salsera:I'll do the same. ![]() |
redsun:Whatever OBJ does is not reason enough to question your "authenticity" as human. If he didn't even do anything at all, we would still be human all the same; and he has chosen to express his own humanity in that course of action. ![]() |
@babyosisi, Lol, I'm amazed at oyb's logic. I'm even more amazed at bari_kade's scissors at his post. ![]() |
Neither. Religion is for poor people.
Maybe. But Christianity is a relationship that welcomes everyone (rich, poor, black, white, etc) to God's loving grace in Christ. ![]() |
@Bobbyaf, Bobbyaf:In that case, I would go along with bari_kade's persuasions, and strongly so. Calling the Word of God ridiculous in an unrepentant spirit that fails to examine the stipulations of the Sabbath Law will only continue to throw out your arguments. If you want to take your sabbath Law from EXODUS, then you are bound to keep it with its stipulations - nothing less of that, because the Law made no room for any type of exemptions or excuses! Bobbyaf:That is no excuse for arguing that Christians should keep the sabbath law. David committed adultery with Uriah's wife - is that an excuse that you would one day do the same with a sister in SDA because God forgave David? Bobbyaf:I don't read him as judging you. The difference is quite clear: Jesus did not work as a professional in helping the sick; whereas your argument convinces readers that you're excusing the fact that you work for your pockets. If you really want to help the sick on your chosen sabbath, go to work every sabbath day and reject any salaries that would acrue to you on such days that you sign into work! Bobbyaf:Obviously, you have been. How? Making excuses for a sabbath law from Exodus that you do not understand. ![]() |
@sage, Although I have not read every single entry on this thread, I am persuaded that your assumptions are a bit overblown, or rather dishonest. It is actually intellectually disingenuous to pass off comments like these: sage:What are you hoping to achieve by these blatant lies in the name of trying to argue for your version of Biblical Christianity? I think you ought to repent before the Lord, because you may think you're promoting His interest; but openly and shamelessly lying in His name really throws out your arguments. Christianity is NOT a big time harlot! The Bible does not state it so. Go read Rev. 17:5 carefully. Even when you're bitter against what you do not understand, at least have the humility to be honest in your statements. |
stimulus:Hehe. . . e be like say virus from anoda person don catch you! ![]() |
nyabinghi:So, how have you actually added to our knowledge at all about Islam? Did Muhammad perform any miracles - yes or no? ![]() |
Hmmm. . . I'm really learning from you guys. Well done to the think-tanks on this topic. ![]() |
@cashflowpc, Wonderful! I see you've fine-tuned your post to make it more understandable. Many blessings. ![]() ------------------------- @donnie, donnie:Why so? |
Lol @oyb, ![]() You try. . . but you need to try some more! TOGETHER and SEPARATELY do not mean the same thing. You've only managed to come round proving yet again that men and women do not pray together in the mosques. The question is: WHY? |
Lol, @mrpataki, mrpataki:It all depends on who is perceived as a slave. The ijma is not deliberated willy-nilly as some might think. No concensus is reached on any matter until due consultations have been offered from all quarters of recognized authorities. The important thing to note here is that a concensus reached by ijma cannot be changed - it is irrevokable! That is why careful deliberations are painstakingly involved in before a matter is settled. |
@bari_kade,
Hmmm. I'm learning new things everyday. If not for this, I would still have been thinking it was only the Qur'an and the Hadith. Now I understand why there so many practices among Muslims that are not found in the Qur'an.
Indeed there are so many Muslim practices that are outside the Qur'an. But of those which we do know, they are not entirely divorced from the Qur'an or Hadith. The one thing that settles any an Islamic injunction is the ijma - the consensus; and that has to be carefully and painstaingly deliberated upon before they are offered to the ummah (Muslim community). |
@mrpataki, mrpataki:Wetin I start? You station me among intellectuals to make olodo like me appear clever! I beg O. . . I never reach their grade yet! |
@Bobbyaf and bari_kade, You have both argued back and forth on this issue and have passionately put your views across. However, I am concerned that the discussion is spiralling out of context on either side and thus leaving some fundamental questions yet unattended. This will only lead to more questions being raised, more arguments fomented, heated debates vamped up, and readers somewhat more confused than when we first began. On either side, we should please aim for simplicity in our discussions. While not quickly laying blame yet on anyone (as surely there are shortcomings), there are yet fantastic points which could be sifted from both sides. For instance, I'm strongly persuaded by bari_kade's insight that any Christian making a case for keeping a Sabbath Law is bound to do so by following its stringent stipulations. That at once deflates Bobbyaf's evasions and counter arguments for any so-called 'exemptions'. The Law allowed for no such exemptions at all. On the other hand, Bobbyaf makes a good point about connecting the origins of the Sabbath to Genesis 2:3; but his premises are all the more flawed by confusing the Sabbath commandment in Exodus and divorcing it from its stipulations. My concerns, however, are about whether or not we have been asking the right questions and seeking to address the fundamental issues on this topic. We should not so be enslaved to observing a day - any day for that matter (Gal. 4:9-11). The one thing that should occupy our hearts is the Lord Himself. That is why I so appreciate the point bari_kade brought up about 1 Cor. 11:24 & 25 where the apostle Paul reiterated the Lord's appeal: this do in remembrance of ME! But is there anything wrong with worshipping on Saturday? Romans 14:5 gives us freedom in the Lord Jesus Christ where each person should be fully persuaded in their own minds. The base line is that, Sabbatarians should not argue to judge other Christians who do not keep a Saturday sabbath (Col. 2:16). And non-sabbatarians should be careful that they do not judge their sabbath-keeping brethren. Remember that whatever we do, we should not put a stumbling block in the path of others (I Cor. 8:9). Although we individually possess brilliant minds in our various persuasions, we should aim for simplicity and the grace given us in the Lord Jesus Christ to seek the welfare of others. For this reason, perhaps Gal. 5:14-15 is appropriate to close my comments: For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. God bless y'all. ![]() |
@nyabinghi, nyabinghi:I haven't noticed you debunking any posts as having been posted without facts. And your own vexations seem to be more of rubbish you ask others not to post on threads. nyabinghi:He was watching Muslims doing their acts of terror and proving to the world that Islam is violent by default. The 9/11 saga is still being denied by many Muslims today; but it did not stop there - there were spates of the similar terrorist acts to follow: 7/7 in London; bombings in Spain and Indonesia; nevermind those that occur almost everyday in Iraq - all in the usual chants of Allahu Akbar! nyabinghi:To be sure, homosexuality is not a Christian celebration. However, please make no mistakes about it; for their are gay Muslims and Imams as well. Ask for facts, and I'll be all too glad to provide them aplenty! Here's just one pci to whet your appetite:The Community of GAY Muslims - We Exist Too!! . . . and We Want Israel ANNIHILATED!! https://kenlydell.typepad.com/islamic_evil/images/purple_jihad.jpg These are the same people who call for peace and still want Israel DESTROYED! Well done!! nyabinghi:Oh yes; and surely, Benny Hinn received quite a mouthful from Christians who know the Bible. But then, it is not true that Muhammad entrenched looting by Jihad in Islam? Or why else have Muslims been speaking of the war "booties" which Muhammad championed? nyabinghi:Were these issues celebrated by Christians? Or does the Bible make a claim that such would not happen among people who profess to be Christians? Whereas, Muslims often try to hide the fact that worse have happened in the Muslim world. Can we just cite just one out of hundreds of cases in my fav folder: Madrassas Hit By Sex Abuse Claims 'A Pakistani minister has revealed hundreds of cases of alleged child sex abuse at Islamic schools, or madrassas. There were 500 complaints this year of abuse allegedly committed by clerics, Aamer Liaquat Hussain, a minister in the religious affairs department, said. 'That compares with 2,000 last year, but as yet there have been no successful prosecutions, Mr Hussain told the BBC. The minister's revelations have sparked death threats and infuriated some religious political leaders. Mr Hussain said he had received death threats from clerics, but that he had done his job and his conscience was clear.' Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/4084951.stm If you want more, please simply ask. On a wide ratio, Islam has 10 cases to any 1 "Christian" case - and those are just what I know. The margin may even be wider than that by people who know more; but in whatever case you review (prostitution, terrorism, looting, etc), Islam is far more inglorious than any religion on the face of the earth. Ask me, and I'll pour them out by a click of the botton! ![]() nyabinghi:If you were a Christian, you would have understood the meaning of calling Christianity "belzebuul". Obviously you do not; and are merely going by what you picked up here and there. In anycase, Islam is sinking fast. Go ask the Sheik who clearly said that about 667 Muslims are leaving Islam daily! And if you want a more comprehensive list apart from the Sheik's claim, I'm only a click away! ![]() |
Humility. From the Life of Jesus Himself. ![]() |
@dantanee, dantanee:When you open your response with such uncouth language and shout them all in capital letters, it makes me wonder at the vacancy of thought and intelligence that we often read from you guys. Is this all that Islam has to offer; or you were just displaying your talent on the Forum? dantanee:Since the east and west are said to belong to Allah, what is so special about facing the EAST, and not rather the WEST? Notice also here that it is not a claim now about facing the Qiblah; but here it specifically mentions the directions of east and west. That is why this topic thread has been seeking for reasonable answers from knowledgeable Muslims. dantanee:If the sole purpose of appointing the Kaa'ba was only to test those who followed Muhammad, then it nullifies Muhammad's claim that the Mecca shrine was first built by Adam and then taken up by Abraham! This claim renders the whole of the Qiblah direction worthless, since there is then no substance in facing the Kaa'ba other than a simple test! dantanee:I was actually waiting for Muslims to come up with this particular ayah from the Qur'an. Two very vital questions I have always sought to ask are these: (a) Was the Qiblah in Mecca (the Kaa'ba) chosen by Allah to simply please Muhammad and Muslims? So, who is being pleased here - your Allah; or Allah is seeking to please Muhammad? (b) As regards "the people of the Book" (Christians and Jews), we know that the truth is that the Kaa'ba, the Black Stone, and the Qiblah have no place in divine worship. There is no Scripture verse or historical record that authenticate Muhammad's claims that all those issues began with Adam. What is even more, Muslims today stand embarrassed when asked these questions; for they have nothing to show as evidence for the claims made about the Black Stone and the Kaa'ba. Waht we do know, however, is that the Kaa'ba was formerly the house of idolatory and paganism before Muhammad swept other idols out of the Kaa'ba and retained the Black Stone for his new religion. Muhammad's companions also noted that the Black Stone had no special significance; and they only followed the ritual of touching and kissing it simply because they saw Muhammad doing so. They had no historical, religious or any other reason why they kissed the Stone. So, just because Muhammad made some claims about it in the Qur'an does not prove anything at all. dantanee:Neither Abraham nor Ishmael were connected to the Kaa'ba. If they were connected at all to it, then why did Muhammad at first face the direction of Jerusalem in prayer when Mecca already existed? Faced by the very embarrassing situation, Muhammad immediately offered this "revelation" to soothe the amazement of his followers. There is just no substance in that verse. dantanee:Christians and Jews know that the Kaa'ba had no connection with Abraham. Rather, it was a shrine for paganism. dantanee:In other words, they are not facing east when prayng, as Muslims have claimed previously? We have Muslims here telling us that anywhere one faces is EAST. I hope they can take correction from you. dantanee:The thick brains seem to be coming from your camp; so please educate them. dantanee:Do we then take it that the sacred place moved from Jerusalem to Mecca? And what was the reason apart from "only testing" Muhammad's companions and "Allah trying to please Muhammad"? Have you really answered the question or just displayed another midcourse dribble? |
@mukina2, Well, what can I say? First you banned me; then you suspended me; next you made me cry and laugh. . . and now you're giving me trophies and badges for simply being me - only me, Telly B?? ![]() |
@Sharn06, Sharn06:Christianity predated Islam; and it was Muhammad who first started the criticism. If anything at all, I have not called any Muslim 'the worst of creatures' or compared them to Iblis (that is, Satan - Q.7:13). But this is precisely what Muhammad accused Christians of when they refused to follow his religion: Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures. Qur'an 98:6 [Hilali-Khan's translation]. Now, if Muhammad would actually make simple-minded Muslims believe that I'm going to hell, and also that I'm the worst of creatures for not believing in Islam, then I choose not to be mute or politically correct. That accusation alone spurred me into being a voracious reader of as many Islamic material that I possibly could lay my hands on, in order to understand the rational for that accusation. On the one hand, it was rather my huge surprise to discover instead that it was actually Muslims who would be made to ENTER into hell fire - by an irrevocable decree of Allah (Q. 19:71). On the other hand, I'm still challenging the Islamic allegation that I'm one of the "worst of creatures" for no other crime than my being a Christian! At least, I haven't read Buddhism calling me the worst of creatures. Nor have I read some other religions comparing me to Iblis. As far as Islam by injunction of the Qur'an has so alleged that calumny against me, I stand up to challenge that allegation and to defend my raison d'être as a Christian with a blessed hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, my only Hope and sure Saviour. If that reads as "critizing the other faiths", I would sooner remove my posts when I learn that Sura 98:6 is struck out, abrogated or cancelled from the Qur'an. Allah has both abrogated and cancelled verses from his Qur'an - therefore, he can also do the same thing with Q. 98:6. Each time I open the Qur'an and find that ayah there, it's only fitting for me to intellectually challenge the theology behind that accusation, while at the same time leaving it up to Muslims to explicate the many verses that see Jews and Christians through the spectacles of such verses. So there. |
@davidylan, That up there - that's another islamodictionary phrase. A difficult one to translate, but comes close to this: TOLERANCE not quite, but close enough! ![]() |
@davidylan, davidylan:Yes, infact. . . em, I just forgot that there's a new Islamodictionary about the few words being employed to promote the "peace of Islam" ala oyb. * butcher them - that's Da'wah (educate them) * slay them - it means to be 'friendly' * exterminate them - a perculiar word for 'salutations' * demolition is on the way - 7th century word for 'dialogue' * behead those - to embrace jannah (paradise) * massacre those - to let the voice be heard, to proclaim softly with sweet voice! On the whole, my dear dave, it is you and I who have failed to see the obvious meaning of these beautiful Arabic words. Therefore, we are not going to achieve anything by deliberately misrepresenting "the religion of peace" with our English dictionaries. And one more thing, dave. . . Jihad simply means 'honeymoon'. So, take note and you and I should henceforth stop misusing words. You hear?!? ![]() |
TayoD:True. The 'guy' in question works in kolo factory - that's another FACT from factology!! ![]() |
Actually, if we should even pay any heed, the new earth should be reserved for non-Muslims. Why? Because Islam by default chases non-Muslims out, and not the other way round. So, we should be going to the new earth - and not Muslims who should be chasing everyone out!! ![]() |
@belloti, belloti:At least you're being forthright and honest there. My small worry, though, is that you clearly contradicted yourself in one breath. Besides the penal code, even recent history bears testimony to the fact that Muslims have killed without recourse to any judicial process. For Sharn06's sake, I'll spare us the eyesore of filling this page with statistics and pictures to the point. Rather, I'll just express my sentiments with this stamp: https://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/6112/3874/200/100302502_aba926f127%5B1%5D.7.jpg |
It seems strange that they're told how to ENTER hell fire; but nowhere are they told how to GET OUT of the same hell alive. Okay, I concede that on the one hand, Allah has made a decree to send each and every muslim (without exception)* to hell according to Sura 19:71. On the other hand, it is the same Allah who brings them out of hell (and leaves some in it). The question here is: what is the guarantee that any Muslim is sure to be removed from hell, when in fact there is no guarantee but merely 'if Allah wills'?? The crossing over a bridge is NOWHERE alluded to in the Qur'an; but the mullahs have taken upon a hadith and encased their hope in it even though it runs in direct contradistinction to what is in the Qur'an? ![]() *Actually, the exceptions of prophets and jihadists came later after Muhammad was pressurised to release a Qur'anic verse for the question - but that verse of the Qur'an was later cancelled!! Anyone saying that the Qur'an is complete with all the verses hasn't checked out the facts - ask and I'll provide the Hadith references. |
@belloti, belloti:Lol, I don't see how you've done justice to my questions - we only just started to scratch the surface. ![]() belloti:And how is it the seal of the prophets other than his own personal claim to be so? Is there any measuring yeardstick by the revelations of the previous prophets? belloti:Where in the Qur'an is the shahada? |
Comedy Central. ![]() |
@oyb, oyb:Oh, I see. In that case, we have only just scratched on the surface. Here. let's reel back the tape and see where we come short of your exploits: # Christians in the last decade should have championed the cause of Usama bin Laden and brought down the WTC (aka 9/11) # Christians should have championed the 7/7 bombings in London # Christians should have been been held responsible for a global riot when Jesus Christ was cartooned # Christians should have been known in sports attire like this: https://clarityandresolve.com/soccer_fatwa.jpg (Okay, the picture is fake - my rascal friend dunnit!!) ![]() There are still a few. But overall, we really don't envy you guys when it comes to terrorism. Hands down, you win! ![]() |
Lol, @davidylan, Actually, I'm working late today. . . so I decided to school oyb just a little. ---------------- @oyb, When I get home or return next week (I'm away again over the weekend), then you'll be reading an indepth analysis of the throes Muhammad served those who he visited with his message of the religion of peace. Meanwhile, I'd just like to know: what did you hope to score when you started your drivel? Did you suppose that you could forcibly read "Jihad" into the Bible as the mission engaged in by Jesus Christ? Whatever it is, you'd just have to look home a bit closer to your worries and first seek to understand the games your scholars are shortchanging you with; then when I return next week, we'll some biscuits over whatever you've posted and take them in bits. PS. Need more "pictures and evidence and facts" about Faces in Islam? I'm just a knock away - ask and thou shalt be promptly served!! ![]() |
