My take: Alpha female ends once we are married. Decision making in my family should be by mutual consent and understanding of myself and my wife no matter who earns more.

Thou it wont be easy, we may have to consciously imbibe it in our lifes and way of thinking.

It depends on the kind of job, for me if it's not an oil firm and my pay is not up to 500k, I would gladly venture in a postgraduate program to boost my employability and career prospect. It depends on you anyway.
Are you really comfortable with your present job, Do you strongly desire to venture into a graduate programme, do you need it, are you ready for it, is it going to be MSc or a thorough research PhD, are you going to grab knowledge to be implemented in your job focus area, do you want to boost your employability rate across boundaries, do you intend residing abroad permanently and working there, what is your priority, do you want to be a game changer or a beneficiary?

I intend starting my prep for GRE and TOEFL. However, I always have this concern of the uncertainties that lie ahead after the completion of post graduate studies.

Is it worth leaving my present decent job at the moment.

So I had my GRE today at Galaxy Uniprep Abuja. Please note my post is a bit weird relative of the typical GRE experience. I decided to take the GRE sometime last year searched online and saw this forum, I was inspired by great scores here to all my bosses I hail.

Now to my experience I paid for my GRE around August with walspring's GRE discount Boss I'm definitely grateful for this. Preparation became intense after that though I had gone through a few materials sometime last year I had to revisit each one. I used the Manhattan 8 Series Great Book for Quant, and the Princeton review for Verbal Scholastica16 recommended this, thanks Boss it was helpful. I had gone through the Ets material both quant and verbal before I paid for the exam so I decided to delve into other resources. I watched the magoosh premium videos, those I could get my hands on twice. I definitely recommend that also, for the lesson videos I only went through relevant math topics I had issues with, combination, probability and counting and word problems.

Forward to a month before my exam I systemically went through the Manhattan flash cards the quant was extremely useful the verbal on the other hand had a plethora of words though they may not exactly be GRE esque. You might want to revise well, I think I revised each material I read well like twice or thrice for the ets materials.

I tool the powerprep II and the ets paper test in the week leading to my test, scores were within the range of 325-332, let me chime in here the quant in paper section seemed to easy I didn't have any problem with all question except 1, while I made a few mistakes in the power prep.

Exam day, I consider myself a staid person, so I was pretty relaxed maybe too relaxed, after check in procedures that took almost an hour. The essays were easy to tackle, I had VQVQV the quants didn't seem as hard as I expected maybe the Manhattan prep had raised my level, I guess I made a few mistakes though because I expected a better quant score. Reported my scores 162V 164Q 326, maybe I used easy a lot in my post don't mind me, and surprisingly after the exams I was not tired. Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this story and if you haven't gone through the forum from page 1 until date you're missing a lot of valuable information.

Sent my scores to four schools
Purdue, Pennstate, Louisiana state university and University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Pls...what are the chances of someone that intends to start preparations by mid December and write GRE by first week in January due to tight work schedules.

Should we not be discussing about the likely interview questions and their answers while being hopeful of getting called for interview? This thread is the most childish I have ever seen.

It is highly advisable to write English tests in order to increase one's chances of getting either RA or TA (especially for schools in the United States). Most Canadian Universities do waive English tests for English speaking countries including Nigeria.

IELTS Academic is not acceptable for Express Entry. He should choose TOEFL since he will be applying to both schools in the United States and schools in Canada. Schools in the United States have a preference for TOEFL while Canadian Universities accept both.

So i can conlude that TOEFL is the way to go in order to increase admission chances in both US and Canada.

I have also observed that people are placing much emphasis on only GRE. Is test of English no longer compulsory for admission?

Some fall deadlines are still in April but funding is harder then.

Then you have Spring deadline but the admission is between June- Oct/Nov for most schools and it is almost never funded. I still think fall for even Jan admission deadlines is possible. Most people only advice for early bird admissions because of the possibility of funding.

so you have about 3month to take both if you want to apply to fall 2018

Until our leaders stabilize our power supply and encourage all round local production to create wealth, our problems will continue. No amount of monetary and fiscal economic permutations, accusations and counter accusations will save us.

I assume that for u guys to be talking about meeting each others parents means that u guys are serious. So ur girl should be matured and patient and see things frm ur angle. Her text reeks of disrespect n arrongace which i think u should watch closely if u hv been sincere with her. I think u should maintain ur stand on waiting till dec n see hw she reacts when things dont go her way. If she loves u then she should wait. I dont think there is any need for games at this point. Let wisdom guide u in making ur decision.

To me it's easier giving a public speech than making small talks. I have two presentations next week and at least one more the following week (I put myself I that position ). It's not that I don't feel nervous, I do especially when I'm just starting. But doing presentations, I feel like I'm doing business. But small talks on the other way is something else

I agree with you on this one. Giving a public speech is something I can do anytime anyday and deliver perfectly bt when it comes to small talks, I loose my steam especially amidst the females. Not that i'm shy bt just that i'm used to relating more with my guys.

I recently went for an interview that was first preceded by a group discussion. Later I observed that I flowed well all thru the interview and group discussion , spoke and chatted confidently, bt when i returned to the conference room where there were other guys and female folks, I suddenly went blank, saying very little.

Bt one thing I 've learnt is that whenever I'm in a situation where I feel cold n blank, I start to imagine previous small talks or events I had that I really enjoyed and try to place myself in that mood, and that helped to put me in the mood to talk. I really hope we can try it sometime. It works tho i'm still learning and trying to put it into use in my work place.

It hurts being an Introvert seriously , got to the university and ah thought I would be able to make a great deal of friends to move out and rap with, hell no!!it's not been possible, and I don't need to say that am tayad of peeps calling me a snob of some "ajebutter" cos they've failed to understand that it's just me!! Even at times that I try to rap with people outside, there's this thing inside of me that draws me back. And it's really affecting the kinda relationship I have with girls, the kinda relationship that doesn't last coz most of them consider me as a buzzkiller, my dad doesn't like me that much cos he thinks I keep things too much to my self and I don't really rap well with him......I can really trade anything to change this part of me I hate so much!!

Start getting a lttle involved in social activities, uni associations n take up leadership positions in sch. It wont be easy initially bt might help.

A greater part of the blame should go to the ladies. As a Lady firstly, you are 100% in control of who u give ur body to and be responsible for whatever consequences you get. Secondly, it's a sign of weakness for you to allow others ppl (guys) to control hw u respond to requests including sex. Thirdly, even if a lady gets pregnant, there are still options avaliable n not abortion . ladies make una no kill me o

Edge in terms of my what my priorities are right now which is mostly about personal development in which I 've achieved remarkable progress. Now i'm coming out more to make up. This is not to say introversion is the best but I just highlighted one positive side to it. Different strokes for different folks.
