DickDastardly: Shekau is mine. Call me up when ever he is captured so i can separate his dick from his body with bare hands and watch him wriggle in painHmm https://img.4plebs.org/boards/tg/image/1388/75/1388759300973.jpg |
mrcassanova: its bad business in terms of the deal but Google didn't kill the Motorola brand - the Moto X and Moto G areliving testimonies. The Nokia brand isn't dead. |
There's something really fishy about 200 boko haram casualties and no single military casualty. To say the least, that seems odd. Kudos to the Nigerian Army for stopping the assault on Maiduguri. I think and hope that the days of Boko Haram are numbered. |
Anyone stupid enough to provide their bio data to an obvious group of sycophants should not complain. |
Any idea why this is in the 'Technology Market' section? |
slinkman: Kk, IsheepCool. Call me sSheep too while you're at it. Galaxy S3 - Galaxy Note II - Galaxy S4 - Galaxy S5. I trust the rules of 'sheep determination' stay the same regardless of OS? ![]() |
spotit: i won't debate like I'm paid here for it...NFC, bigger screen, expandable memory(i know ur comeback already), better and even removable battery, better imaging and multifunctional cameras, single hand ergonomics, PRICE, media sharing, IP ranking , ram and our old fm etc..etc1. NFC has not been a critical add on for Android, Windows Phone or BlackBerry in the past few years. Aside from a few hardy souls using it for quick pairing, it's been nigh useless for most people. For file transfer, iOS users have been able to use Airdrop for quite a while...and you don't need to be in 'bump radius' 2. Bigger screen: Fair point. Response to the bigger iPhone 6/6+ has shown bigger screens were required in iOS. 3. Expandable memory: Why is this a 'spec advantage'? You can easily get an iPhone with more internal storage 4. Better imaging and multifunctional cameras: Considering the fact that each iPhone release has better imaging prowess than 99% of available Android flagships, you really have to be kidding me here. 5. Single hand ergonomics: WTF is this? You can't complain about iPhones having smaller screens yet choose to think huge phones can be used one-handed as good as the iPhone. Don't be ridiculous. 6. Price: At the high end, the iPhones are fully competitive. Don't be ridiculous. 7. RAM: 1GB RAM is fully sufficient for iOS so far. iOS runs smoother on 1GB RAM than your precious Samsung Flagships do on 2GB RAM. 8. FM Radio: Why is this a thing in 2014? To put things in perspective, there is no FM Radio in my galaxy S5. What else? Most of the things you've listed here are either trivial or downright laughable. I'd argue that choice of screen size is perhaps the most compelling thing in that list. Some like 'imaging performance', 'RAM' or 'FM Radio' make no sense or are just plain wrong. |
slinkman: you can't define my definition for me. If you wanna be an Isheep by all means please be. WhateverFun fact: People who use the word 'iSheep' are themselves following a herd mentality...and are thus then behaving in a manner consistent with...sheep ![]() |
spotit: those are my friends who happily pay the sums on all iphone models introduced especially in the last 2years without any groundbreaking specs but were yet touted as the "big man of the future" and in their enthusiasm pretend not to notice the rest of the wakeful mobile/computing users having a great time with other products 2years ahead of the iconic Apple thinkers...Interesting. In the last 2 years, we've had the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S. On release, the iPhone 5 with it's custom Apple A6 SoC was more powerful than 99% of Android phones in the wild. The only phones with CPU and GPU performance in the same ballpark were the handful of phones using the Qualcomm S4 Pro chipset. Basically the LG Optimus G and the Nexus 4. The iPhone 5 was more powerful than Samsungs Flagship Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Need I mention that the iPhone 5 camera pretty much top tier as far as mobile photography was concerned? The iPhone 5S was a whole other beast entirely. You may wish to consult Anandtech benchmarks if you must, but the iPhone 5S was the most powerful phone of 2013, hands down. According to Anandtech http://www.anandtech.com/show/7376/samsung-galaxy-note-3-review/4 CPU performance is honestly excellent. The Galaxy Note 3 is more or less the fastest Android smartphone we've tested up to this point. In the situations where we can do cross platform (OS/browser) comparisons, it isn't quite as fast as the iPhone 5s but in some cases it comes close.Camera wise, the 5S is routinely ranked among the 3 best camera phones of 2013. So you've actually been sneering at your friends who have been using iPhones that have almost certainly been more powerful than 99% of the competition...or ALL of them when it comes to the 5S. It does often make one wonder who really are the sheep. The ones that purchase phones that are guaranteed updates for 3+ years (2011's iPhone 4S users get iOS 8 on September 17th) or the ones that purchase phones that more often than not get no love after 18 months (2012 Android flagship phones like HTC One X/X+ never got official Kitkat and never will, Galaxy S3/Note 2 users will almost certainly not get Android L). spotit: and in their enthusiasm pretend not to notice the rest of the wakeful mobile/computing users having a great time with other products 2years ahead of the iconic Apple thinkers...Great. Can you share the products that were/are two years ahead? |
coogar: oga seun, buy a signal booster! You know of any portable signal boosters? He's obviously talking about signal issues on the go, not at home where he most surely already has - and uses - wifi. |
spotit: i think his iSheep defines people who are unreasonable collectors of every iPhone model...the loyalists unable to scrutinise or look out the box.Ah. So what's the term for those that are excited about every new Tecno release? Or every Galaxy note? Or every Galaxy S5? sSheep? tSheep? DroidSheep? Plenty of Tecno and Samsung loyalists here too. Are they looking out of the box too? Also, care to shed light on what makes people 'unreasonable collectors'? Thanks |
slinkman: you are truthful bro, but I sheeps won't understandI thought your definition of 'iSheep' covered anyone using an iPhone? Sucking up to the boss, eh? |
Reserved my iPhone 6 for pickup next friday. Surprised by the strong demand for the 6+. Sold out in the US, UK and Australia. BIG BIG mistake from Samsung to delay Note 4 release to October. This will eat into Note 4 sales like crazy. |
nwaanambra1: if he was shot in the buttocks...Or he could have been shot from behind in a flanking action? ...Or he could have been hit by a ricocheting bullet, rebounding off a hard surface? ...Or he could have been shot from the side and the bullet went across rather than into his buttocks? ...Or he could have been leading his men into a tactical withdrawal in face of superior firepower? ...Or as a valuable Army corps Engineer, he may have been leading his unit - which typically will not engage in frontline combat - to the rear? Ignorance kills, my friend. |
wazoboy: BBC should focus more on protecting England from ISIS returnees!Such a silly post. There are hundreds of thousands of 'Borno Elders'. the vast majority of them have nothing to do with Boko Haram. I hate this pathetic and lazy attempts to blame the victim that some of you half-wits love to do. I think it masks some really terrible religious and ethnic bias that some of you are not even ashamed to broadcast to the world. We hear the same thing all the time about how youths are the ones helping Boko Haram. Even the most optimistic count of Boko Haram fighter strength does not put them at up to 10,000 fighters. Yet there are more than 30 million Northern youths. That's 0.03%. And yet you people will turn around to blame Northerners. The Northern elders are your fellow Nigerians. It is their daughters that will be raped and kidnapped, their sons that will be killed. Their homes that will be destroyed. Why should they not complain? Why should they not fear? You think the populace being ruled by ISIS aren't being cowed by fear? You think the vast majority of people of Mogadishu have love for the Al-Shabaab thugs that rape their daughters and kill their people? I'm always stunned by the casual indifference you cretins have towards your fellow countrymen. It only seems to count that they are Nigerians when they play for the Super Eagles. I consider people like you little more than traitors to this nation. Scum like you deserve no respect. I cannot remember ever damning the entire people of Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta state for the activities of MEND. I cannot remember any attempt to blame everyone in Lagos for the activities of armed robbers in the region that live in the states. You bigoted traitors can f**k right off. |
The OP and the people that wrote the daft article are very silly. Why should an 'un-named source' be trusted as the witness to what happened? Even if the source is correct, why should it be a crime to retreat when you are overpowered and outgunned? It is terrible military advice to give a blanket order to 'stand your ground'. You think the world would not be a different place if the British Army had not evacuated from Dunkirk and had chose to stand and fight to the death back then? In war in an urban environment, you can take fire from multiple angles, especially when highly mobile forces using hiluxes and light cars can easily carry out flanking action. Getting shot in the buttocks or back does NOT mean you were shot while fleeing. This is not 1918 with static trenches. This is 2014...where you will be easily shot in the back by concealed snipers. I would not expect an Army engineer to be extremely heavily armed, anyway...or for soldiers to be suicidal by nature. |
Seun: texazzpete: I'm an Apple fan. I tremble with excitement whenever a keynote is coming up. I believe they have a lot to teach me about product design and communication. But I don't feel obligated to defend them when they Bleep up. And they've been doing this a lot lately.Oh, don't get me wrong. The apple event left me seriously let down. Internal specs are cool but the 1GB RAM left me negatively surprised. Not because the OS lags with it, but you get the feeling the browser could do with more memory to keep more tabs alive. Physical design is a downer...back is ugly. Front bezels are probably a necessary evil for the home button. No OIS is a downer for the smaller version. Don't get me started on the Apple watch. All in all, the big screen and the improved specs and camera will make me upgrade. But it's been a shocking lapse of form for jonny ive |
Femistico: samsung haterI used a Galaxy S3 in 2012. Switched to a Galaxy Note 2 in q4 2012 Galaxy S4 in 2013 Galaxy S5 right now. And now I'm a 'Galaxy hater' because i can speak objectively? Femistico: why cant u just checkout d specs of both phones in gsmarena and check which one is good to goJust because you're a n00b that thinks 'bigger number = better' it doesn't mean everyone else is like you. Last year the 1.2 ghz dual core iPhone 5S crushed the 1.9ghz quad core galaxy s4. It's 8MP camera easily produced pictures better than the 13MP camera in the S4. Higher numbers do not always mean better. This is why a 3.2ghz pentium 4 CPU from 2004 is much slower than a 1.8 ghz intel Atom from 2014. Femistico: I blive u love apple restrictions and limitations...smellowsLimitations? Which ones? |
Debonair01: Been using a note 2 for about 2years and a macbook for way under a year, so, i could safely say i am no die hard fan just yet; not for Android, nor apple. Granted OSes frm apple are very fluid, but just for the same reason i bought the Note 2 when i did (S-Pen) or my N97/E7 before that (slide keypads). I love something different, not just internal specs.osx Mavericks brings about an unprecedented amount of synergy between iOS and Osx. If you've got a Macbook and run OSX (not like me that 99% of the time is in boot camp Windows 7) it's actually pretty crazy not to go with iOS. If you're looking for 'innovation', I don't think the Note Edge has anything worthwhile, to be honest. The side screen is a gimmick of very limited utility, to be honest. I don't see any meaningful Dev support and real world utility is extremely limited. When Android L hits with far richer lockscreen notifications, who the hell Will be taking out their phone from their pockets to look at a scrolling line of ticker text on the Tiny side screen? If you want real innovation on the Android side, consider a Moto X (2014 edition). Added features from Motorola are far more impressive than the nearly useless edge screen in the Note Edge. As far as power is concerned, I expect the iPhone 6 to beat out the Edge in raw power. We'll see when benchmarks show up. |
Mogidi: Judging from your previous posts, I make bold to state your understanding of patriotism is narrowly defined out of convenience. My understanding of a 'patriot' is one who does his utmost to ensure his country is elevated, becomes greater and one who strives to improve the lot of his people In my previous posts I have consistently attacked anyone - APC or PDP - who I felt have fallen off the mark. I pride myself on consistency. I was damning the President for his sack of Resident doctors recently, just the way I condemned Tinubu and Fashola for their sack of doctors in Lagos two years ago. |
Mogidi: Of what use is he if he remains in opposition for life, with PDP he might just achieve something. Your reason for spewing above shite is that he no longer offer credibility to APC, be truthful to yourself.'Shite'? Sometimes I wonder how you people look at yourselves in the mirror. Do you people even consider yourselves patriotic Nigerians at this point? I care nothing about PDP or APC. All I care about is Nigeria. I'm much more interested in seeing someone who has established himself as one who is intolerant of corruption in a position where he can do the greatest good. YOU on the other hand seem more interested in what personal gain Ribadu may get from his carpet bagging. I suggest you put aside time for some personal reflection on what it really entails to be a patriotic citizen that wants the best for his country. |
Mogidi: APC will not leave Ribadu alone and for a good reason, he was one of the few shining lights in APC.Sigh People like you are part of the reason why Nigeria keeps struggling. The hopes people had in Ribadu was that he would become a change element. We wanted to see what would happen, the possible developmental revolution when a man with strong anti-corruption drive administers a state. What we're talking about someone delivering public service and you're here sermonizing about personal benefits to him. Of what use to his people is it of he gets appointed as ambassador to Gambia? |
Agreed. We would have won this fight against Boko Haram long since if not for the stupid initial belief that it was all an opposition plot. People are doing suicide bombing, beheading people and reaching out openly to Al Qaeda and ISIS and you have idiots yammering on and on about politics and opposition. I won't even go into the one year we lost between 2011 and 2012 when the Government kept trying to use 'Amnesty' and bribery to tackle hardened killers |
drey08: Hi I'm a Galaxy Note 4; I cost almost half the price of a iPhoneApart from the fact that the iPhone 6+ is most likely more powerful than the upcoming Note 4, at best the Note 4 will be $50 cheaper when compared to the i6+ of equivalent storage Space. If you're expecting 4 days battery life with that 2k screen, prepare to be disappointed. Gallanthaycube: Well like seriously in all. D specifications of dis iPhone 6 nw their is no speciality in it everything is just in line with most of our new techno phones.Lol None of your new Tecno phones is anywhere close to being as powerful as last year's 5S. |
Fweshdude: Yσu dση† rεαllγ ηεεd †hσsε †σ mακε γσur quσ†ε cσmplε†ε.I don't even care how the manufacturer does. You think I give a damn about Apple? I care when some deadbeat accuses me of 'inferiority complex' when I provide factual information on something as trivial as a phone. |
Nsonaso: No words for you, my friend. You've already roped yourself in with your ignorance. ![]() https://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc513/dmills31/1243271414_black_guy_laughing.gif |
ABC247: Do you know that Europe is not a country? Europe is actually a continent.Samsung Galaxy S5. Available as: Samsung SM-G900F for Europe Samsung SM-G900I for Asia Samsung SM-G900K/G900L/G900S for Korea Samsung SM-G900M for Vodafone Samsung SM-G900A for AT&T Samsung SM-G900T for T-Mobile Samsung SM-G900W8 for Canada Europe is a market region for Samsung, you dolt. We're talking marketing territories here. One variant available. Even one as ignorant as yourself should have been aware of this, especially when my last post talked about territories (Africa & middle east, Europe) Nice try, trying to slip by on a technicality, but epic fail all the same, half-wit. I think my forum signature that I put up more than 6 years ago describes you perfectly. At this stage, you are blind in your ignorance because you simply refuse see! |
ABC247: PS3, XBOX 360, PS4 and XBOX ONE then?I'm not sure if your browser does not display images, or you suffer from eye problem but the post you quoted has an image with comparisons to the Xbox 360 and PS3 prominently in place. Hint: The K1 can deliver more raw power than either console (360/PS3) ...and it has the advantage of several newer graphical techniques. I expect the iPhone 6 to hover around that same region...and Apple expects to sell 70 million or so of those this year. https://images.anandtech.com/doci/7622/Screen%20Shot%202014-01-06%20at%206.18.35%20AM_575px.png https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-tAZtbDZ8E#t=30 |
ABC247: GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND.And Apparently, Google is your enemy. The European variant of the Galaxy S5 is the SM-G900F. Ships with a 2.5Ghz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC. I should know...I have one in my hands right now. Here's a protip, kiddo: When you're in a hole, stop digging. You do realize those 'UK used' phones you patronize aren't always from the UK? ![]() |
Nsonaso: Which TECNO has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at both front screen panel and back metal finished case? They both run Android, right? They all have Cameras, screens et al, right? So it's fair game for you to lambast another user for focusing on things the iPhone 6 does better than the 5S, yet you're happy to tout the improvements the Infinix Zero has over a cheaper, older Tecno? I love pointing out inconsistencies to half-wits like you. I like to think I'm contributing to your education. |
ABC247: BTW Mobile games graphic still have a long way to go before catching up with Console quality, unless you are talking of PS1,NINTENDO DS, FIRST MICROSOFT XBOX, ETC..https://www.independent.co.uk/incoming/article9041031.ece/alternates/w460/consolesweb.jpg All those consoles were outstripped years ago. Have you been living under a rock? ABC247: Serious gamers don't play on mobile.Explains why there was a massive thread here when Modern Combat 5 came out, eh? Or why games continue to be the highest selling app category in every single mobile appstore? Or why in Japan, mobile gaming is cratering sales of consoles? |
ABC247: This crappy Nigerian variant of S5 with it's rubbish Exynos SOC is also sold in Europe.No. No it's not. The EU version of the S5 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset. I own one. Rank Ignorance is definitely in play in some of your arguments here. The version sold to Africa and Middle East uses Samsung's Exynos chipset. Nigeria is in Africa. Not sure how you're reading 'inferiority complex' in a discussion about phones. |
