I think it's a cultural thing. There's this fear or stigma of not being married or divorced that makes Nigerian women stay in the most detrimental relationships. There are the ones who are punch bags but won't leave because, "all my enemies will rejoice". And so they stay on to the point where he flaunts his extras boldly.

Oh well, provided they're happy. Who knows, maybe they derive pleasure from it?

I confided in my husband when he accused me of listening to people. I then opened up and gave him an instance that if i listen to people i would ne doing what they asked me to do.I told him the advice a former neigbhour of his gave me. Of which I told her I can't do such. Now he uses it against me. I feel bad because he didn't even say what I told him exactly. He changed the story. He lied about it.


My husband goes about telling everyone i am diabolic because I jokingly told him that he should be grateful I don't have a wicked heart if not I will use magun to catch him and his mistress. Which he even replied that he knows i dont have that mind. That i am still a child.

Fastward to November he started asking for a divorce because he of his mistress he met online. Telling both his colleagues and family members that I am diabolic which is not true. I feel bad because this same man have also confided in me telling me things about his boss and others. We are currently separated

I just regret everything. I regret confinding in him and opening up to him. With pleas from everywhere, he is still insisting on divorce.

The wall geckos are cute. But they deserve to die when they can't even be natural and eat pests the way they should. It means your pots are most attractive to them.

MY NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE
This time last year, my life flashed in front of my eyes. It was the closest near death experience I’ve ever had. My folks will say if the death that ought to kill someone end up shaving your head, then one should have every reason to be grateful. I had an interview appointment with KPMG in Lagos, so I had to travel all the way. Unfortunately, I was involved in a road crash on the popular Lagos/Ibadan highway.

From the onset, I had this uneasy feeling because the bus made a loud sick creaky sound when it was started at the park. As a matter of fact, its rickety looks was baffling than usual. But waiting for the next bus wasn’t an option. The probability of missing my interview was 90 percent putting the steady traffic into deliberation. Or should I say I prioritized KPMG’s offer than my own life. A risk I will never take again.

Just about an hour into the journey, we were out of the city in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I could feel the bus forcefully pick up speed as we cruised down the pothole ridden highway. We were going pretty fast at about 100km per hour. The mere thought of the rigors I was going to go through in Lagos as the sun arose from its slumber made me exhausted from within. That informed my decision to get some sleep as I fell slowly into slumber.

I was just about dreaming about myself in 3pieces Italian suit repping KPMG and travelling all over at KPMG’s call, attending world class trainings and conferences beyond the shores of Nigeria, applying all the special graces, etiquettes and poise learnt from school of poise during business dinners and meeting tall beautiful and brilliant career ladies. As I imagined my radiantly glowing future with KPMG, I felt a smile on my gentle face.

Then all of a sudden I heard a very deafening bang from behind… dearest brethren the rear tire blew out (bursted) on motion and immediately the jostle for the steering began as one of the passenger seated by the driver was either competing or helping the driver to have that much needed life saving grip on the steering. Everyone started shouting Mohammed, Jesus, Ifa as the bus swerved left and right simultaneously on the road with death lurking at the corner. Babies were crying as mothers called out to their children.
That moment, my calmness superseded that of River Oni in Efon Alaaye Ekiti state. That innate fear of death we were all born with just vanished, and nothing really mattered any more. But the thought of how they are going to deliver my dead body to my family petrified me. I could visualize my brother or my sister already claiming my body in tears. I pitied the struggles of my parents but what do I do? I muttered to myself Mum, Dad, and Siblings….this is where it all ends. I love you so much. I wanted to reach for my pen to write down my own epitaph but I could not find my pen.

I began to wonder what becomes of all my mahogany tall dreams of the future I have always envisioned. So condolence registered will be opened? Just like that? I thought I was going to be another case of many that were born talented but die unknown. That moment I knew the whole lot that makes us human is just pure vanity. I had no choice than to close my eyes with the expectations of opening them in the afterlife.

The driver applied break and then bus tumbled off the road, rolled down by the side twice and fell into a mini cliff around shagamu. It was such a gory sight to behold. I thought I was going to die. The chilly breeze on my body was the best thing I’ve ever felt. I was so grateful that I wasn’t even injured at all. I was the first to get out alive unaided before people came to the rescue. Some people were carried off in Frsc truck designated as ambulance almost breathless as they fight against death unconsciously.

I realized two people were trapped inside the bus. In fact, I wanted to sit where they were seated, but I changed my seat twice by divine arrangement. I wasn’t certain if they made it out alive, because I didn’t stay long enough to find out. I left the scene and got picked up by a Good Samaritan that was heading towards my destination. It is a pity our government really do not value the life of her citizens. If they really do, every bus in our parks would have been monitored and regulated before every trip. In fact, the sight of some of them is enough reason for a life impoundment.

Nonetheless, this experience has taught me never to forsake myself at the expense of anything again. I should not have cared about getting late for the interview or even missing it. If I had died, KPMG will not pay me a kobo because I am not even an employee yet. I have learnt to appreciate the people around me the more.

To everyone reading this right now, please take a second to appreciate everything in your life. Tell your parents you love them. Call your best friends for hook up sometimes. Because you never know what can happen unpredictably. “May we not travel whenever the highway is hungry” like my folks would pray. I thank God for sparing my life and I still made it to the venue of interview that same day on time and passed. My friends said I should have gone back home immediately after the accident though.

Why don't you tell people to be cautious of vehicles they intend on traveling in? That was obviously the problem and the Most Important Thing to tell. Everybody who entered that vehicle did so at their own peril. They all decided to ignore glaring signs that the vehicle was poorly patched up, and look at how it ended.

Lesson: when you see a patched up, ugly, discolored, battered, scary-looking vehicle and you have misgivings, be lucky you noticed and do not get on it, be it a taxi or long distance trip. That vehicle was not destined to pick you up.

You've got qualified aeronautic engineers? Heck, are Nigerian material engineers up to scratch? Are you an engineer with a dream? You really blow a lot of hot air.

And don't tell people about "discouraging luxury expenditure". Your president is still living the luxurious life and he doesn't intend to stop soon. Even if Nigeria begins to manufacture shoes, there are people who still want to wear Prada and will continue to.

I think there reaches a time in one's life where they weigh their options against the benefits, and not against their pride/fears/shame.

I hate to think that you conceal other conditions simply because you're afraid. You should realize you're showing these things to medical personnel, not silly people. The end result is that they will give you medical solutions. There is nothing so shocking to anybody who works in a hospital, because human beings always will have conditions. And better not get ashamed if one of those medical personnel laughs or expresses shock or something. They're human. All you want is the solution to your condition.

Some of life's most difficult problems have the easiest solutions. Go to a hospital. Now you've been given a name to the condition, go online and search out exercises that will build you up while you save up.

Geez. People can kill themselves over nothing. Don't be one of such people.

And lest I forget, tell your mother. All the people stayting that they had similar problems didn't just turn out okay afterwards, they told their parents. You might think that she'd think nothing of it, but you've never showed her. You don't know if she will take you more seriously. Explain to her what you've discovered about it medically before showing her, in case she's one of those religious fanatics. I know that there are some embarrassing things, but don't you think you ought to show her? You might not know if it's hereditary and she's keeping quiet because you've never told her about it.

Yes! Nigeria has unarguably the best market in Africa, because of our huge population and standard purchasing power, think about it,any business can thrive in Nigeria, little wonder we have many foreign companies like MTN,Shell,DHL,Emirates Airline etc... Because we've got the market... oh yes
3.Ease of Living
Many will agree with me that Nigeria Is a very easy country to live in compared to UK,the US,Germany and other abroad countries. This is because in Nigeria, you can live according to ur income,I.e. there are many cheap houses,no one is compelled to pay tax,the bills like electricity, water bills are relatively cheap.
4.Diverse Opportunities
Here in Naija,you can become whatever you wanna be,you can do whatever you wanna do as long as you have the capital and skills to do it,.. Whether you wanna go into importation like the Igbos ,or you wanna dive into agriculture, or perhaps you wanna start a company or you wanna open a big provisions store, you can here in Nigeria.
5.Economic Growth
Who wan argue? Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa, it's the second-top investment destination in Africa, our economy grows very fast each year, this only shows you that we are heading there"

1. Bragging rights: You are not subjected to needing a visa internally, but you people subject yourselves to tribal and geographical sentiments year in and year out.
2. Good market; the market is large because you people are always having babies. It is a grave sin not to overpopulate the place. No wonder it's stuffy and filthy.
3. Ease of living: Lol.

6. There is law and orderliness (You can't use a siren or get preferential treatment because you're rich) you must obey the law or you pay heavily.
7. Free education(no ASUU strike) and health care.
8.We make good money (A janitor, Bus driver earns what a Nigerian bank manager earn in one month in just 2 weeks

9. Everything works.

No 3 though. Not entirely true. Or the Americans wouldn't have been protesting and constantly reporting occurences of police brutality.
