i am not a tribalist like you, who spends his whole day obsessing about tribal supremacy. Just pointing out that Lagos has an effective system in place to curb the nonsense kidnapping. We dont even need the police, our local OPC is capable. They need to upgrade these men and pay them well. They sacrifice so much for the relative peace we enjoy in the SW.
CrimeOpc Saves Twins From Kidnap In Lagos by TewMuch(op): 11:22pm On Oct 12, 2010
POLICE in Lagos yesterday paraded suspected kidnappers of two-year old twins at their school in Orile area of the metropolis last week.

The rescued twins could not narrate their experience in the hands of their kidnappers to journalists who gathered at the headquarters of the Lagos State Police Command headquarters. They could only stare at anyone who put a question to them because they are really ‘minors’. The children, Rita and Ruth, are in Play Group 1 (PG1) at the St Michael’s Nursery and Primary School in Orile.

The Guardian learnt that it took the intervention of some public-spirited Lagos residents who swung into action immediately they received report of the kidnap to intercept the kidnappers at a Bus Stop where they were waiting for the next available bus.

The suspected kidnappers who made a no-hold-barred confession of their involvement in the crime were paraded at the police command headquarters.

The Lagos State Deputy Police Spokesman, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, told journalists that the two suspected kidnappers, Izuchukwu Eze (20) and Daniel Ogbonna (21), were arrested while trying to kidnap the twins at about 7.30 am from their school.

In his confession, Izuchukwu said: “We planned kidnapping them to take them to Iyana-Oba in Okokomaiko area. We even bought some clothes so that we can be changing their wears pending when their parents pay their ransom. We have already bought a GSM Sim card. We got to their School at about 7.30am. We monitored everything, we are aware of the time they usually start School Assembly, so we kept tab on them.

“Ogbonna came with some biscuits, so he gave some to them. Our plan was that whoever picks the first child should go to the Bus-Stop and wait for the other. Ogbonna picked the first child and he went as planned .I picked the second child and went to meet him, but I could not find him there.
While I was at the Bus-Stop, Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) people came and were asking me questions, I suspected that the school authorities must have raised alarm, so I told them the truth, and they started beating me. I told them that my second was with the other child. Our intention was not to harm them, but to demand for N1million. We wanted to use the money to start up a business. We just needed money to set-up ourselves.”

The second suspect, Ogbonna said he was introduced into the illicit kidnapping business by his friend, Izuchukwu, whom he claimed convinced him to join him to execute the plan.

He said: “I knew Izu from the Church. We attend the same Church. When he brought the suggestion on kidnapping business to me, I refused, but after much pressure from him, I yielded.
But I suggested immediately that we must not put the children in our house if we kidnap any of them. Our intention was to leave the children in any of the Fast Food outfits after our N1million ransom must have been paid, but nemesis caught up with us, it was really a bad luck for us. I gave one of them the Biscuits I came with and I was petting her.”

The Acting Police Spokesman, Jinadu said the kidnapers got at the twins, Rita and Ruth because of the biscuits offer.

“The kidnappers succeeded in kidnapping the twins after giving them the biscuits, but unknown to them, the School Authorities alerted the police and we responded immediately and swoop on them. They had the phone numbers of the school and they succeeded in buying a new telephone line so that their numbers will not be traced.
“They intended taking the children to Okokomaiko in Ojo area, so that they can call the school and demand for their criminal ransom,” he added.

Jinadu said that the suspects would soon be arraigned in court, adding that the Lagos State Police Command was taking measures in checkmating the nefarious activities of criminal elements, including kidnappers in the state.

FamilyRe: Who Will Save Me From My Mother In-law? by TewMuch: 6:23pm On Oct 12, 2010
When you started this relationship or got married you obviously did not discuss the boundaries. All Inlaws visiting should have a specified length of time to stay (it is up to you guys to decide how much or how long). Also, you never confront or get into an argument with your inlaw. You let your husband handle that and vice versa. You also do not need to have a bond with your inlaw, mutual respect is adequate so that the boundaries remain. You need to call your husband and discuss your marriage so you know where you stand. If he is willing to sacrifice his life and children for an old mama that may soon die then it is up to him. He is sacrificing his future over his emotions. He obviously loves his children, so emphasize family unity and the importance of his presence in his children's lives. Tell him how much they miss him and how much they would love for him to be around more on a permanent basis. But Mama must leave, as her time has expired in the house. Also tell him you are not comfortable with strangers in your house as your kids are so little, and the world is a dangerous place now (kidnappers and molesters). He also needs to communicate to his mum that you and his children are very important to him, and she has to live with the fact that you people are not going anywhere. She cannot take over your house. I have a question, was his mum a single mother? I am guessing if he had a father, she would not try all she is doing. These kind of behaviors come from single mother's and their son's. They are over protective and dont value family unity most times. Goodluck.

I have a feeling that you will stay until you get burned, which I see happening very soon.Your guy is a DREAMER and YOU need someone to cater to to make you feel wanted. You need someone that needs you and relies on you to make you feel special. Both of you have deep issues and are a match made for hunger, poverty, frustration and failure.Try asking this guy to be more realistic with his dream, and see how fast he will dump you.He must think you are the only way out for him, and in a way you have convinced yourself in that manner. You don't have a control over the embassy.80% chance he's gonna be denied. The lapse in his education and lack of funds. Can you show that you have $100k in your account to take care of him for 4 yrs?Besides he is this lazy where he has family and support, what will he do in a challenging and difficult country like America? It is not easy in America, you have to work for every penny. This guy cannot survive here.Try to advice him to get a part time job and go to school fulltime. Tell him if he completes his education in Nigeria and works, both of you would have saved enough money for his graduate degree.Chances are this is not what he wants to hear, and he might dump you after such discussion. This is not about love, its about setting yourself up for a productive life. You can only help a lazy man so much, at the end of the day he will disgrace you.He cannot change, and you can never change any1.

In Yoruba culture, women are not powerless or dominated like you think. They actually, historically have political power. They are not repressed like other tribes. I am not suprised to see an Area girl like tawa. She is no ordinary woman, you see the men say she fights like a guy. SO she has earned their respect. I have seen some area mama's beat up guys too many times in Lagos. No man wants to get into a fight with those women, they will f*uck you up. No joke. cheesy

PoliticsRe: Will Jonathan Hand Over To An Ibo In 2015? by TewMuch: 3:38am On Oct 11, 2010
Why should he hand over to a particular group? We are trying to change the process you are still talking about zoning. Zoning impoverishes everyone as each zone during their reign will just try to grab as much as possible for their own zone. Which will be unraveled when another person from another zone steps in, because the previously developed zones will be neglected. Zoning is a legitimate way to loot by our illiterate political jobbers. If we want Nigeria to be better, the best man must win. If there is a detribalized Igbo that has a proven track record, and can be trusted why not contest in 2011? Nigeria is changing, as our way of doing things over the past 50 years has been to our detriment. Soon, only the best will be able to occupy that position. If Igbo's want to occupy it they better look for their best, same with other tribes.
PoliticsRe: Mbu Apologises Over Comment On Balewa’s Death by TewMuch: 3:30am On Oct 11, 2010
But Mbu was fiercely defended by Igbo's when he came up with his lies. Because it fit an Igbo agenda to distance themselves away from the casualties caused by the Igbo coup, so history will not judge them. Now they say he is not Igbo when they found out he was lying abi? Funny stuff. grin grin grin cheesy. Nothing to be ashamed of about the coup, what happened, happened and it is in the past. We should just learn from the past and move on, not try to deny it. It is our history and going to be our history till the world ends, nothing can ever change that.
PoliticsRe: Ademoyega Was The Cordinator Of The 1966 Ibo Coup? by TewMuch: 3:24am On Oct 11, 2010
bullshit, stupid Akin-Egba. What are you trying to do? Revise history as usual. Seems there is some guilt coming up from somewhere. Ademoyega was stupid and was used. He was not in charge of nothing. The Igbo soldiers were in charge of the coup. Stop your nonsense by trying to say Yoruba's did it. Stupid retard. Everyone knows the history of the coup and it is what it is. There is no need to start to raise up idiotic and nonsense allegations. If it was a Yoruba thing, more Yoruba's would have been involved. Does Ironsi sound Yoruba to you? Omo ale.

Make una leave my people alone oh. What is all this. If they are not organized like this they would constitute a big nuisance to Lagos State. This is a process of making them work, even though they mostly just collect money. But they have helped create some order in the whole chaos. Area boys have always been there and they aint going no where. Its better they are organized or they become desperate and everyone loses. These guys have nothing to lose, and will die for N1000. They are also the ones that can mobilize people for politicians in a big way, as they constitute most of the indigenous lagos youth.
PoliticsRe: Cecilia Ibru Very Ill:can't Make Jail Unless She's Allowed 2 Serve From Home by TewMuch: 10:15pm On Oct 10, 2010
so now she is too ill to go to jail? If she is going to die she better die there. So many people live in Nigeria and dont have access to that kind of money, they are not in jail but die because of lack and greedy people like her. If you do the crime you better do the time. If they let her stay under house arrest, there is no lesson learned from this for other looters. In the future looters will claim they are sick too, and house arrest will replace prison for them. Please Madam Ibru, go to jail, do not pass Go. Get ready to wear your jumpsuit, lose your freedom and spend 18months with regular people that you robbed. I am sure it would be an educative experience for her. She will develop a conscience.

Enough of all this argument, read what his lawyer said, 234 Next are beginning to even doubt the call. So to all the ignorant people fighting on this thread about something that is so clear, the argument is not necessary.

Mr. Okah’s South African lawyer, Piet Dupleiss, in a telephone conversation with NEXT, said that his client could receive calls whilst in custody, but that he could not make calls from within the cell.

“Mr. Okah does not have access to his personal phone,” he said. “However, with permission he can receive calls on the official prison phone.”

PoliticsSA Based Mercenary In Nigeria; 17000 Rounds Of Ammo Found In His Home by TewMuch(op): 12:51am On Oct 10, 2010
A large quantity of ammunition which was allegedly stolen from the Hoedspruit air force base in South Africa has been found on a farm near Carolina in Mpum-alanga, News24.com reported yesterday.

advertisement

The approximately 17,000 rounds, of which more than half are for R4 assault rifles, were found in a house rented by a former air force flight instructor.

The suspect, whose identity is known to Beeld, is currently in Nigeria where he is supposedly working as a mercenary.

The police carried out the raid on the farm Jaglus, about 10km outside Carolina, on Monday night after receiving a tip-off about the ammunition.

The suspect rents a house on the farm. Three firearms (for which the suspect does have licences) were also seized.

These firearms are a 9mm pistol, a .303 and a .22 rifle.

The police also suspect that there are illegal firearms in a second safe discovered in the house.

Apparently this second safe will only be opened once the suspect has returned to South Africa.

The information about where the ammunition was kept was apparently given to police after they conducted a raid last week on Willem Ratte and nine other men.

Leonard Hlathi, spokesperson for the unit against organised crime in Mpumalanga, confirmed that the seized ammunition is being kept at the police station in Carolina.

He could not say whether there is any link between the raids on Ratte and the farm at Carolina.

The ammunition also included hundreds of 12-gauge, .22, .303 and 9mm rounds.

Meanwhile Beeld has determined that plans are being made to bring the suspect back to South Africa from Nigeria by the weekend.
