A lot of the kids who go to Ukraine to study are children of ordinary civil servants. Admission is pretty easy to medical school there, and it's an easy alternative to schooling in Nigeria. I know at least 4 people schooling there, and not a single one of them has a parent that has held a political position.

Wait, I don't understand this at all.

For years the Nigerian Army and Air Force fought Niger Delta militants hiding in the creeks. Up until this present moment, at least 100,000 barrels of oil are being illegally bunkered daily. Illegal oil refineries cause massive pollution to the environment.

You mean to tell me that it's only just now they are procuring night vision equipment for their helicopters?! Or just now that they are deploying them, after an insurgency that has lasted for years that specializes in night time attacks?

What a joke of an Armed forces. Give me back my tax money!

quid: if you need safety information, simply request through the office of Innoson
Don't stay on NL and speculate about the safety of vehicles that you have never driven
Therein lies the problem. This information is readily available on Auto manufacturers websites or consumer watchdogs websites. You can even see it liberally quoted in reviews.
Why should someone have to make a request through Innoson to get information that is publicly available? Where is the certainty that any information given will be accurate or factual?

I'm sorry you don't feel this is a serious enough concern. I'm not sure what narrative you're trying to sell here, but for once, think like a consumer that makes an honest living!

This is the problem with you intellectual midgets. Someone makes a valid point that sails over your head and instead of humbly asking for explanation, you start trying to insult your betters.

I assume your reference to '20 year old Tokunbo car' is a freudian slip and you drive one of those. My sympathies.

On every single review I read before purchasing my Venza, I could see crash safety ratings. Not my fault if you're not educated enough to know the importance of safety cheesy

PS: Innoson has been selling cars for more than a year now, including an SUV variant. Isn't is astounding that none of you keyboard warriors has bought one yet? This discussion is 5 pages already, and not a single one of you cheerleaders has one of these IVM vehicles in your garages. Pathetic.

Bigsteveg: 4.6 billion naira, are u kidding me? Why do we blame politicians if anything go wrong with our economy, so a CMD received over billion naira in a year and dat hospital is not one of the best in the world...then our problem is universal.
I pulled up the budget for a relatively small hospital in King County, Washington. Annual budget (in 2012!) came to 144.6 million US dollars. That's nearly 24 billion Naira. And that was two years ago. And those guys do not even generate their own power.

You think 4.6 billion naira would make a hospital 'one of the best in the world'? BWAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA!

elohorayodele: May your relatives not be in any hospital anywhere in nigeria and the CMD decides that NEPA light is enough like you suggested. Wat amount of money wasted can be compared to relief for some patients or saving lives of some who can't afford private hosps?
For the CMD, the hospital is a business that must be profitable to stay afloat.

if Buka owners will not give free food to the people who cannot afford food, cab drivers will not give free rides, bankers do not dash money to poor people to save their lives, your Pastors do not hand money to the homeless, why do you want the CMD to provide free treatment with no money back? How do you keep resources for paying customers if you give it away to those who can't pay?

I agree there's a moral angle to consider, but from a business point of view, the CMD may have done the most financially savvy thing. No need to excoriate him for that when you fail to extend the same scrutiny to other professions.

There are thousands of Nigerians working in the field in remote locations. Thousands on rigs to bring you the oil that Nigeria sells to pay your salary. Thousands working in remote areas to string up PHCN electricity poles. Thousands in the Army, wading into Sambisa forest to fight Boko Haram. Thousands on remote construction sites to dualize major highways. All fathers of children and husbands to wives. And you sit here with your judgemental attitude, spitting on them because of your own unique situation.

You should feel ashamed for your post.

It's not always about the quantity of time. It's about the QUALITY.
I too live apart from my family due to work...it's not a perfect situation but it's what many people find themselves in. Especially in a bid to generate income to ensure those kids have the best possible upbringing. Families can still bond even when there's distance. There are multiple forms of communication, and you can still communicate effectively over a distance.

This just reminds me that most Nigerian men make terrible husbands.

You meet a woman you love and adore, someone who has given you beautiful kid(s) and who you want to spend the rest of your life with. And then you're supposed to turn your back on her because people who will not be the ones to wake up beside who you marry for the rest of your life will now come and tell you not to marry her?

After you marry, you're supposed to protect your wife. She and your kids become your new family and your number one priority, over everyone else. Yes, even your siblings! If you cannot understand this, then you're still an emotional midget and should not marry.

If the other family members don't like his wife and he loves her, f**k 'em! That's life...and even the Bible tells you that there's now an inseparable bond (sealed with a vow) that should be stronger than any other ties.

I know a guy who met a beautiful brazilian babe in scotland during his masters. intelligent, humble and madly in love with him. This babe even flew from scotland to meet the guy's aunt to learn how to make Egusi soup. Only for him to propose and his mother came and said she will not accept him not marrying an Igbo girl. The guy calmly told his mother "Mama, it's like you don't plan on attending my wedding". The woman saw sense cheesy and now the dude is happily married with kids.

Always stand by your wife as long as you have faith in her. Let others say or do what they want. Simple.

You ignorant people are laughable. 'Do the arithmetic' ke? You think it's a linear relationship?
Different chipset, a far higher resolution screen in the Passport, capacitive touch keys?

Those are the same specs as the Samsung Galaxy S3 that was released in June 2012. it was robbery to sell it at $600 at launch early last year, and N30k is a perfectly reasonable price when one considers the usually horrible battery life in this model.

Please leave me out of your petty kobo-kobo squabbles. As an Engineer, I have no bone in this fight. Strike doesn't affect me one bit since I'm robustly covered by a health Insurance scheme as well as a full medical coverage from my company. More often than not, i argue on the side of the Doctors because I've seen first-hand the improved output of Medical doctors whose welfare are well take care of.

What I will not do is copy you and send my brains away on holiday. I will not deny reality. The doctors have a very strong hand to play here. JOHESU really is on a weaker foot. Going to court will not make any difference.

it will be amusing seeing JOHESU's reaction when the FG gives the NMA what they want. Will JOHESU now go on a protest strike and stay in the risk of being accused of hypocrisy for abandoning patients?

aikeron: My dear shut up if u are too ignorant to talk. Don't u know that NMA is not a registered trade union and therefore doesn't have the constitutional right to negotiate or push for any demands ? If u are to make any argument, make it on this basis and stop ranting. JOHESU have found a loophole on the Doctors' side to explore and they strategizing really well.
Don't be naive. The NMA has everyone over a barrel right now. No matter what happens in the courts, doctors are indispensable and thus will always be listened to. There's no 'big win' for JOHESU here, and I strongly doubt this will end the way they think it will.

Going to court to declare NMA strikes illegal will only serve to increase the tension. We'll see how it goes

coachwilcox: Bros. First I think you're clearly deluded and confused. Calling me an slowpoke when you've not even seen me before smacks of your ridiculously low IQ.

All the acts in the scripture above are clearly condemned and we are urged to desist from them if we want to inherit the kingdom of God. Now, condemning people is one thing, condemning the act they engage in is another. Nowhere in my post did I say homosexuals are condemned. I said clearly that homosexuality is condemned by the bible and those who engage in the act will not inherit Gods kingdom. I stated the obvious based on the bible.

That doesn't mean people who practice it are condemned only IF THEY CHANGE!!!

I never stated that I hated a homosexual as well as any other act there. The Leviticus quote was God's law to the Israelites as to the judgement to be meted out to those who practiced homosexuality. Jesus took away the burden of that law and practiced tolerance; even eating and dining with sinners, tax collectors etc.

Now check out the said Bishops quote

The Church needs to come to them not with condemnation, but with dialogue. We cannot cancel out a person’s richness just because of his or her intimate preference. That is sick, that is heartless, that is lacking common sense.

El País notes that in the past, Vera’s advocacy for oppressed people, including gay people and the poor, had gotten him into trouble with the church’s hierarchy.

As much as Jesus tolerated sinners he clearly informed them to desist from their acts but the clergyman above is outright baptising their child as a sign of encouragement.

Pls my bro be more logical and reasonable and less passionate/dumb before commenting.
And the same Bible you quote happily also tells you that the sins of the Father are not visited on the son (Deut 24:16)

Yet here you are, complaining and whining piteously that an innocent baby was baptised because the parents are sinners. An Innocent Baby!

You are no Christian, you wicked fiend. There is no love, no Holy Spirit in you, else you would not join forces with the devil to spew doctrines of hate.

Considering the fact that your claim that 'I do not condemn homosexuals, I condemn homosexuality' is pretty much what the good Bishop is saying, I will assume you have severe difficulties comprehending written English. Please re-read the OP again and have the grace to apologize for wasting my time.

PS: I still cannot get over the fact that you wanted the Bishop to deny baptism to a little baby. You're not a good person at all.

Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

The bible is clear on homosexuality and the statement by the said religious leader is clearly a sign of the conclusion of these system of things. the outcome is clear.
The only thing clear here is your unrepentant imbecility.
The Bishop is not suppporting homosexuality. He is merely telling you to act like Jesus and show love for your fellow man and woman no matter what they do, and no matter how sinful you think they are.

People who HATE and DESPISE and TORMENT homosexuals are of the devil and will burn in hell fire along with the sinners, that is the Gospel Jesus preaches, you fake Christian!

Show respect and tolerance for gays and lesbians even if you hate the act they do. Do you go around stoning and beating adulterers and fornicators? Does the Corinthians link you posted not group homosexuality along with idolatry, adultery, theft, gluttony and excessive alcohol consumption?
