karferguso:Thank you for the link. |
karferguso:Every bank's job has one level of stress of the other, the most important thing is how you manage your time and work smart. Getting 2-3 three hours a day should not the that very difficult if you can manage your time very well. Taking myself as an example, I worked in a department where I have to take up the job of over 5 staff due to downsizing. The job was overwhelming and I could not balance myself in the first 2 years until I review my vision and decided to create time for myself and professional development towards my vision. So today, I have completed many professional courses, further my formal education and still have more time for my family. All you need to do is to be smart and efficient on your job, such that you have some time within the office time to check out your internet hustle. Get a good phone (high specifications above needed requirements for your hassles) to help in your internet things when in traffic. Seriously, since I came to Lagos, I never drive but use public buses so that I can have more time to further my line of career interest when in traffic. You will be surprised that you may have your 3 hours in the traffic. Remember never to sit close to the car window if you are to chose this option. Try as much as possible to close early, at least, for Union Bank no Supervisor will harass/force you to stay beyond 5pm if your have completed your work for the day but in case you cannot, use the time to your advantage. Just study your line supervisor and work you way around it. It is good to note that you are a chartered accountant and around 21 years of age. You may not be deployed to finance, audit or related department if eventually you are successful. So I will advise you not to lose focus on your drive or let the "overwhelming workloads" distract you from developing yourself to position yourself for your dream career. So in summary, having a work-life balance depends on you and not the bank as far as Union bank is concerned. May I request for a favour? For now, it seems I am having some hours to spare for this side hustle of yours. Can I have more information on it? Thank you. |
PhenomenalMorgan: iceboy4752:As at today, the so called "large percentage" HAS RETURNED to PDP. That is what you missed in your reply @iceboy4752. |

Nigeria Employment Rate is 81% far better than UK, US, South Africa with 76%, 60% and 43% respectively. Unfortunately our youth unemployment rate is higher than the aforementioned country except South Africa. While Youth Unemployed Rate in Nigeria is 36%; UK, US and South Africa are 11%, 8.1% and 53%. This clearly shows that, in Nigeria more older people are getting job at the expense of youth. Reasons why we have and feel unemployment impact than the developed countries. The developed countries focused more of youth employment. I am own opinion and personal observations, this report represents the reality of situation in Nigeria...

Working Population and Labour Market Summary 1 of 4 Active working population increased by 4.4M from July 2017 to September 2018 while Labour Force population increased by 14.56M between July 2015 to September 2018. These are the numbers of people who entered into the labour market within the said period occasioned by many factors such as the increase in the number of graduates and age advancement to above 15 years. The total number of people that were employed increased by 1.14M between July 2015 to September 2018. Please note that between last year July to this year September there is about 200,000 increase in the number of Nigerians that were employed into a full-time job while about 190,000 people secured a part-time job. Please note that between July 2015 and September 2018, there is an increase of about 5.01M Nigerians that secured part-time jobs. The number of people that were classified as unemployed by NBS increased by 3.3M between October 2017 to September 2018. Meanwhile, about 5.4M Nigerians entered into the Labour Market between July 2017 to September 2018. If the number of people who entered into labour market is prorated to equal the period for unemployment, we will have up to 4.32M new entry into the Labour market. Hence, it will be safe to state that out of 4.32M increased in entry into labour market between October 2017 to September 2018, about 1.02M (23.61%) were employed. This show that we have more entry into labour market than the numbers of available jobs in the labour market. The core reasons according to Economics are shorter educational systems (completing NYSC at 16 years); high numbers of secondary leavers; high numbers tertiary institution graduates, high preference for white collar jobs, etc. Summary 2 of 4 The total Unemployment rate increased by 4.3% from 18.8% from July 2017 to 23.1% as of September 2018. the 23.1% represents 20.9 million persons. Below is the summary of the classification of Nigerian Unemployment rates by NBS. 11.1 million persons were doing some sort of menial jobs. 8.77 million persons were first-time job seekers (new entry). 1.03 million persons have nothing doing at all because of lost of their previous job. Summary 3 of 4 This page is self-explanatory Summary 4 of 4 Keynotes from this page are: Employment rate analysis of youth (15 - 35 years) from July 2015 to September 2018 are: 13.7% as at September 2015 19.1% as at September 2016 25.5% as at September 2017 30.5% as at June 2018 29.7% as at September 2018 For underemployed youths, there is 1.5% increase between July 2017 and September 2018. And also, we have 1.3% increased in unemployed youths with the said period.

Someone says most of the said underage voters whose photo were been circulated then are married men/boys and women/girls. Since then I have been trying to figure it out until I saw this thread that disapproved my earlier belief that the lady in question was a girl (underage). |
... the bill was first read in the Senate on June 22, 2016.Sophisticated vote buying and campaign strategy. The bill was dumped at first reading because it was seen as duplication of existing commission such as NDDC and sister agencies while the North East was passed. Passing the bill now knowing fully well that Buhari will eventually decline to assent to the bill, will open a great door of hate campaign against Buhari that he hate SE. This is because the region as at the moment is seen to be warming up to support Buhari for their political gain on account of Atiku smart/fast play on them. |
nopretense:For Union Bank, both mean the same just like Salespersons, Sales Executives, and Relationship Managers means marketers. |
ibroh22:Unfortunately, I am not a medical doctor. One thing is doctors do consider many factors before making recommendations. They will have your numbers (BP inclusive), ask you some historical questions about your health and family medical history. One good news is many Bankers are living with high blood pressure, so I am not sure the slightly HBP should affect you. You can help yourself relaxing more, take things of your mind easily, eat and drink well, reduce salt intakes, etc... |
nopretense:If you are medically unfit for general banking job. So very few people failed the medical test, that is, based on doctor's confidential reports, almost all invitees were given positive recommendations. |
Fuckyoumod:I think you missed this, He said contrary to the criticism that the government launched the programme at election time, the programme started in 2016 and fully took off after the National Assembly approved money for it about seven months ago. |
Bblaq17:You are welcome. I knew what must have happened when you wrote that your reply was almost immediately. Wishing you the best. |
Pato5:Okay, thank you. But note, some documents are not compulsory but necessary. Why not be on a safer side? |
karferguso:All your credentials are needed, including your First Leaving School Certificate |
Buhari never addressed Nigerians outside the country but has always responded to questions on burnings issues in Nigeria as being asked by Nigerians and foreign media outside the shore of the country. However, what I have noticed is that Buhari as a president never give press statements on events as they unfold but relevant agencies and the Presidency has always give the press releases including Lai Mohammed. |
Bblaq17:Whaooo, your mail might have come in wrong time. But there is no harm in trying. You may try meeting up with the scheduled date or go any working days within the week you are scheduled. You may be lucky to be allowed to participate in the assessment centre. Best of lucks. |
karferguso:Yes, very compulsory. The dress code is Corporate. |
Bblaq17:Sorry you can't reschedule or you are told they cannot reschedule you? |
graciousmoi30:Yes, you can trek from Ikeja under bridge to Union Bank. If you are asking for directions, just ask for Union Bank, opposite Nigerite, after First Bank and the traffic light. |

Vsammi1:Yes, just call the number attached to the mail, if not, reply the mail that send you invitation. What I am sure of is that the new date must fall within the scheduled date for your assessment location. |
Glowing05:Medical Documentation Training School If you got invite for medicals, you are 90% sure of the job. |
simplebb:The mark was lowered because of the quality of the 2018 MT set, remember they are the reason why 2019 set were subject to second test. |
May I reiterate this, there is no cut off mark at this stage. The overall results will be ranked and the first number of planned candidates will be selected for next stage. It is only in training school that cut off mark determined whether you will be taking as staff or drop from the recruitment. You must score an average of 70% to pass UBN training schools. So if you believed you didn't do well, just pray that many should not do well as well. Lol. Good lucks to you all. |
Like I mentioned earlier, personality test is one of the key component of selection to the next stage. So you may score 99% and have bad personality score and another person score 40% with very good/excellent personality score. If the bank is given a choice to chose between the former and the latter, the latter will become their choice candidate. I have witness and monitor the recruitment process since 2012, I can bet you that the process is one of the fairness in line with the bank's transformation programme. Please, what is the benefit of recruiting best brain with bad characters who cannot work seamlessly work with other colleagues or becomes easily irritated by customers behaviour. It is better to employ average person who will promote the bank's culture and brand, at least, intellectual capacities and competencies can be improved through relevant trainings. Candidates with 35% and above with good personality test may have been called for the next stage, the truth is that you should be able to score around or above your original test scores to qualify for the assessment center. Please note that once you are qualified for the AC, your test score becomes inconsequential. The new criteria will then be your overall score in the AC which will never be made available to you. In summary, the usefulness of your score in your current stage is to (dis)qualify you for the next stage. |
simplebb:The second test was necessary because it was discovered in the last recruitment that many invited candidates failed woefully in AC. This ugly situation was what warrant the decision to take second test that will be similar to the online test conducted by PushCV. I made mention of it in the last recruitment thread. Check out the first paragraph here https://www.nairaland.com/3416159/union-bank-recruiting-2-1/4#51631408 |
Kayceenaz:That is when Union Bank brand is not selling. During that time, they are employing over 500 candidates for a period of 2 years (2012 - 2014) using the same set of results obtained in 2012. In fact people with 40% with good personality test were called because few people applied and many tuned down their offer immediately they knew the recruitment is for Union Bank. But this time it is different ball game, over 60,000 applications for less than 120 slots. Do the maths yourself. Anyway, I have learnt and see people's faith working for them. You might just be among the few I have known. Best of lucks. |
