ibedun: You brother may be the fool here. Granted they are born there and their ancestors came decades ago BUT are they loyal to Zimbabwe? DO they see themselves as Zimbabwe first before anything else?Ignorant fool, commenting on things you know nothing of. Go and ask any white South African if they think of themselves as 'English' or 'Dutch' and see if you don't get laughed out of the park. The white farmers in Zimbabwe thought of themselves as first Rhodesians, then Zimbabweans when the name was changed. ibedun: They look down on the local people, pretty much insult them, ridicule and antagonise them, and they want to carry on as superior "white" settlers!!!Source? Citation needed, please. Either way, people looking down at people of a lower economic strength is not exclusive to race. You think your Governor doesn't look down on you as a riff-raff who is of no import? hell, even a House of Reps member thinks you're scum. But I digress ![]() ibedun: The produce harvested from the land are reserved for British and European/American markets/buyers and the rejects and sub-standard produces is what goes into the local market. This is where you're straight up lying. Zimbabwe was known as 'the food basket of Southern Africa' because it produced a whole lot of food thanks to the excellent mechanized farming processes the farm owners utilized. Why would perishable food crops be exported out wholesale? Provide proof of this or remain a liar. You or any of the 5 cretins that 'liked' your post. A Farmer's profit comes from selling his produce, it's insane to allege that food products would not be sold to a ready market for frivolous reasons. ibedun: Mugabe is right. All indigenous land owners everywhere should reclaim their land and let these urgent/marauding investors or 'stakeholders' go back where they came from.Go back to where? Most were born in Zimbabwe. That is their country. Maybe we should also send the people of Liberia back to America where they came from, eh? |
xtervaganza: I'm no front page seeking kidBut you're trolling, just the same. Why? there are new games out on PS3, you know. You can always pony up and join PS Plus and get some free games...or you can upgrade to a PS4. Just get something productive doing...even if it's to break some cups of Egusi. This inane trolling does not benefit you, will not make your post go to FP and may quite possible be reducing your IQ seeing as how your posts here have grown more and more insensate and inane. Or perhaps you just need Jesus. |
xtervaganza: what an idiotic assumption.Well, your post history shows you were hunting for a Uk used Note 3 or Galaxy S4 a short while ago. Since you believe you're free to assume all iPhone users are 'sheep' (which includes brilliant folks like Steve Wozniak), I also am free to assume your bitter complaints stem from a raging desire to belittle the things you cannot afford. Fanboys often try to belittle the opportunity cost so they feel better about their choices. Try and make more money. It helps ![]() |
Collinz2: U all are talking crap. If u wanna knw if apple are good in phone then they should produce android and see if it wont lag. And then u will knw if apple is better than samsung.Congrats. It's still early days - we're in September - and there are 4 more months to go, but you actually stand a good chance of winning the 'dumbest post of the year' award. |
xtervaganza: 1 apple unveiling a new phone is always big like every big franchise I.e samsung htc Sony. Only apple's events get overhyped by the media like u rightly saidBurning with envy over things you cannot afford is always a sure way to become neurotic. |
Racist old f00l, along with nearly all those who commented on the first page. For better or worse, these guys are Zimbabwean. They were born there, their ancestors came there decades ago. We cannot take a stand against racism and yet hail one of our own when he is carrying out racial discrimination. Mugabe is just doing what many african dictators love to do; play to the gallery by appealing to the lowest common denominator...the poorly educated, low IQ folks that make up the bulk of the populace that do not see how he nearly destroyed his country. |
MabraO: Whatever u call itChildishness ![]() Ignorance too. ![]() |
xtervaganza: you don't get it, do you?1. Apple launches are always big, media-hyped events 2. People who queue up in line for Apple products long before the release usually get coverage in the media from blogs and TV channels eager to interview them 3. Some companies, desperate for PR, have now seized upon this as a way to get 'free' advertisement. Pay a few people to 'wait in line' and when blogs and TV reporters cover them, they've got free airtime on TV for their products which are prominently placed on the shirts of the people paid. To anyone with a functional brain, this obviously has nothing to do with Apple. And there's no denying that Apple products generate a lot of lines and eager interest. Unless you're also alleging that people are also paid to go online and buy enough iPhones so they go out of stock in minutes. xtervaganza: smoother than any android in the market?Ah, now it's clear. You're just trolling. ![]() |
MabraO: That would be childish of me to doAnd you trying to brag using a watch brand that isn't even top tier...what do you call that? |
klens: which one be crap? This phone! There are many phones coming out now that provide a far better investment for the money. Software is every bit as important as the hardware. If you're able to go up to 40k and you're buying a phone that will never get an update to Android L, you're wrong Look towards phones from Xiaomi, Meizu, perhaps Gionee etc. Throw in the likes of OPPO. Lots of backyard OEMs are whipping up cheap phones based on the Mediatek reference designs. No word on reliability or post sale support. Caveat Emptor |
MabraO: Y u come dey beef my $800 own$800 my butt. Post the picture na if you dare Beef ke. |
MabraO: Sorry not everyone uses movadoYou can snag often Movado watches for cheap. I'm not sure why you think such a cheap watch is a status symbol. ![]() http://slickdeals.net/f/6549202-movado-esq-watches-sale-men-s-catalyst-watch-84-55-men-s-synthesis-watch-65-55-women-s-nova-watch-65-55-amp-many-more-free-shipping There are Movado watches that drop down to as low as $65. |
Why are people bragging about cheap Movado watches that regularly go on sale on Amazon? /Facepalm |
All these people buying crap sef. Na wa o! |
4llerbuntu: watched this Fifa video. i think its ludicrous. the app does not seem to be aware that its running on a touchscreen enabled device. am i going to be lugging a keyboard and gamepad about with an 8 inch tablet just to play a game? It's not an app. It's a full Win 32 game. It's not designed for a touchscreen. You don't need the Android version, there's a stripped down version for Windows Metro, same as the Android and iOS versions. those have touch controls. This just gives you the added flexibility of being able to run the FULL version when you're stationary. 4llerbuntu: am i going to be lugging a keyboard and gamepad about with an 8 inch tablet just to play a game? No. You're going to do what most sane people would do and connect this thing called a gamepad (ever heard of it before?) to your Windows tablet via Bluetooth. Xbox pad, Playstation pad, thousands of 3rd party PC pads... Seems you only think outside the box when it comes to Linux. Weird. |
4llerbuntu: i have had the pleasure of using touchscreen laptops with windows 8 at even higher screen sizes. if you manage to get on just touch on desktop apps then you deserve a medal for skill and fortitude. you are a better man than i will ever be.erm..at higher resolutions, icons become smaller. So you had a worse time of it than anyone will have in using this 720p tablet. 4llerbuntu: IMHO the only proper touch UI is that of IOS on the Ipad.Windows Metro interface (which this tablet also has) is perfectly touch optimized. 4llerbuntu: so all on this 1GB ram with Atom processor?Yes. And you obviously haven't been keeping up. 4llerbuntu: it can, it will, and it should..... are unfortunately different concepts.'Time' is also a concept you seem unaware of. Your imagination is colored by the 'Atom' series of 2008. These new 'Atom' SoCs are quad core, possess FAR superior multithreading capabilities, better graphics and runs pretty well. 4llerbuntu: and truth be told, are these 'mobile' devices not for content consumption? you really thinkthese devices can handle for grunt work at whatever lowered settings and resolution? These mobile devices are for whatever the user wants. And with the full Windows, the user can do a whole lot of things. This isn't iOS or Android...Windows allows for easy content creation. And while you'll never set benchmarks alight with these tablets, you can easily fire up Adobe CS or AutoCAD for some quick work on the go. 4llerbuntu: i daresay if this picture of tech nirvana you have posted is accurate then Microsoft has shot windows in the foot.Windows will never be free for desktop...at least not for a long while. They can let it be free for tablets and small form factor laptops to gain marketshare, but there's not much competition at the desktop level...certainly not from Ubuntu ![]() |
Grid 2 on Baytrail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOCfSTSSldY FIFA 14 on the crappy Toshiba Encore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu1pn-bBjMY |
Bawss1: This is a low end device, certainly no one will expects to run AutoCAD or do heavy video editing on it but it's Intel Atom processor can hold its own in the league of low end devices. You can actually run AUTOCAD on this. Here's a video showing video editing using Power Director 12. Runs pretty decently. And this is even on the lower clocked 3740 from last Christmas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rfoX1bQg-c repogirl: @les, last time I checked vlc player wasn't available for windows 8, but that was a while ago..... As for my SD card, I have files from a previous phoned stored there which I can't access, if it was an android phone I'd have used ES file explorer...There's a file manager in Windows Phone 8.1, which is a free update from 8.0. |
4llerbuntu: except that you haven't talked about the practicability of using desktop apps on such a small touchscreen with such weak hardware.Except he knows he can use Bluestacks and run most Android apps on his tablet. He also knows he can pick the right desktop apps to use. Interface elements on an 8 inch Windows tablet aren't any smaller than icons in web browser on an Android or iOS tablet...and people seem to manage just fine. He also knows he can easily load the best versions of any emulator, run many Windows only apps, and play games that will not show up on Android or iOS. With Baytrail, he can load up the full PC versions of FIFA or Football Manager and not the heavily stripped down versions on sale in the iOS or Android stores. He also can run the full version of office. Macros et al...all will run fine. And with WIMBOOT enabled to make sure that the OS doesn't take up more than 4GB space, he has enough space to run stuff. Probably he also knows he can install Steam and run a huge selection of PC games from some years back at mid to low settings. He can hook it up to a TV or a monitor and use it for medium to light workloads. The Intel Baytrail SoCs in these tablets are far more powerful than those in netbooks of old...and Windows has become much lighter on system resources. That is what he probably knows ![]() |
ineriteitee: D camera of jiayu g4s is 13mp and i need 16mp and i forgot 2 add a screen of 5.5inch..thanks 4 replying though. You have got to be kidding me. Please, if there's any lesson you learn from this phone section...please understand that MEGAPIXEL COUNT IS NOT THE BEST INDICATION OF CAMERA QUALITY. The iPhone 5S has an 8MP camera and it'll give pictures as good (or better in cases) than a 20MP Xperia Z. There are phones from 2011 with 12MP cameras that cannot compare to a 6.7MP camera phone from 2013. |
chinazaekperem2: the only way we can't forgive northern nigeria is if they provide these items for the gods;Wasn't one inane comment in this topic enough for you? And stop using the term 'we'. Nobody will ever ask you to speak on behalf of any group...except maybe your immediate family ![]() |
Ngwakwe: This means Bokoharam connections go about revealing their source of funding to any spy.Strangely, you failed to make this observation when Olisa Metuh and Fani Kayode were insisting that the APC were in cahoots with (and sponsoring) Boko Haram. The hottest part of hell is reserved for hypocrites. Shun hypocrisy, please. |
Very very distasteful and tactless effort by these groups that obviously have the backing of this present administration. BananaBender: There is no concrete proof that GEJ is leading this group of sycophants.Say the truth. After you spend the monies that you're paid to post your propaganda, doesn't it make you cringe inside when you turn on the TV and see these stage-managed groups come out with their clownish sycophancy? As for your initial post, you're clearly lying. There IS concrete proof https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/167623-8000-groups-rooting-for-jonathans-re-election-presidential-aide.html#sthash.OGNc7GAW.dpbs A presidential aide was talking just two days ago about printing more than 5000 forms to distribute to these sort of groups. Receiving the report of the panel, Mr. Alkali said contrary to his earlier submission, there were now 8,000 groups canvassing Mr. Jonathan’s entrance into the presidential race and not 3, 000.In the future, we'll use this as an example or thesis of how power can corrupt. From the humble, meek GEJ to the guy giving his tacit approval to this abacha-esque show of shame..months after using soldiers and SSS to deny opposition politicians their fundamental human rights and using the armed forces to seize newspapers. |
Ndyoo: You're seller right? What you said above is not convincing enough brother. Perhaps you have someone who has bought the particular product from you on Nairaland? Why don't you just walk over to slot and buy any cheap Tecno you can find? Your crude insistence that this seller has to prove his innocence is really distasteful. If you're that paranoid, go buy your own phone in hand. You're pretty much going "how do I know you're not a crook? Convince me" and that's just lame. |
emmaihunzeyah: the 35 that have been arrest should be killed with immediate effect before their sponsors come for themAnd that starts a precedence. Don't forget that there are loads of Nigerian soldiers and mobile policemen in Boko Haram custody. Do you really want to see more beheading videos on YouTube? |
Since when did the 'civilian JTF' become a credible source of news? If BAma was safe, why was the briefing not done from BAma? Why not call from BAma? Does nobody in the civilian JTf own a camera phone? Nigerians love mediocrity sha. Gworza has been in the hands of BH for weeks and people are celebrating. What Is there to jubilation about when flags of an Islamist terrorist cell fly over a Nigerian city? For me, BAma news remains unconfirmed until more info is available. |
hancock: And oh you can disable the physical touch buttons which i did in my case and opt for the touch bottons only. cyanogenmod are crazy dudes. lots of customization i tell yaThat's not the point. The physical buttons add extra bezel to the phone, making an already bulky phone much bigger than it should be. One plus shot themselves in the foot here with that inane 'invite' system. Nexus 6 should be out by October, and it will likely be a much better deal than this (top class specs, android l, stock android, far bigger community). |
gboss4sure: When I accused the US of manufacturing Ebola one mr virology professor wanted my head and some called me a conspiracy theorist. We still dey watchHe didn't go far enough. He should have correctly called you an id'iot. There's nothing sneaky about this. This CDC has a page dedicated to discussing their licensing and patenting of lab inventions. http://www.cdc.gov/od/science/technology/licensing/index.htm |
nepp: Nice phone but not a fan of apple products. ThanksThat iPhone 5S is also infinitely easier to sell than your G2. Plus it's got a MUCH higher resale value. Not a good bit of business to turn that offer down. |
semid4lyfe: I await the Elephone P1000, the OnePlus One killer. . . .equivalent specs and cheaper price tooHehe, you'd be utterly crazy to go with that Elephone P1000 over this. At least the likes of Xiaomi and Oppo (guys behind One Plus) have a solid pedigree. You're also not guaranteed software updates and a Quad HD screen is just plain bad news at this stage with respect to battery life. |
For those folks waiting for an invite, you could just get the Xiaomi mi4. Similar specs, probably a bit better build quality and you can get it immediately. I was somewhat interested in the One Plus One until the size - and their crazy decision to go with both physical and touch buttons - killed it for me. |
Lmao @ people using 'camp stress' as an excuse. If there's stress, who is supposed to be the best stress reliever? Is it not the boyfriend that she should be able to talk to to unwind? There is no level of 'camp stress' that will not leave you with some hours of idle time in mammy market or in the rooms. I'm beginning to have a serious suspicion that most of the people babbling about 'camp stress' haven't yet gone through nysc. |
