We are entering an elections week who are you voting for? Why are you voting your candidate? Let take a cursory look at previous elections and 2023 Presidential Candidates . 2015 Elections Nigerians have 2 major choices to vote. Buhari and Jonathan. Jonathan was voted out because of him romancing corruption, political rascality, and perceived deliberate action to allow insecurity to advance in the North East. Buhari was voted to tackle corruption, secure the North East while hoping on his vice to build confidence in judiciary and improve the economy. Buhari was never believed to have capacity to improve economy but his vice who has been steering economic team from day 1 of Buhari 8 years. 2019 Elections Nigerians have 2 major choices to vote again. Buhari and Atiku. Atiku has never be an option for political enlighten individuals and business focus investors/managers, hence, Buhari because available lesser evil to be voted for as he did not live to the expectation of tackling corruption and insecurity. His reelection was boost by his vice president economy stimulus programme and his goodwill. Unfortunately, the news has it that the vice recommended the creation of a ministry to take over these programmes possibly to prepare for running for Presidency after his principal tenure. Worst decision by the VP if you asked me. 2023 Presidential Elections We are now approaching 2023 presidential election, Nigerians have 4 major candidates to vote for Kwankwaso, Atiku, Obi and Tinubu. What are the baggage these candidates are carrying or accusations against them? Kwankwaso I have not seen any as far as political environment for 2023 is concern. He commands considerable large crowd in Kano and some few northern states. He is projected to have considerable number of votes but will not win 2023 presidential election. No need to get more information on him. Atiku He was accused of corruption while working at Customs, the accusations he never deemed to address. He was accused of not be a principle man, this he has consistently shown by his political prostitution and going back to his vomit on what he said about PDP and APC when he left one for another. He proudly declared publicly selling of Nigeria owned assets and corporation to friends and family, he even defended it. Personally, I am not voting such a candidate. At least, we have records of how those privatisation he did as VP, how they all went. Nigeria and Nigerians lost on them all, I mean, all the privatisation that Atiku supervised. Obi He was accused of 2 things: incorrect statistics and accomplice in Akwuzu rivers killing. For incorrect statistics, this possibly might have been traced to the source of data used. In recent time, that accusation is no more relevant, Obi figures have now been confirmed to be more accurate. Akwuzu Rivers killing and link to James Nwafor. Akwuzu SARS killings was traced to when, according to people of the land, Obi gave a blanket order to shoot MASSOB members on sight when they are disturbing the peace of the land. His attention was later drew to Akwuzu rivers where James Nwafor led SARS was alleged to have been dumping killed residents. Obi ordered investigations into it, but no report or action was taken. James was recommended to the next governors and was sacked at the heat of ENDSARS judicial panel at Anambra and was helped to escape justice. When Obi was asked about the Akwuzu river killings, he had this 👇 to say "The Awkuzu SARS was there before I became a Governor. It was a police formation that used to be controlled by the Federal Government. It was like when someone said that I ordered people to arrest him, I was not the police; I was the Governor”If you are Governor, you are aware of gruesome murder of residents and indigenes of your state, and you feel it was not your responsibility to investigate and make the culprit face the wrath of the law, it means 2 things, it is either you approve of it or you simply by your nature do not care for sanctity of human lives. Though Obi has Pandora papers linked to him, I have decided, based on Akwuzu Rivers, James Nwafor being helped to escape justice, and Obi response to the allegation, not to lend my support to someone who has no regards for human lives. Tinubu He has so many accusations against him, his age, secondary school attended, genuineness of his first degree, drug lord, failing health, Agberonism, no regards for Christian by picking a Muslim Muslim tickets, etc. On his age, records shows he has been maintaining that same date of birth for decades. I also read Simi's mother confirming the same on twitter. That time Simi was one of the critics of Tinubu until her mother made that tweets. Simi's mother has worked in same company with Tinubu according to that tweet if I can recollect well. On secondary school attended, he has own up that the initial record was an error as he didn't complete his secondary education before moving abroad. We are told he went to remedial class and got admitted for first degree where he passed with first class. The University has confirmed that he was graduated. Drug lord, was as a result of civil suite against him link to some drug cartel. Based on available information as released by the opposition, the case was a civil case not a criminal case. Drug pushing case is always a criminal case. There was a plead bargain, you don't do plead bargain on drug pushing case. Tinubu was said to have forfeited some huge amount of Dollars in his account, if it was a drug pushing case, you forfeit ALL not some. Tinubu associates disclosed that after his account was linked as beneficiary to drug transactions, the government discovered he has not be paying taxes and the money "forfeited" was the bargained calculated taxes. Based on my banking and financial knowledge, this sound obtainable. Failing health (due to age) I may be bias somehow here, not for Tinubu but for older people. Most of the health related issue noticed about Tinubu are connected to 3 things, age, knee surgery and educational difficulties based on my observation. Tinubu is getting old but not losing his mental capacity. He never denied his health challenges, but has constantly defend his mental capacity. You wonder why universities do not let go of their retired professors. Have we not seen villages elder that are almost getting blind and being supported to walk, still presiding over decisions making and pronouncing sound judgement? This is my actual bias, I don't accept looking down on older people with age related challenges, their experiences and guidance are always needed. Tinubu had in recent time, undergone knee surgery, so I can understand his unable to stand for long and climb staircases effectively. Educational difficulties, as an educationist with experience in human resources, I can bet you that most first class graduates are poor public speakers except they are developed or they developed themselves. Again, even when you are a good public speaker, and you have left public speaking for long, you may have difficulty composing yourself in your next public speaking. Again, anxiety and pressure, can also affect your public speaking in some occasions. This is another bias, as I have a lot of personal experience on this. Agberonism This fact is acknowledged but I have also discovered that these Lagos agberos, apart from them contributing to high cost of transport fare and harassing motorists daily, they make bus stop safer and turn illegal bus stop to legal, easing the trekking distance for commuters. The danfos drivers also enjoy some immunity against law enforcement arresting them for driving licences and vehicles particulars. Anyway, agberos are seen all over the southern states and not only in Lagos. Muslims Muslim tickets Personally, I look through political activities and decisions throughout the game of politics and political lens. Judging an economists through the lens of accountants, will always result to failure no matter how good the economists are. But key word is what is the personality of Tinubu and his vice towards protecting the interests of Christians and other non-Muslim religions? The past and present life records of these two had shown they have not been discriminating individuals or making political policy based on religion and ethnic sentiments. I have thoroughly appraised the individualism of the 3 topmost candidates, check the political dynamics and federal political acceptance (I really don't want BUHARI-NASS of First term to happen to Nigeria again, we suffered the implications in his second term), compared the accusations against their responses and my personal experiences... I believe my support should be to TINUBU of All Progressive Congress I wish him best of luck. |
WhizdomXX:For the purpose of investment in Nigeria market, political analysts has predicted a non-disputed win for BAT, that has been the basis for investor still investing despite having election in less than a month because there is no uncertainty as to who becomes next Nigeria president. Remember pre-2015, the stock market was greatly affected negatively because there are uncertainty on the next Nigeria president. Political environment favours Buhari and Jonathan led FG controlled the national apparatus including the INEC. Until 2015, power of incumbency always determined who wins the elections. |
Sure the business community has known the winners. NSE will not be gaining if the predicted winner will be a disaster. About 2 weeks to elections, the stock market is gaining, that is a boost for the predicted winners in the business world.

History will always be kind to Buhari. He has put in his best, against all hatred and corrupt-ravage Nigeria public and private controlled systems. I know he has built an improved reputation for Nigeria government internationally only that Nigerians living in diaspora have not been complimenting his efforts. Nigeria will be more safer if we do away with hating ourselves along ethnics, religious and political lines, especially the Christians that suppose to showcase the love of Christ, who even at His peak of pains, agony, and torment by His enemies, still pray for them at Calvary. Seriously, if Christians in Nigeria are displaying the core Christ-like messages of LOVE AND FORGIVENESS, which is the center of Christ life and teachings (The Bible), we shall have a better and safer Nigeria than we currently have. But do we have Christians (people living like Christ) in Nigeria as of today? Are most of our Christian leaders promoting and living the life of Christ? Christian communities need to be more concern about breeding Christ-like congregations and unifying the Christian bodies/denomination, that should be the first priority. I also appeal to the Muslim communities to be more tolerant and accommodating. We all believe and worship the same God of Abraham that have blessed the lineage of the two Abraham sons. Christians and Muslims are bothers of the same father, living like Esau and Jacob would not do us any good in this our present day, especially in Nigeria. |
AlafinofEnugu:Are you in Lagos as at this hour? Report from Lagos indicates that most commercial vehicles on long distance routes are not on the road this morning. |
AlafinofEnugu:There is withdrawal of service of most commercial buses (white and yellow buses) that take long distance routes. |
Many people commenting from their wealth of ignorance. Finance Minister deals with fiscal policy, she does not need to carry the CBN along in formulating her fiscal policy. CBN will only get to know through the media and adjust it own monetary policy accordingly. CBN regulate monetary policy and did not need finance ministry in developing her monetary policy. The finance minister and her ministry members will get to know through the media and adjust their fiscal policy accordingly. Both the Finance Minister and CBN governor know this but the overzealous corrupt politicians asking self centered question put finance minister in a tight position. Her was like "what a stupid question, you know I suppose not to be in know of redesigning naira, why asking me, go to the person that announce it". What are they looking for in black market? Why do they want to convert their ill gotten money to dollars? Why can they take the naira to bank and safe keep it rather than converting it to dollar? At least they have been keeping the naira in it actual form where they currently hide/kept it. The journalist and the news media that carry the news are not serious. Oh I remember, they need to sell and remember that majority of Nigerian are eagerly waiting for negative news about the current government. Except the journalist and the media outlets are ignorant of different between fiscal and monetary policies and who is responsible for each. |

RenaissanceGuy:It is confirmed, strike to be call off tomorrow or next. Take that to the bank. |
hush15:The law and any reasonable law enforcement officers will never find you guilty of driving against traffic in any emergency cases. Also, the same law allows service vehicles (ambulance, police, even LASTMA) to drive against traffic if need arises. But in the video the LASTMA has no justifiable reason to take one way but if it happens that someone breaks a traffic law and they find it necessary reasonable to that that one way and the man did what he did, he can be charge to court and can be find guilty the the officer can proof there was an arrest they are on to effect. The man is wrong because he did not know why the service vehicle drove against traffic before obstructing them. I believe these officers were abusing their privilege in the first place, if not, the man will be arrest and charge for obstructing a valid and legal duties of a legal officer. |
Owopariola001:Though I may be tempted by your last line to believe you are bias but you really put out the true picture of it. Even Seun was disappointed. The Anchor was so nice that she sometimes rephrase her question trying to make sure that Obi understand her question of "how will you solve" and not "what are the problems". Screenshots below nailed it. There nothing he said that was not on ground already and he believed this can not be achieved overnight.

pointblank247:Okay. |
TheNiceGuy:Unfortunately, the IPOB may not get this type of attack in the nearest future because, though Nigeria government has declared them terrorist group, the world includes millions of Nigerians have not accepted to be a terrorist group. Application of Human right violations can be brought against the Nigerian government and her military. |
FreeStuffsNG: pointblank247:Buhari met a demoralised and ill-equipped force. It takes years to train, get milltary weapons produced, get trained on it and then delivered through official means. Even getting the nod of a sovereign state in a diplomatic agreement is not easy considering our past records. No thanks to Sàràkí led Senate, it took a courageous Buhari to withdraw money to pay US an advance payment for the new military wares (Tucano inclusive) without National Assembly approval. Sàràkí led national assembly attempted to use it against Buhari for impeachment purpose but met a brick because the transaction was government to government and the savings clause that president can withdraw in urgent matters on security issues in the interest of the country. One of the aftermath of Sàràkí led Senate is the economic woes we are witnessing today. He starved the executive the needed budget to get the country working and make sure budget approvals are around the period when it will becomes difficult to implement. When nation assembly approved budget (not the executive submitted budget) in the middle of the year, knowing fully well that budget takes at least 2 months before implementation and the budget for following year should be submitted in the next 3 months. Buhari first tenure was held in hostage by Sàràkí led Senate, because by the time the executive will start implementing the budget, the time to prepare the next budget has begun. And the budgets they are to implement has been manipulated to includes projects they have no knowledge of and excludes their planned projects. The effects of which came heavily on us in his second term. But who has the blamed, of course, the executive head Buhari. Fortunately for the military, the President can have his way to get weapons and improve logistics for them, though Buhari led executive learnt that late in his first tenure but it pays in the long run. The recent victories, may be connected to recent node by our weapon supplier to use them against bandits. So, both bandits and Boko Haram have been declared as terrorists, and our weapon suppliers has agreed to our declaration and give us go ahead to use it on them. |
sammieking2017:I was about suggesting that too, your bet best is using study as an excuse. Best of luck, but inform your mother about it. |
EcoLaw:He should go and collect the list, in any marriage list, there is one item called bride price. He should make sure that any amount stated in that item comes from his own pocket. So, in case of any future issue, his main concern, he can proudly declare that he paid his wife's bride price and he only received support for completing other marriage rite. From the story, I believed the brother is doing this with a sincere mind, he might have witnessed or heard or noticed the wife pains concerning not getting her bride price paid. I am sure the wife worth the honour from his brother perspective, he should accept the offer to uphold his wife honour. She surely must have earned the honour and deserve the honour, she shouldn't denied her this opportunity. God bless her. |
flejnr2:Thank you, I just read the last part of the order. |
That the Independent National Electoral Commission for itself, its agents, servants, workmen etc are restrained from releasing the Register of Voters in Ebonyi State to the Ebonyi State Government and Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission for purposes of using same for the proposed Local Government Elections in the 13 Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State, pending the release and publication of the extant Law, etc meant to regulate the conduct of the said exercise to the plaintiffs and members of the public.”Why restraining INEC and instructing them not to release Voters register to Ebonyi electoral body? Edited The restrictions was "pending the release and publication of the extant Law, etc meant to regulate the conduct of the said exercise to the plaintiffs and members of the public." That to me is reasonable enough. |
Did he criticize Obi lately? His tweet is about how Obi cannot win without political structure and how his supporters bully and intolerance will make him lose his support based. |
I am not understanding. You see, when we read that politicians or the big thieves are sentences to so so years imprisonment, we are not aware that those sentences are just instruction that they should live a low profile life style in enjoying their loots. Those big boys, will still be going for clubbing, do runs for streets while the "customer dáadáa ní" will still be regularly gracing their beds. |

You will recalled some months ago when Tinubu made headlines about voters card being expires. Here you have it from INEC website, from my experience some months ago, it is better to use personal computers (laptops, etc) to complete the registration especially the taken of photos aspect. Esseite:For Tinubu or any APC candidate, you have to factor Buhari votes into this. Buhari will confidently sell Tinubu and Osinbajo to the Northerners if they get the ticket because he has very personal relationships with both. He will support any other candidate that emerges. But for Tinubu, if he get the ticket, I bet you, he will get more votes in the whole north than Atiku while Atiku will get more votes in SS and SE than Peter Obi. |
CharleyBright:Did you watched the video, it does not follow this your write up. Let us assume there was a vote buying and the process was adopted to know who to give money to, you cannot say it is not fair because, at the end, it was the voters that decided/agreed to vote for the candidate base on whatever agreement they had with other party, in this case, as you alleged, financial inducement. In the video shared by Bashir, a young man refuses the name written for him, he was not victimised nor forced, his will was respected without any drama, his preferred candidate name was written, given to him, he confirmed the name, and dropped the ballot casting his vote. Free and fair is all about what most, if not all, stakeholders agreed to be free and fair. If that process as seen has been established to be acceptable by all, then, it can be said to be out of place. The video also confirms that all delegates shown in the video were not nor looked victimized/forced to cast their vote. They are agreed to the name on the ballot before cast their votes, and delegates who doesn't agree with the name, request for change of name , and there request were granted without delay or manipulation. |
Today, on twitter space Bashir Ahmed was trending on Twitter based on the video he shared on manipulation of votes by official at the primaries.
From the video, it was seen the that election official write the name for the delegates, hand over the form to the delegates to cast their votes. From the beginning of the video, we can see there are conversations between the official and the delegates. At 51 seconds of the video, there is a delegate, after checking the form, reject it by shaking his head, drop the form on the table, and a new one was given to him. We can deduce from the video that 1. The official wrote aspirants name for the delegates, 2. The delegates confirmed the aspirants names before casting their votes. 3. No delegates was forced to accept aspirants name they don't intend to vote. 4. No delegates was against the mode of voting (that is, allowing officials to write names for the delegates). Base on another video (see link below), it is seems that is acceptable mode of voting during primaries in the area.
Conclusion Based on the video shared by Bashir and other video seen, we cannot conclude the that the primaries that Bashir lost was manipulated against delegates wish as claimed by Bashir.

TheGoodJoe:Calm down and read to understand. The court only refuse to grant ex-parte application to stop the primaries. The court never rules that he is not an aspirant, hence, does not have the rights to sue PDP. This was our argument, whether he is an aspirant or not, because only aspirants can challenge PDP in court. You claim he is yet to attain the status of an aspirant because he didn't participate in the screening, which will change his status from governorship "hopefuls or contestants" (in your on words) to governorship aspirant. May be you should read the Vanguard version of reporting, the words in bold may be of help to you. Meanwhile, in his ruling on Wednesday, Justice Taiwo held that processes the plaintiff filed before the court did not disclose any urgency that would warrant the issuance of an ex-parte injunction against the defendants. vicdom:My position was that he is an aspirant and has the right to sue the party, but whether his case is sufficient enough to affect the primary conduct without him lie with the judge. |

fergie001: TheGoodJoe:I don hear The Laws, the matter sha dey court and can still get to supreme Court. So, we will ṣee the legal interpretation from Judges not lawyers, if at all you are one. |
fergie001:Continues deceiving yourself and be very bold in ignorance. Your link proves you wrong, the 17 individuals were referred to as aspirants even before the screening exercise. After screening, 15 aspirants were cleared while 2 aspirants were disqualified making a total of 17 aspirants. But if you believes you are, I agreed with you.
