In my view, the scheme should be abolished as it has outlived its usefulness. Originally, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was established to promote national unity. After more than 40 years, can we truly say it has achieved its goals?

The only remaining appeal for some graduates seems to be the little stipends provided to corps members. If this financial incentive is so significant to them, the government should consider distributing these funds directly to new graduates without requiring them to participate in the NYSC.

Alternatively, the scheme should be made voluntary.

Away from the financial implication, it is even not a flex to buy black market because you are at risk of buying bad fuel that can damage your engine. Black market people usually adultrate the fuel they sell.

Even the fuel stations sell bad fuel. There was a time that almost all the fuel stations in Rivers State were selling kpo fire fuel. Apart from NNPC and major marketers, the rest can still do what you accuse the black market people of.

You're funny. To me it's just a matter of stress, and comfort/convenience. Going to the fuel station is stress, meanwhile the black market seller brings the fuel to my house most times without me needing to go out. That's more convenient for me. We just see, and live life differently.

The difference between black market and filling station price is like day and night. You will buy 568 at NNPC , 630 or thereabouts at MRS and black market like 1,000 to 1,200 per liter.

If u want to buy like 50 liters, you will buy for N28,400 at NNPC, N31,500 at MRS and N60,000 at black market.

Nobody will teach you patience , u will just have it ; especially if it is weekend when u are not going to work.

600.. 1200 the difference isn't much na. Well, you have no problem with staying so it's fine.

Recently I was at a filling station on queue to buy fuel after spending close to 3 hours on the slow-moving queue. I was just like 3 to 4 vehicles from entering the filling station when one lady who was on an illegal parallel queue just attempted to join the queue in the front.

That was how one finished man allowed her to enter when the queue moved. Everyone behind this ediiot were furious , but the man was saying we should chill that she's just a lady na. Omo, I've never felt that much anger before.

The crazy thing was that just while I was about driving in, the manager of the filling station asked them to lock the gate and not allow any car drive in again. They want to sell for only those within the premises and stop selling. I had to struggle to drive in before they locked the gate o. The cars behind me weren't lucky simply because the yeye man allowed someone not on queue initially join the queue; and others not on queue seized the opportunity as well.

No queues here, but despite that I can't remember the last time I bought fuel from fuel stations. I see it as a waste of time.

Feeding, clothing(especially for children who are still growing), car maintenance will take another 200k+

Family members, church activities, donations, can easily eat another 20-50k monthly.

There goes your 600k salary. If care is not taken, all you do is live from hand to mouth on 600k.

Now 1m monthly can't even sustain you properly. With tinubonomics, one needs like 2-3m monthly to be comfortable.
