It is called work in progress.

Buhari’s government actually stopped it for 18 months after those pictures were taken.

He also changed it from PPP to purely government project. You know what paucity of funds has done to every project.

This is why it is good to keep records.
Sorry, you are to answer the question. What date did GEJ left office? What date is the thread you are referring to? Maybe I should add another question, what date was the design/prototype of the bridge inaugurated by GEJ?
Just write up those dates, and consider the fact that GEJ administration was borrowing to pay salary six months to the end of his tenure. It will be good to also consider that no amount of money can be released for capital expenditure until the signing of the year budget. Therefore, another question will now be when was the budget passed and signed into law? And technically, budget spending for capital expenditure start after two month's of budget signing.

Putting aside fact and counter-fact of whether GEJ has started the project or not, let go on a common sense and logical reasoning path. Answer to the questions will show us how possible it can be for GEJ to have start spending a Kobo on the bridge between the inauguration of the prototype/design of the bridge and when he left office. Least I forget, the year he left office was an election year where all government activities were grounded for at least two months of the five months before handover for the year, ignoring the fact that government attention was drawn to combating Boko Haram for nearly 6 six weeks of the remaining three months.

Modified
Document obtained from the site shows that the 6637 is a contract to facilitate Atiku Visa and entry to US while the second (6657) is to secure presidential seat and delayed inauguration until the Supreme Court gives final judgment.

My problem here is not the contract but the consistent public denial by Atiku, PDP, and his Campaign team that such contracts exist.

PoliticsRe: Onnoghen Resigned To Avoid Being Dismissed - Prof. Itse Sagay by TGM2015:
double0seven:
What this government prove against him?

All the government accusations against him, which were highly publicised, the ones for which he was removed, all fell face flat in the courtroom. They turned out to be nothing but lies
To the extent of my knowledge, there is currently no court of law, even the regulatory bodies for judges (NJC) including Onnoghen himself, that have absolve him of the charges to which saw him being suspended and shamefully resigned. That is, the case of not declaration of active domiciliary accounts, which he himself has publicly acknowledged in written without being under duress.

But on the criminal charges of misuse of power, money laundering and bribery allegations, which I assumed you are referring to here, I have no much comments on that but for NJC to have recommended compulsory retirement pleading for full benefits for him and Onnoghen himself to have rescue himself by resigning voluntary (an option he vowed with heaven and earth not to take), I doubt if he is not guilty of the charges he is accused of. More evidently, I don't doubt the Joe Agi bribery part.

On a personal note, I have been suspecting the man, since his judgement on 2015 River State gubernatorial case. Wike has celebrated his victory at Supreme Court the Sunday before the judgement, though the judgment is technically right but literally is it a wrong judgment. Even if the constitution is Supreme (use of voter register), the same constitution empowered INEC to give guidelines to make elections fair. If INEC based on his constitutional power gave out guidelines to make elections credible by electronic accreditation, the law should not be blind to that by pronouncing that the total number of votes cannot be invalidated by reasons of being more than the total number of votes accredited by the use of card reader but only when it is more than total registered voters.

May I tell you that, that same judgement is what give rise to the problem we faced in 2019 General elections that was considered not credible because politicians has been given the confidence that the use of Card Readers is not known to current any recognised Nigeria laws, unlike in 2015 where there are fear that, it is only votes by accredited voters using the card readers that will count.

This man destroyed our democracy and has given succor to corrupt politicians and public servants.

This loud-mouthed fool is still talking? angry A man that shamelessly defended Madam Kemi Adeosun's NYSC certificate forgery?
One thing you forgot to add is that Adeosun resigned immediately it was established that the issued certificate was illegally issued to her. So no one defended her after the truth was revealed. But Onnoghen even after admitting to not complying with the law, he still shamelessly hold on to his post and frustrate every avenue that can be legally used against him until he was suspended by order of a competent court.

The salient point was that he is the architect of all shame he is facing and impending embarrassment that may follow because the executive gave him the honor to resign based on the damming evidence but he was confident in the corrupt judiciary that he is leading and that the executive cannot legally remove him based on the power attached to the position he is holding, that is, Chief Justice of Nigeria.

My question is

Should he enjoy such benefits, knowing fully well that he has enriched himself over and above the sum benefits using the same office.

They should advice him to resign and forfeit the benefits if found wanting on the allegations. That is the only reasonable soft landing they should be seeking. Promoting judiciary misconducts in any way is injustice to the nation.

That is what our judiciary has turned into. Protecting the corrupt elements among themselves and playing politics with justice.

Why has NJC not fast track their decision on the CJN and acting CJN knowing fully well that their actions will put the country into constitutional crises. The same way they play the politics until the CCT order immediate suspension of the CJN.

When judiciary and legal professionals practice esprit de corps for their members, most especially their executives and senior colleagues, there cannot be independent judiciary and fair judgement in land.
PoliticsRe: NASS Leadership: Why Lawan And Gbajabiamila Should Not Be Elected by TGM2015:
TonyeBarcanista:
By TonyeBarcanista

I have observed the lobbying and politics surrounding the race for National Assembly presiding officers and I think it is incumbent on me to air my opinion on why NASS members-elect, Peoples Democratic Party and Nigerians should resist Senator Ahmed Lawan and Hon Femi Gbajabiamila for the positions of Senate President and Speaker of House of Representative respectively.

1. Gbajabiamila Candidacy Is Against Equitable Distribution of Offices:
Having produced the Vice President of Nigeria, it becomes natural that another geopolitical zone in the country produce the number 4 citizen as it has been the tradition since 1999.

It may be recalled that at the return of the fourth republic, the Southwest produced the President, the Northeast had the Vice President, the Southeast had the Senate President and the Northwest produced Speaker of House of Representative and this arrangement lasted until 2007. Same tradition of equitable distribution was upheld in 2007-2011 when the Northwest produced the President, the Southsouth had the Vice President, the North central had Senate President while the Southwest had the Speaker through Patricia Etteh and Dimeji Bankole respectively. The arrangement was bound to be maintained until Aminu Tambuwal with support from the opposition as at then disrupted the arrangement, gifted the northwest 2 out of the 4 top offices and denied the Southwest and the entire south the position of Speaker. It however was restored in 2015 with NW (President), SW (VP), NC (Senate President) and NE (Speaker)

If those people in Bourdillon road that are fronting Femi Gbajabiamila candidacy were fair to the South and the nation, they would have presented someone from the Southeast or Southsouth for the position instead of another person from Southwest. The excuse that both zones didn't give APC ranking members or House members aren't tenable this time around.

Gbaja's candidacy is simply anti-south agenda by some sectional elements in Lagos. It is also anti-Nigeria agenda as it seeks to reward a particular zone with 2 out of the top for offices in the country leaving other 5 zones to scramble for 2 offices.

2. Gbajabiamila Candidacy Is Anti-Southwest:

The Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has Lagos has his political base and he's more loyal to Lagos than his native Ogun state. Femi Gbajabiamila is also of Lagos state and his puppeteers want to make him speaker, meanwhile, there are other APC Rep members in Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti and Ondo states but they ignored them and narrowed it to Femi so as to serve their own selfish interest. These same people refused to support Hon Lasun the outgoing Deputy Speaker even though he's Yoruba all through his four years tenure simply because he wasn't their anointed. It clearly shows that contrary to what Femi sponsors would want the people of southwest to believe, they are pushing Femi to represent them not the zone.

3. Northcentral Or Dogara Should Get Speakership:
Personally, I believe equity demands that the position of Senate President or Speaker should go to a Rep member from either the Southeast or Southsouth zone, but since this may not be feasible due to political realities, I think the PDP, NASS members-elect and Nigerians should support a credible and independent person from the North central for the position, or if by slim chance Yakubu Dogara stand a chance, he should be supported. As stated above, it will be unpatriotic and evil to reward Southwest the position of Speaker when they have the office of Vice President while zones like Northcentral, Southeast and southsouth are left with nothing.

4. PDP Can Stop Ahmad Lawan SP Bid:

With forty three Senators-elect already, PDP need at least thirteen aggrieved APC Senators-elect to defeat Ahmad Lawan, the unpopular anointed of the APC for the Senate President seat. Already aggrieved APC Senators-elect like Uzor Kalu of Abia, Ali Ndume of Borno and Danjuma Goje of Gombe and their supporters have vowed to challenge for the seat in June and with the traditional secret ballot system of voting. I have no doubt that PDP would either produce someone among them as Senate President or endorse one of the aggrieved as PDP adopted candidate. I will see how Lawan will emerge Senate President or whether Adams Oshiomole will be able to rig him in.

5. We Did It In 2015, We Can Do It Again

About four years ago, specifically, June 7, 2015, I, alongside loyalists of PDP, openly called on PDP leaders and NASS members-elect to counter the anointing of Senator Ahmed Lawan and Hon Femi Gbajabiamila by voting for Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon Yakubu Dogara for the positions of Senate President and Speaker of House of Representative respectively! We triumphed against all odd. (Ref: https://www.nairaland.com/2362944/open-campaign-adoption-sen-saraki).

I remember your epistle on Makarfi and I told you that PDP will not give him the ticket but you are over confidence that Makarfi will win, only to be left with a choice that you have in your past year wrote against just like Obasanjo.

In your political wisdom, you should know that the political environment of APC in 2015 is different from 2019. In 2015, APC won with over 3 blocks of political powers who are struggling to hold substantial power/influence in the party, most especially the PDP/Atiku block. But in 2019 they won as a single block APC (Buhari/Oshiomole/Tinubu) block. Also, time was not on their side to solve their differences in 2015 as they were still battling with post elections crisis before the resumption of the NASS... Seems your political analysing skills is fast declining in this recent time.

But until after the NASS presiding officers are elected, I have no more comments.

EducationRe: How Do I Get My Certificate Or My Money Back, Please Advise Me? by TGM2015:
davimus:
I travelled outside the country three years ago to hustle and had to abandon my studies, but fast forward to last year, an old coursemate of mine contacted me, telling me that i can get my certificate directly from academics without rounding up my studies and that i only have to pay the sum of 800,000 thousand naira which i did

But till now if i call him to get me the certificate or refund me my money, he threatens and hangs the call on me, please nairalanders how do i approach this issue or get my money back from him?
First, what is your mode of payment? Through cash? If yes, just forget about the whole thing and move on and if you desperately need the money, just go spiritual.
If the payment is through bank transfer, whether online or through the branch, you have 95% of getting back your money through legal means but you will surely lose nothing less than 35% of the money using government agencies like EFCC or Lawyers from a reputable law chamber or firm (rotary lawyers). Please do not involve Nigeria Police or SARS, they can make your matter worse. You may spent over N300,000 and still will not be sure of the recovery status. Don't also use anyhow lawyers, they may waste your time and still fail in court.
If you are to go the legal way, you have to present the case as a case of seeking for official means of getting your certificate claiming that your friend claim the procedure is an official one. And if your school tuition fee is on high side and the years is above 3 years, then you can claim you pay such amount because your friend told you must paid for the past and current tuition fees, clearance and graduation fees, exceptional academic waivers application fee, departmental and general clearance fees,... Other fees as maybe applicable to your.
The baseline is that your assumption, according to the convincing assurance from your friend never make you suspect is an illegal transaction until you discovered you have been scammed as no payment was paid to the school and your friend's reactions after payment.

The above is when you go through government agencies like EFCC but if you choose the option of rotary lawyer, please tell the lawyers the whole truth including your motives. But the EFCC own is better as the publicity of the recovery process will be less public or exclusively private; and may restrict friends and family interventions when compared to the option of opting for lawyer.

Now to your actions, you actually deserve the loss because you knew that the only way to get that certificate is only through illegal and fraudulent means. Reasons why you agreed to pay such huge amount of money.

But on a serious note, our judiciary is not independent because majority of the judges are corrupt. This is the main reason why the decision on the acting and suspended CJN were tactically delayed till after election.

Two things.

One, the winner must secure at least 25% of the votes cast. From the looks of things both candidates will pass this criteria.

Two, the winner must secure a simple majority votes of the valid votes. Even if any of the candidates leads by one vote, he will be declare winner.

So by now you should be able to decode the winner.
