Leave the bulldog if you don't want to be buying parts every month

Leave the corolla if you don't want to have sleepless nights and watching your back every now and then

Leave the golf if you don't want people to rush to your car at every busstop thinking you be taxi grin

Now your choice should be the 2000-2005 honda civic. no katakata no wayo, peace of mind all the way

Car Talk / Re: Toyota Corolla "Leg Pull" by temmym4(m): 2:22pm On Mar 06, 2019
CocoaOla:
The Honda Accord is a fairly popular model in the UK, yet I have never seen ball joint or any critical front suspension component failure. I only became aware of front suspension failure through Nairaland, meaning it's a Nigerian issue, rather than a global Honda one because Nigeria don't buy brand new cars and check maintenance history
Negligence and ignorance
Incorrect torque applied to critical load-bearing bolts, during strip down and re-assembly by Nigerian mechanics.
Incorrect bolts used to secure critical load-bearing components, with the wrong tensile strength.
Reusing critical load-bearing bolts, where Honda's Repair Manual states they must be replaced, once torqued to spec.
Applying heat to aid the removal of seized load-bearing bolts, causing the bolts and the surrounding steel to fatigue. Any car brand wheels will have k leg under these conditions

All this Grammer doesn't stop another Accord from having a leg pull today on my way home.

The picture attached is an Accord pulling off in another country. Not just Nigeria.

The fact remains that it's a known factory error, and not just about been careless. You just have to be extra vigilant and pay closer attention to signs if you don't want the ball joint pull off embarassment. Period!

For private vehicles

Few years back, it was Toyota Camry 1997 - 2001
It was so damn much that i busted into laughter the day i was passing by a car park and they were all the same camry with different colours. i call it "Uniform" grin

Now it is Toyota Corolla. esp 2003
Next time you are taking a walk, try to take note/count yourself, within 60 seconds and see how many of that car passed compared to other cars.
no wonder it's the Thieves favourite.

For Commercial vehicles

Nissan..Nissan... Nissan... Nissan... Nissan...Golf... Nissan... Golf.. Nissan.. Mazda.. Mazda.... Nissan... Nissan... Nissan...

any model of those car models from 90s grin

If the mother truly went to serve God, this would never have happened.

My brother, You have got a lot to learn as a Christian. Your kinds are the types that blames God when something negative happens to them, asking the creator if they dont serve him enough, Blasphemy.

Let me give you some illustrations;

You are going to a prayer meeting with your sincere heart, just because u are late, u started driving roughly and you knocked a bike man down, does that actually happen because you are not serving God truly?

At a firm where you work, job starts by 8, you wake up by 7:30, u started revival just because you are holy, u didnt end until 8:05.. U got to work around 8:30 and u got fired. Does that happen just because you don't serve your God truly?

Someone who had a dry fast with pure heart for 20 days praying on the mountain, comes down, slumps and dies. He isn't serving God with a sincere heart?

There are so many unbelievers and Chronic adulterous humans who live their houses with their kids even without the watch of any housekeeper without a problem.

Christians, Muslims, traditional worshipers and all, we are all humans with a particular destiny.

A Leaf Does Not Fall Without The Will Of God. Don't judge the woman, you don't know her.
On a normal ground i ll say, why go to vigil alone when you have kids, why not take them along and show them the right path since a mother's faith won't save the offsprings during the final hour? But who am i to judge?

Being religious doesn't make you immune to the happenings of life. If u grab a live wire with high voltage, regardless of your religious status, you will die.

If u carry yourself to a Railway Station, u hear a train coming and u ignore it because u are praying on the rail lines, it will kill u! U will die!!

Be prayerful and "WATCHFUL" is what the Scripture says.

Our prayers should be for God to lead us in the right path of life so we everyone can have a reason to say, throughout the trials and tribulations of life. He kept me!

I think it's just the branding issue.

I've used Sentra, almera and primaera and those cars are bloody strong. Esp the 1997 - 2001.

To me, the major problem is the poor second hand value.

The models you mentioned are the strongest of them all.

Talk about Nissan newer models, it makes you wonder whether they sold their reliability inteligence or maybe they just couldnt upgrade their engineering system just like other brand makers

Pls ogas what's the procedure of using a car after been rebuilded and when do i have to do a oil change ?

Bro you can search google for How to properly break in a rebuilt engine.

if i can remember, some of the caution i took for the first 1000KM was

No extended idle time i.e I didn't put the car on idle/warming for a long time
I drove easily, no high speed, high acceleration or high power driving
I change the gears as much as possible so my rpm won't be constant
No High load, anything that will drop my engine power especially AC is put on hold
No long Journeys, no stress on the engine.

I think 1000KM is enough to change the oil. i did mine after driving about 900KM (3 to 4 weeks) or so.

Brotherman. Go ahead, get a good healthy small/economy car and you will never regret it.

No offence but some People's destiny and charisma doesn't use a vehicle, even if they buy one later, it will be a regret for them Yeah, it has been written.. so don't compare yourself with others. live your own life the way u want it and enjoy your money.

modified...

an old thread. From your post, let me guess.. they eventually brainwashed you and you became like them.

We actually need positive minded people to get to greater heights in life.

Everythin in life requires planning. you dont need to have millions before you own a car. the thing is don't go beyond your boundary.

Paying household bills can be expensive, but that doesn't mean u must be stuck in your parent's apartment for the rest of your lives

Getting married and settling down doesn't come cheap, that isn't an excuse to be single for life

Having Children no be beans. but that doesnt mean u shouldn't perform your responsibilities.

so does Looking Good, Having a vehicle, Building a house as well as being successful.

Get yourself influenced by people with positive mindset. it does help in one's journey of life.

Car Talk / Re: What Car Type Can A Family Man With An Income Of 110k Per Month Maintain? by temmym4(m): 4:21pm On Jan 14, 2019
Adebowale1616:

I've bought cars from OLX on different occasions, for myself and on behalf of others close to me

Please note this. OLX is simply a site for posting your sellable items which includes vehicles. It doesn't manufacture vehicle.

Humans who has cars for sale in physical are the same ones who post on OLX.
It is now in your hands to know what is real from what is not.

It is simple.

*Know what u want

*Do a market survey both Online and physically

*Never send a dime to a seller u haven't met for a car you don't even know its status or existence

*Stop looking for "Too Cheap" you will either end up with nothing or going home spending twice of what u should have spent buying a new one, worse still, u might not even enjoy it after all the spending and stress.

*Pictures doesn't determine the actual condition of a car. Go and inspect with your "eyes".

*Go with a competent mechanic that knows his onions if you are really insisting on a particular ride

*Relax, Study your seller and Never be in a rush. If they say someone else too is on it and might come to pay tomorrow if you dont pay fast, Lies! please tell them you are not in a rush.

*Even if everything seems right, make sure you have some extra cash in case minor fault arises few days/weeks after purchase. Remember it is Naija used, u never can tell how much abuse it has already gone through.

*I said this once and i will do so again.
Don't buy what u can't afford to maintain just because the cost price was affordable, don't get wounded by Awoof.

*The vehicle papers before and after purchase is essential.

*Pray hard so u wont put your money on village people's favorite midnight cab. If you know you know grin

In this day and age, car isn't a luxury anymore but a necessity so I understand your plight op especially as you would have places to go to where coming down from danfo or keke won't just make sense BUT I'll advise or plead with you, if you can bump up that money with you a bit then you'll be able to buy what can serve you well. At least a baby boy. It's not as if you won't see anything for that price but the balance which you would have raised to buy something that'll give you peace of mind is most likely what you'll spend at the mechanic trying to put your car in shape. As it stands now, it'll take almost a miracle to pick up something reliable at that price so please be careful

My brother. you have said it all. just exactly as i would have put it.

@OP.. read this, digest, relax and adhere. it will really do you some good.

I THINK transfer of ownership is just a transferrable piece of paper. The details remain the same In the MVAA system database. I SUSPECT it takes a lot of "man-know-man" to make any alterations to that database, and of course some money. So why not just re-register?

I don't think so sir.
i bought a used car last year and the number plate carried the previous owner's name (This i confirmed during change of ownership at their office since vehicle license and certificate is done online by them with their database)

after a year, time for renewal, i took a closer look at the chassis number/VIN and noticed a number was ommited. I called their attention to it before the renewal was done. he only asked me for the number plate.. all details were shown to me on the system, which carries my name now instead of the previous user.

my point is. Change/Certificate of ownership is very important and done legally in the right way as just inputting your plate number on their system will show exactly who it belongs to and the VIN of the car the Plate is attached to

The issue Sounds Familiar. once had these experiences with an EOD.

1. Funny sound it makes, if this happen when you are turning the steering around -Replace the power steering pump.

but if it only makes an annoying creaking sound when you u turned it fully, then that belt turning the power steering pump isn't its right size

all the belts has numbers or so, Kazeems are fond of just putting anyone that seems to fit, at the end of the day, your get an annoying creaking sound with full turn.

2. Let me guess, the car just loses power in motion as if u took your leg off the throttle, then if you park, let the car rest a little, it moves normally again and after some minutes, it starts doing the same thing.

i hope your injector has not been tampered with anyway, cos it's not the problem. u know we had this particular issue with the car and almost changed all the sensor and it just wont work.
not until a young Kazeem scanned, then i used google to search for the code and guess what? Throttle body sensor..
all i did was show him the picture and he unscrewed it.. wash/clean it with petrol and that solved it. forever.

imagine the unnecessary spending we had so far.

if u keep letting Kazeems do a guesswork on your ride, your unnecessary spendings will be a topnotch.

Try and scan your ride, then force the kazeem to giv u the code, help him search for it online with d picture. Kazeems no understand big Grammars, show him the image instead.

Help your Kazeem, so he could help your car and it will in turn help your pocket grin
