Kobojunkie:
When we had only western networks like CNN and the BBC broadcasting these stories, most of you cried foul and claimed they only liked to focus on the BAD and never went out to find the really far and in-between good stories you wanted to show off your Nigeria. Now you have a reputable non-western network in the same region, showing you that what the BBC and CNN has been broadcasting is not far from the very reality in the area, and people still complain and now claim conspiracy?

At what point do we start looking inwards to figure that they might all just be showing us exactly what is happening right in our home?
A lot of despicable things are happening in Arab countries, why do they not start their own campaign on all of that? What is the focus with Nigeria? Arab countries have more than enough news they can report on, but i dont see them doing that. Only surface news, and heavy interest in Nigeria. I am all for free press, but when news channels start to play politics then we have a problem. Answer how they happened to be on the exact scene of the bomb blast first. Please open your eyes. Everything foreign freaks Nigerians. They owe the Nigerian citizens a duty to report known and plausible threats before they happen. I am convinced they had a heads up on the bomb blast.
PoliticsRe: What Is Aljazeera's Mission In Nigeria? by TewMuch(op): 3:08pm On Oct 06, 2010
My biggest question for them is how did they get to film the bomb blast? How did they know the location? And who gave them this information. How come they did not see the morality in informing the govenrment, since they are a news station that is "Unbiased".The government should look into this. Seemed they had more information on the bomb blast than Nigerians, something is funny here. angry

edoyad:
Aljazeera is a third tier cable tv station struggling to climb up the pyramid of recognition. What they have going is the wealthy owners who are sparing nothing to bring in established names.
Unfortunately just like like a communist state owned media organisation they fail to mirror what is going on in the societies they're from, they're busy focusing on the problems of the rest of the world when we fully know the Arabian world is the most unstable, repressive and volatile in then world.

superboi:
Tewmuch al jazeera is another platform for another oppressors of the africans, the arabs. in africa al jazeera main goal is to ezpose the folly of western policies and their allies and to paint the views of their allies. for example they talk about genocide in jos or when boko haram gets massacred, but never cover or mention the word genocide in darfur province in sudan(my brother which is more of a genocide?). in nigeria and in particular at this particular moment when a strong supporter of OIC and the islamization of nigeria is up against a southern christain with a western outlook you should be able to infer who they would support. all media outlet have their play master and write their script to favour them al jazeera is not different, my only advise to nigeria/African in general is we should not let this greed for our resource by different power block globally to define us, we should define our selves. but like fela trully said they have divided us with borders(country, regions), tribe and worst and most potentially dangerous RELIGION angry. May God save us. grin
GBAM! They tend to be very interested in Nigeria. No one needs their news reporting. Arab countries have more news than AlJazeera can handle. They just always seem to be at the right place, at the right time (seems someone invites them as a witness and gives them exclusive access to promote propaganda). Listen to Henry Okah's rubbish. Doesnt make sense that GEJ will tell him to frame the northerners up so he can be "treated better in SA". That is a slip up. IN Nigeria the typical arrangement is to betray someone and then you come back home from exile untouchable. I think AlJazeera is up to mischief in Nigeria. The Arabs are trying to be the lord and master over Africa already, look at sudan and now somalia (e.g Religion); where better to start the divide and rule tactics than Nigeria (Africa's largest population)?

They seem to be way ahead of disaster's in Nigeria. DO they know something or have intelligence that the Nigerian Government doesnt? How come they have access to so much intelligence in Nigeria? Even where Nigerian News has no authority? Who gives them this access, and why all the propaganda from them? It is very peculiar

I see your point though.Dokpesi if offered the death sentence with overwhelming evidence will sing like a bird so the charges can be negotiated. Will IBB allow this to happen? I doubt it, am sure IBB will soon silence him and blame it on MEND.That is if they are involved. It will do dokpesi some good to sing loud and clear so he can be protected in time.Or else? IBB is not loyal to anyone but himself.Dokpesi will not live to repent.Same goes for Okah.Their game is up, they have been caught. Its time to save themselves. To arrange Okah's demise in a SA prison will be too cheap for IBB.when there are no witnesses, who is there to point fingers at him? This is why associating with IBB is a big risk.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Replies Okah: You Are A Drowning Man by TewMuch: 6:29pm On Oct 05, 2010
Unless MEND publicly disowns Okah, he has implied and expressed authority to speak for MEND. Everyone associates him with MEND, and knows that he represents MEND. Even if he does not reside in the country, it can be argued within reasonable means that he has the authority to act on their behalf. As it stands i have not heard that MEND has disowned Okah and expelled him from their leadership. So it still remains that MEND is responsible for the bombings. Okah also has not denied being responsible for the bombings, so we can reasonably assume that he was responsible.

onye_ngbu:
Some people are so dumb here.

Okah is not equal to MEND. Okah might be a member of MEND but that doesnt mean he did what he did under agreement with MEND authorities.

MEND is a group which Okah belongs to and it doesnt mean that eveything Okah doest is what MEND does.

Just like when a policeman uses his issued riffle to rob,  it doesnt mean that NIGERIA POLICE robs people.

Why is this so hard for people to get!

Those accusing political intimidation against IBB camp are ignorant.
Cash movement of $100M was traced into a bank account of one of the suspects living abroad.
One of the suspects confessed buying a Jeep with money given to him by Dokpesi.
Scotland Yard was involved in the investigation even before the blast.
No one has ever come out to pronounce Dokpesi guilty.
An aide of IBB met with one of the primary suspect in SA.

Are people saying that if there is an obvious evidence against somebody, he should not be interrogated?
If anyone of your relations is injured or killed innocently, are you saying you will be happy and wish no just is done?

As for me, no stone should be left unturned. Even one involved should be tried in court of law and if found guilty, should be made to pay the supreme price.
And i support all his properties be liquidated and given to the families as restitution. Including Dokpesi's as well. The remainder they can share it to  the rest of the citizens, through patience method ( Bag of rice for every household to cook jolof and celebrate IBB's firing squad movie)

Am sure they knew, and they let it happen to catch IBB red handed. If they prevented it, maradona would wriggle his way out. There is no way out this time. SA, Britain and Nigerian governments are all involved. Even if Nigeria is incapable of gathering intelligence, the other 2 countries are well capable. IBB fell into a nasty trap, and he must go down.

The FG army can not stand a guerrilla attack remember ivory coast, the possibilities are endless.
The best way to prevent one is to prepare for it.
Your imaginations are running wild. Let them try the bolded and see if the whole mend do not disappear. Nothing will happen, the people that did this will face firing squad. Chikena. No one is above the law. They all should be properly interrogated and ruthlessly dealt with.
The source of $100 million transacted should be traced.

The associates of IBB that British Police said met with Okah should be unmasked and smoke out.

Even with all the import duties and taxes Lagos is exclusively collecting, it's still on the verge of bankruptcy.

Just open up 2 or 3 more ports on the south coast to share the import revenue and allow a large chunk of 'omo ibo' to get their imports through the new ports and lets see if babapupa and his likes will come here to say Lagos this, Lagos that when the state becomes fully bankrupt.
Please do this ASAP. It is very important. And lagosian's will not mind. It will still cost you more as Lagos is the largest port for a reason. Location, location, location.

I guess you don't know the meaning of the word, "donate."

The bolded captures the essence of all I have been saying, so it is quite foolish for either you or bawomolo to pretend they cannot understand it and try to tell me what I have been telling you; the organisation was a sham. Do you need glasses to read that?

However, though the organisation was ridiculous to almost negligence levels, the thought behind the gesture was good and for many,  the rice was a Godsend.
Please stop the propaganda. What she did is wrong period. You dont solve hunger by giving handouts, you provide measures to where these people can provide for themselves. Agricultural education programs, and good loans for farmers so that they can till their farms and make food for the nation. This is just an expensive election propaganda, and a retarded one at that. A useless waste of money, and the people that need it will not get it. How barbaric for the police officers to beat citizens.

On Obama and Michelle, they are VOLUNTEERING in soup kitchens. The American government will never let them do wasteful spending like that. Soup kitchens provide food for the homeless, and the destitute. They rely on donations from people and are non profit organisations, just in case you didnt know. It is the citizens that donate the food from their own pantry. Not the Obama's, who just gave their time to making homeless people feel special. what is wrong is wrong. This would not make them win people's vote. We need change not the same old.

The river Niger, Nigeria and Niger Rep. were named by western explorers
to the sponsors of their expeditions. In the case of our west-Africa area, it was
the Royal Niger Company. And their product of trade were slaves called niggers,
The off-springs of these nigger/niggars in the new world they called negros/nigros.
Their source of these slaves (nigers), they called Niger-area. combined form Nigeria.
The name is certainly insulting and dehumanizing.
This is too ridiculous for words. Let me guess, you are African American? Or a descendant of slaves angry at the white man. First and foremost the word Nigger came from the Negro classification. Negro means black in (i have forgotten what language but i think it is spanish). Just like they classify whites as Caucasian, they classify blacks as Negro. Its just their classification and has nothing to do with a derogatory word. Niger has nothing to do with Nigger. The word Nigger is an off shoot of Negro, and is derogatory yes. But you are only a Nigger, if you believe you are.
