Your backward policies are impoverishing people, making them not have value for the one they manage to earn with their sweat but imposing more levies on them after showing failure upon failure is what they've now conjured in their midnight witchcraft meeting, Shebi when there's no money to deduct from will they start arresting people with DSS? From banning crypto transactions on fintechs to this? Taking one of the sources of income from the youths and still asking them to submit owo mi da. Me I don't have strength to curse anybody this morning cause I wouldn't normally but you see this government they'll soon eat what they cannot swallow if they think they can continue using tortoise sense for the struggling populace they mostly improverished. Nothing will happen. Even if fg starts taxing people 50% of what they earn, at most people will rant online for few days and everybody will adjust. But the cybersecurity levy won’t be much though. If you make a transaction of 5m and they deduct let’s say 20k it’s not bad na. I know we all hate Tinubu, but without taxes how will they make Nigeria look like the obodo oyibo some people crave so much? If they’ll actually put the money into good use it’s nice, the only problem is that the money might be looted. |

I don’t know what Musk is on about with his constant fight with different governments and organizations, I wonder if he values freedom of speech over money. Wike was and is still quite influential and the last PDP convention is pointer to that. There's some people that might not have finesse, but they're able to wield influence... Wike strikes me as one of such person's. The g5 isn't as influential as you're making them seem. I stand by my point that Atiku lost to Tinubu simply because Obi contested. Assuming Peter Obi didn't contest, irrespective of whether Wike and his G whatever group rebelled, Atiku would've won the 2023 presidential election. |

at least the westerners were born there. you chose to flee to western hegemony to better your life. you knew of all the evils of western hegemony and yet you still ran to the west. there were so many other places in th world you could flee to , but you chose to run to a place of comfort and opportunity - all the evil they have wrought be damned
put your money where your mouth is - and live in a non hegemony allied nation. if you cant do that you are simply a pontificating loquacious hypocrite who wants to eat his cake and have it. iran is there. russia is there. china is there. go an live in one of the brics nations that is not 'responsible for the destruction of the world'

It's funny how most of his posts are about how the West is bad..inhumane, and so on yet he stays in a western country. pansophist: China saved the global south. Now we have options. From loans to escape World Bank/IMF sharks, to development in terms of infrastructures, to educating our youths, a heavyweight in diplomacy (just look at their support for Palestine), non-interference (so no woke ideologies as a condition for their help), and so much more.
With a hundred euros, I can buy a good techno phone for my grandma to keep in touch with her, if not for China, communicating with loved ones would be so difficult. How many of us can buy Samsung phones? China gave the global south a voice, and the only civilization capable of burying western hegemony, and they are on it.
Most of what we use is imported from China, and they are still cheap even after all the importation fees, customs bribes, and profit for importers. In only a matter of time, before China enters into weapon production that will render Western junk useless.
That is western biggest fear. It gives them sleepless nights. Just imagine China turning to the US military-industrial complex useless due to a lack of customers. When you cannot compete fairly, throttling becomes your only option.
But you can only throttle an opponent that doesn't understand the nature of the enemy, this is why ignorance is dangerous. When you know your enemy and yourself, you can always predict accurately the result of every battle.
God bless China, it's a country I deeply respect with all sincerity. After saying all this, you still live in a western country. If you say only 20% of the things you say against the western countries you live in while in China, you would've been arrested and disappeared into thin air. |

LordAdam16: The immediate effect of a shooting war is high oil price. This is a positive for the Naira.
But if the War wears on, pressure on the markets, investors piling into safe haven assets, and economic uncertainty would make the naira depreciate. At this point, we're talking about a major conflict between Iran and Israel; as well as interventions from their respective allies. At the moment, this is very unlikely.
In the near term, the value of the naira will be primarily decided by the CBN. They haven't had this much control since 2018. I think this flare up will be contained, so the CBN should retain its ability to peg rates. But there is a lunatic in Tel Aviv who may have other ideas.
