Ceemac, Shokoloko can't go to school full time and work full time at the same time. She is a single parent and the only option I would recommend in her case is OSAP.
With a minimum wage job she will be too tired to study and to help her child with homework.
She should forget about work at this time.

Thank God I had not paid. They had only received funds from OSAP and because I withdrew within the grace period, I was entitled to the full refund.

So I received a call and as I picked it was an automated machine voice that said I had to call that number back, that its from the canadian revenue agency and that I have some tax issues that need to be clarified else after some days an arrest warrant would be issued for me. I just paused and told myself say na scam. I just landed wetin join me join tax. Nevertheless I called the number back and the person said he's a tax detective for the CRA and would to know who he's speaking with. Asked my first name which I gave him, asked my second name which I gave him but purposely misspleed it and he said he's bringing up my details. Some seconds later he said yes my details are up so I should verify my post code... And I was like if you have my details with you there why ask me for my post code again. After much ado, he just hung up the phone and the line didn't connect again. I knew the main thing he wanted was my SIN number.

Lessons.... Be smart and don't drop your guard.... Fraudsteres are everywhere not just in naija....

Can I please have the number that called you. I love wasting their time playing guillable. In this particular case they will ask you to go a gas station to purchase some cards to make their payment. I love pretending I am on a highway and will stop at the first available opportunity to make their payment. In the meantime they will ask you not to hang up till you have reached the gas station.
I once put the phone down for 30 minutes and the dude was still waiting.
By the way they change their numbers everyday. They are located in India

The person can choose whichever is applicable to her. Boss13 can choose to answer the question based on the information given and the lady can also choose to give more information if needed. Anyway, case closed.

Boss13 question is still legitimate given that some people may not know that child support in Canada is re-inforced by legislation. As Boss13 himself had indicated, sometimes to better assist a person we may need to be a bit inquisitive in order to determine all the options available to a particular case.
Anyway , I never knew that "Ms" or "Miss" were also options for marital status. Thanks for teaching me something new.

Another quick question seniors, i've been doing some research on kijiji and i see a lot of general labor jobs in Ontario some even requesting for immediate start. How hard or easy is it to get these jobs. Am planning on landing next month and i want to get my feet on the ground immediately to avoid POF running out as i look for my career jobs.

Extremely easy to get those jobs. Most of them are are labor works given through temp employment agencies. They pay the minimum wage. They are temporary positions that can be converted to permanent positions.

To answer your question Madam properly, before I was interrupted. Surviving on minimum wage as a student is difficult. On a positive note, your tuition is already being paid for. If you are on a student visa, you would be restricted on the number of hours to work. If you are a PR, there are flexible programs that can support you.

The amount you get from OSAP (grant on loan) is dependent on your course and program duration. This is available for PR. Explore this option if your a PR. If you are not, there are other programs that can support you - Charitable organization for minority. I don’t know the province you are going to, and before nosy demented creatures poke their noses again, do not be afraid to ask questions. Visit service organizations, each province have welfare programs that can assist you, including accommodation. It may be tough but tough people last longer.

By the way, she is in Ontario ... and it seems like she is a single mother meaning she will be getting the Canada child benefit each month.

She can't be on welfare as a full time student.
Welfare will ask her to apply for OSAP in Ontario
The amount OSAP paid each year is dependent on her income and not on the course nor the program duration.
Given that she hadn't filed any tax yet, I am sure she will get a HUGE amount this year.
However, she can accept the grant and return the loan if I am not mistaken. I am sure the amount of grant alone will be enough to cover her living expenses.

Learning to program is learning to solve problems. An example is learning to communicate rather than learning English or French. Of course you would need a language to communicate but they are two different things.

Same with programming, its learning to solve problems with computers and most times one would use a programming language but people who just learn a programming language can only solve problems in the context of the programming language they learnt. Their problem solving skills is built around the language they learnt.

On the other hand those who learn to program, try to solve the problems independent of a programming language, when they have a solution they use the best language to implement.

OSAP doesn't just pay for your tuition. It also pays for your living expenses.
Find out if you qualify as a new immigrant. IF you do qualify, they can pay you more than 30K per year. And when you done school, you may have to pay back less than 15K.
Even if you already pay full tuition, you will still get OSAP if you qualify for it.

maternal, do new immigrants qualify for OSAP (The Ontario Student Assistance Program) ? If that is the case @Shokoloko can get more than 30K /year in OSAP if she is enrolled in a university or college.
The good thing about OSAP is that people can pay back just a fraction of it to the government when they are done with school.

Submitted the TBills certificate, the regular letter of introduction from the bank confirming we have an account with them and a letter of non-indebtedness. We didn’t push for the bank to issue the IRCC letter as we don’t keep funds in current accounts.

Besides if your husband is a USC then he should have filed a IR or CR for you which os not subject to visa limits. It should be over and done with in under 9months.
If he's a LPR or GC holder then you would have F2A which has a wait time of about 2years or so.

Whichever it is renewing your B1/B2 is not a big deal...relax. Don't be anxious over any possible refusal. You clearly have immigrant intent which is not a crime in your situation. If they don't give you then wait for filing but please just fill the truth.

I don't think that the US embassy would go to the extend of checking if an individual has broken any immigration law in another country, after that person has been given a US visa.

Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world that have diplomatic relation with North Korea.
But the embassy of Nigeria to North Korea is located in China.

In any case, there are many tourists who visits North Korea each year. This country is developing its tourism industry. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see some Nigerians visiting North Korea. There are videos on Youtube of black tourists in North Korea
