The actual open conflict phase for both Chechen wars didn’t last more than 2.5 years in total. You appear to be adding the insurgency period which makes no sense.

In this war, Ukraine currently is in the ascendancy after 7 months of fighting. A large number of Ukrainians are mobilized and they’re using weapons the Chechens never dreamt of using.
