miriamP: I must be a VIP and a strong one at that, having withstood all d tussles from d dopes here, well am not surprised. To d extent i was ,,,,,,,,,,. Well its time for me to check out since am d last one standing. See u guys , whenTranslation:"I, Miriam, have been found out to be a liar and a braggart. I must now flee before they heap even more ridicule on my head" Please don't let the door hit you on the away out. |
miriamP: Consult a doctor? Ha! Wit ma level of competence, dats laughable. You know, this sums up your contribution in this discussion. When it comes down to it, you're just not very bright at all. Please confirm from your superiors in the nursing profession. Doctors will always confer with very experienced nurses. Nurses will always consult with doctors and will pretty much defer to them in many matters. Your statement above is tantamount to claiming you know more about medicine and the medical profession than most medical doctors in Nigeria. ThIs would be greeted with skepticism even if you were a 30 year veteran of the nursing profession. From a rookie like yourself, that's lunacy. Please stop this show of shame at once. Delusions of grandeur indeed. |
miriamP: my dear i never lied about my years of xperience, i challenge u to quote me on that. I dont need to ve worked for 20 years b4 been experienced cos i was already proficient even b4 my youth service in a govt hospital. So you don't recall saying this below? miriamP: Finished service last year?? Hhahaha, u r misguided.I'm not a doctor, I'm just a humble engineer. But even I can diagnose you with temporary amnesia ![]() |
Ah.. miriamP: just be prayerful and hope in God. He doesnt disappoint. I got a federal job on april 16th, dats 2 months b4 i passed out on june 14th dis year and i collected d appointment letter d next day been 15th and i resumed on 19th. All without knowing anybody bt God. Just tell God wat u want, he will just push it across to u. CONGRATULATIONSYikes. So all along, this miriamP has been trying to pass the message that she's an experienced nurse...yet she's only worked for little over a year. Why did you have to lie? Why this bitter antipathy towards doctors? If you hate the NMA, that's your opinion, but you've been working hard to cast aspersions on Nigerian doctors all through this thread. |
Akainzo: You made various statements and I picked on the one that was patently False. You either admit that you were wrong in making that statement or prove it to be correct.Yes, I admit to not picking up on the fact that Verizon were selling the Z30. I also wish you would summon the courage to admit the Z30 was a flop. It was Blackberry's effort to show they could mix it at the high end. Unfortunately, it's sold very poorly. So perhaps it is a game changer if for the fact that it has shown blackberry and john Chen that their only hope now lies in the low end of the consumer space ![]() Nexus 5 is not a game changer. It was never positioned as such. Motorola moto g IS a game changer. It's racking up rave reviews and very decent sales in the UK, Asia and North America. It will sell well if they release it in nigeria. Google clearly sees Android kitkat as a game changer in its battle to capture the low end of the market. The Moto G is leading that wave. Such a shame the people at Blackberry were so foolish in 2013. They needed a cheap handset running BB10. They delivered the relatively expensive Q5. |
revolt: I wish these selfish doctors thought like this.Nonsense. If the Nurses or Medical Lab scientist are on strike, they too will not attend to patients. In saner climes, people who work in critical functions can depend on their customers to fight for them if they notice something is amiss. Here, everyone is on his own. If ASUU had not gone on strike even ONCE in the past 15 years, new lecturers will still be earning 50k per month and Universities would still be critically underfunded. If the NMA had not forced the State and Federal Governments to improve their welfare packages, they would still be struggling financially today. If the people whose lives they save cannot fight for them, they'll fight for themselves. This isn't just about doctors or ASUU. I fully support the right of everyone (JOHESU, Nurses, Pharmacists etc) to strike out and force through better conditions of service for themselves. I despise those who condemn strikes when they have done nothing to help the situation. |
I actually disagree with you on this one. It is definitely scary to come in contact with an armed robber as they may take your life instantly, however, corrupt leaders also take the lives of their citizens, albeit indirectly. Its almost like trying to kill a chicken(lol), one could take a knife straight to its neck, which would be very gruesome. Or one could starve the chicken to death, which is a more indirect method of killing, and less gruesome. We can all agree that most corrupt actions taken by corrupt politicians often lead to the death of citizens mostly indirectly through starvation, poorly executed projects and so on. So you see, you really can't say that armed robbers deserve worse than corrupt politicians, if anything, they deserve the same.
You cannot prescribe the death penalty for corruption when it occurs at so many levels, and when in very many cases it has no lethal consequences for others. A school bursar embezzling money meant for a classroom block will not kill anyone, for example, and has zero potential for lethality. Your personal antipathy to corruption is laudable, but it does not matter in this discussion. Until there's a change in the penal code, anyone who goes to rob with a lethal weapon does so with the knowledge that it is death if caught. They thus deserve that fate. |
Joanna Sedley: You people have been blind for so long fighting a battle that will continue to set Nigeria health sector back to stone age. As nurses and most importantly midwives, we diagnose and prescribes drugs and, test for minor ailments and attends to emergencies. MVA nko in some designated areas. In government establishments, there is division of labour and everybody follows their job description but in doctors absence you practice to the full extent of your licence and it is high time doctors focus on securing their jobs instead of fighting for financial whatever...cos things are seriously changing. It seems you spend all your time in a teaching hospital where doctors do all ......change ground a little and see that except for surgery ...doctors have nothing again. The CHEWS are not even part of JOHESU but they are doing the diagnoses ,prescribes and administers using standing orders but I foresee it changing once their first sets of BSC GRADUATES starts trooping out. Cos they will fought for the dropping of standing orders and proceed for ordinary treatment regimen. These people are trained with medical model ...just a slight change in the law and doctors will be hanging on to surgery alone. More change is coming to Nigeria health sector ....check for other countries with midlevels doing doctors work except surgery. As far as I know, the 'full extent of your license' for you nurses does not allow you to pretend you're a doctor and carry out diagnosis and prescribe drugs...unless, perhaps, in dire and extenuating circumstances. As far as I know, the NMA is on strike for 7 reasons. Why is everyone focusing on the NMA and JOHESU thingy? |
Miner13: I still find it very difficult to belief whether are Nigerian Judges were trained under the same law code curricula and also re-trained with the same terms when called to bar.The only thing wrong here is your disturbing lack of common sense. The Nigerian penal code calls for DEATH PENALTY on Armed robbers. The 'government looters' that stole billions were not charged to court with the same offence of Armed Robbery. Simple as that. Whether you steal N500 recharge card or N500000, the penalty for Armed robbery is death. |
obeski13: When ASUU went on strike, only few people could see beyond d strike enough and condemn d strike becos it is self servingASUU strike has secured N200bn per annum capital funding for the Universities. This is quite possibly one of the best things to ever happen to Nigerian Universities. This represents a stunning victory for ASUU, a victory for common sense and hot coals of shame on the heads of the poorly educated, negative nellies like yourself. |
NMA should make their reason for the strike known to the masses. This is selfishness @ its peak, why not fight for the common goal of nigerians than our individual gains. And some people will come out and criticize politicians when they are all the same. The health sector is turning to a joke.....*smh* Doctors please let's mind our own business. If another health personnel wants to contest for Chief medical director, let him be.The best person for the post should win.the post is an administrative one and it doesn't demote the role of doctors in the health team.
It can be argued that fighting for individual gain is for the best for Nigerians too. I want all the doctors treating me to be well fed, well rested and cheerful all the time. I will always support Medical doctors when they fight for improved conditions of service. |
What is the problem of this medical doctors Envy! Tey actually don't want any department in the health sector to progress. Why must they be the only set of people to become the CMDs in every general hospitals For crying out loud are they the only people in the health sector They cannot even reach a complete diagnosis of all conditions without Medical Lab and Radiographic examinations. They cannot completely treat every conditions without PHYSIOTHERAPISTS and NURSES. What are forming They want to be bossing every body in and around the hospital. Selfish / greedy people.
And what exactly does this have to do with the strike? Why is the position of the CMD so important to you? PLease focus on important issues. |
Shine It: These two old men could ignite the polity, they're not just old men, they're former presidents.Nigeria is filled with old, powerful men that can 'ignite the polity'. Their personal squabbles trouble me far less than incompetence at the centre. Shine It: If you have a functional brain you would remain in the Phones section where people ridicule you daily except you actually enjoy being ridiculed.LMAO @ 'Riduculed' I admit to being vilified in the 'Phones' section by people of little intellect. That's of little import to me. I should think that I - who was contributing in this section more than half a decade before you received your first paycheck from your PDP masters - deserve to be here more than you. I see you just joined in August...obviously selling your conscience is a thriving business indeed! Strange, I know all the other lapdogs here, but i've never really taken note of you. With such 'intelligent' posts in your history like "Is Buhari Homosexual", it's no wonder I've never troubled myself with your inane ramblings here ![]() |
Akainzo: At the bolded portioned your statement, I want to assume that Verizon is not a major US carrier or is it that Verizon is not in the US considering that Verizon does have an exclusive on the Z30 as of now.Good of you to cherry pick from my posts. I take it to mean you agree with me that the Z30 has been an unmitigated flop, and it's nothing deserving of the 'gamechanger' title. |
Ngwakwe: What would have happened had the woman resisted and started shouting for help?My brother, we disagree a lot on Nairaland, but I've always known you to be an intelligent fellow. Thanks for providing such an enlightened response. |
Ok, this is SERIOUSLY ANNOYING. Every single time you people post this, we get the same inane comments about 'leaders who stole billions walking free'. Guys, can you PLEASE reason like educated people?! It's been pointed out OVER AND OVER that the penalty for ARMED ROBBERY is death. No stories, no excuses. It matters not if you steal a N500 recharge card or N50000. As soon as you use a lethal weapon to rob someone, it's the death penalty. Do you know how many people have died in the process of these armed robberies? Here's a thought. If you want to rob, don't carry a weapon. That way, you don't get hung or shot if you're caught. Repeated again for clarity because in the next few months, some crazy person on Nairaland will make another post about someone sentenced to death for stealing Beans with a locally made pistol: If you rob someone with a lethal weapon, the punishment for this (according to the Nigerian law) is DEATH. |
Whatever your point of view is, one thing is clear: The OP is misled. The Z30 is NOT a gamechanger. In fact, it's sold very poorly since it launched. No major carrier in the US will touch it, sales in Canada are lacklustre. Sales in the UK are pathetic. Barely anyone knows it's out in Nigeria and those who know aren't buying it. The Nokia Lumia 520 is a gamechanger. Fluid, lovely phone running WP8 for $100. It sold like crazy. Motorola's Moto G is a gamechanger. Excellent specs, stock Android. $179. It's selling like crazy. BB10 phone sales are plunging farther than Kim Kardashian's necklines ![]() |
israel007: You are the one who needs to reason like a rational human being. Every post that bigot has on his facebook page is about how GEJ is a nasty and incompetent man. NO I don't feel pity for him.So if he posts about GEJ being 'nasty and incompetent', it that why you're glorying in the deaths of four people? People who leave loved ones behind? Mothers, wives, children? You're a pathetic, immature ghoul. Get out of here, scum! You do not deserve the privilege of conversing with your betters. |
PointB: Since he started working with Buhari, Obasanjo is no longer corrup, just as Abacha never stole. As a matter of fact, he is the only Saint from the PDP.The bitter feud between two old men is of no import to me. What I care about is the President of my country saying he is against corruption yet the likes of Anenih, Bode George and Alamieyesiegha are given places to sit at his right hand, opine on his behalf and are consulted as 'elders'. That - to me and to anyone with a functional brain - is what we should concern ourselves with. |
4peace: Please tell me how many android OEM produce phone that has 2gb ram in 1st quarter.Sony Xperia Z, HTC One. Released/Announced Q1 2013, both with 2GB RAM. Heck, the Galaxy S3 from 2012 had 2GB RAM in the North American variants. All variants of the Nexus 4 (Q3 2013) had 2GB RAM. Ditto for the LG phone that the NExus 4 was based from. |
walcolm: It's amazing the amount of false information you guys are dwelling on hereNope. That's the SAME amount of RAM as on ALL Android flagships launched in 2013. Not more. Of course, the Note 3 supersedes this with 3GB RAM. walcolm: dual core processors ranging from 1.2ghz (q5) to 1.7ghz snapdragon pro (z30). The iPhone has a dual core processor so I don't know what extra value androids get from having quad-core processorsEven the highest end Z30 is using a Dual core processor from Q4 2012. That's the Snapdragon S4 Pro, same one in the Nexus 4 from 2012. 2013 Android flagships have a faster SoC. walcolm: BlackBerry 10 alone has more than 300,000 native apps and they can run more than 75% of the Android apps...meaning the BlackBerry 10 devices can run more than a million appsOf the 300,000 apps, most are crappy clones put up by one developer S4BB including over 60,000 mapping apps . Without access to the Google Play store, all you can do is sideload apks. You'll have to redownload the apks when you want to update the app, as there is no Google Play store or Google Framework to prompt you when there's an update. In short, it's an inferior experience. Not to mention you'll have to install a leaked, buggy firmware to get access to the apk install feature. Just putting things in perspective. |
I don't understand why people are so caught up with the N250k a month stuff. If he's earning more than a million naira a month, why should N250k be a problem for him? |
Why is everyone assuming the man was killed by cultists? He engaged his assailants in a gun battle. That's a sure way to get killed. It could even be a simple robbery. |
Promhize: Its not all about specs, that would be partial and imbalance. This is a very lazy argument. The topic talks about best phones of 2013. All these phones were released in 2013 and must thus be ranked on the same scale. Aside from raw specs, the Note 3 brings better design and build quality over the s4 to the table. |
Obiagu1: Iyabo Obasanjo made history in Nigeria by becoming the first Nigerian to expose a family member for being responsible for the problems pledging this country. The same Iyabo Obasanjo that jumped over the fence to escape arrest and arraignment by the EFCC for theft? Obiagu1: Iyabo Obasanjo made history in Nigeria by becoming the first Nigerian to expose a family member for being responsible for the problems pledging this country.Shamefully, when some of us tried to expose Mrs Oduah for her corrupt practices, some of you were dishonest and cowardly enough to try to smother this with the shield of tribal bias and cowardliness. |
Not sure why this is in the Politics section. |
Divepen: Others IncludeI've reported this to the Moderators for offensive content. If the Moderator takes no action, I'll report HIM to Seun. Religious intolerance must be rooted out at all levels. |
GenWOJUOLA: Govt. workers and stirkes!!! Could dey try it in a private coy?? Even as everybody dey complain of bank work, u don ever hear sey access bank workers go on strike? I think the Nig. Govt gives its worker too free a hand to misbehave!FG and Workers sign agreement. Workers go back to work FG fails to implement agreement Workers indicate anger and threaten to go back to strike FG still does nothing and feigns Ignorance instead of hastily engaging in dialogue. Workers, left with no choice, proceed on strike. Incredibly, Imbecilic and brainless Nigerians like @GenWOJUOLA turn around, absolve the FG of any blame and blame the workers. Every. Goddamn. Time. When will you people have the sense to hold the Government accountable for breach of agreements?! When? |
I see nothing in the article to indicate that Sanusi admitted lying. In fact, his defense is reasonable...he saw a discrepancy and urged the President to investigate. So, which one are you? A Presidency stooge? A religious bigot that still nurses a grudge against Sanusi for being a Muslim? An agent of the sacked Bankers? |
Keneking: Anyway my verdict:Hmm. If only we had someone who was constitutionally empowered to act for the president when he is unavoidably absent. SOmeone called, perhaps, a Vice President? Oh, we have a Vice President? So why isn't HE the one presenting the budget? |
Is this a list for Nigeria or the world? That ain't no Galaxy S4...have you ever seen one before? How is the Galaxy S4 better than the Note 3 or the Nexus 5? Why is the Z10 on that list? |
ChinoElects:I beg you, ask those friends to teach you English instead. Since when did 'hunt' become 'haunt'? ![]() |
