IslamRe: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by TellyB(m): 4:48pm On May 29, 2007
@Al Raheem,

If asking indepth questions are typically interpreted as insulting Islam, then Muslims should stop asking any questions at all!! At least, I am aware that the Qur'an forbids Muslims asking questions anyway; so it's not surprising that most Muslims continue to offer vexations instead of answers whenever questions are raised.

Muslims are the ones telling us that every Muslims faces east; that Mecca is the center of the earth; that there are two easts and two wests in the Qur'an; that Muslims are forbidden from either facing the Kaa'ba or backing it when answering nature's call, etc., etc.,. . .

HOW does it become an insult for one to asks questions challenging what is NOT true??

Actually Telly B ,This post was not for you, i was just replying to somebody else,but i can see that you recognise yourself when i talk about Fanatics .
Actually, I'm still sorry to note you're trapped in Fanatism
Did you wake up in front of a blurred mirror?

If your responses were to someone else, what was the point quoting me in the first instance? You should be man enough to be honest when making statements. And yes, man enough to proffer answers about your "black jesus". cool

Thank God for intellectuals who can openly admit certain trends even though they may have intended it for others.

@oyb,

I guess both words (and some others as well) are quite applicable. Just make take your pick - bigots, fanatics, zealots, etc. The point is that we should all grow up and deal with issues instead of playing games.  cool

@Horus,

Horus:
Today i learn at church
What church was that?

Horus:
that God is telling people to eat flesh and drink blood.
The word “cannibalism” according to the American Heritage Dictionary is defined as “eating the flesh of other human beings.”
According to The Bible in John 6:54-57, 2 Kings 6:28-29, and Ezekiel 39:17, God is telling people to eat flesh and drink blood.
Where did God "tell" people to eat flesh and drink blood in 2 Kings 6:28-29 and Ezekiel 39:17?

Did you read the context of John 6:54-57?

What do you have to say about your "black jesus" who no one knows today, or who has simply been forgotten? What did your black jesus do for you?

@BillGatesFan,

grin In my superfluous opinion, papa Adam should have moved to the spot that defines Lagos. You won't believe how many people who have no idea of Nigeria as a country still yet are well-acquainted with Lagos! grin

Now, the Isaiah 4:1 issue - hmmm, could we precipitate the endtimes so that we're closer to it than preachers would have us believe?? Any suggestions, pal? grin Meanwhile, if you're caught with your trousers down when Jesus comes, my hand no dey!

I've taken a peep at the Mantra and will need time to collect my thoughts and make meaningful inputs.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Does The Muslims Do Not Pray In English. by TellyB(m): 11:42am On May 29, 2007
Now, now, guys. . . I think it is quite a good question. From what little I know on this issue, Muslims are passionate that the language to be used in addressing God is Arabic. That is what they passionately believe - because that is what their religion makes them believe.

Although not a Muslim myself, I'm quizzed about the ideas for this Arabic language having to be the one lingua franca to Allah. You won't believe it, but actually, just as Christians believe that tongues in the Spirit helps us speak to God, so the Muslims believe that Arabic does it for them.

Another reason they believe so is because they claim that the richness of Arabic as a language is unmatuched in its distinctives in contrast with other languages. For example, certain languages like our English may be able to distinguish between the genders (he, she, or even it); but it even reaches deeper in Arabic. How?

Well, while you have a single word for the plural gender ("them" for two males or females and several neuter), Arabic has different words for the plural genders for two males, two females.

My concern here is that the Semitic languages also have this distinctives; so it really hasn't scored a point with me, even though the Arabic distinctions are true!

Later today, if I can find time, I'll post a bit more on this very passionate topic, to help us non-Muslims understand (and appreciate) why Muslims adhere to Arabic as a very important language in their religion and culture.

Cheers all. wink

@richylaw,

I appreciate yours. However, whether or not Horus is on the wrong path is quite a different thing from his actually seeking to learn. If someone has made up his/her mind before examining what he calls FACTS, then it is hightime to take him home for some personal schooling. And I'd like to start here with his theory of a "black jesus" as lesson 1. cool

Meanwhile, it doesn't stop the flow of the thread topic. Perhaps opening another thread is not going to yield much fruit anyway, because there's absolutely nothing to say on such fallacies. smiley
Christianity EtcRe: Foods In Goodness,passion,and Ignorance by TellyB(m): 11:19am On May 29, 2007
I knew that was coming - shows how dense I could be sometimes! grin

I'd rather be married and have kids - as many as a footnball team! Why? Make everyone of them an evangelist to take the goodnews to others.

Also, I'd like to appreciate those who are truly celibate; not because they're fulfilling an institutionalized ordinance as prerequisite for a certain position; but truly celibate because it comes from within their own hearts.

Fair enough? cool
Christianity EtcRe: The Glories Of Perfect Celibacy by TellyB(m): 11:16am On May 29, 2007
Hehe, @BillGatesFan.

You're dead on spot! Jesus was celibate; but He also recognized that not everyone could possibly be celibate as well (Matt. 19:12).

As for following his footsteps, I'm trying, bro. . . I'm trying ever so hard. Em, just that when He spoke of taking my Cross and following Him, I wonder how many days I'd have to be in the grave before the angels come roll away the stone for me - that is, if I'm lucky to have escaped the brutal lashes of the Roman soldiers!!  grin cheesy

BillGatesFan:
and mind you if Adam were to be alive to see what we are seeing today he caould have commited more Sin before the Lord grin
Well, that could be true as far as human conjectures go. If I were to pick for dear papa Adam, I'd ask him to first start in Lagos! grin

BillGatesFan:
only one woman he fail, what could he have done if he was in the mist of this multitudes daughters of Eve shocked shocked shocked shocked
Do you remember that Isaiah said 7 women shall take hold of 1 man in the endtime?? (Isaiah 4:1). The gents have more to contain than what transpired in Eden. I sometimes amuse myself with the silly thought that it is no wonder God drove Adam out of Eden before his kids turned certain cool shaded areas of the Garden into their red light districts!! grin

BillGatesFan:
permit me to ask you, which church do you go to ? you sound abit religious you know? I hope your a real follower of your God??
I'm a bit of a religious person still growing in the Lord. Often I fellowship with Calvary Chapel, but sometimes attend the churches my friends. cheesy

Anyway, I do appreciate your posts. Great to read from you.

Christianity EtcRe: The Glories Of Perfect Celibacy by TellyB(m): 11:02am On May 29, 2007
@BillGatesFan,

Lol, I know it is not easy. It hasn't been easy at all right from Eden (go ask Adam before they ate the fruit!) grin

However, it is not out of convenience or the difficulty of men holding the "middle region" intact that one should call for celibacy!

True, the ladies swinging and all that drama will make any bishop or imam stir in their graves (oops, pardon me). But true victory is not defined in terms of celibacy or any other austere measures. It is actully holding firm the heart in true commitment to God even in the midst of a sensuous crowd. Amen? Amen! cheesy
Christianity EtcRe: "is The Bible God's Words?" by TellyB(m): 10:57am On May 29, 2007
Lol . . @silent1,

There's just no need to wonder at the Muslim magical scholarship.

So, let's say the word "breast" appears in the Bible as quoted in Songs of Songs 4:5. Does that necessarily render the Bible as NOT the Word of God?

Relax. The Qur'an also mentions the word "BREAST" in several Suras. Sample some from YusufAli's translation:

# Qur'an 100:10 - "And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest"

# Qur'an 94:1 - "Have We not expanded thee thy breast?"

#Qur'an 84:23 - "But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)"

# Qur'an 3:154 - ". . .but (all this was) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. . ."

If anyone is complaining that the mention of the word "breast" therefore renders the Bible as no longer the Word of God, then what do they have to say about the Qur'an that mentions the same word several times?? Some of my friends pretend that the word breast in the Qur'an is simply the chest. Excuse me, but have they seen that the same Qur'an distingusihes between the two words (3:154)??

The problem is that babs787 was simply regurgitating the vexations of people like Naik Zakir and Ahmed Deedat, and he didn't have the discipline to check out what thye said before exposing his low IQ on the Forum. Neither of these fellows (and several like them) have anything of substance to pass off for Islamic apologetics. Their own holy books have answers that expose their unscholarly rants.
Christianity EtcRe: Christians Are Pretenders! by TellyB(m): 10:44am On May 29, 2007
@jerrymania,

jerrymania:

Yes i figured out what that means: Now there is the falling away (and you don't even have the knowledge of what that means), you can be deceived!
So, what in your understanding does that mean?

jerrymania:
I think this will be from the famous matthew's verse that speaks about the judgement; ", for with what judgement you mete out to others so it shall be meted out to you". I can judge and be judged. So its not evil right??
Nope, so long as you do so within the context that you those words are meant to be conveyed.

jerrymania:
Hmmm now you tell me Christians are not "fleshy" righthuh Oh mr perfect non-sinner, if its your continous bashing of the muslims (babs would testify) then you have a shell to break out from, i hope you know whats called "love"!
Being "fleshy" and being a "drop out" are two different things. You have testified that you were one of the pretenders; so don't get mad that he helped to airbrush that line, incase you missed it.

As to the continuous "bashing" of Muslims, please wake up and look well that with over 700 posts, your adulator mr babs787 has done the same and received the cobwebbed sympathy that has sent him into exile. I stumbled across this Forum while searching for something on the net; and he has not been able to hold his tuff intelligently since questions have been asked! He should be happy now to read your sympathies.

jerrymania:
Ah now who's the pretender now! YOU because you are now very fanatical! You really don't understand that verse. I knew you are one of those christians that interprets literally what they read. Now who's the "they" John referred to? and he was referring to a past event brother! not a present day movement. and i bet he wasnt talking about me shocked
That's why your pretences only become even more pronounced! Pretenders do this often - "the Bible is not to be read literally" - only when their own pretences have been highlighted.

jerrymania:
yes you stepped into this "same rubbish" by reading it right? yes a thing of the heart,that makes you more cautious and a pretender and fanatical too because "you are surrounded by a cloud of witness"! Oh christianity is now a religion but this is what stimulus wrote
Christianity is MORE of a "relationship" does not mean that it cannot be spoken of in terms of a "religion". The fanaticism and pretences have only become more pronounced because you're trying to whip up issues you can't sustain.

jerrymania:
So your bible told you christianity is a religion and stimulus's own told him its a "relationship"! You are the one who's confused.
Go read it again - stimulus made a clear statement that you didn't read through carefully.

jerrymania:
Its not a new thing if you leave christianity.and its not going to affect me in anyway if you do leave but you aint the only one in the world and i didnt write that post only for you!

Posts in a public Forum are meant to be read by every one visiting the Forum. Don't take such a beating if anyone replied - there's no rules against anyone doing so.
I believe in the Son of God and you are going to be the same person to whiplash me when i say Jesus is not God Almighty! right! clash of doctrines doesnt show the straight way to Christ. trying to be perfect would mean displaying a lot of pretence along the way.
I didn't augur for clash of doctrines. Infact, I didn't make mention of doctrines. If your concerns were about doctrine, I'll be available and willing to show you my own persuasions on just about anything you bring up - and you're not obliged to take them on board.

The thing is rather a question of labelling Christians as pretenders for your misgivings. If you're one, good for you. If you can't contain your small world, it won't fit anyone else. get the drift?
