Make an "Affidavit for Correction of Name on Driver's License" duly signed and sealed at the Court of law stating the name that was erroneously inputted and the right one as well.

You can either take that to FRSC office to correct the error or use the affidavit as a temporary correction along with your license when the need arises.

I previously own the pencil/tiny light and one of the issue i encountered was the weak lighting which is a design flaw for that vehicle, if u checkout the bulb housing, you will find out it uses 2 pairs of H4 bulbs (one for each side) this single H4 bulb does the work of high and low beams which in my own opinion is a weak lighting design.

2001 camry a.k.a Droplight on the other hand just like most modern cars has 4 different housing/socket for bulbs (2 at each sides) seperately for high and low beam which also work all together when you have your high beam on. That's twice the light of the other camry (pencil)

Now imagine having an extra 2 Led bulbs added to the one u currently have totalling 4. Brighter light isn't it.

The headlamp upgrade on 2001 camry (drop light) compared to the older 1997-199 camry (pencil) isn't just a child's play.

Mind you, cleaning your headlamp wont really solve it, it will only get a little better but you ll still have to slow down or even park when cars with stronger lightning system are coming towards you. Some drivers due to either ignorance or wicked.ness will refuse to dim their lights for you even when you send them a signal u are finding it difficult to see beyond (some amat.eur drivers don't get the message anyway)

The only solution is attaching extra lamps/ fog lights in front of your bumper, personally i feel it makes cars quite ugly but you have to learn to live with it if u want better lights.

Some people go as far as upgrading the front bumper and headlamps to that of the 2001 Camry to get better lighting on pencil light

Pulled off twice.
First during a journey, no click whatsoever before leaving, parked to get stuff at the expressway after driving about 3hrs, turned the steering.. light clicks... trafficated to the main road and BINGO! Leg pulled!!

Second one was the most embarassing ever, backed out of the parking lot and it dropped right there...

Your defence wont stop a couple of Accords and CRVs from pulling off today and beyond like someone stepped on banana peel.

By the way, i have witnessed a CRV leg pull outside the country once so Face the fact that it is a design flaw and it will fall off if you are not careful enough. It's what almost every old Accord user knows so calm yourself and let those who's got a solution help those who wants to enjoy the affected models bro.

Every car parts bolted together can fail. This applies to any car make and model, no exceptions.

But it is a clear fact that the suspensions of some particular model and years of Honda especially the Accords and CRVs are prone to easy fail compared to other makes and models of vehicle

Except of course if we want to start deceiving ourselves and play the game of Ignorance.

it's better you go for driving lessons and I believe you'll definitely become sharp within a week. The Civic is a good choice, just make sure it wasn't abused by the previous owner. It's better you spend a few bucks so a mechanic can look it over before you purchase. Enjoy

Look let's do a little thinking. It is wrong to drive with your 1leg in Automatic. It is so wrong and not safe and this is why.

When you are driving a car first of all what your eyes see educates you of what type of car you are driving because there is going to be a similation between the body and the car.

Now how is a manual made to tell u there are 3peddles, the one to your right is the acceralator control. To the middle from the right is the brake which is next to your psychological control which is the similation. Remember the right leg takes control and does not move until the machine must come to a slow or a stop.

Now your left leg does 2 jobs and it takes care of the brake and the clutch giving you a sense of division yet positioned in your negative side of brain which at this time is expected to do positive to the car in terms of how the machine should be running on the road. Your brains re opened to the road and the car.
And your eyes are picking visuals at a certain speed. In the MANUAL of course it only makes sense to station the right leg and use the left to control the speed but what you have forgotten is none of the legs crosses each other, so why use the same right leg stationed to the acceralator in the manual for moving the car and cross and be looking for the brake peddle when the left is to your left sense.

That's why there are more automatic accidents on our roads. You see a car with 2 peddles the right is to the accelerator and the left to the brake peddle and you decide this time to cross the right you have stationed on the right to keep the car in motion to now go and be doing another task. It is brain confusion.

I tell you, in case of anything the eye might miss in the visuals you are likely to think the right has gone to hit the brake when u are actually accelerating,trust me.

Firstly, this is a very old thread. Secondly, i dont want to say your post makes absolutely no sense bro, but please go through all you typed again. Please forgive me. Dont confuse others.

This is one good reason why some people insist you learn how to drive with manual tranny first so u could know and understand the basics as well as the professionalism in driving.

For every car you drive, be it Auto or manual tranny, there is only one thing in common...You are either MOVING or STOPPING.

The right leg goes to the throttle pedal (Moving) then returns to the brake pedal for stopping.

You only lift your left leg from the leg-rest unto the clutch pedal if u are driving a manual tranny.

No professional driver or tutor will ever teach u to put your left leg on brake pedal. None!

There is a reason why a LEG REST is built down there for the left leg while there is none for your right leg. Your right leg doesn't rest/stay idle, it's either throttling (moving) or braking (stopping).

Learn how to drive professionally first, they wont listen, now they are using left leg to match the brake pedal. Nightmare!

Imagine someone who matches the brake with the left foot coming to give professional advices on Nairaland Car session.

Take for instance, a man who earns 40k monthly and luckily gets an opportunity of 3Million Naira from a share of his family land dat was sold, then he decides to buy a Mercedes Benz of the same amount.. ask him how he intends to maintain it from his monthly income, then he tells you... God that provided the money to buy it will provide the money to maintain it. My brother, blessed is the man that uses his initiative and discretion wisely. God didnt send u an errand to get what u know you wont be able to handle while living on faith, na hand wey dey work dey chop. If u do anyhow, u go see anyhow...

With this kind of mentality ehn, vehicle will sleep for so many days, weeks and even months in the mechanic workshop even with simple fixes. Man will use his feeding money and even borrow to maintain the car, debt and poverty will start setting in then man go blame God for not bn good to him, at the end, car will be sold for peanut when heart attack is knocking on the door.

a mechanic told me this, it's the guy that fixes my car and he's good but I don't want anything that will involve me opening they engine of my car by naija tech that I haven't seen or verified to do that and the engine still functions like it wasn't touched.

Bro. If your valve seals are loosing oil, no one will tell you before you know your car really smokes in the morning. You will get a blue smoke from your exhaust and then it goes away till you park for a long time and it will reoccur again even in hot sun.

Your car steams on cool mornings and that is generally caused by condensation. It is Normal! Your engine isn't smoking.

Please I need an experienced information on this issue. My pencil light just developed a fault that is very complex. I noticed that when the car is driven for a long time or if it's parked where it's exposed to direct sun light, the mileage numbers will go off and the gears won't select any more.
I will need to off the car and keep for a long time before it can normalize.

What's the issue and please the possible solution?

If OP or anyome is still having this issue, i came accross this particular issue few months ago while while tryiing to change a fuse from the fusebox under the hood.

One of my headlight fuse got blown and i was trying to replace it in the fusebox, then i notice my damn rewireb bypassed a particular wire on one of my relays which popped out from wherever it was placed when i opened d fuse box. (Which kind wahala be this na) i tried to insert it in a place i thought it might pop out from but boom, i got a particular relay blown out. Double wahala.

My speedometer stopped working, odometer wont show up, the gear wouldnt select until i depress the small emergency button beside the gear stick ( I don't know what it is called), the gear selection wont even appear on the dashboard. Na so i drive am go meet rewire... He only replaced a particular relay and everything started working.

It was the gear Valve body. It wasn't supplying ATF as it should.

The first mistake i made, never leave your gear slipping for long, you will end up changing worn parts more than you bargained for.

Gear repair is cheaper and perfect only if you have a competent Gear mechanic, but if u have an incompetent one, i suggest you change the whole gear because you might end up spending much more than the amount of a new gearbox.

Last year, I had an accident with my Toyota matrix, my cousin gets to know about it and promised to gift me Nissan Altima 09, initially, based on evil things have read about Nissan I objected to it and requested for Toyota. He assured me that Nissan is more luxurious, balanced and drives well than Toyota, reluctantly I asked him to send it.

Just a week ago, I received the car, the only thing I did was changing the engine oil... The tyres are new, no check engine light, the engine is so quite. Honestly, I've been driving the car ever since, I love everything about it. Very smooth, balanced and the AC is topnotch.... I still own Sienna 2008 but the nissan drives better than the sienna. My sienna vibrates when the speedometer gets to 140kph but this car still balance at speed of 160kph.

All cars engine can be rebuilt as long as you can get the spare part to do so. Steel engine easier than Aluminium. There is no rugged engine, maintenance is key.

Yeah it's possible. A friend got 94 camry Automatic for 270k early last year from a woman. Though it needs body work and painting as at that time.

He still uses the car till date. Car travels everywhere with him since he is a painter so i dont need to tell you how good the engine and gear will be. I still met him yesterday at the Mechanic's. He came to change his shock absorbers

There is also someone i knew that sold his Primera Automatic at 430k too in good condition to upgrade to a corolla.

Just search well and patiently, if u get the vehicle directly from the owner, then there is a possibility the price will be reasonable compared to getting through a third-party. I hope u get lucky, because Automatic vehicles at that price could be very risky to be sincere, except of course u r lucky

But no matter what, make sure u put money aside for some minor fix no matter how much u buy a car or the type of car it might be.

Goodmorning guys,pls I worked on my '99 camry gearbox. Thereafter I used it only 4days and the issue of not engaging on reverse started but others engage and select well. If u put d gear on 'R' it'll be as if its on neutral but it'll show on d dashboard dat its on R. Wat could be d problem?
