Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 10:03pm On May 25, 2007
Horus:
Scan some page of it and show us those number on it.
If I did, would you understand Hebrew? If you could understand Hebrew, why is it so difficult for you to proffer an answer to the question I have asked about WHEN the Hebrew numbering system began??

Why is it so difficult for you to face simple issues, Horus?? Is this this style of people who celebrate their own stylized "FACTS" while passing off their ignorance?

Horus:
I do not argue,There is no need to argue with Facts.
I hear you. If you have any FACTS - please offer an answer to the question I have served you SEVERAL times.

At least, I had to offer you an answer to show you how wrong you were about Arabs "inventing" the zero (0). If I was wrong, you would have come back pointing me to the lines where I got it wrong. Now in fair exchange, do the sensible thing and go back in history about that of the Hebrew numbering system so that you can see where you have been shortchanged.
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 9:58pm On May 25, 2007
@Horus,

Horus:
The Jebusite (so-called Jew) claim that the quote in Genesis 12:3 where Yashuwa blessed Abraham, son of Terah and I quote, "and curse those who cursed him," applies to them. Christians also believe this lie, and feel this is the reason they must aid the state of Israel, for if they oppose them, they would be cursed.
I'm one of those who believes what the Bible teaches. My ignorance? Yep, but I still believe it. That is the reason why even as a black man, I'm still blessed!   cheesy

Horus:
This quote was referring to Abraham only, not the Jebusites. Genesis further tells you by Abraham; all families of the Earth are blessed. This is not referring to the Jebusite who the bible already stated were a cursed albino seed from Canaan.
Where you read albino in that passage is another celebration of your ignorance. Meanwhile, God's covenant with Abraham is being enjoyed by people from all over the world.

@Horus,

Horus:
Everybody can find an original Hebrew bible and see by themself that there were no numbers in the original Hebrew bible .Have a look at it.
I have. That is why I asked you to to go check on the history of Hebrew numbering system. Please do me that favour and answer the question. When did the Hebrew numbering system begin??

Horus:
Fact do not have Ego but belief is Ego it refusing to see Fact that belief is IGNORANCE.
That is why I have applied the very same inference to your arguements. At some point, you actually believe your arguments you post, not so?? If at all you do, then we can celebrate your own ignorance. If you don't then you've been wasting your own time.

Horus:
I do not believe, belief is IGNORANCE.
Great. So we can call off your bluff of the bacl Jesus, yes?? Hurray! cool

Horus:
God do not spoke,In order to speak you must have a larynx.
Good. So your black jesus was just a black man without nothing worth hearing about?

Horus:
God do not speak,The white Jesus never existed (only in Holywood movie)
Another great "black" reasoning. I can sympathise with your own belief where 'God' never speaks.

Horus:
The one you call, that black Jesus is Yashua and was real.
Em, do you really believe in your own assumptions? If yes, is that not worth the celebration of your own ignorance? wink
Christianity EtcRe: Women Should Not Drive - Says Islam by TellyB(m): 9:43pm On May 25, 2007
This should be an opportunity for Muslims to disolve the misconceptions that people hold about women in Islam. smiley
Christianity EtcRe: Why Muslims Why?! by TellyB(m): 9:39pm On May 25, 2007
It is true that almost every religion has experienced sad cases of its adherents involved in violence in one way or the other.

The basic concern here is: does Islam promote violence as a tenet for the cause of Allah?

We can vouch that Christianity does NOT teach Christians to be violent, even though some have been involved in them for religious reasons. Yet, would Muslims say that the Qur'an does not teach violence as a a confirmed tenet of Islam?
Christianity EtcRe: Women Should Not Drive - Says Islam by TellyB(m): 9:37pm On May 25, 2007
So, what exactly does Islam permit women to do -

#1. go to school?

#2. take up professional careers?

#3. pursue leadership positions in public life?

#4. drive cars of their own?

#5. interract freely with people (such as with men)?

What really does Islam permit or disavow as suiting to the life of a woman?
IslamRe: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by TellyB(m): 9:33pm On May 25, 2007
needeeg:
And why there prayers wouldn't be invalid?, because they have been tould that if such your prayers will be invalid after roll.
Do you realize that you're contradicting what is actually taught in Islam? I'd like you to take some time off and go review this issue and come back before we discuss further. The issues here are convoluted because:

(a) Islam teaches that prayers offered in any direction are NOT invalid

(b) now you're taking the slant views of some Muslims who say that such prayers
are invalid.

Would you like to go and review them and get the facts?

Cheers. smiley
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 9:17pm On May 25, 2007
@Horus,

Horus:
You got the answer already, there is NO 0 Number in the original hebrew Bible, just have a look in an original hebrew Bible and see the Fact by yourself.
That is why I asked the question several times and you artfully dodged it because you would only have discovered that you were wrong and were only recycling fallacies which you caould not substantiate.

In the same vein, the fallacy you offered that the Arabs "invented" the zero (0) was debunked. And that is the reason why I have asked that you get your facts straight before you post anything.

Could you please go back and check once again about your assertions? It's easy - just betake yourself a little more on the history of the numbering system, and you will have helped free yourself from the weak premises you ferret from sources that don't have the facts.

Horus:
Facts are Facts and are strongers than subtance.
Facts are facts - and that is why I have presented a few of them to debunk your Arab invention of the zero (0). Facts are facts, and they give rise to substance. Nothing can be said to be worth any substance if your premises are based on fallacies misconstrued as "facts"!!

Horus:
Issues are in your mind only due to your Ego.
Yep, that is why you have been pursuing your own EGO, No??

Horus:
Belief is IGNORANCE.
Yashua (wrongly called Jesus Christ) was really Black and i have no problem with this Fact.
What you believed in preference to the beliefs of others simply demonstrate your own ignorance - especially where they have been laid to rest.

Horus:
In The Bible Adam and Eve heard the voice of which they knew to be God, or the Lord. In order to speak you must have a larynx, and its functions are to produce sounds and keep food from entering the trachea. Does this mean that God eats, which means he needs food, and thus making him in need of a digestive systemhuh
This again shows you have no idea what you're seeking and have been shlepping up all kinds of infantile drivels to push your weak assumptions. This is in the same category with your drivel about John being an English name and therefore you had a problem with that.

God spoke to Adam and Eve, but He didn't need to be boxed up in your reductionist idea before you can receive the declaration.

Afterall, you have your own ideas about a 'black Jesus' whom you call the Son of GOD. May I ask you if God spoke to that black Jesus??
IslamRe: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by TellyB(m): 9:04pm On May 25, 2007
@needeeg,

needeeg:
You want to make sure you get lined up right, because a prayer carelessly sent in the wrong direction is invalid, or so some believe.
This is why we continue to question this issue of having to face a particular direction in prayer in Islam. Why is one's prayer considered invalid on account of not being rightly oriented in the direction of the qiblah? If Allah's face is wheresoever a Muslim turns, why would a prayer offered in another direction mean that it becomes "invalid"?

needeeg:
In the early days of the faith, determining the local qibla was a pretty basic proposition. According to the noted eighth-century imam Abu Hanifah, "The qibla of the people of the western countries is toward east; the qibla of the people of the eastern countries is toward west; the qibla of the people of the southern countries is toward north; and the qibla of the people of the northern countries is toward south."
Right. Even at that, the imam was still wrong if he thought it was that simplistic.

needeeg:
This may not seem like the world's most exacting standard, but don't be fooled--it taxed the science of the day. Various methods were proposed to determine direction, such as prevailing winds, mountains, etc., but the most reliable by far was felt to be sighting on Polaris, the north star. This, along with the need to compute prayer times based on sun location, gave rise to an interest in astronomy, navigation, and related subjects that put the Muslim world centuries ahead of Europe.
Wrong. Astronomy was a well establish discipline at least 6 centuries before the emergence of Islam. Rather, Islam borrowed from knowledge already established and consolidated on them to forge their education.

Second, what has happened to the prayers made by Muslims before the direction of the qiblah was accurately determined?

needeeg:
As time went on and scientific understanding improved, the determination of the qibla became increasingly precise. Today you can use a personal computer to determine the qibla to within fractions of a degree of arc for most major cities on the globe. (See for example www.timepalette.com/macqibla.html.)
And if one should fail by the margin of accuracy, are the prayers counted as invalid as well?

Besides, we're still waiting for the Muslim answer as to the significance of the Kaa'ba in Islam.
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 8:48pm On May 25, 2007
I have no fears, thank you. And the issues you have been pandering have been shown to have no substance. The questions I asked about your assertions for the Hebrew numbering system still remains unanswered; and you have been shlepping this racist ideology in almost every thread where you make inputs.

That is why I simply ask what your fears are? If you cannot believe in the Bible, although you have severally referred to Jesus Christ as "the true Son of God", what really has been your problem with whether anyone was Black or White?
Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Or Muhammed? Which Has Influenced More Positively Our Way Of Life Today? by TellyB(m): 8:45pm On May 25, 2007
This was supposed to be a round table discussion between Christians and Muslims. There should be no fear in evaluating the contributions of either Jesus and/or Muhammad on our way of life.

Muslims can appreciate Muhammad's contributions to their way of life in terms of the many certain issues that Islam has brought to those who embrace that religion. What are they? This is where Muslims should help highlight them.

Christians can well appreciate the areas in their lives that they feel that Jesus Christ has deeply impacted them. Peace and confident trust in God? The blessed promises - salvation that saves us without the idea of going to hell? What really is it?

This should be an interesting thread.  smiley

IslamRe: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by TellyB(m): 8:16pm On May 25, 2007
There's no truth in the so-called concept of Islam being a religion of peace. Your own attitude as a Muslim who is unable to deal with issues and resorting to abuses are solid testimony of the fact.

The Father doesn't fry anyone. If that is what Islam teaches, I'd be glad to read it in your tafsir, as it does not appear in the Qur'an.

Meanwhile, the Muslims knew nothing about the name of the God revealed to the Biblical prophets.

Toss a coin here: if you can tell me His name, then I will show you what that means in Islam. That is the reason why up until now I have been focusing on Sura 19:71.

whats your view about both of them being muslims
is one good and one bad?
I'm not in any position to judge a MUSLIM! All I understand is that Allah will judge Muslims on the Day of Ressurection according to THEIR good and bad deeds. Since I have not lived with them to know the balance on the scales of either man's works, I'll simply leave that for Muhammad the prophet who said that Allah is watcher over men - and no Muslims can claim to be a judge or watcher.

If you know of any Muslim who can ignore Muhammad's words and disregard the Qur'an on this point, please let me know.
