2kurupt: Get your facts right dude, I never said Techno is better than an iPhone or vice versa (they all have their good points) rather i initially quoted you because you tend to see a "Chinese" manufactured product in bad taste forgetting the iPhone falls into same category.Putting Tecno in the same sentence or class as ZTE, Hisense, Huawei, Xiaomi or Oppo is just plain insulting to the rest of them. The only thing Techno has ever innovated on is the pricing...and they were even selling at a markup sef. Not sure why Nigerians have this weird love for Tecno. They've fulfilled their purpose by helping many Nigerians get in on the smartphone game at an affordable price. But when i see people using nearly 60K to pick up a Tecno Phone, I'm left flabbergasted. |
There's something extremely hilarious about sycophants that rain fire on brimstone on the likes of Saharareporters now suddenly taking news from 'Power Steering' newspaper as gospel. Kai, Nigerian Politics is a source of endless comedy ![]() https://gifshost.com/052009/1243271414_black_guy_laughing.gif |
Nsonaso: iPhone 5s have the same features.... So stop blabbing about iPhone 6When you opened that thread gushing about the Infinix Zero, you didn't realize it had the same features as a 12k tecno phone? |
Seun: No, it's the same sensor and same lens.Except Apple's Phil Schiller clearly says it's an 'all new sensor' https://d35lb3dl296zwu.cloudfront.net/uploads/photo/image/17809/DSC_4612.jpg Faster focus means less blurry shots in shorter time https://d35lb3dl296zwu.cloudfront.net/uploads/photo/image/17811/DSC_4619.jpg Better image processing with more features https://d35lb3dl296zwu.cloudfront.net/uploads/photo/image/17812/DSC_4621.jpg And an all-new Image Signal Processor to process captured photons into sharper pictures with less noise https://d35lb3dl296zwu.cloudfront.net/uploads/photo/image/17818/DSC_4635.jpg Seun: The only reason for better low life performance is the OIS which is only in the iPhone Plus. Not exactly correct. The Galaxy S5 had better low light performance than the S4 even without OIS. Seun: I feel that if the difference was clear they would have demonstrated it.You mean like the picture samples they showed during their Keynote on the massive screens? https://d35lb3dl296zwu.cloudfront.net/uploads/photo/image/17813/DSC_4623.jpg Of course, 'Camera' doesn't only mean the rear camera, not in a world these days where Selfies are becoming incredibly popular. And the Front facing cameras on the iPhone have been improved too. https://d35lb3dl296zwu.cloudfront.net/uploads/photo/image/17837/DSC_4686.jpg After posting all these pictures, it would be incredibly ironic if the spambot banned me while i was discussing with you ![]() |
timpaker: Like seriously, a RAM of 1GB when the Samsung galaxy S5 boast of 2GB RAM...Your Samsung 'boasts' 2GB RAM because it absolutely needs it The iPhone can easily get by with 1GB RAM because the OS is designed to be efficient...at least much more efficient than Android at memory management. Still, with that 1GB RAM, iOS manages to run smoother and much less laggy than Android...and certainly much smoother than your S5. In fact, you shouldn't even be talking since you own the crappy Nigerian variant of the S5 with it's rubbish Exynos SoC. I had the good sense to pick up the Qualcomm version which is much less laggy. |
dlox01: imagine if this was the specs of the iphone6 vs Galaxy s5........ i guess Apple users would be delighted rightWhy would I take a less powerful Galaxy S5 over an iPhone 6? (Ignore the fact that I already have an S5) The iPhone 6 likely has a more powerful CPU and most definitely a much more powerful GPU with improved low level driver support so games will always look better on the iPhone 6. You really have no clue. You just compare two numbers and pick the higher one as more powerful. ![]() |
Seun: What differences exactly? It IS an improvement, though. Not sure why anything that reduces blurriness can be a a bad thing. And you should theoretically get better low-light performance. Apple also touts improved tonal mapping and improved noise reduction with the 6-series cameras, so you should also get better color reproduction and less noisy pictures. I guess we won't know for sure how it stacks up against the others until the first reviews start trickling out. |
ollah1: Note 4 and LG G3(korean version) blows it away and yes nextweek we shall know :dHave you seen any comparisons between the A8 and the Snapdragon 805? No? Then you just pulled that out of your backside |
Seun: The iPhone camera was not improved on the iPhone 6. It's the same camera as the one on the iPhone 5s. But the iPhone 6 Plus has OIS now.Not correct. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sport the same improved camera over the 5S. 6 Plus just has the extra benefit of OIS tacked on. The iPhone 6 doesnt have OIS because the dolts at Apple were so fixated with making the phone thin that there was pretty much no way to fit OIS into that Camera module. |
Seun: Which of the following 3 phones would you buy if they cost the same and had exactly the same features? For me it's iPhone 5s, very obviously.Of course the 5S has a better design. But if it had a 4.7" screen and the specs of the 6, it wouldn't be a 5S anymore. I think Apple's lost the plot with the iPhone, though. The Home button is now a trap for them, a millstone around their necks. They'll never be able to get rid of those huge bezels and their famed leadership in design may soon come to an end. |
2kurupt: Can a benchmark result truly justify performance of a device when in real life scenarios we all use ourNo. I explicitly stated that the iPhone 6 was more powerful than the Z3. I made no mention of the camera quality, which may very well easily be in favor of the iPhone. Many Benchmarks are often tested with real-world scenarios in mind. You should do less of reading GSMarena reviews and focus on Anandtech, for example. Pound for pound, I've got no doubt the A8 will smoke the 801. We'll see about the 805. |
2kurupt: You still haven't mentioned what it do that the 'other peers' can't do.So you're quoting specs for quoting sake? - Wireless charging: Neither the Galaxy S5 or Note 3 have wireless charging. Most Android phones do not have this built in. You can snag accessories for most flagship phones that supports wireless charging, the iPhone 6 is no exception - Water resistance: Has never been a key feature in a phone. Nice to have, though - IR remote control: Meaningless. Most TVs made since 2012 have Wifi inbuilt and dedicated apps in the App store for remote controls. Or you could easily pick up some 3rd party accessories if you're that desperate. - running multi apps on a split screen: Fair point...but most people do not use this feature. The funny thing is, you just dont just get it. 'Android' isn't a Phone. It's an OS. But you fanboys love to combine features from like 5 different phones, call it 'Android' and compare it against the iPhone. - At least with the iPhone 6 you've got guaranteed updates to the latest firmware for at least 3 years. It's highly unlikely that the HTC One or Galaxy S3 will get an Android L update - Smooth, consistent performance: iOS still has the smoothness from 2010 that Android has been chasing, first with 'Project Butter', then the lowered memory requirement on KitKat and now Android L - Far better ecosystem for accessories. - desktop integration for OSX users - Compatibility with BOTH Apple and Google smartwatch devices. - Best in class CPU and GPU specs. You also avoid a significant amount of malware, inconsistent app performance, OEM skin related lagginess and you can be sure of getting some of the best apps first. There are pros and cons to both sides. You could choose one side without damning the other. Or you could be like me and rock both OSes. I currently use a Galaxy S5 and a 5S. Will upgrade to a Z3 (for PS4 remote play) and an iPhone 6. Win-Win ![]() |
2kurupt: Like you have used the both side by side already.. Let's keep sentiments aside, deep down you wished it offered more in terms of specsI don't need to have used them. Stop being ignorant. The Z3 uses a Snapdragon 801 chipset which isn't that more powerful than the A7 SoC in the iPhone 5S. The A8 in the iPhone 6 will most definitely stop all over it in benchmarks. The real interesting comparison will be between the 805 in the Note 4 and this A8 Chipset. |
ollah1: The fact is they will still sell regardless and that's what their fans are called sheeps. There isn't any single wow factor in the phones. The specs are so 2012Specs are 2012? I'm willing to bet the iPhone 6 will be the most powerful mobile phone in the world when it shows up in stores next week. If anything, some of you are the ignorant sheep. I bet you think a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 is faster than a 2.3 Ghz Core i7 from 2014. To be honest, I think more Android fanboys are far bigger sheep ![]() |
sirjohnson: Now he is talkingThose banners have been up for weeks. What a disgrace. |
dmcdad: These people don't know anything about cameras, that is why they think Mps translate to better images. Wrong! Like you rightly stated, M8 comes with 4ultra pixels and smokes the Galaxy S5. Apple and HTC and treading the same path, and that is the path of great cameras. People should check a lot of DSLRs and they would discover that most have minimal number of MPs, but are the best in photography.Actually the M8 camera has poor daylight outdoors performance compared to other flagships this year. Does very well in low light, but all round worse than the others. |
akereconfi: Rocking my Xperia ™ Z2The iPhone 6 is most certainly more powerful than the Z2. See why clinging to paper specs isn't useful? |
nymphomaniac: you have a point sha, but then, other companies are not asleep, when they brand their phone with a high megapixel, they get the job done too. Its now left to compare both. BTW, don't compare a phone to a cameraExactly. Wait until the reviews trickle down first. It's totally laughable to judge based on Megapixel count. |
There's something hilarious about people going "It's camera is only 8MP and so it must be worse than my 13MP samsung phone camera" "It's only dual Core so it cannot be as fast as my quad core/octacore phone" And still calling others sheep. ![]() Only a true sheep would believe the SoC's power is directly related to the number of cores...and that the megapixel count is an accurate reflection of camera prowess. If you think your 20MP Xperia Z has a better picture quality than a 16MP Canon DSLR from 2013, I've got a bridge to sell to you. |
Fweshdude: Buh ση †hε σ†hεr hαηd †hε Gs5 hαs gσ† †hσsε, ωıd ενεη bεrrα ƒεα†urεs.My iPhone is MILES smoother and faster than the SGS5 for me. Touchwiz is a lag compared to stock Android. And I'm even own the international Qualcomm model. Not sure how you guys manage with the horrid Exynos Octacore versions they sell in Nigeria. Let's be brutally frank here; the reason why a whole lot of guys here prefer Android is from the ease of piracy. Sometimes they take these to despicable heights...there's a whole forum thread of people rocking 50k+ Android phones yet desperately trying to pirate Modern Combat 5, a game that would only cost N1200 to download legitimately and allow online multiplayer gaming without any hassle. many people have never needed NFC, use Bluetooth mainly for music streaming and connecting to wearables/smart tech etc.. So for those, what's the benefit of picking up a Galaxy over an iPhone? |
Ngwakwe and Luvinhubby seem to have scurried off. never did get the proof I demanded from them. Ah, well. |
akpanoka: Teachers withdrew their wards before d attack took place. Interesting. It's worth noting that this allegation is yet to be substantiated. And frankly, it's hard to believe, otherwise you'd expect those teachers to have been the guest of the SSS by now. Far more likely to have been a daft conspiracy theory. akpanoka: The children were left on their ownErm...the Army bears the responsibility for security in Borno state, and they've had that responsibility since the State of Emergency was declared last year. You may need to shrug off your ignorance and lay blames at the right quarter akpanoka: No electricityif you think it's only in Borno State that schools may not have electricity at night, I have a bridge to sell to you. not sure if Shettima is the one ensuring that a nation of 175 million people can only generate 4000+ MW of electricity. |
BWAHAHAHA!! So basically all this man did was to throw his wife under the bus and some people here are applauding him for his rambling and shambolic statements? Kai, some people are Sheep sha. Real sheep. And some are shameless. See this Pastor happily strutting up and down the stage, belittling his wife. What is the 'level' again in Christianity? Someone you set to be Pastor over a large flock in the UK and suddenly she is now a tier 3 minister. Shameless |
luvinhubby: Unless you are in diaspora, it was all over the news when the federal ministry of education ordered the indefinete closure of all fed. govt. schools in Northeast Nigeria. Is there any chance you can be bothered to find any online link to corroborate what you just said? Afterall, since it was 'all over the news', it shouldn't be hard to find one, right? luvinhubby: Are you also aware that WAEC wrote to Borno state govt. to relocate all SSCE candidates to Maiduguri.I'm aware of this. I'm also aware that the State Government supposedly claimed security was being provided. This then goes back to the folks who ARE supposed to provide security in a State under a State of Emergency. But we digress. We're supposed to be all about getting the girls back. Are you aware that the FG bears chief responsibility for getting those girls back? PS: Waiting for that link, please. |
Ngwakwe: You think every Nigerian you don't agree with is a low lifer to warrant display of your megalomaniac disdain for their point of view notwithstanding your lack of in-depth knowledge of the subject being discussed.Your childish and desperate attempt to derail the topic of discussion is laughable. Stop trying to dodge and answer the question. Where did you see that the FG closed all the schools in the North? I asked for proof and you provide bluster? The only record in place is the FG closing 5 unity schools in the North. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/fg-closes-five-unity-schools-in-north-east/173103/ Following last week’s attack on the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe State, the federal government has ordered the temporary closure of five unity schools in the North-east region.None of those schools is in Chibok. Funny enough, the only record i could find of schools being forced to close wholesale was the Borno State Govt closing all secondary schools early this year because the Army - led by GEJ - could not guarantee their security. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/mar/18/nigeria-state-closes-schools-fears-boko-haram Whine all you want about what I know, but at least my posts do not come from a position of sycophancy like yours do. Ngwakwe: I am done with you for your attempt to buck pass responsibilities thereby exonerating a State Administrator who has the power and affrontery to override a presidential order from blame when WAEC has confirmed that they presented their security assessment/report to the governor and advised him to postpone the Exams or take the venue to a more secured center at the capital MaduguriAgain, you throw out 'Presidential order' without providing any evidence for the existence of such order. i'm still baffled why you think a 'security assessment' from WAEC supersedes one from the Army or DSS. Ngwakwe: Good bye.No, you don't get away that easy. I insist you provide a source for your 'presidential order' statement. Prove me wrong or slink away in shame, lapdog. |
Ngwakwe: First, define who is a lowlife1. Can you provide any evidence that the FG ordered the closure of all Federal Govt colleges indefinitely? 2. Does the State Governor opening the school remove the duty of the Nigerian Army to protect the school? You're fighting an insurgency that has attacked schools and declares that Western Education is Evil...is the first thing to do not to have a running database of every single school that is open in troubled areas, especially after those 44 students were butchered in Yobe? It is amusing that people try to spin the opening of the school as a surefire sign that the Governor is culpable. People do not want to ask themselves why a school can be open with no security being provided by the SSS and Army who should - at a minimum! - be actively tracking every open school, especially one as big as the Chibok school. Once again, you've let sycophancy get the better of you. I asked you a simple question; whatever the circumstances, does the buck not fall on GEJ to retrieve the missing girls and THEN prosecute anyone found culpable? So where are the Girls? Why are they not back? That is the question any right-thinking person should be asking. |
meforyou1: atiku Abubakar and buhari both in unambiguous terms, said they would make the country ungovernableLink? Citation required please. Provide a source for this claim or I give you 48 hours to apologize! ![]() |
Ngwakwe: #ShettimabringbackourgirlsActually, it was Goodluck Jonathan that stood on a stage and PROMISED and SWORE to protect the lives and properties of all Nigerians. He is the one in full control of the Army, the Police and the SSS. This is what Oby Ezekwesili has been saying. The parents don't care if you think it's APC behind Boko Haram, or if it's thieves, or if it's witches or warlocks or opposition or magicians. That is immaterial. The important thing is that Nigerian citizens - HIGHLY VULNERABLE YOUNG LADIES - have been kidnapped and are most likely now being savaged in ways we cannot comprehend. The onus lies on the President to BRING BACK THE KIDNAPPED CHIBOK GIRLS. Not sure why you think Shettima has anything to do with this. That is immaterial. The Girls are with Boko Haram. The buck for their retrieval stops at GEJs desk. It is pure inanity and imbecility to attempt to suggest otherwise. I despise it when you lowlifes play politics with this Chibok issue. It's despicable and pathetic. I guess most of you are still beardless mercenaries who do not have children yet that's why you can be so cavalier over the suffering of others. |
tochukwuifeduba: It said, “It is on record that the same people trying to frame up Gen. Ihejirika are the same people who claimed they would make Nigeria ungovernable for President Jonathan, in the aftermath of the 2011 presidential election. It takes a colossal amount of stupidity from these louts to on one hand lambast APC for not 'verifying information first' before making a press release, yet still continue to parrot the blatant falsehood that APC said they'd make the country ungovernable for GEJ. Last I knew, that statement was made by people like Lawal Kaita and Adamu Ciroma that are firmly ensconced in PDP at the present. Not an APC defender at all, but let truth and common sense prevail. |
xtervaganza: what I decide to do with my free time is none of your business and will never be.....So if you're so busy, why are you trolling? Not satisfied with your Android device? xtervaganza: And what makes u think I'm trolling? That's what u isheeps think people who try to ram common sense into your tiny brains do.What common sense? There's been no ounce of common sense in all your posts here. It's just been the same "Apple users as Sheep, iPhone = icrap" that we usually see from brain-dead fanboy kids online. The irony of someone babbling about 'sheep' yet desperate to pick up a Samsung device ![]() xtervaganza: As per d iq, I think u should be more worried about your derailing mental state. Acting like a stoopid kid while defending apple is a sign of serious mental illness.Defending Apple? For what? All I'm defending here is common sense. Something you clearly lack. xtervaganza: Perhaps u need a shrink, not JESUS. JESUS did not die to save a lost dumb@ss like youStruck a nerve, did I? Try and be happy with your choice, kiddo. Fweshdude: εxαc†◘γ †hε pαıηs mγ αuη† pαssεs †hrσugh †ı◘◘ dα†ε.But that's the point you folks never seem to understand. Most people do not require any of those for file transfer. Sometimes it's exasperating when you want to load up a song on your iPhone and are then left to hunt for iTunes. But there are times when you appreciate how smooth iOS runs compared to your Android devices, and how a whole lot of the cool apps hit iOS first. For me, there's no issue anyway.
