And so it should then fall on another person's daughter to make sure you obtain that which is missing, all this at the cost of her own mental and emotional health, by the way.

The long and short of this is that OP is already a married single woman — honorary Mrs badge wearer with absolutely nothing to show for the fact that she claims to be married.

So, basically, the advice from the religious counselor is that OP now enter endurance-for-life mode in marriage and live herself as millions of our mothers and grandmothers lived—10s of 1000s of them filling up church buildings after church building all through out that country called Nigeria—, tragic lives with nothing of meaning to show for all of their struggle and suffering in the name of marriage. I am married to someone I don’t think is my friend. We dated before marriage, but during that time, I had a very senior friend whom I always went to for advice, help with decisions, and assistance with things that required initiative or “manly” effort.

The "truth of Christ" that you're talking about started existing around that time as well and it might yet fade in the future if another one pops up and it's more acceptable or forcefully enacted.

Make no mistake....no one gives a damn about what you believe or not....you have the right as a human to believe anything you want to....but to make it a "FACT" will require evidence which you don't have just like the other religions you're condemning....so there is little or no difference between you and them....every difference you think exists between you and them only exists in ur head and reality which is the manifestation of undeniable and unavoidable truth will always keep you and ur likes in checkmate.....as simple as that. .

The verse you posted is in English and everything I explained to you can be confirmed to some extent by anyone who understands English....so if you need re-schooling or schooling as a whole....you know where to look and I am not sure it's here on Nairaland.

These are different words and are applicable in different scenarios.....To say someone believed something doesn't mean the person doesn't believe that thing presently unless there is an indicator that the person doesn't.

For Instance...."He believed that the earth was flat" means he agreed with it and he is most likely still with that belief.

To say he is no longer with that belief you'll need some more words to your statement like..."He believed the man was innocent until he saw the evidence".

Believed is a past tense for believe but using it doesn't necessarily mean the person you're talking about in question with the beliefs have dropped them......you'll have to indicate that they no longer hold such beliefs.....to believe something is a state of mind...when you picked the belief matters less because it stays with you....it's when you dropped it that matters and it should be indicated.

For instance someone can say "For he believed that Christianity is the way" ......this very tense doesn't indicate whether you've left Christianity behind or not....infact it tends towards you still being a Christian.....until you add something like "but not anymore" or "until he converted.

So I can see nothing much wrong with that verse. .

Since the word "Were" was attached to them in the verse....it means that they are Muslims in the present according to the verse if not....the word "Are" is what should be attached to them.

The other Abrahamic religion u believe in is also problematic.....I've seen tons of verses that can be twisted to serve Negative purposes and also some contradictory ones as well.

To make things clear....1salm just like Christianity believes that what they preach is the only way to eternal life....anything else isn't it to both of them.

When Will We Truly Learn Tolerance?

Yesterday, a disturbing video went viral showing a female student in Ilorin (a Federal Government school, for that matter) being barred from entering her school simply because she wore a hijab.

Honestly, one cannot help but ask: When will we learn to tolerate one another in this country?

Has the Nigerian Constitution suddenly changed to deny people the freedom to profess and practice their faith openly? What happened to the Supreme Court judgment that explicitly affirmed the right of Muslim girls to wear hijab in schools if they so wish?

Even more ironic this happened in Ilorin, a city with a rich Islamic heritage and majority Muslim population. If such acts of intolerance can happen there, what should we expect elsewhere?

But then again, what exactly is the problem?
If my daughter wears a hijab, or my wife chooses to wear a niqab, have I forced it upon anyone’s daughter? Why then should it become a national issue?

The truth is, until we begin to genuinely respect each other’s faith and freedom, peace and unity will remain elusive in this country. Nigeria’s Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and that freedom must mean the right to live our beliefs, not just declare them.

Even in some Western countries, with a much smaller Muslim population, women are allowed to wear hijab or niqab freely in schools and public spaces. So, what exactly is our excuse here in Nigeria, a country that proudly claims to uphold religious liberty?

Let’s be honest, this isn’t about dress code. It’s about tolerance, respect, and justice.
And until we uphold these, we’ll keep failing as a truly united people.

I still keep wondering if ASUU is the only organized union in this country.
They have truncated innocent students faith with so many incessant strike.
No other union has caused havoc and damage to the educational sector than them.
Private universities are doing well by managing their resources accordingly,tho at a very exorbitant rate.
But even overseas, education doesn't come cheap.
The current governor must find a lasting solution to this reoccurring issues that have been outstanding for ages.

They don't believe that any other religious practice can lead to paradise except 1slam.... you can ask any Muslim to confirm....just like Christians don't believe that good deeds is enough to take one to paradise moslems also don't.

As for the verse you put up there....similar can be gotten from the Bible as well.....Revelation 20:12-13: "And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. ... And they were judged, each one according to his works".

The verse above is talking about Judgement based on deeds.....also this one....Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus describes a future judgment, stating, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat... whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me". .
