Jubril is a messenger of Allah and Islamically he's the head of the angels the messenger that bring messages to prophets! They are created from light to fulfil whatever duty Allah assign them.

I almost recited the shahada in my days at the University, so I understand a little of Islam to know that next to Allah, the most revered person you have is Mohammed.
