True Christians today follow the footsteps of their master
True Christians in all ages who follow in the footsteps of their Master do not have to be ludicrous. At least, I'm not the only one who tried to make sense out of your reconstruction of history; so take a cue from another:

You just made a wholly ludicrous point here.I was not aware that the warring parties in 2nd World War fought "in the name of God"
Or did we both miss it on WWII?? huh
Christianity EtcRe: Ladies' Hair In Church by TellyB(m): 6:27pm On Jun 09, 2007
It's the same. grin

When I say, "cover your body", I guess you won't come back asking if I meant to differentiate the "essentials" from body? grin For a start, substitute the word "chest" as the first essential. So it becomes:

"Cover your chest!"

Is that any different from my leaving out the "essentials" and instead saying this:

"Cover your body!"

Abeg, cover the hair - as long as the hair dey for your head! Unless, some people have started growing their hair somewhere else! tongue

Religion will soon be something from the past.
Religion have no future.
Ojibijibijibi!  grin Anglais is really not some of our first lingo.

So, religion will soon be something FROM the past = it will come FROM the past to the presentcool

But a contradiction comes in the second line: Religion have no future!

In which case, even though it has no future, it will still come FROM the past!

Reverend:
Millions of men, women and children die each year on this planet and the invisible man (God, Allah, Buddah etc) does nothing to stop it or intervene?
Since you're pretending to exist, how many of those people have you helped?

And mr Reverend, why is it that your kinkyclub-mary-magdalene has bowed under pressure and no longer show the public the nude baptism pictures of AFRICANS on your website? Is that how fickle you and your kinky group can submit to the one-man squad of bari_kade? What's your dad, the Rev. Fletcher up to now after his retirement from his kinky-club? huh

Too much of scriptural verbiage wears me down.
I really do not mind "too much" of scripture, or even too much of scriptural verbiage. . . as long as they're right on target on whatever topic is being discussed. What would we do if there were rather too few of those that leave us nowhere? cheesy

Worse than that, it's the same recycled material that is now worn out after re-use.
No, my dear bari_kade. They're not 'empty skits'. They may not be germane to the topic of this thread; but I tried to reason along with the message in the minds of the producers of those movies. Maybe a few mishaps here and there; but overall, I commend their efforts. . . especially at the end in part 4. wink

IslamRe: Islam Religion Of Peace by TellyB(m): 5:03pm On Jun 09, 2007
davidylan:
The facts:
The first Crusade began in 1095… 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies, 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Muslim armies, 453 years after Egypt was taken by Muslim armies, 443 after Muslims first plundered Italy, 427 years after Muslim armies first laid siege to the Christian capital of Constantinople, 380 years after Spain was conquered by Muslim armies, 363 years after France was first attacked by Muslim armies, 249 years after Rome itself was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of church burnings, killings, enslavement and forced conversions of Christians.

By the time the Crusades finally began, Muslim armies had conquered two-thirds of the Christian world.
It didn't end there. Based on Muhammad's prophecies, the elements of Islamic terrorism have their eyes, ears and hearts fixated on one exiting people group - does the picture below translate?

                       When they do this, they're sending a message!!

Christianity EtcRe: Should Christians Judge? Read And Discuss by TellyB(m): 4:57pm On Jun 09, 2007
@Topic: Should Christians Judge? Read And Discuss

Good food for thought.

I wonder, though, how much of the salient points presented here are actually known by experience among many Christians. It seems that in many quarters today, discernment is the one thing that hugely missing in the lives and testimony of many people.
Christianity EtcRe: Saturday Or Sunday by TellyB(m): 4:51pm On Jun 09, 2007
Gentlemen, Please.

@Bobbyaf,
If you've got anything to say, please do so. If nothing, then you are not helping your sabbatical position with these recent games.

@bari_kade,
Point made. There are no exemptions in the Sabbath Law; and any excuses thereto are simply dishonest and rebellious.

Can we expect to read something more mature henceforth, please?
Christianity EtcRe: How Christians Pray by TellyB(m): 7:53am On Jun 09, 2007
@topic,

Although the initial concerns were more about some practices the originator is averse to, I think it would be great for us Christians to share what we know on the subject of prayer. Perhaps a good place to start:

Acts 6:4 - 'But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.'
