The Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Ali Olanusi has described the embattled governor of the State, Olusegun Mimiko has a “dictator” and “emperor” who always want to be in charge of virtually everything in the State. Speaking exclusively with SaharaReporters reporters in Akure, Ondo State Olanusi said he decided to break his silence after weeks of fallout from the camp of Governor Mimiko. He already predicted that things would still fall apart in days to come for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as loyalists to Governor Mimiko would begin to defect to the APC. He disclosed that the Governor, who has always flaunted his impunity with pride, has been controlling the wealth of the State by becoming a “roaring emperor” without recourse from the public. The Deputy Governor said he left the PDP for the APC in the State because he was no longer confortable with the dominating style and injustice initiated by the Governor in the party. He said, “Governor Mimiko said I am no longer useful to him and I decided to pitch my tent with the All Progressives Congress party where I will be useful. “For a very long time he (Mimiko) has been a dictator and he has become an emperor. He doesn’t consult anyone. He is in charge of everything. Nobody can advise him. He doesn’t listen to anybody. He does things alone”, Olanusi said. He told SaharaReporters that he was never carried along in the defection ring purportedly orchestrated in Abuja by the Governor, adding that he received no calls or notification on such action when he was the Deputy Governor of the State. “When he went to Abuja where he defected from the default Labour Party (LP) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, he refused to carry me along or inform me about his decision. “It was when things got worst for him that he remembered to make me the Chairman of the Reconciliatory Committee of the PDP for the aggrieved members in the state “He went to Abuja. He started preparing for the election and they gave him money but he didn’t tell me anything, not to talk of how much he was given for the election”, he said. Mimiko always want his orders carried out and be worshipped without being challenged, Olanusi also added. He berated the dominance and tyrannical government of the Governor in the State by turning the whole Ministry into a household and family business affairs. “Even I can’t nominate who would be an ordinary local government councilor not to talk of Chairman in my ward. He is all in all and always dictates.” “There is no single portion in the Ministry or MDAs in the state that I am controlling, but the governor is virtually in charge of ‘everything’ including the entire department in this state”. Olanusi authoritatively revealed to SaharaReporters that the governor was the brain behind the sinking architects which tore the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State chapter into shreds, thereby forming parallel executives and members. He revealed how Mimiko colluded with some PDP political juggernauts in Abuja by bribing them with the State tax payers fund to destroy the State chapter of the Party and single handedly pick its own new candidates, without regard for old members of the Party. “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) ruined the chapter of the party in this state by conniving with Governor Olusegun Mimiko to throw the ethics of democracy into the dust bin. The Supare Akoko born politician, who also revealed how the Governor has been witch-hurting him since his defection to the All Progressives Congress in the State, added that all his security aides have been withdrawn. He added that the State Commissioner of Police, Isaac Eke acting under the instruction of Mimiko has impounded all his official vehicles and a stop to the allowance of his domestic staffs and aides. www.saharareporters.com/2015/04/05/mimiko-dictator-ondo-state-he-ruined-pdp-ali-olanusi |

The General Overseer of Faith and Victory Church, Akure, has predicted that Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State and his counterpart in Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, will be impeached from office before the end of this year. Prophet Oladipo, who predicted the victory of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen Mohammadu Buhari, said both Mimiko and Fayose have limited days left to spend in office as gover nors of their respective states. In an exclusive interview with Sunday Sun, Prophet Oladipo insisted that Fayose would be impeached in six month’s time and his Ondo State counterpart in December this year. According to him, Governor Mimiko had disappointed God who put him in the office and as such no amount of prayer could forestall his removal be fore the end of this year. His words: “God has revealed to me that Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, will be impeached before the end of this year. Fayose will be sent packing from the government house before the end of this year.” “I predicted that Fayose would win the governorship election in Ekiti State and he won. But this time around, God has said that he would be im peached from office and there is nothing he can do to prevent the fulfillment of that prediction. Either he agrees with me or not, Fayose is going to be impeached because God has said it,” he stressed. He, however, advised Mimiko to be prayerful to avert the looming im peachment. He said: “If Mimiko can pray very well, God can still have mercy on him because he is a beloved child of the Almighty God. But if he fails to pray, he will be impeached before December this year.” www.sunnewsonline.com |

The spokesperson for President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign team, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Wednesday stated that all his attacks against the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, and his party, the All Progressives Congress, during the electioneering, were what his job required of him and not personal. He also commended the APC campaign directorate for doing something “they believe in”. “There was absolutely nothing personal as regards this Directorate or myself. I had nothing personal against anybody. I was simply doing my job for which I have no regrets and I wish them well and I sincerely hope that they will take Nigeria to a level that we can all be proud of,” he said. Mr. Fani-Kayode also congratulated Mr. Buhari for his victory and also commended President Jonathan for conceding defeat. “We start by saying that we commend and we congratulate General Muhammadu Buhari for winning this election. We also wish to commend our President, President Goodluck Jonathan, for having the courage to concede that he has lost the election at the earliest moment and also for being able to stand up and rise above party politics and being able to speak like a statesman,” he said. The former Aviation Minister also prayed for peace in the country and success for Mr. Buhari. “May God grant each and everyone of us peace. May He watch over our nation. May He guide our President for the next two months whilst he is still in power and thereafter and may He guide and lead the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, in the herculean task that lies ahead for him. “My prayer is that he brings our nation together, heals the wounds and that he builds the bridges in terms of religion, ethnicity and region that he needs to build in order for us to make Nigeria a better place and to ensure that Nigeria becomes a great country that she is destined to be,” he said. He called on Nigerians to continue to support the PDP, despite losing the election. He also asked for full cooperation to the incoming administration “and to remember that we are first and foremost Nigerians before anything else”. Mr. Fani-Kayode said he had no regret for serving Mr. Jonathan and the PDP. He also advised the PDP not to lose hope. “And having lost, it does not mean that it is the end to the world, it just means that we need to re-group, re- organise ourselves and begin the process all over again because another elections will come in a few years’ time. “And that is where we are today. We have conceded that we have lost. We acknowledge the fact that we fought a good fight. We do not have any fears about the future. We did the right thing during the campaign. We have no regrets about our candidate or the way in which we conducted our campaign and we will live to fight another day,” he said. |
