andrew444: So you want them to sell the match? you think say na principal cup?
Did you watch how morocco scare spain also and they are already out Sell the match? We are talking about motivation here. If South Koreans knew they were already out, where did they get the motivation to beat Germany? That was my point. |

hulk616: But Germany has good players for next world cup not like Nigeria Nigeria has good players The problem with you Nigerians is that you are only focus on the white man leagues and on your players who are based in the white man land. You don't give a damn about your local league nor its teams nor its players I am convinced that African teams can do something with their local players on the world stage. When African teams used to take their local players to the world cup, we were getting closer and closer to win the trophy. See 1982, 1986, 1990. Starting 1994 when African teams started to focus only on the abroad based players, we haven't made any further progress. We are still stuck on the quarter final that Cameroun reached in 1990 with a bunch of local players. |

To the soccer experts of Nairaland, can any one tell me why a team like South Korea ( which was already disqualified after Sweden scored against Mexico) would put so much energy in a game that was irrelevent to them? |

RoyalBlak007: The four points means "as it stands now" - Literally they are on 3. So once they win this game by 2-0
They'll have 6points with +2 goal advantage. That is if Mexico dont score at all Oh! Thanks bro. In other words 1 goal won't going to be enough? |

to stay alive Why 2 goals. All they need is a win and they will be on top of the group. They have 4 points. Mexico has 6 |

Look at Messi, Aguero and tell me Mikel isn't a monumental failure.. remember they all started together.
You don't know me and i don't know you either.. what have i achieved? Really? i could be a celebrity hiding under an anonymous account.. so be mindful of the way you talk to people
I can see you are frustrated in life, send me your account number.
Mikel is a failure! Maybe he knows only jobless people and he assumes anyone on Nairaland lives under the bridge |

bankylan: In what way was his career killed? He won major cups....played at the highest level, competed with the best and made tons of money........What success have you made out of your career and life ?............ .I am sure your family will trade you for Mikel without remembering you again..........Mikel has a name all over the world........You don't have a name even on NAIRALAND. Why is this resulting to bashing him and his familly? Bro, each one here has the right to express himself. And who told you his family would be interested in Mikel anyway? Not all the familly are the same. Some people would kill or deny their relatives for money while others would never do such a thing |

jagorinho: There is no favour anywhere, africans generally are not technical in football, why dont you people complain when we usually win most u17 world cups? i told a friend that i do not see us drawing this match talkless of winning, because the whole script will play over itself again. Talent alone is not enough in football, you need hunger, determination and sacrifice when due, unfortunately the nigerian team lacks all, we only play well during the second half of our game vs iceland, all the rest we played nonsense. The team reeks of mediocrity, my only pain is just that " when are we beating argentina in the world cup? it is becoming a national embarassment for christ sake, africa slot should be reduced to 3 and i fear that this world cup would be one of the worst for africa in recent time, because i do not see that senegalese team getting the desired result against colombia, they were really exposed against japan. messi has faced us five times in world football, once in u20 fifa world cup final, olympic football final, and 3 fifa world cups and guess what, he came victorious in all. When you cant distinguish between respect and fear, you pay for it the hard way, like Nigeria always pay for it in messi's hand. The bolded is an indication that you already formed an opinion way before the game. And even if Nigeria loose the game due to the referee mistake, that lost will be justifiable to proved your point |

theoldpretender: No, the problem is that our football structures are in a mess...
Belgium is just as divided as we are...infact they even have separatist parties in the government over there (Imagine IPOB as part of the government in Nigeria as a legal party). But they have a strong football association who by changing the way they trained their youth players, and their coaches took Belgium from being useless in 2002...to strong team today.
In Nigeria, we don't train our youth well, we have a bad league system, no Nigerian clubside has won a continetnal trophy in years, and we don't even have intelighent coaches. Our National team exists to paper the cracks. So long as we had players like Kanu, Yekini, Okocha, Babangida, etc....it was all good. Now, we don't have players of that caliber. We don't have a strong striker anymore.
THANK GOD we lost...because France would have used us for chicken feed.... Also you , Nigerians, don't give a damn about your local leagues nor its players nor its teams. Instead you are all hooked on the English league and foreigner based players. That is very unfortunate |
