udele1:You are just plain ignorant. What Chinwetalu Agu wore is not just an IPOB attire. What he wore represents Biafra and that has been in existence before the formation of IPOB. He supports Biafra, that is no crime. If he supports secession, that is good for him cos even the UN recognizes that right. Because of the peanut you get paid from those in power, you have become blind to other important points I raised. The truth is that every single Nigerian is suffering under this government. The high cost of living is affecting all of us and one day, you will still rant how things have become too expensive. When those paying you run out of money, you will come to realize that injustice to one, is injustice to all. I see nairaland mods are pro-Nigeria. But, they are still the ones projecting people like Tinubu. What happened to equity, justice and a sense of belonging. Why can't we be sincere for once as a people. We shout one Nigeria with one mouth, but our actions say otherwise. |
. |
If you are seeking to understand why many Igbos want out of Nigeria, take the case of actor Chinwetalu Agu and his painful ordeal in the hands of the Nigerian Army and the DSS as a good example. First, they lied against him, said he was soliciting support for IPOB. Second, they said he was not assaulted. But a video of the incident showed soldiers dragging him on the road. These glaring lies and injustice didn’t stop there. He was handed over to the DSS where he spent days being interrogated for what exactly? They interrogated him for days because he wore a red and black cloth with the inscription of the rising sun, sharing N10,000 bread to the poor in Anambra. In a country where everything has become very expensive. Inflation rate is over 17% with the unemployment rate surging above 33%. A country that imports more than it exports and 1 dollar is now N570. Things are horribly bad that the government borrows to fund the budget and run the country. Common bag of water (pure water) is now N320. Something we bought N80 some months ago. A tiny egg that sold N40 some months ago is now N70 while a paint of garri sold N600/700 some months ago is now N1300/1400. Titus in tin, that one you use to cook indomie that was N350 some months ago is now N700. With this little info, you can guess the rest. Someone out of the bottom of his heart decides to use his own money to feed the poor ends up being humiliated and lied against by the people who are supposed to protect him. To every reasonable human, such a dehumanizing condition of being dragged along the road in public by poorly educated soldiers who prey on the weak but take to their heels when confronted by fellow armed men is a traumatic experience that will take years to heal. That incident alone screams injustice. The flagrant violation of Agu’s fundamental human rights and the wishy-washy statement by the army that reeks of falsehood and character assassination reminds us of a known trademark and a particular desire to clamp down on people’s freedom. In today’s Nigeria, security agencies and its operatives are horribly partial. People from the southeast are haunted, hunted and pursued like an endangered specie just for staging peaceful protests or sharing bread wearing black and white cloth with an inscription of the rising sun, while criminal bandits from the north are given five-star treatment, petted, begged to repent. They are even given motorcycles and money and big ceremonies held in their honor. Even security agents escort some highly placed individuals to visit these criminals in the forest. It seems like there are now two constitutions in the country: one for the special north, the other for the south. Take for instance, Gumi. The Islamic cleric has been a vocal voice for the bandits. Soliciting for amnesty on their behalf. Visited them, negotiated for ransom to be paid to them, even supported them saying they are not criminals. He walks about freely today, not a single invitation by the DSS. The army dare not arrest him. He’s untouchable because he’s from the north which is the impression so far given. What about bloodthirsty herdsmen? Many of them arrested for attacking communities are quietly released by the police, according to a renowned Oba. Oba Williams Akinyemiju, the Olugusin of Igusin town in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State even lamented about the matter last year. He said police always release any herdsmen arrested for attacking his community. So it goes to show the injustice in the land. The stark marginalization and the uncomfortable reality that the country operates two laws for the north and the south. While the main terrorists are clothed, bathed and given shelter, when you dare to say you have had enough of the injustice and tribalism, you become proscribed with the security forces sent after you to wipe out your tribe in the name of one Nigeria. Bandits are still having a field day in the north. Boko Haram still controls LGAs and herdsmen are still hustling lands with farmers. Yet, you choose a man wearing Biafra colors, unarmed to show your strength. Shame! Looking at the political terrain since 1999, all those shouting one Nigeria yet promote candidates like Tinubu, Bello, Atiku are hypocrites. They truly do not care about the unity of Nigeria. To them, it's all about their personal selfish interest. While all these are going on, the north still wants to retain power in 2023. The southeast since 1999 has not produced the president, has no sense of belonging. Mmiri amaa mamiwater. Alexander Thandi Ubani @thandiubani thandiubani@yahoo.com

op Read well again. CBN didn’t suspend any of their accounts. Stop feeding us with lies. Take time and read the statement and stop this sensationalism. |
I feel for you and the psychological damage you have passed through over the years to become what you are now. Help is always at the corner and you can find it. It’s sad that male sexual abuse is under reported and always ignored and overlooked. The focus has always been on the female gender. This disparity has left alot of sexually abused men damaged. Your story is an example of how such an abuse can ruin a naive boy taken advantage of by an adult. I pray you get needed help because rape will ruin your life. Find help, find peace. |
Jim Iyke said he has settled with Uche Maduagwu o. He said the beating was not a stunt as reported by one blogger here. Let me translate for you guys. Jim Iyke said he wanted to discuss with Maduagwu. But, when he reached there, he discovered that the Nollywood dude wanted a fight. So he gave him a beating. But, after everything they have settled. He urged Maduagwu to stop rubbishing people with his platform to avoid future problems. Watch video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6ILFmV7-T4

How can you setup a security outfit and refuse to arm them? You give them catapult to fight bandits, armed herdsmen, and terrorists. This is what is killing the southeast. Those we elected don't have the ability to stand up for the people. Is Amotekun not bearing arms? I am very disappointed with Ikpeazu. |
Ekpeitit:‘Dot Nation’ is no longer an insult na. We embrace it with our full chest. Try another style.
|
Henryfocoyo:Oga we are talking about actors no be producers. How much is the budget for Nollywood films? How much are the actors and actresses paid? Is there any actor collecting 5 million per film? I mean consistently And if yes, show me the movies. These half-baked low budget movies showing on dstv can’t fetch that much. Zubby’s money is not from Nollywood and i fit put money. Even the movies he featured in showing on dstv no follow at all. The storyline always laughable and I will urge them to beg these Instagram comedians to help them with editing and graphics. What they are doing to our senses is abominable. After many years, they still can’t upgrade. Common human skeleton, they can’t make it look real. To be honest, Nollywood of today is a joke. |
Pierocash:You are correct. Just like the way their female colleagues flaunt cars and mansions too. Someone or something is funding this money and not Nollywood. |
Vaughanlanrewaj:This is very wicked reasoning. in 2015 when Boko Haram terrorists were busy killing innocent people in the north, destroying lives and properties, bombing Abuja and other states, nobody gave that as an excuse not to vote Buhari. Rather, everyone was busy telling us how he from the north understands their problem and can solve it because he's from there and is also a former military man. Now, we want a SE man to occupy the position, you are telling me that nobody will vote for someone from that region because you think the antecedents of IPOB will make people not to vote for him. That's is really sad coming from you. Pure hypocrisy and that is why Nigeria is where it is today. People can't just boldly say the truth no matter whose ox is gored. |
dheilaw1:With this deranged mindset, I don’t think you want peace in this country. Every right thinking person knows that Nigeria cannot work if a section of the country is marginalized. Lost souls like you with this mentality go about shouting one Nigeria but will do everything possible to scuttle it with your nonsensical views. Be reasonable for once; if not for anything but for peace to reign in the country. Let’s advocate for what is right. Make everyone feel among in this country. Anything less will attract anarchy and it will affect you and I. |
Vaughanlanrewaj:My dear, in Nigeria of today, every tribe, I mean every tribe have a certain animosity for the other. It is the skewed nature of our existence, a price for our gathering. The idea of north voting against south is far fetched. It is not every Igbo that supports Ipob. There are still some who have the belief that something good might come out of the union, but i tell you that because of the marginalization of the Igbos, these people are gradually calling for a break up and sympathetic to the cause of Kanu. If the two main parties field Igbo candidates as president, will members of the parties in the north vote against the igbos representing these parties? That’s not possible. For Kanu, I will never call him a terrorist because that nomenclature was a political appendage. A man who wants a country of his own cannot be a terrorist. Terrorists are in the north killing people for free, kidnapping innocent people for millions and wiping out families they don’t want to go to school. The only thing I abhor is violence. I will never see Kanu as a terrorist. He’s a political prisoner. Those who burnt Lagos are not ipob members. Stop the lies. Many Igbos have businesses all over the country. Don’t use Ipob to judge them. Don’t term every Igbo an ipob member. |
WibusJaga:You are definitely right. But the problem is that even though everyone knows that regional government is the best way out of this current political quagmire, the political elite will continue to drag foot because the current political arrangement benefits them. |
AbuMaryam1:I didn't write this article for political jobbers like you. |
Convince Igbos to be Part of Nigeria. Give South-East Presidency in 2023 - Ubani You can't beat a child and force him or her not to cry. That's sheer wickedness. The above statement shows exactly what is happening in Nigeria today. Agitations in the South East are as a result of direct marginalization, ostracization and the cheating people of the region have endured since the return of democracy in 1999. Since the return of democracy, no Igbo man has ascended the position of President and 22 years have passed already. Many people in government and beneficiaries of the 'one Nigeria' project continue to call on everyone to embrace unity but forget to understand the concept of unity. They understand the reason people are agitating in the South, but are blinded by political correctness. That's why a certain Ogunlewe will come on national television and say the Igbos cannot produce president in 2023, even when he knows that pursuing such an agenda will hamper our national unity. Of course, he is aware that there are many imminent Igbo sons who are overqualified to lead Nigeria, far better than what we have now. But, he is happy to chew the seed of political correctness just to satisfy his paymaster. In the spirit of equity, unity and peaceful co-existence, it is right that a South Easterner ascends the most elevated office in Nigeria come 2023, to show indeed that everyone wants Nigeria to be one. People of the South East have openly expressed their anger about being politically cheated in Nigeria. No one enjoys being cheated. Without mincing words, an Igbo man emerging as President in 2023 will to a large extent win the hearts of people from the region who are already or are willing to dance to the tunes being played by the Indigenous People of Biafra. Olusegun Obasanjo was President for 8 years; Musa Yar'Adua succeeded him before Goodluck Jonathan took over. Now we have a Muhammadu Buhari who would have completed 8 years in 2023. Does it sound right to you if people from the above regions still hold on to power come 2023? If you are looking for the best-qualified man, South easterners have it all. So cancel that lame excuse of merit. It will be a great mistake should Nigerians deny Igbos who have spent 0 years in power since 1999, the opportunity to feel among and also pilot the affairs of the country in the right direction because they possess a class of excellent technocrats, businessmen and intellectuals with the capacity to make a real change. You can't be shouting one Nigeria and still marginalize one of the leading tribes in the country. People like Peter Obi, Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, Charles Soludo, Osita Chidoka and a host of others without any 'baggage' can turn this country around from its current pathetic state. Nice sweet love. All those mofos making racist and sexist comments, na God go punish una. |
Willie007:The same guy that collected money from herdsmen to insult his own governor because of open grazing ban. The same Semaka that is happy to see his own people killed and slaughtered like chicken. That’s the short engine talking. Give him small money he will dance for you and disown his family. Shameless thing. I wonder how much they paid him for this watery article. |
Vaughanlanrewaj:God will punish you and your entire family. Evil will follow you to your grave. |
It is still this desperately stewpid Semaka guy (looking to find favour with Buhari) that apologized to herdsmen who have been killing his people in Benue state. Obviously, stewpidity is a family trademark. |
The f00lish writer got small change from his oga to write this gibberish. Everybody take note of that hopeless name and group. All they do is become foot soldier of any administration in power with the sole aim of collecting small ‘change’ and shouting one naijira. That’s their survival strategy in this abomination called Nigeria. Oloriburuku somebody. |
The problem is that you have lost focus in life. You have no goals/aspirations and nothing to live for. That’s why your life means nothing to you. You are not doing the things you had wanted in life. Somehow along the line, you missed your way. It’s not late though. Addictions can be overcome but you have to have something to live for. Something must appeal to you to make a change and it can’t be forced. Search deep in your soul, there is a void yearning to be filled. Live for something! |
E don tey wey I know say religion na scam. |

vedaxcool:Mention the lies. |
The costly mistake Buhari is making against Igboho The DSS and Buhari got it very wrong by invading the house of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho. Let me tell you the truth, Nigerians are not fools. The same pattern the security operatives used in invading Nnamdi Kanu’s house and killing his loved ones, that’s the same style they are using for Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho. Is it a crime to agitate for your own country? Why do the federal government demonize agitators as if they are next thing to terrorists? If a man seeks to separate from you, the simple thing you do is to put up a referendum to decide their fate. You don’t frame such a person up and use security operatives to hunt him down, kill his family and destroy his home. By so doing, you are creating a monster that will consume the nation. You are also mistakenly creating sympathizers who see the injustice as an opportunity to join the freedom fighter. The DSS had on Thursday confirmed that its operatives invaded the activist’s home killing and arresting his supporters at night. Curiously, they said that they recovered AK-47 gun. Under Buhari’s order, security operatives have shown impunity - the Lekki shooting that was denied; the invasion of homes of judges etc. I dare say that I believe insinuations that the so-called guns they claim were recovered from Igboho’s house were planted there to make it seem like he’s a criminal. The whole idea is to use force to squash his secessionist ideals, force him to a compromise by using security operatives to hunt and attack him. Buhari has forgotten that Nigerians have been following his moves and were waiting for this leg. He doesn’t know by his actions that he’s bringing the breakup of the country closer when he opts to attack, intimidate and kill people seeking for self-determination. His preference to shield, protect criminal herdsmen and bandits from the north while using all manner of force available against people from the south is the glaring picture every southerner sees. He makes his nepotistic disposition so clear that there is nothing to hide again. Of course the northerners are jubilating, hailing the president as ‘Buhari the first, protector of the northern realm, king of the caliphate.’ Indeed, this is a difficult time to be a southerner watching all the injustice in Buhari’s administration and remaining helpless. I was on Nairaland some days ago reading as northerners jubilated over the arrest of Kanu. Some said he should be locked inside a jail with a cow. I didn’t see such enthusiasm from them when the death of terrorist leader Abubakar Shekau was announced. In fact, it was an opposite response with some northerners hailing Shekau as a hero. This left me thinking that the northerners could be rejoicing over the arrest of Kanu because he’s an Igbo man. It occurred to me that anything that sees to the humiliation of the Igbo man is elixir to them. Buhari by his own doing has divided Nigeria more than anyone alive today. Of course, when a nation like Nigeria with many tribes sees appointments favouring a particular ethnic group the way Buhari filled almost all important positions with northerners, there is bound to be agitations. You can’t be preaching one Nigeria with one hand and use the other hand to also be preaching against it. That is exactly what Buhari is doing. You can’t be releasing terrorists back to the society, pampering bandits who have terrorized communities and killed hundreds of innocent people and expect people not to want their own country. You openly show support for killer herdsmen, making up excuses for them, but send the army and DSS to kill and destroy homes of people who say they are tired of living as Nigerians because of the glaring injustice by Buhari. And when the Attorney General of a whole country decides to address the country first in Hausa, you know for real who the first-class citizens are. Come off it old man, you are creating a monster that will consume Nigeria. Alexander Thandi Ubani thandiubani@yahoo.com

What started as a sweet lovey-dovey relationship between Odion Ighalo and his darling wife Sonia is about to end with a hard bang. The woman who’s legally married to the footballer is at war with some sidechics and babymamas who are willingly throwing themselves at Ighalo and he’s gratefully scoring goals. He’s already gotten two pregnant and they have given birth to his babies, that’s according to Sonia’s insta stories. She had called out the husband and threatened the women, saying if Ighalo continues to misbehave, she will take everything from him. If I am Ighalo, I will seriously feel threatened considering how divorce cases are settled abroad hugely in favour of women. He should remember Emmanuel Eboue of Arsenal and how he lost everything. It is alleged that Ubi Franklin’s ex-wife, Lilian Esoro is among those warming the footballer’s bed according to online reports. To the extent that Sonia even had to react after Ighalo and Esoro shared a scene that looked identical in their photos. With the latest development, Ighalo should be careful so that he doesn’t lose everything. I don’t understand this craze with sleeping with anything in skirt being exhibited by footballers and musicians. This is not good at all. I have come to realize that men who have money/power or are famous have this bad habit of sowing their wild oats as if being possessed by an evil spirit. Personally, I like Ighalo. But this new personality is making me dislike him. He should be a responsible family man to his wife and children. Las las, he will lose a large chunk of his wealth to his wife. While at the enjoyment phase of his life, he should remember that nothing lasts forever. As I said in the beginning, we are all watching his marriage end sadly like his Manchester career. Phewwwww Drops pen (Alexander Thandi Ubani).
