@donnie,

Is it too much to humbly see and acknowledge your pride as having no place in true spirituality? undecided

this opinion sounds atheistic to me,
It rather is a confused and misplaced ramble. The author of the quote in yours is neither here nor there.

Sharn06:
true talk, drbelliom
@Sharn06 and drbelliom,

I may agree with you only in part - that across board, decorum is the watchword that we should all strive to preserve in our discussions.

However, in quoting davidylan you have failed to see his context. If he sounded quite unsaintly in that quote, does babs787 deserve any knighthood for his games and the fact that he referred to his own Muslim authors as "deluded authors that lied in order to deceive"?? Does a Muslim do that to other Muslims?!?

                    https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-52589.32.html#msg1108087

I think we should aim to add one more ingredient to our concerns of this nature - BALANCE!! When we are quick to notice such concerns in Christian quotes, we should be as quick as well to notice the same things in Muslim posts!

It is really hilarious that these concerns are rarely (if ever) expressed when Muslims use uncouth language on the Forum. Many times, "concerned Christians" do not notice such strictures from our Muslim friends; but they're quick to raise the flags and pound their desk in what they now often refer to as bashing Muslims!! Haba!

Could we just adjust our radars and detectors a little more so that we see the balance in our concerns?
Christianity EtcRe: Christians Are Pretenders! by TellyB(m): 9:49am On May 29, 2007
Em. . . @jerrymania,

My pastor used to say: "If you entered as a dramatist, when the performance is over you will put off your costumes and face the real life off the stage!"

By implication, I would say that being a pretender does not make others what you were. Even when we as true Christians fail, we make no pretences about our failures - but in God we have found real strength to go on gloriously in His love.

It's time to put away the costumes - and face the REALITY in the Son of God. cheesy

BillGatesFan:
All glories,all glories,all glories to such Victorious souls!May they forever inspire us.
#1. There are no such souls - how did they get here in the first place if their parents were celibates?

#2. If they were to inspire us, you and I would not even be here in the first place - that is, again if our parents were celibates.

#3. Some have the gift of celibacy; and others do not (Matt. 19:12). But that does not make them more victorious than those who are Spirit-filled and Spirit-led in service to God.

Full of Fanatics?

Where?

How?

When?

Why?

Which?

Who?

And after all that, wetin we go do?? What in your own opinion constitutes the very opposite of fanaticism?? huh

Christianity EtcRe: I Had A Blood Convenant With My Girlfriend by TellyB(m): 9:20am On May 29, 2007
I am definitely going to say sontin on this one! grin

@Ibisobrown,

Ibisobrown:
but she is telling me that i will run mad if i go sleep with another girl
She is right, you know. Why? Because only a mad man will want to have a woman, and then still go out drawing maps on the skirts of other women! In which case, it will definitely happen according to the covenant you made with your own blood!

Ibisobrown:
please my good friends of nairaland i need help on how to breakup or still have her and have my fun outside
Answers have been given already, and I just need to add here:

(a) if you must have her and STILL have fun outside, then write your will today!

(b) if you may have fun outside without keeping her, then your malady is only
postponed!

(c) if you really want to be free from the two options above, come clean with a true heart in
repentance to God and He will break the covenant and set you free! (Hint: don't
try to play games with Him, or it won't work
)!

I do wish you will make a good choice for yourself. Don't joke with blood covenants - not even with another girl.
IslamRe: What Will Women's Reward Be In Jannah When Men Are Blessed With Heavenly Maidens by TellyB(m): 9:10am On May 29, 2007
So, this disappearing act of the Muslimahs. . . does that simply mean that:

(a) they don't have any reward in janna; or,

(b) they don't know what rewards await them; or,

(c) they would rather not say because. . . ?!?

lipsrsealed undecided huh
IslamRe: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by TellyB(m): 9:06am On May 29, 2007
@stimulus,

stimulus:
That still does not mean that everyone facing the east is actually facing the Kaa'ba. The only way that could happen is if the Kaa'ba was located in the sun itself!
I just love that summation; and I hope that our Muslim friends will now understand why "facing EAST" does not automatically mean the same as facing the Kaa'ba from every location on the globe.

Strangely enough, when one takes a look at the world map, some would suppose that those in Alaska would either have to face eastward or westward. But guess what? Muslims in Alaska have to face the NORTH to locate the Kaa'ba - because that is what the qiblah detector leads them to believe!

This is not too difficult to understand when one looks at the orientation of the geoid. The qiblah detector does not work like a compass, and so does not indicate geographic positions. Rather, it points just towards the location of the Kaa'ba in Mecca; and that is how Muslims in Alaska have to face northward in terms of their location to the Kaa'ba.

Meanwhile, I'm still looking out for answers to the significance of facing the Kaa'ba in Mecca; and as stimulus has observed, it is more than simply a matter of being commanded to face the east!
Christianity EtcRe: No Compulsion In Religion! by TellyB(m): 8:55am On May 29, 2007
Even among Muslims during Muhammad's time, it was common knowledge that Islam was a religion by compulsion. That was the default position, and not the politically correct stance that many today ascribe to the antics of 'Islamists' or 'fanatics among the ummah'.
Christianity EtcRe: How Do I Know If God Is Speaking To Me? by TellyB(m): 8:50am On May 29, 2007
@Horus,

I was actually in London at the weekend as I hinted. I'm back now for a while, but sad to say, you really have demonstrated you have a perennial self-defeating problem.

Now can you tell us a bit more of about your "black jesus" whom you have severally called "the true Son of God"?
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 11:23pm On May 25, 2007
@Horus,

Sarcasm? And you didn't see those in your several posts?

I don't own nor sleep in the library. If I could get there tomorrow, I'd scan a page for you as I don't have a personal copy. It's quite simply in HEBREW - and if you can't read anything in the language, then what's the point bothering to oblige you anything more?

I've asked questions - you've not given answers. If you don't want to proffer answers to my questions, I went one step further to offer you some answers to what I called your attention to about the faulty inference of the Arabs "inventing" the zero (0) digit.

In the same way, I offered you to go through the same process and check out the history of the HEBREW numbering system; you have NOT done so, and that is why you keep going round in circles.

Horus, thanks for demonstrating that your assumptions have no basis at all. From this point on, you can keep up with your games and wallow in whatever tickles you. I've only come off deeply impressed with one thing:

             You DON'T have a clue what you're talking about!!!

Regards.

@Horus,

Okay, Horus. I hear you. You're only further confirming what has been said about you.  smiley

Torah. . . Bible: what's the difference? If a line in Hebrew gets you so frantic, would you even do better if you saw anything else in the Torah/Jewish Bible?

Besides, thanks again for the racist Zionist slobber - it just doesn't accentuate your scholarship (if you had any at all).

See, don't waste your time if you've got nothing to offer in your noise. You can continue your games; at least, you've demonstrated that you know nothing at all.
Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Or Muhammed? Which Has Influenced More Positively Our Way Of Life Today? by TellyB(m): 11:00pm On May 25, 2007
Amen.

May I add: it is not a dangerous topic. People always think first of the "dangers" before they read a topic. This should not be the first thing on our minds when reading issues.

I would also say: the love of Jesus Christ, the honour accorded Him in many other religions, the coherence of His words, life and ministry - these have deeply impacted my spiritual life in a way that I haven't read of in anyone else. smiley
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 10:53pm On May 25, 2007
Horus,

DO YOU KNOW HEBREW AT ALL?? The interpret that statement I typed in simple Hebrew.

When I get to the library, I'll scan the page of the Torah you're requesting.

You have accused others of being IGNORANT. Great. If you CANNOT do the simple request here and all you do is make this beggarly noise, you will only confirm your own ignorance all the more.
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 10:47pm On May 25, 2007
@Horus,

I've noticed that when people like you have come to your titters end, you begin to sound so desperate. It's the usual games your lot play, and I'm quite aquainted with that.

Keep screaming.  If you don't know Hebrew, you only will continue to pass off the ignorance you've been spoon fed. Interpret this, please, and convince your readers that you know a bit of Hebrew:

יג וַיֹּאמֶר חַגַּי מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה, בְּמַלְאֲכוּת יְהוָה--לָעָם לֵאמֹר: אֲנִי אִתְּכֶם, נְאֻם-יְהוָה.

If you yet CANNOT, simply preserve your integrity so we don't take you for what you're not supposed to be.

Thanks again.

Horus:
And where are the numberhuh?You must think we Africans are stupids
Just simply work on interpreting that single line. About "we Africans" being stupid, I don't know how you're porving that in your desperations just now.

Horus, do you know Hebrew?? Please simply interpret that one line and convince me. Thank you.  smiley
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by TellyB(m): 10:33pm On May 25, 2007
@Horus,

Horus:
We still waitinghuhScan some page of this original Hebrew Bible and show us those number on it.
You know that it is best to just do a scanning of pages because everybody will see the fact.You can do it,so show us
I know that, and I could as well easily do that. Here is a sample quote in Hebrew language which I would like you to interpret:

יג וַיֹּאמֶר חַגַּי מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה, בְּמַלְאֲכוּת יְהוָה--לָעָם לֵאמֹר: אֲנִי אִתְּכֶם, נְאֻם-יְהוָה.

Just simply work on that for now. If you really are not celebrating your ignorance here, then do me the favour of an answer to the history of the Hebrew numbering system. If you can't do so, then I could simply draw my inference and leave you to your worst fears.

Cheers. smiley

You really don't have to be there before you come to terms with what's happening there. I have never been to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or Afghanistan; but at least I know what's going on there in this regard. undecided

mukina2:
Haa i think i know who you are now lipsrsealed
Oh really? Keep guessing.

mukina2:
well most Islamic countries operate on sharia and most Arab nations tend to mix traditional .all male attitude .
Don't you think that also speaks volumes about how Muslims really don't hold to a single coherent interpretation of Islam? While it may be an "all male attitude", I would rather be inclined to see it as simply a case of deep cultural traits established in Islam's holy books.

mukina2:
most societies tend to take the * guys can take care * attitude angry and thats sad .
thats why women are restricted in some of these countries angry
I wholeheartedly agree with you; and I'd have to be forthright and honest with you as well that it happens even in Christianity and other religions.

However, I'm yet curious to know what exactly is the fundamental teaching of Islam on these issues. The various tafsir that I've perused have me a bit confused as they don't hold a single concensus on the matter, and any careless reader of the Qur'an and Hadith would simply have to take them at surface value. undecided

Well, that's good to know. Here in the UK, Muslim women actually drive - cars, buses, and bikes. Quite a different situation as obtains in northern Nigeria now, would you not agree??

However, I would really like to know what Islam teaches on this issue and many more; and why it is that most Muslim authorities would rather have the women far removed from such issues. smiley
