You poor, pitiful m0r0n. How has Tecno 'tried' for Nigerians? Are Nigerians not paying money for their phones? Why should any sane human being feel gratitude to a company that takes their money?

I'm not sure how you make your money, but people that make money legally through hard work usually care for value for their money and not whether a company has 'tried'.

Nigerians are systematically being cheated in international events, I've noticed and the "we are corrupt brigade" bare a large responsibility. You people do not understand the white run international community.

Politics › Re: Opinion: Buhari's Assassination: A Farce? By Sanchez01 by texazzpete(m): 10:31am On Jul 29, 2014
Sanchez01: Sure, I will. Probably you get bombed first. It was forseen before now; I expect the APC e-rats to rant for their supposed leader. *SMH*
Thank you for making it clear where your bias lies, and why we should not take your words seriously.

Sanchez01: Having arrived at this, if we’re to imagine which of the Boko Harams attacked Buhari, which would it be? The Muhammed Yusufu Boko Haram which is believed to be largely funded and sponsored by Northern leaders
Please provide any proof for this assertion.
Many intelligence agencies have come out to say they think Boko Haram's main source of funding comes from kidnap ransoms, bank robbers, extortion etc.

Sanchez01: Boko Haram, overtime, has had few failed attempts in a quest to make known their madness. Regardless, their success rate at executing their plans and seeing that it is successful is so high that I would grade them 93%. Often times, foiled Boko Haram attacks are largely as a result of tip offs and the use of amateurs in carrying out their missions but would it have been that easy for a sect who calculate their attacks to miss on an important Northern personality, who has overtime generated controversies by saying that the founder of Boko Haram was killed and not punished by the law?
Can you please tell me where you got that accuracy figure for Boko Haram strike targets? Sheik Bauchi was attacked with explosives that same day...did he also plan his own attack too? All the bombings that have been foiled in Nigeria over the past few months, are they factored into your 93% accuracy figure, or did you pull that figure out of your anal cavity?

The pakistani Taliban were more sophisticated than Boko Haram, and yet had a massive assassination attempt by twin bombers fail to kill her, killing 120 bystanders in the process. Maybe she planned that one too?

Sanchez01: but would it have been that easy for a sect who calculate their attacks to miss on an important Northern personality, who has overtime generated controversies by saying that the founder of Boko Haram was killed and not punished by the law?
Al Qaeda has had a lot of experience with bombings. Yet the Shoe Bomber and Abdulmutallab bombing plots failed. What do you say about that?

Sanchez01: how possible was it that Buhari could responded quite calmly by not fleeing the site of the attack immediately it happened,
Perhaps because of his military training?

Sanchez01: particularly with the number of people who trooped around him and without being afraid that one of the onlookers could still be wearing C4 explosives under his/her clothing? In a case of an attack on a dignitary, such individual is shielded from harm’s way and evacuated from the venue of the chaos to some safe place with immediate effects, why was Buhari’s any different from other dignitaries all over, particularly when it was obvious that a serious attack was issued on his life?
Buhari's security detail is provided by the State. Are you accusing the FG of being behind the assassination attempt? Interesting...

Sanchez01: The former CPC Presidential candidate has been linked with the dreaded sect overtime, although no proof has seen to that effect.
The only people 'linking Buhari to Boko Haram' are m0r0ns with stunted IQs. Boko Haram's origins are well known and are clearly detailed in this incisive study
http://www.crisisgroup.org/~/media/Files/africa/west-africa/nigeria/216-curbing-violence-in-nigeria-ii-the-boko-haram-insurgency.pdf

From 1999 onwards, there is absolutely no shred of evidence that Buhari has ever been in contact with any of Yusuf, Boi, Shekau or any of the other major players of Boko Haram, dead or alive.
The only 'link' people like Buhari (and recently, Sanusi) have to Boko Haram is that they are devout muslims. Stands to reason that link is made by intolerant bigots.

Actually, I'm mistaken. The other 'link' is when people wrongly attribute the 'we will make Nigeria ungovernable' comment to Buhari, when those comments were in fact made by elders that are now firmly in the PDP as 'Elder statesmen'.

Sanchez01: Still, if he is innocent, why would the OTHER Boko Haram attempt to assassinate APC’s potential President when they understand that they would be the prime suspect if anything of such happens?
To be honest, this is by far the most inane paragraph in your write up. Why the heck should Boko Haram care if they are the 'prime suspect'? People that took credit for bombing the UN building, for killings thousands and for kidnapping the Chibok girls?

Why does the 'OTHER' Boko Haram come into this picture, and why is it a condition for his innocence or not? Why have you automatically assumed that the Shekau led Boko Haram have an undue love for Buhari right now?

Sanchez01: I leave the thought-provoking questions to readers to debate and ponder on
Sadly, it seems YOU did not put any serious thought on this matter before penning this ill-advised stuff

Sanchez01: PS: This is the video link to an amateur coverage of the blast; Buhari is seen moving among onlookers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xg9PC861TI . Some should help bring the video here. Thanks.
PS: There is also a video online in which Boko Haram fighters behead a born and bred Muslim who they accuse of being an 'infidel' because he does not support their violent struggle. The days of you lazy thinkers assuming every Muslim is a friend to Boko Haram should be over!

These comments from you are gravely disappointing. Please put aside Politics in this discussion...a man has lost his three kids. Let us not bicker over political lines. The reaction from the army was excessive. No matter the level of provocation, you cannot fire into a crowd of unarmed civilians unless they too are using deadly force.

I see comments on Nairaland all the time in the vein of "Don't mess with the Army o, they will kill you like chicken". Yes, that may be the reality thanks to the poor discipline and unruliness of the Nigerian Army soldiers, but that is not supposed to be the norm! This kind of killings must be condemned by all and sundry. It could be anyone, anywhere. Even someone you know.

Maybe, just maybe if the Hamas leadership weren't so eager to use any freedom to get more missile material to make rockets to fire into Israel, there would have been a great reduction in the Gaza restrictions?

You allow easy access? They buy rockets. Donate money for food and medicine? They divert it into making more rockets. Allow them to fish far away from Gaza? They contact smugglers to bring in rockets.

Stop listening to Arab propaganda, the same Arab slavers that will happily enslave you and your family. I didn't get rid of the Z30 because of the battery life...it was just too damn big. You know, it's about the same size as the S5, but because of the bottom bezel gestures, it felt much bigger.

using it felt so uncomfortable in-hand, I just couldn't bear to keep it.

Maybe i was too hasty, though. I remember hating the Galaxy Note 1 for it's massive size, only to use a Note 2 for a year.

henry007: okay you're more intelligent than all the tech gurus that adjusted their opinions much later about the adreno 305, congrats bro! you're a z10 user I take it. how's that 1800mAh holding up, that was the sole reason I sold mine.
I got rid of the stupid Z10 as soon as the Q10 came out. battery life never lasted past 1pm even after charging it fully overnight. The Q10 wasn't that much better, could barely get through the day.

Bought the Z30, sold it at a 20k loss two days later to my kid brother.

I have no plans to ever get a BB10 device again. I see no logical benefits for my use case to choose it over an Android device that has a FAR more robust ecosystem and is backed by Google, one of the most innovative companies in tech.

Better you go for the Moto G than the Z3, IMHO.

Note that the Adreno 225 is represented by the Galaxy S3 (AT&T) while the Adreno 305 is represented by the HTC One SV

Satisfied now? Or are you going to Google up Anandtech? Or will you come back with some screenshots of some forum posts or blogs by random dudes? You know what? There's just no point in trying to talk sense into you. You're just not smart enough to comprehend anything.
This has nothing to do with whether i posted material from 2011. That material is Qualcomm's own product specification material. from a hardware point of view, nothing really has changed. Talking about 2014 is plainly stupid when phones with the same Snapdragon 400 chipset in the Z3 were rolling out in 2013.
I've posted links and spec sheet dumps from Qualcomm (the company that makes the chipset!) and Anandtech (by far the most respected tech website in the industry) and all you can do it take screen dumps on Opera Mini from some obscure website?

Even worse, you post Youtube videos that even the folks in the comments section have questioned the credibility.
The first video has the Z3 and Z10 going head, testing out the speed of opening a sideloaded Android app. You happily pick a 'winner' even when it's clear to anyone with eyes that both phones are running different versions of the Android app player.

I think you've gone about this the wrong way. You see Adreno 305, you assume it's better than the 225 because it has a higher number and you're now desperately looking for stuff to lead to your answer...including Youtube videos that can easily be affected by a host of other variables.
Phones › Re: Blackberry Z3 Now Available In Nigeria by texazzpete(m): 4:09pm On Jul 25, 2014
henry007: pls post evidence when making an allegedly intelligent argument. some benchmark scores I found online. skip to the conclusion on this link http://techivian.com/mali-400mp-vs-sgx-543mp4-vs-543mp3-vs-543mp2-vs-540-vs-535-vs-adreno-320-vs-225-vs-220-vs-205-vs-mali-400-vs-intel-xolo/
You need to quit using a benchmark test from an obscure tech blog and focus on what the actual GPU specs are from the manufacturer.

You can check the detailed specs here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adreno

To show that the 225 has more ALUs, a higher pixel fill rate, can crunch more FLOPS (floating point operations) and push out more Triangles/sec.

At the initial reveal of the Krait architecture, Qualcomm told Anandtech that the 225 has roughly 8 times the performance of the previous gen Adreno 200 and the 305 had about 6 times the perfomance of the Adreno 200.
8 > 6 anyday.

I wouldn't put too much stock in a single benchmark plot.

Need more links?

http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2011/07/05/new-qualcomm-2011-2012-roadmap-and-soc-specifications/

First we have the MSM8960 which is Qualcomm’s first Windows 8 certified SoC and is expected to start shipping in Q4 2011. The specifications are the following:

• Dual 1.5-1.7 GHz Krait/ L2 1MB
• 2x500MHz LPDDR2
• LTE FDD/TDD cat3(8960); DC-HSPA(8270)
21HSPA+(8260A)
TD-SCDMA (8960, 8260A)
• 1080p HD Video@30fps; 3D 20Mpix
• Adreno 225 3D/2D 125M tri./sec (DX9.3)

As you can see the CPU’s core will be clocked between 1.5 and 1.7 GHZ and the SOC will feature an Adreno 225 GPU which supports the DirectX 9.3 feature set (DX9 + ShaderModel 3).

In Q3 2012 comes the lower-en model, the MSM8930 with one memory channel, lower CPU clocks and less powerful GPU surprisingly named the Adreno 305 even though it’s less powerful then the Adreno 225. It’s entirely possible that the Adreno 225 is effectively a higher clocked variant (or mult-core) of the Adreno 220 and that the Adreno 305 is the new architecture…

henry007: did you do your research the z10 has a much older GPU. a lot of stuff are missing from the z3 no doubt but the ability to keep me going (A LOT of messaging, calling, texting, emailing and surfing the web) throughout the day without weeping for low battery (former z10 user) is more important to me right now than a better camera and brighter colors on screen or even the so called better GPU(again do your research). that's my definition of a power user. get serious!
fabolakers: Yeah but the only problem is just the 1800mAh battery for Z10 but you can get an extra battery to fix that but the GPU of Z3 is better than that of Z10. Apart from that, Z10 is better.
The Z3 uses the Snapdragon 400 with the Adreno 305
The Z10 uses the Snapdragon S4 with Adreno 225 GPU.

Please do your research and stop being fooled by 'higher numbers'. The Adreno 225 is FASTER and MORE POWERFUL than the 305.

225 was the higher end GPU of the 2xx series. 305 is the lowest end GPU of the 3xx series. The upgrade of the 225 was the Adreno 320.

This is not about listening to dumb talk on GSMArena or looking at version numbers. Some of us just know this stuff.

nanizle: But I could pick z3 over z10 because it has a bigger screen undecided
Fair enough. Just be aware of the tradeoffs though.

At that price, i wouldn't even recommend a Blackberry 10 device. just spring for a good Android device. I'd totally recommend the Motorola Moto G...or find a way for one of these guys who buy from China to get you one of the more recent Xiaomi phones.

ewizard1: The stupid thing is... iPhone has always had that small kind of display since iPhone 1 or whatever...

Just ask yourself one question "Why would they want to make a bigger screen?"

iOS is nothing near Android™

Besides, what can be compared to an OPEN SOURCE OS ?

Samsung, LG, Motorola, Tecno, Infinix, Gionee... even Nokia - All these can never be wrong for choosing Android. You mean, its bad and they still run on the Platform.?

one word! THINK!!!
Fun fact: At 3.5 inches, the original iPhone had one of the largest screens of any smartphones on the market

Tecno, Infinix and Gionee aren't running android because it's 'open source'. They run it because licensing costs are FREE, and it's got a ready made app ecosystem to latch on. The vast majority of people buying android devices don't know or care if it's open source or not.

This ad is funny, but ultimately pointless. Samsung sales are lagging now. At the high end, LG and HTC and Sony are making some inroads into their sales. At the low end, the likes of Xiaomi and ZTE are slaughtering them in China. The Motorola E has completely destroyed the cheap Galaxy Grand Duos in Indonesia and India.

Everyone knows that the bigger iPhone 6 will absolutely demolish sales of Samsung phones in Q4. You can take that to the bank.

I would have loved to throw that question back at you, but you forum vagabonds that are paid per post usually are paid with grimy envelopes under the table and as such do not remit taxes to the Federation.

zicoraads: I didn't reply your earlier attempt to get my attention, and if you weren't so dull, you would have gotten the message and buggered off.

I am not about to engage in a tit-a-tat with a street urchin like you. Take your frustration elsewhere, it is not my fault that your comprehension skills is this bad.
'get your attention' ke. Who needs the attention of an church rat like yourself? Of what benefit to the elephant if the ant pays it any attention?
Abeg take your lame attempt at revising history and cram it up your backside. Your fellow citizens have been kidnapped and you're busy babbling nonsense.

Thank God many others have set you straight. Instead of humbly thanking your betters for educating you here, you're still reveling in your misguided pride. Nonsense.

Abeg stick to Forum Games and the Romance section and leave discussion of weightier issues to people with higher IQ than you possess. Still can't get over you thinking Ukraine is where kids of our thieving elite end up. You remind me of those half-wits that were claiming that the Dana Air crash only affected the elite cheesy

zicoraads: I am very sorry if my statement sounded callous. I certainly know not each and every Nigerian schooling there is from a very rich family, and I never alluded to that in my post. My lil lil bro is also schooling in a higher institution abroad and I don't think we qualify to be termed as 'rich'. All the same, wether rich, average or poor, I sincerely pray for their safe return. And may God continue to comfort their families.

Goood morning!
You said "since some of them, or maybe even all of them are kids of those who steal our monies with impunity". Why the hasty attempt to deny your earlier ignorant claim? Why attempt to sugar coat an evil intent with the usual generic prayer sprinkled on top?

You need a serious change in mentality.
