Jobs/Vacancies / Re: What Is The Most Ridiculous Job Offer You Have Ever Received? by TemmyWon(f): 11:18pm On Jul 15, 2019
Ytea:
It was during NYSC, while on camp I met with the ZGI through a gender equality awareness group I joined, she told me there's this NGO that needs a female Corper, that's how I entered it. The NGO building was an abandoned flat in a market place... I was like OK, let's see what happens. The owner goes, "em I don't have anyone working with me, so you'll be the one to open and close everyday, you clean the whole place, I'll get you acquainted with some of the paper works we do here, so you'll take over. I mustn't forget to mention that some churches will want us to come speak with them on Sundays, so be ready to work on Sundays too. you'll be paid 5,000 naira, shebi NYSC is going to pay you 19,800". I was shocked, I told her to reject me o.

People like her are the reasons I dislike NGOs. Using Peter to rob Paul and getting rich at both's expense

Health / Re: Cryptic Pregnancy: Doctor Abah Ehi Peter Shares Worrisome Tale Of Pregnancy Scam by TemmyWon(f): 12:24pm On Jul 12, 2019
Adakintroy2:
For me the "psych" behind this has nothing to do with desperation to get pregnant as the doctor has observe. Rather it's more or less desperation to keep shape and body intact not loosing figure to pregnancy.

if it's like that, they will prefer to use that money for postpartum surgery rather than use it to fertilize

missioner:

please pardon my manners. Are you an authority on dental issues?
I want to ask if it's possible for someone to deliberatly go for extraction and then request for denture in the case of misalignment?
perhaps because of the cost of braces and the long period it takes.
Really you should see a dentist. There are many bad practitioners so try to work by recommendation. I couldn't even get diagnosis until my third dentist because it was a rare condition

15k was just for consultation, where will you do 2 teeth for 15k? A surgical procedure where the jaw is broken to reach in? grin grin grin

Maybe you did it in 1980.

I did it in ilorin, Kwara State, 1 single one in 2013 for 45k, 2 in 2017 for 97k (after the Dollar crisis and rise in cost of materials)

One would be very stupid to go to a cheap establishment when your facial nerve is in danger of being damaged.

It would be far more expensive in places like Lagos and Abuja.

Stick to what you know and stop saying nonsense. Dentistry is very expensive
Maybe you should actually try to get more value for less hard earned money. I'm talking dentures not implants, if you did dentures at 97k go back there, sue them for fraud and get your money back. See me for more details

"It was gathered that the lady’s brother saw the sakawa boy in town and immediately stopped him to ask about his sister, but the boy on sighting him quickly came out of his car and ran away"

Yoruba and H" factor which is "an houseboy" instead of A HOUSEBOY abeg shift

Actually, dropping the 'AITCHES' is not peculiar to YORUBA speakers as wrongly capitalised upon by many, it is in fact a kind of BRITISH accent. Even in old testament English many words starting with 'h' took article 'an'. I drop my aitches and that's not bad usage
