The Presidency has reacted to a letter by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), instructing the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, to monitor and arrest Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose anytime he wants to run away from the country.

9News Nigeria had reported that the agency in a letter signed by its Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, to the Comptroller-General of Customs, urged the service to place the outgoing Ekiti governor on the watch list and ensure he does not escape.

Reacting to the development, Buhari’s Aide on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie on her Twitter page called on Nigerians to join hands with the EFCC to ensure Fayose defends his integrity or lack of it.
She assured Nigerians that corruption under the Buhari administration will be defeated in high places.

Onochie wrote “It’s not just the customs; every Nigerian should stand by EFCC so Gov. Ayo Fayose is given the opportunity to defend his integrity or lack of it.
“Together, we will defeat corruption in high places.”

No fewer than 52 cattle were crushed to death by a train along Kasarami – Jere axis in Chikkun Local Government Area in Kaduna State, The Kaduna State Police Command reports on Sunday.

The Commissioner, Malam Ahmad Abdulrahaman refuted reports that the cattle were killed by other means.

“There is nothing like an attack, it was purely a train accident, so nobody should panic”, he told newsmen in Kaduna

According to him, the cattle were crushed to death at about 11:45am by a speeding train going to Abuja from Rigasa Railway Station.

He also explained that the 27 cattle that sustained injuries were slaughtered by the chief butcher of Kasarami village.

He said no human casualty was recorded.

“When the information of the accident reached the command, I quickly mobilised our men to the scene to assess the situation.

The CP described the accident as pathetic. He said the herdsmen were moving to Funtua Local Government in Katsina State.

“They innocently inquired on whether there were rail services on Sunday, but were misinformed that there was none.

“I have summoned the traditional rulers of the area, youths and farmers on the need to continue to live in peace and to avoid crossing the rail track indiscriminately with farm produce and animals.

He added that a similar meeting will hold with officials of the railway corporation on how to avert such an accident in future.

A man has been arrested after killing his ex-girlfriend’s new lover, A Nigerian in front of the woman and her small children at their home in the Katy area early Thursday, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said.

“This is such a terrible and terrifying incident, especially in front of children,” Sheriff Troy Nehls said. “The children and family will need our thoughts and prayers, and thankfully we are able to hold someone accountable for this heinous crime.”

Godson Akran, 38, is expected to face murder charges after deputies responded to a stabbing call about 4:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Daintree Park Drive. The victim has been identified as Taofeek Anifata, 43.

Anifata’s girlfriend is listed as the homeowner and is the mother of three children, all under the age of 13. The suspect’s motive for allegedly killing Anifata has not been revealed.

He’s currently being held at the Fort Bend County Jail.

The analysis is so awkward. The reason why they said the appointment should be by simple majority and removal by two third is to make removal more difficult. If they say two third of one third quorum can remove the SP, then if APC removes him today, PDP can also get 24 to remove whoever APC puts there tomorrow. But to get 73, which I believe those who wrote the constitution have in mind, the SP most have committed an infraction that everyone across party line will know he has to go. APC is not a tolerant party. Otherwise, if PDP could tolerate Tambuwal in the build up to 2015, why can't APC manage issues in national interest and see things through to 2019 and stop hitting up the polity the way Oshiomole is doing. I continue to say it, I pray they don't take things to a level where the military will come in. If we have two Senate presidents today, I guarantee all that the next day, we will hear martial music on radio and a military voice saying fellow Nigerians.

Oshiomole is like a loose canon. When a loose canon is exploding, every one including the person that fired it begins to run for their dear life because no one knows where it will jump to next. Amaechi seems to be right when he said Oshiomole's appointment as APC chairman will finish the party. I think future chairmen needs to have mental examination before appointment..

He succeeded in removing the PDP speaker by force when he became Governor in Edo state and thinks he can replicate it in the senate. At that time, PDP and APC had 12 members each in the house and he carried out his threat. He says he will remove Saraki this week. Let's see how it plays out. I know that absolute power belongs to God, not man. When man who has no control over tomorrow begins to boast, it becomes funny.

Check the number of members that impeached the Benue speaker. They were more than two third of the entire members of the house. Compare this with the 53 senators boasting about. The constitution envisaged this kind of madness hence they put that clause there to make it difficult for cheap and immature politicians always looking for ways to exploit loopholes in the constitution.
