On Friday, the 32-year-old retired from the game as he continues his successful recovery from cancer The Nigeria Football Federation have offered to have Carl Ikeme in the technical crew of the Super Eagles, following his premature retirement from active football. Ikeme, on Friday, revealed his decision to hang his gloves as he continues his successful recovery from Leukaemia, which was first diagnosed a year ago. Prior to the ailment keeping the Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper on the treatment table, he racked up 10 caps for Nigeria - keeping seven clean sheets - having made his international debut in 2015. His decision to retire has been met with tons of heartwarming tributes, including that of his goalkeeping colleagues. And the NFF, in a statement signed by its general secretary Mohammed Sanusi, are offering to sponsor the 32-year-old's coaching course before drafting him in Gernot Rohr’s backroom. “Carl Ikeme was an embodiment of absolute dedication, commitment and patriotic fervour in the games that he played for the Super Eagles,” read the statement. “The circumstances of his retirement from the game are somewhat depressing, even as we thank God for his life.” “The Nigeria Football Federation will find the resources to send him on a coaching course, and afterwards absorb him into the technical crew of the Super Eagles. That is the least we can do for such a dedicated patriot.” The body also noted that they had been in the know on Ikeme’s decision since ‘a few weeks ago’. “A few weeks ago, he had spoken on phone with the NFF President and 1st Vice President of CAF, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, to intimate him on his (Ikeme’s) desire to retire. “Even though he was sad about it, the NFF President commended his fighting spirit and respected his decision, and also said he would rather allow the player or his club to break the news.” |

Forget about party, that guy's name will defeat anybody in that area.if u r close to ibarapa u will know the kind of force that is loaded in that name 'ogundoyin'. Even the polytechnic in that town was named after the man father or grand father'adeseun ogundoyin' so his father or grand father's good will won the election for him. So beating that guy in ibarapa east is like defeating buhari in daura |

From been one of the finest footballer to one of the best coach in the world. This man deserve some accolades but I wonder why nobody seems to talk about him. Three champions league trophies in a row with his first assignment as a first team coach in Europe, imagine mourinho achieving that astonishing feat the whole world would be talking about his achievement perhaps zidane is too quiet to gain such attention.nevertheless the record is there to speak for him. I call him prof zidane because of his understanding of the round leather game which is glaring even to the blinds right from his days as a player. Congratulations professor zidane

Enyioha Opara, Minna A 23-year-old worker, Ismail Yusuf, has attacked and knocked out the teeth of his boss with a hammer for allegedly failing to pay salaries. The suspect admitted to knocking out seven teeth from Sattish Kasara, an Indian national and manager of Bolaji Drilling Company in Minna, Niger State. The incident which happened in the Tunga area of Minna, led to Yusuf’s arrest by the police. Northern City News gathered that Kasara allegedly withheld Yusuf’s wages because he learnt that the worker planned to travel to Bauchi State to see his parents and feared he might not return to work. Yusuf explained to our correspondent that he promised to return to work within one week, adding that Kasara refused to pay him his salaries. “I was begging him to pay my salaries to facilitate my journey to Bauchi, he didn’t even listen or give me audience; then the next day, I went to his house, forced his door open and inflicted injuries on his head with a hammer. I knocked out seven of his teeth as a result,” he narrated. The 23-year-old stated that he had worked with Kasara for over five years during which he had not visited his parents. “I have worked with this man for over five years without seeing my parents; it hurts me a lot and I cannot bear it any longer. I am not asking for his favour; all I’m asking for is my salary,” he stated. Yusuf accused foreign company owners of maltreating Nigerians, saying, “I don’t know why they don’t treat Nigerians well and the Federal Government is keeping quiet over it. How can I work for a foreigner in my own country at the end of the month he will not pay; can that happen in their own country,” he queried. The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, said that police operatives recovered a hammer and a pipe from Yusuf, adding that he would be charged to court after investigation.
