Crime / Re: Maryam Sanda Organizes Birthday Party For Her Daughter, Alisha, After Release by theapeman: 4:37pm On Mar 10, 2018
Jerrypolo:
I see so many illiterates here.

She was granted bail doesn't mean she has been discharged and acquitted of her alleged crime(s).

The implication of the bail is that, she would remain at home to tend to her pregnancy and ill health from whence she shall attend her trail as against a prison cell. Mind you, her first plea was "Not guilty" so she's not guilty of anything yet until convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Now about the birthday.

The father of the child is dead plus she just turned 1. Actually her first and only birthday as yet.
It would be unfair to rob her of the feelings and memories of love and affection as a child because she had a promiscuous, woman beating and verbally abusive father and a husband killing mother. She deserves love.

This might as well be a way of apologizing to her and telling her she's loved and never really meant for things to turn out this way.
She might not have the chance to do this again for a very long time. Probably for life. Let her enjoy her moment.

We sit behind phones and computer keypads castigating and casting aspersion at others without truly understanding their battles and regrets. Let's not hold brief for Caesar for he is able for himself.

Happy birthday young one and to you mum, strap on, the ride will be long and bumpy. You may need to consider writing cos I foresee a lot of time.

Celebrities / Re: Yemi Adeyemi 'Suara': "Sola Sobowale Almost Crashed My Marriage" by theapeman: 5:57pm On Mar 05, 2018
JAYTUNEZ:
Veteran actor Yemi Adeyemi, who is popularly called Suara, a name that stuck since his role in Super Story series, Oh Father! Oh Daughter! where he is a polygamist married to Buky Wright, and Sola Shobowale as his second wife, said his marriage was once on the brink of collapse on account of his intimate relationship with the latter.

Suara disclosed this to New Telegraph saying his wife in real life, who he lives with in Ibadan at a time believed he was having seedy underground dealings with the actress and was filled with indignation.

He said his spouse held on to the impression until the day the Ondo-born actress who acted Toyin Tomato, his wife in Oh Father! Oh Daughter! visited him at home.

Suara told the paper, “My wife was very angry with me. She thought I actually had an affair with Sola Sobowale (Toyin Tomato). It was not until they got to know each that she was convinced that I was not going out with her. When Sola came, she was calling me ‘Brother mi’, which is what she used to call me.

“Actually, I came to Lagos through her advice. I did not even know that we were going to act together in Super Story. My wife was so eager to meet her.
“So when Sola came to my house they met. Annoyingly, my wife was sitting watching what was going to happen that day.

But when she saw the way Sola was talking, calling me ‘Brother mi’, and she related with her, later  my wife was convinced that there was nothing between us beyond acting our roles in Super Story. She begged me later that she was sorry. I reminded her that that was not the first time she had seen me acting with a woman.”

Celebrities / Re: Chizoba Esther Ejike: "I Trained For Two Days On How To Wear Police Uniform" by theapeman: 8:33pm On Mar 04, 2018
AlexReports:
I trained for two days on how to wear Police uniform – Chizoba, Miss Intercontinental Africa

Chizoba Esther Ejike is the current Miss Intercontinental Africa and hails from Achalla community in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State. She is a graduate of Accounting from the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka where she graduated two years ago.

Ejike contested for the Miss Intercontinental in Egypt held on January 24, 2018 and won the 46th edition of the beauty contest. In this interview, she explained why she chose the Nigerian Police uniform as her national costume in the competition. She is a model, and cosmetologist who runs a business.

How many contestants took part in the pageant?

I contested with 72 others from across other continents. We were five continental queens. There were the intercontinental queens for Europe, South America, North America and Asia and myself representing Africa.

We were so many, I lost the count. Some of the girls who came into the camp could not make it to the grand finale. We were about 20 from Africa that made it to the grand finale.

How was the selection done and how did you emerge?

First of all, each country has to send a delegate to represent the country in the contest. Then when we got to the camp we went through rigorous and tedious screening and training exercise. There were interviews; it wasn’t only about beauty, it was also about how well you could represent your country. During the grand finale 18 of us emerged, and we were two from Africa – Nigeria and Egypt. The others came from the other continents.

How did you emerge from Nigeria before going to Egypt?

There is Intercontinental Nigeria pageant. That was how I emerged represent Nigeria at the Intercontinental World pageant.

What made you to stand out during the contest?

In the camp, there were so many tasks given to one apart from exercise and physical fitness. There was hard work to do, which you may not know that judges were watching and taking note of you. Some tasks were given to us and we were meant to deliver; they wanted to know how punctual one could be.

They asked us to do one thing or the other to test our ability; even when we were eating they were watching us and we did not know. Punctuality and how you were able to work round the clock without being tired was also evaluated. When we retired for the day, we were told to come out as early as 7am just to test our punctuality. So we had two tough weeks before we were selected at the grand finale.

What costume did you use for the contest?

Before you go to the camp there was a list of requirements that a contestant must come with and among them were national identity costume and cultural costume being used in your country. And I know Nigeria has a diverse culture with many ethnic groups with their own cultural attires. So, I decided to wear something national and that was when the thought of wearing the Nigeria Police uniform occurred to me because the uniform commands authority and respect.

Why did you choose police uniform as your costume?

Apart from the fact that the uniform commands respect, I have always admired the police force. I admire the courage of men and women in the force, who put their lives on line in discharging their duties. So, when I thought of wearing police uniform, I wrote to the Anambra State Police Command in Awka, home state and expressed interest in wearing the police uniform at the international pageant. Luckily for me it was approved and I was trained for two days on how to wear it. I’m really humbled and honoured.

When you stepped on stage with the uniform how did the judges and others look at you
?

When we came for interview for the national identity costume, I stood out because others wore fashionable clothes and I came out like a policewoman, different from what others wore.

The judges were surprised and asked me what prompted me to do that and I gave my reasons which is the fact that so many Nigerian policemen and other security agents sacrifice their lives serving the country. And this is my way of honouring them and the fact that I admire Nigerian police but I don’t have that courage to join them.

They asked how I got the uniform because I told them that I am not a police officer and I explained to them that I sought for approval and it was given to me for the contest.

Did wearing the uniform contribute to your winning the contest?

It was part of it because there were different stages and different judges. For instance, we had the swimwear, evening gown, national costume, character and other competitions.

What did you learn from the contest?

Wow, I have learnt a lot. I learnt to interact, to meet with diverse people from other parts of the world. It is not the language you speak that brings about the disparity but it is how well you communicate that matters.

It is a beauty competition, yes, but it is good that you are beautiful in your own way as a black girl and proud of your colour. You should be able to stand out wherever you are, always proud of your colour, exhibit national pride and keep the flag flying.

What do you intend to do during your reign?

I am working on my book entitled, ‘Be the change you want to see.’  That is one of the reasons I wore the Nigerian police uniform because in-as-much-as you have some reservations about the police, every country has its own problems – the good, the bad and the ugly.  I want to pass the message through the book, that the youths can be the vanguard of change despite the fact that the odds are against them.

They should stop wishing for the change and start creating the change. People, especially the youths, are running out of the country for greener pasture and run into problems along the way. You will still come back to meet the same problem. So no matter the trouble in the country, home is home and we can make the country a better place. That is the main message in the book. I will be going to schools, both secondary and tertiary to talk to youths. That is what will take most of my time this year.

What advice do you have for other young ladies out there?

If you believe in anything, go for it; forget about other shortcomings. It is not how far, it is how well and how determined you are that takes you to the next level, that is my advice for the girls.

What are your likes and dislikes?

I like reading and cooking but I dislike oppression and injustice.

Groom Dead, Groom's Grandma Dead, Bride Severely Injured As Wedding Gift Explodes - Photos

A tragic incident in a wedding in India has taken people by surprise. A wedding gift given to a newly married couple exploded just days after the wedding, killing the groom and his grandmother. The explosion has also left the bride in a critical condition and could possibly die.

According to IBTimes UK, the incident took place in the eastern Indian state of Odisha on Friday, 23 February, five days after the wedding, when the family was busy unpacking presents received at the reception. Police said the pair from the Bolangir district of the state got the gift from an unidentified person at their marriage reception on 21 February.

The explosion killed the groom's grandmother on the spot, while the man died later at a hospital. The bride is also said to be in critical condition, and receiving treatment at a government hospital in Burla city, Deccan Chronicle reported.

The identity of the victims has not been revealed yet. Chief Medical Officer of the district, S Mishra, said the elderly woman was declared "brought dead" at the Bolangir district headquarters hospital, while the man "injured in the blast also died at the Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela".

"The family had received a parcel bomb in the guise of the gift packet today which exploded while being opened. The police have collected evidence and an investigation is on," Patnagarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sesadeva Bariha said, adding search operation against the accused has been launched.

Priscy01:
A "Hand of Hope" and the earliest human interaction ever recorded!

This photograph shows a 21-week-old unborn fetus reaching out towards the surgeon during an in-the-womb surgery.

The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. The operation should have been performed while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. The uterus is then restored back inside.

As the surgeon completed the surgery, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed, hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger, as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life.

Romance / Re: Why I Left Her And Have No Intention Of Going Back by theapeman: 10:37pm On Feb 21, 2018
ItzChinnex:
So I stopped replying her messages on WhatsApp because she was too over demanding.

I once met this Girl in the room of my guy when she came to charge her only God knows what, then I fell partially in love with her. I collected her number and I started courting her on WhatsApp which she consented.

In the space of 1weeks, she demanded for airtime which I innocently sent her an amount of N1500. I believed we where flowing not until she asked again in a space of 5days, not that I hadn't the cash to send but I was just trying to use my common sense by telling her I will send but not immediately.

It was during this time I had a rethought about this and stop replying her messages on WhatsApp. We didn't communicate for about 2 months not until yesterday, she called me and said that she was angry with me for not contacting her for a long time. She said I should come to her hostel to see her.

I decided going to the hostel because I had in mind that after I see her, I will go to my guy's lodge around that area.

Before i reached her hostel, i branched to a bank around my area but the crowd was enormous, I had to see her like that because I can't wait.
When I reached her hostel, i entered, she was on bum-short. She was like, where is my Valentine gift, I told her when I would be going home, we will branch to the bank, that I had no cash right there with me.
Her mood suddenly became gloomy but she didn't wanted making it oblivious.
She asked if I would eat, I said no, she started using indirect means to make sure i lavish on her. Our conversion was like

She: My phone is really bad
Me: oh, really?
She: yea.. It's a techno phone
Me: oh, nice phone.
She: but I can't use it because it's bad, I need a new phone
Me: No response*
She: you can get it for me as a Val gift.
Me: lol.. Yeah sure.
She: please let go to the bank now, Diamond bank is very close
Me: The line is to much, I can't stand under the sun
She: You will wait here, I will go for you
Me: C'mon I can't give you my Atm
She: OK, you have Mobile App right? Please transfer some money for me so I will buy the phone
Me: I don't have a Mobile App
She: OK.. What about your sim? I can transfer with your sim, hope you registered your acct with this sim?
Me: no, I didn't

I waiting for like 5min, and all she was talking was Money Money Money. I felt some uncomfortable And I told her to be ready That on Saturday, I will send her the money and even take her out. I Collected her account details and boom, off I go.
I think, today would be the very last day I would chat or even communicate her again.

Celebrities / Re: Hottest Female On Air Personalities In Nigeria (2018) by theapeman: 12:42pm On Feb 19, 2018
ariketalks:
Nigeria is filled with beautiful ladies no doubt so it is only expected that our celebrities would be eye-catching. ArikeTalks brings you a list of the top 10 hottest female radio and TV personalities in Nigeria. These women possess beauty, poise, and of course, skills which we used in determining this list.

10. Moet ABEBE:

Moet (not the wine) is a young lady who started out as a TV presenter on her return to Nigeria from the United Kingdom where she had her university education. Moet prides herself as not just a TV/radio presenter but also a model and catering executive.
At only 28 years of age, Moet has sure made a name for herself in the entertainment industry and shows no signs of relenting soon.

9. Helen PAUL:

Wonder if we should call her Helen or Tatafo? And please don't even tell me you don't know Tatafo because i would be heartbroken. Lol.
Helen Paul started out as a stand up comedienne named Tatafo many years back. Tatafo was characterized by child-like expressions, actions and even voice which Helen played convincingly to the awe of Nigerians. Helen is currently a co-host on Africa Magic's JARA alongside Uti Nwachukwu.

8. Lamide AKINTOBI:

Stunning Lamide is a co-host of the popular "The Spot" on EbonyLife TV but prior to her involvement with EbonyLife, she worked as an anchor on Channels TV. The Ogun state indigene has been in the industry for over a decade and has consistently worked her way to the top.

7. Tolu "Toolz" DEMUREN:

Anyone who makes a list of hottest OAPs and exempts this lady's name is asking for trouble. I mean who would exempt a whole Tolu? She has the looks, brains and the toolz. *wink*
I knew Toolz from Ndani's "The Juice" which she no longer hosts but we are well aware of her involvement with Beat FM. Gotta love a lady who refuses to be bullied into hiding her curves to suit our messed up society.

Car Talk / Re: What Happens If You Take The Car Key Out While Driving? by theapeman: 7:24am On Feb 19, 2018
AutoReportNG:
The cars manufactured in the 50’s and 60’s had simpler mechanisms. They did not have so many advanced technological features and the ignition switches had simple functions. You could take the car key out while driving without affecting the engine’s operation. Can you do the same with the modern cars?

What Will Happen If You Take the Car Key out While Driving?

The straight answer is nothing because you cannot remove the key! With time, the structure of the ignition switches has become more and more complex due to security reasons. In modern vehicles, you cannot remove the key with the engine on. Even if you can do it due to some defects, you will lock the steering wheel. As it will happen while the car is still running, an accident seems almost inevitable.

If you do it when the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, the steering wheel will be locked so that it cannot turn and the transmission will be locked to the Park mode. In that condition, you won’t be able to drive the car because the transmission, steering, and engine won’t work in that case. This situation is also dangerous because if the vehicle goes on a lockdown in the middle of a highway or a road with heavy or moderate traffic, an accident is a possible outcome.

If the car features an electrical-based assistance, which may include braking and steering, it will top working almost immediately. If it functions on a vacuum-based assistance, it will run for a while and keep rotating until it comes to a complete stop. So, if you can take the car key out while driving, an accident is the most probable consequence.

What Will Happen to a Modern Car?

Many vehicles these days don’t even have an ignition key. The keyless ignition is operated by an RFID fob. The fob has to be within a range for the vehicle to run smoothly. The car will run, at least in Park mode, even if the fob gets slightly out of range.

What will happen if you throw it out of the window while driving the car at a high speed? If the engine is running and the transmission is not in the Park mode, the car will not stop running. The vehicle’s central computer system assumes that the key fob is malfunctioning. So, it will not stop the engine for safety reasons.

However, depending on the make and model, shifting the gear into Park will stop the engine in some vehicles. In case of other models, it will halt only when you stop and shut the engine off. The problem is, there will be no way to restart the engine without the key fob within the required range.

Some models have a start/stop button such some Ford SUVs. Pressing that button while the car is still running will switch the engine off if the speed is less than 20mph. the computer system will simply ignore the command if the speed is more than that threshold.

Religion / Re: 10 Reasons Why Many People may End Up In Hell. by theapeman: 5:21pm On Feb 18, 2018
Toks2008:
1.They believe that good works will take them to heaven:
Many people believe that salvation is all about how good you live while on earth but unfortunately it is not by how perfect your conduct is or how good natured you are. You must accept Jesus as your lord and saviour first and foremost because he is the only way to paradise, no other way.

Ephesians 2:8-9 'For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;not by works, so that no one can boast.'
John 14:6 'Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'

2.They question GOD about his ways
Many people ask GOD different questions about salvation...'Why did he have to send Jesus to die when he has the power to simply forgive us' 'Why did a loving GOD sacrifice someone he claims to be his son?' 'Why did.....' and on and on.
The fact remains that GOD ways are not our ways(Isaiah 55:8 ) and he made us understand that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins(Hebrews 9:22) and it is impossible for the blood of goats and bulls to take away the sins of the world(Hebrews 10:4-5).... so why not accept the sacrifice of christ and ask GOD why he chose that route when you get closer to him in paradise.

3.The simplicity of salvation
Now this is a very unique reason and many unbelievers find this very hard to understand because to them, getting saved had to be more difficult than just accepting Jesus as lord and saviour and getting baptized...but the truth is...it is that simple yet as simple as it is, many people find it extremely difficult to accept Jesus as lord and saviour which makes me wonder why a simple escape from eternal suffering can be so ignored by people.
John 3:16 'For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

4.Self condemnation
It is so sad that many people had at one time accepted Jesus as lord and saviour and have tasted salvation but willingly gave up their salvation due to self condemnation. Because they still find themselves committing the same sins they were involved in before they accepted Jesus as lord and saviour, they just felt they are not good enough to be saved.
GOD expects us to live a holy life and to also work out our salvation with fear and trembling but nevertheless, he will never condemn you but will help you in your weakness through the help of the holy spirit to get better and better because salvation is a work in process we go through right from the day we got saved to the very day we leave this world. So please don't ever condemn yourself or give up your salvation because the moment you are saved, nothing will separate you from GOD except you. Anytime you commit a sin, go on your knees and pray for forgiveness and ask the holy spirit to help you overcome that sin/addiction...trust me, he will surely help you and you will hate the very sinful habits you once thought you can never overcome.
Romans 8:1-2 'Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death'

5.Unbelief
It is so unfortunate that some people believe that Jesus was never crucified yet they believe in every other aspect of him...they say he is not the son of GOD, that he was just a prophet like every other prophet and so on. Some even say there is no heaven, no hell and no GOD...But believe it or not. Jesus was crucified, he died and rose on the third day and he is alive forever and ever. He is THE DIVINE SON OF GOD and he is coming back again to rule this world for 1000years and afterwards he will establish a new heaven and a new earth where those who believe in him will live forever and ever and ever without sins, sadness, death but in total grandeur
John 3:36 'Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

6.Heresy
False teachings have made many unbelievers run away from salvation simply because many preachers have presented salvation in a very different light and many people would rather remain as unbelievers rather than get involved in what seem to be a bondage to them.
I have heard some preachers say 'You will end up in hell If you wear jewelleries, use relaxers on your hair, if a lady wears trousers, if you don't pay your tithe, if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend, if you take alcohol, if you marry more than a wife....and on and on they set their own standard that is totally different from what is written in the scriptures thereby making salvation look like a serious bondage and in the process they discourage many people who indulge in those things they condemn from getting saved.

Galatians 5:13 'For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love'.

7.Theological permutation and combination
I know many people might be coming across these combination of words for the very first time but i have meticulously observed that there are different interpretations to scriptures in relation to different Christian denominations. This is not heresy in anyway but just a different understanding of the scriptures hence the reason why some believe in trinity and some don't...some believe that this earth will remain forever and some don't...some don't even believe in speaking in tongues and some believe it is a vital sign that you have received the baptism of the holy spirit...and many more. In my opinion, this different beliefs could make outsiders or unbelievers get more confused and could make them start wondering if they really need to get involved. My humble suggestion is that we as a body of Christ must focus on saving souls which is the most vital assignment given to us by Jesus and focus less on the discrepancies in interpreting scriptures.

Romans 14:5-8 'One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind .Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.'

8.Using human as role model
This is one of the biggest mistake many people make...infact some people have given up their salvation because they use 'pastors' as role model rather than use Christ Jesus. Many people will say 'How can i give my life to Christ when i saw a pastor in a hotel room with a lady, how can i be born again when pastors who preach the gospel are enmeshed in sins'. If you are one of these people who use humans as role model i humbly advise you to take your eyes away from men and focus on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith...He is our role model.

Hebrews 10:2 'Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.'

9.Sophistication
Many people are too full of themselves when it comes to the issue of salvation...they believe they are too powerful, popular, classy, wealthy,
handsome/pretty,educated...to accept Jesus as their lord and saviour so they just ignore and continue to live their life until its too late.
No matter how powerful, wealthy, good looking, influential, popular...you are, the fact remains that one day when you least expect it, you MUST leave this world and you must end up in either HELL or HEAVEN so the choice is yours to make while you are still in this world.

I keep reiterating that death must come to all no matter your age or status and it will come when we least expect it and when you die, people will forget about you so the best insurance you can have for your soul is to accept Jesus this moment because the worst thing that can ever happen to any human is to be caught dead without accepting Jesus as lord and saviour.

10.Some people will never be saved
As strange and wicked as this may seem,it is the truth. Lucifer, the demons and all fallen angels as well as those whose name have not been written in the book of life before the foundations of the world. This may get us confused but then i guess it still remains our choice to decide if we want to be saved or not....its totally up to you.

MAY GOD HELP US ALL.
