).
Addressing journalists at his home in Port Harcourt on Monday, Chief Yeeh said the reason for his decision is for him to join hands with Governor Wike to move Rivers State forward.
He said: "After due consultations with my immediate family, friends and supporters, I Chief Akpo Bomba Yeeh, the Deputy Governorship of the AAC for the 2019 Governorship election hereby resign my membership of the AAC and announce my defection to the PDP to join hands with Governor Wike to move the state forward ".
He added: "I was the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the AAC in Rivers State up till today 25th March, 2019 , when I decided to withdraw my candidature and resign from the party with immediate effect.
"The March 9 , Governorship election in Rivers State has been lost and won; lost by my party, African Action Congress (AAC) and its Candidate, Engineer Biokpomabo Awara and undoubtedly and overwhelmingly won by the Governor of Rivers State, the candidate of PDP, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike ". He said that despite the interference of the security agencies, Rivers people stood their ground and voted for Governor Wike.
He said: "The collated results further showed that contrary to the false claim of fictitious lead by the AAC/APC alliance, the PDP overwhelmingly won all the elections in 18 out of the 19 LGAs, culminating in the declaration and return of the party 26 House of Assembly Constituencies by the Constituency Returning Officers.
"This fact was confirmed on the 13th of March 2019, when INEC stated, as a matter of fact, that it had in it's safe custody collated results for 17 Local Government Areas as well as the declaration of the PDP Candidates for 21 State Constituencies. "The outcome of the elections on March 9, 2019 clearly showed the preference of the people of Rivers State. Even the blind can see and the deaf can hear the echo that Rivers people overwhelmingly voted to stick with Governor Wike for the next four years to encourage him to continue with the good works". The Former Deputy Governorship Candidate of the AAC informed that the Minister of Transportation forced him to sign an un-dated letter of resignation to be effective after their expected inauguration. "I was forced to sign an un-dated letter of resignation as the Deputy Governor of Rivers State to pave way for Rotimi Amaechi to nominate another person as Deputy Governor. "These were slavish conditions for any rational politician worth his name to accept, but I pretended to play along because doing otherwise at that time would have been too dangerous for the safety of my life, given Rotimi Amaechi's desperation to remove Governor Wike from office and install his stooge in the person of Engr Awara against all odds". He said that though the AAC Campaign was never serious and never campaigned for the office of the position of Governor of Rivers State, Amaechi during the adoption of the party, said that he would fund the elections and do everything under the sun to give AAC victory at the polls. He said: "Amaechi disclosed to us that he had already assembled security personnel drawn from the Nigerian Army, the Police, DSS and FSARS to provide adequate security cover and enablement for members of the AAC and APC to effectively rig the Governorship election and have us declared as winners on March 9 , 2019". He stated that the adoption and promise to deliver AAC was with conditions that conferred de facto governance on the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Chief Yeeh outlined the conditions: "First, he (Amaechi) must be the one to appoint 90 percent of all political office holders, including commissioners, Special Advisers, and chairmen and members of Government Agencies and parastatals. "Second, he must be the one to nominate and produce all the 23 Local Government Council Chairmen and other principal officers of the councils. "We, that is, Engr Awara and my humble self must consult and take instructions from him on all financial, policy and fiscal matters, as well as award and payment of all contracts and other financial transactions upon inauguration as Governor and Deputy Governor of the state". He added: "As a practicing Christian, I have come to the conclusion that the actions and desperate attempts by Amaechi and the AAC/APC alliance to rig the Governorship and State Assembly elections in Rivers State are both morally and legally wrong, reprehensible and inimical to the collective interest of the people of Rivers State. "The Almighty God will not forgive me if I continue to lend my support to Rotimi Amaechi's perfidy against the democratic rights of the people of Rivers State to freely elect their own leaders ". He condemned the Minister of Transportation for unleashing violence on Rivers people in his failed attempt to rig the 2019 Rivers Governorship election. The Former Deputy Governorship Candidate of AAC stated that he has informed Engr Awara in writing of his withdrawal and resignation from the Governorship This revelation exposes who the Nigerian politician is. Imagine asking a candidate to sign his resignation letter before election. Amaechi wants to drag position with God. |

Ilovemystate: PRESS RELEASE 24th MARCH 3:15PM
The PDP Gubernatorial Candidate wishes to appreciate his teeming supporters who participated in the Kano Rerun elections which clearly gave victory to the People Democratic Party. Without your relentless effort our Party would have gotten the winning vote in the first election and the Rerun respectively.
It is very unfortunate to have witnessed a gang up against democracy by the trio of the ruling APC, INEC and the Security agencies who connived attempting to orchestrate broad day light robbery of the People’s mandate.
We want to categorically state that any desperate attempt by the already compromised INEC officials to declare Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the winner of this rerun will plunge Kano into an unprecedented political crisis. The attempt would be resisted.
We urge all relevant stakeholders at state and federal government to as a matter of urgency to call the attention of INEC on the need to immediately declare Abba Kabir Yusuf as the winner of the election, being the candidate with the highest votes in the just concluded election.
We also call on security agencies to refrain from being partisan by supporting the ruling party to aid and abate crisis.by
