Doesn't make his opinion invalid. He doesn't even need to own a car to feel Camry is boring. Not like he was shaming the OP. You guys should stop this poverty shaming.

Who says his opinion is invalid?
The question is as simple as it sounds.

A brother says a car is boring... I don't think it's too much to ask him what car he drives just to understand his taste of automobile. Maybe if he was asked what kinda car he owns instead, the whole place would have been burnt down i guess

I don't think this needs to be dragged back and forth. It's a sraight forward question based on his response. Just drop your own opinion and walk away without gettin upset over another man's issue. Bless u brother

They can never understand, no matter how much you educate them.

Poverty is a state of mind rather than a state of physical or material being. You are poor only if you believe and and accept you are poor. A rich mind creates opportunities and wealth out of very few resources, while a poor mind creates nothing inspite of excess resources at his/her disposal. This is why Nigeria and Nigerians are poor.

Marriage should be a combination of rich minds to create more wealth and not an avenue for one partner to covet the riches of the other

The bolded makes a whole lot of sense bro. Kudos.

But u see that poverty bn a state of mind, and that you are poor only if you believe? Kai bro, i say Kai.. poverty is not a state of mind, poverty is not believing.. it is a reality that happens to even the very intelligent ones. It only takes the grace of God to attain success in whatever you do and it is goin to look as if you are the best in what you do.

So many people are much more intelligent than you in that your line of business or job but are not as successful as you. It's not as if u know better than them, neither is it by motivational quote of poverty bn a state of mind.

There is no benefit of marrying young when you are poor oga, except for the fact that you will only swim deeper in poverty, worsestill you will bring innocent children into suffering and they will eventually curse you later on.

Why should you even think of marriage when you cant even feed your own mouth for a day? Later now you will say women dey curse una.

This is one good reason why poverty keep spreading across the country. Plan your life first before thinking of bringing another man's daughter and innocent children to suffer

To all those youngsters aspiring to get married, i beg you, plan your life first, then make a good reliable source of income. If u let some motivational quote decieve you, my brother, you will suffer seriously o, hunger go wire you, your mouth will be as long as that of a Kiwi bird. Your wife will insult you and your children will see you as bn use.less later on. You might be forced to join crime and you know what happens when they are caught. This is reality my brothers and sisters.

OP. Oooin, you are not doing well.

Is the oil giving burnt smell?

When it happened, yes it gave a smell like heated engine oil. And when i checked this morning, ATF actually changed colour which was slightly darker than usual.

I decided to take the car to a mechanic today and it just wont move, Drive or Reverse. None was working, so i had to push it somewhere and i brought my mechanic later in the day.

He unscrewed the pan at the bottom, drained the ATF which already changed to a dark kind of colour, cleaned the pan and the whole area. New ATF was poured in. Car started and it's been selecting well since then.
I am still testing though.

My question now is, the fact that my transmission oil changed colour with a possibly burnt oil (Not sure) will there be a negative effect on the gear internally?

Thanks for your response so far Sir, Am very grateful.

After adding the oil, did the gear engage and moved/selected well before starting to slip off?

And what type of oil did you use?

Slipping off like that points to fried transmission Sha.

No. It only does the same way it has been doing before i poured it. (moves a little and then stops/slips off)

I added Holts ATF of 1L

Sorry about your challenge sir.

When did you add the 1 litre? Before it started slipping off or after?

Like when did you notice the leakage??

Thank you sir. I noticed the leakage about a week and some days, i have been checking my transmission dip stick/gauge from time to time, it looks perfectly fine

I added the ATF immediately i few minutes after the gear wont engage
Car Talk / Camry Transmission Issue. Vehicle Wont Move In Drive. by temmym4(m): 10:11pm On Mar 11, 2021
Good evening Nairalanders.
Please i have an issue with my camry 1998 gearbox. Firstly it started from not shifting from 1 to 2 in time except i take my leg off the throttle, then toight, i noticed d gear making some kind of sound as i was moving, (it sounds like a frog actually)

I slowed down, then i noticed the car wont move from that point, it sound like revving the car when put in Neutral.

Switched off the car and back on, the car engages and moves a little then slips off and start revving like it's in neutral position again.

I could percieve some hot oil smell when i parked.

I also noticed Transmission oil leaking from underneath which i bought a Litre and poured it in. But it just wont work. Vehicle moves a little and gear stops responding again.

Whats wrong? Is the Gear fried?
What can i do to savage this situation.
Please help.

I had similar issue with my 1998 camry, the odometer was blank, speedometer wasn't rising & my issue was transmission hardly shift from first gear to 2nd, d tachometer will nearly get to 5000rpm & sometimes i have to release my leg from throttle b4 it will manage to shift, subsequent gears shift pretty fine.

All i did was replacement of the instrument cluster completely & everything came back normal.

I am currently having this issue with mine.
Although all my instrument cluster including speedometer works very fine.

The problem i have is Late Gear shift from. 1 to 2 except i take my leg off the throttle briefly before it shifts. Other gears seems to work pretty fine. Could it be a sensor or my gear is dying?
Car Talk / Toyota Camry AC Issue. Please Help by temmym4(m): 10:12pm On Feb 11, 2021
I have a camry 1998 model. Recently there seems to be this dark stain around the compressor area and i noticed it stops cooling like before, took it for a check and i was told the compressor seal is leaking oil or something. It wasn't going to be a quick fix because he has some jobs at hand that moment and i couldnt wait. So i opted for gas added to the compressor to serve me till my next visit/schedule for repair

Next day, as usual, the AC was on, but i noticed somethin strange while putting it on, the serpentine belt made this unusual squeaky sound for about 1 second and d vehicle hesitated during movement, then things became normal.

After leaving where i parked again, put on the AC and this time around, it was as if it wanted to stall my engine and the AC button started blinking. I put it off afterwards and now when i try puttin it on, compressor kicks in for about 2 seconds then goes off and the AC button light starts blinking.

Could it be that i have damaged my compressor? Please Gurus, technicians and the experienced. I need your help and enlightenment please

Thanks in anticipation Sirs.

Mind your business and hustle for yourself too my brother, so you will look young and happy when you get to her age.

Bicycles remains the best mode of navigating lagos. Very economical, No air pollution and natural air bettee than car's air-conditioning.

Awesome. Why not ride a bicycle From Ojodu to to Lekki or Lakowe?! Start at exactly 1pm immediately after a scorching sun, then probably rain with Heavy breeze fall down from the sky around 3:30pm, still on your economical natural air journey.

Or better still, start by midnight since you are to resume work by 7.

Enjoy your ride.

He said he wants to Upgrade na. Will he remain stagnant with one car for the rest of his life?

OP. I dont know your budget, but from your selections, in order for you to continue enjoying the same Toyota reliability.. drop the Honda Pilot.

Also, If fuel consumption is your first priority, then you will be needing an I4 engine (V4 is wrong) and not V6. Toyota Highlander comes with V6 engines, so your only option here from your personal selection is the Camry 2007 - 2010 (Muscle). Do have it in mind that it comes with it's own known issues too just like your current Camry 2000 has it's own despite its reliability (absorbers, timing belt breakage and the likes) but note that every car has got it's own known issues, might be minor or major depending on your own chosen make/model.

Then, i would have recommended a corolla 2003 - 2006. Thats a good one for you if you dont mind the engine size and the compact body compared to your current car. You will surely miss the Engine and size though , but the reliablity is worth it. Even much more than your current ride.

Finally, whatever you will go for, make sure u check the Internet and ask users around you for its pros and cons.

Good luck.

The aim isn't to adorn my wage. I elaborated on it that I know the issues the ride has, and prepared to weather the storm with it.

I actually went for this as 1st buy, cos I won't be too scared and pamper it. It's already a rough ride, so no fear in roughing it some more, while I perfect my knowledge of car parts on any problem that would ofcourse surface, seeing it's a cheap buy in the 1st place.

I'm sure I won't he spending up to 500k on the rude b4 I dispose of it, and get my dream ride which has always been a Benz.

Awesome. Go for it bro.

Will you keep quiet.... In PEJ's voice.

Seriously let's stop saying what we do not know. I have used 4 Honda accords of different years, 3 out of them v6. Not one of them had a transmission problem.

You make it sound like it's a bad car simply because Gazzuzz says so. Haba.
My present car is a v6 discussion continues. I bought it Nigerian used with a bad gear and engine. I changed them both, This is 2years now, not a single hiccup from either transmission and engine. Veeeery quiet, smooth and fuel efficient ride.

I use original Honda dw1 and Mobil 1 5w30 for the gear and engine, respectively. It's been very reliable, I tell you. The ac chills better than the i4, and that's a fact any Honda user will tell you. Neither the previous owner or I have had any ac problems. Original compressor still on the car.

Op, enjoy your ride. You can pm me for any other questions

U aren't blin.d. I guess you read the part where i said it was someone close to me that had the car. 2012 - 2016

He got a DC 2018 till date.

You are entitled to your own opinion, put your own suggestion to the OP, not me. I don't use an Accord so it's not a concern of mine.

Once again, i am only talking about an experience from an accord fan who i work with.
Car Talk / Re: Should I Buy This EOD? by temmym4(m): 9:17pm On Aug 14, 2020

I don't plan on using the car for more than 3years, as I'll be out of the country by then. I know EOD is just beautiful, but not rugged like Toyota. But I'm ready to maintain it. I'm a salaried earner on close to 300k per month, and would likely enter that range once FG approves our COVID-19 hazard allowance.

I believe I can take care of it.

Bro, it doesn't matter even if you own a car for 1 day or 3 years. A car that will develop fault will start 1 day regardless.

Your salary isn't actually a thing of debate here, but the car you are buying.
Except if you have decided to sign a warrant of blowing your salary on a problematic car.
It won't matter how much you earn if you buy a car that created a big hole in your pocket.

I am not saying the car is a bad buy, neither am i saying it is perfect. I only made an instance from someone who has the same car and engine once.

Go for it so far you are convinced and a reliable mechanic can certify it bro. You ll be fine.

That vehicle in a V6 engine is a big NO. The transmission will always fail.

This is so true.

Someone close to me owned it for some years, he changed transmission 3 times in 4 years, each costing about 180k.

There is a constant issue with the V6 engine and the AC too. He fixed it severally, works for weeks then something goes wrong again. Mind you, it's not cheap fixing EOD AC

I decided to drive it down myself to my own AC repairer. He opened the hood and told me, why waste money on fixing a V6 EOD AC, it is prone to always failing and i ll be back to him soon, it starts with clutch getting burnt. He said he can fix it if i want him to but he is telling me the truth due to the fact that we are close.

He has a 2004 accord now (DC) I4 engine. He fixed the AC more than a year now, still cold.

Then i dont know what they did the the leg pull, a mechanic said he was going to weld some stuff and the leg will never pull. Funny thing is, it's been almost 3 years now, car has never pulled leg. Maybe if i ever own an Honda with leg pull syndrome, i llask him what the mechanic actually did. lol

BA/ BS
To the glory of God, I welcomed my Princess on Tues 4th Aug, 2020. EDD was 26th July.

My pregnancy journey was very smooth; no MS, spits, I was glowing and was indeed pampered by hubby. First, Second n even Third trimesters were good to me. I was very strong and glowed all through.
I started panicking After passing my Edd dates. The only thing on my mind was when baby would come out as she already weighed 3.45 at 38 weeks scan. I ate pineapples, dates, walked, did yoga exercises, avoided meals.. chai. The final weeks of my pregnancy wasn't funny atall.
July went by and I said, 'Well Baby wants to be an August baby.' On the 2nd of August after evening stroll with my kid sis, I started having contractions but thought it was Braxton Hicks. Not until I got home and went to ease myself then I saw 'show'. My happiness knew no bounds. I couldn't wait for hubby to be home so I could tell him. The dude really suffered those final times cos I was always unhappy that Baby hadn't come. He came and I shared him the news. We called his brother who is a Medical Doctor. He asked us to wait till the next day bfr going to the hospital.
We got to the hospital at 4pm the next day 3rd Aug. Doctor checked me and I was 6cm dilated. He was happy and said 'Madam, your baby would soon be here.' Before 10pm same night,I was already 8cm with contractions coming back to back. The nurses has done enamel on me so they assured me that whatever pooing feeling I was having was my baby but I shouldn't push yet as I needed to be in at least 9cm.
This was where devil decided to struck. The labour couldn't progress. I was in 8cm from 10pm on the 3rd till 4th. I was almost going mad from untoractions. Doctor said because I was having hard contractions, he didn't want to induce so as not to over stress baby. At some point, he had no option but to put the hot drip. Chai, if u r here and having any issues with ur mother, pls make amends. What women go through to bring babies to life is not a little experience.
Despite the drip, I still wasnt dilating and doctor had to remove it cos of baby. He was coming to check baby's heart beat from time to time. He reminded my hubby of the Pelvimentry xray we didn't do and said probably its the cause.
By noon of 4th, I was already weak and still hadnt gone beyond 8cm! Hubby was crying n praying, same with my mom. I called hubby and told him that I couldnt go through the pains anymore that doctor should come operate on me bfr either I or the baby passes on. With tears in his eyes, he went to the doctor's office, signed the paper and I was taken to the theatre. I learnt Baby was. brought out 15mins later. She had already pooped and the doctor said if we hadnt taken that decision the exact time we did, we might have lost her. Hubby was called to bring me out. We were discharged 6days later.
My Princess is a beauty to behold. I can't stop thanking God for such a wonderful gift. At the end of the day, Mummy is alive, Baby is alive and Daddy is alive. I return all glory unto God Almighty.

Madam OP. Your husband's Fetish sexual desire. Your husband enjoys having sexual intercourse with you while you are asleep. He enjoys doing it alone while imagining you r not aware. (Must have probably been due to so much fetish sexual content addiction)

There is a positive manner of approach to everything.
He likes u sleeping while he has sex with you, you prefer it done when both of you are awake, then try this. The next time he does that, wake up slowly without negative attitude so he wont go off the mood. then go with the flow and pull him close to yourself and seal it with pre-intimacy and have fun. You just achieved both your sexual desires while shifting grounds a little for each other.

To enjoy your marriage. U both have to shift grounds and come into a favourable agreement together, no completely perfect partner anywhere o. You will always find a little flaw, but if you can find a solution and work things out, you will find out your home will be a perfection.

if u run your marriage based on other people's interest and let them convince you negatively about your husband, na OYO you dey o.

If you dont do it for him, it's just a matter of time before he gets it elsewhere. Wahala don begin be that.

Never compare other people's sexual desire with yours or your husband's.
U see those who gave you advices negatively? They v got their own fetish kinda love in bed, they just wont admit.
